Hello and welcome to betway’s chelam Festival 2024 preview show uh we’re delighted to be here at chelam race course and we’ve got a fantastic panel of guests including Katy Walsh Gary O’Brien Rosso Sullivan and Richard Hils we’re going to go through all 28 races of the festival highlighting the main

Contenders and the fancies of our panel and we’re going to start off with the first race on the Tuesday the Supreme novice’s hurdle um the big question I think we all know is is Bal B bur going to run here or is he going to go to the

Baron Bingham on the Wednesday now Gary I’m going to come to you first if you owned and trained this horse where would you run him would he go would he run in supreme or would he run in the baring Bingham uh if I owned him I think I

Might maybe go for the longer race the bearing Bingham Chad but if I trained him Willie Mullins obviously is in a position where he wants to maximize his chance of winning both races so that might well be the key factor when it comes to making the decision and it does

Look as though it’s going to be pretty much a last minute decision Ross come to you next your thoughts on the race as a whole there is an improver in the race uh mystical power um he’s a horse that only won a bumper in the summer last

Year in balro but has improved all year long and he his run the last day punchdown was very good H he quickened from the back of the last of the line um I do think B bur win if you’re looking for something that just might run up

Behind him or you know something that is a horse that’s just he just is an improver he’s the horse that’s caught my eye throughout the year and uh he looks he looks a decent sort Richard are you going to be the follow the general consensus is William mullin’s going to

Win the opener or have you got something a bit more further field for us a bit more left field well no I think this is going to develop into a pattern of me feeling the Irish are going to swamp us to be honest I suppose we should mention

Jericho D just because yes he would represent the best English ch probably at least his his form got franked by lumpam the other day he wasn’t particularly impressive at Doncaster um Nikki Henderson as his want has you know accused everyone of talking him up when it was Nicki enderson that talked him up

Right at the beginning of the Season his stable T and worked in with some of his better horses at those gallops mornings at Newbury so I think he always has held a prominent position yeah I’d be sending B burn for the longer price but I do

Think it’s going to go to the Irish I haven’t seen as many of them in the flesh um sadly jeru ad probably can only make the frame well now the second R is the arle um I thought Marine National was very disappointed I think as everyone thought so at the Dublin racing

Festival um and in because of that his price has doubled now to where he is and he seems like a bit more of a backal price but the winner that day IL thomps KT was given a cracking ride uh to to get up on the line and is this just a

Very winnable arle this year yeah um I think Ela to has been very consistent and I don’t think he got ever in his own way here in Cham last year um Marine National got a great ride here last year and uh I think if Danny had it all over

Again he might have made a different decision coming down the hill um he’s been very consistent this year over fences um and he’s been really good around LEP Town especially was very Gutsy the last day Marine National was definitely disappointing the last day was super in his beginners was very good

At Christmas and came back um to our Champions weekend and Dublin racing festival and it’s just didn’t happen and it didn’t happen from a long way out really and um I’m sure they’re hoping he can bounce back from that but it’s not ideal all the same and um I think Ed at

H going forward he’s extremely gutsy and um I quite like found to 50 as well um I think he’s tough he’s something about him he can be a bit Larry and um um but I think he did very little wrong the last day to get beaten and he’s gutsy

And I mean I was there standing just past the line and um he was nearly back up again um a stride after the line and you know it’s one thing about Cham is usually nine times out of 10 they go a really good gallop and you have to keep

Going and that’s something that he most certainly does indeed and Stat here is the last 12 winners have won on their previous start and that it’s cuts out half the field really IL thomps has Hunter Jan has jpr one has quixos has Richards I’m going to come to

You next the arle give us your thoughts please um again flying the UK flag JPL one probably is our best um and it was nice to see that he won well at lingfield because that fall was really unlucky here when he jumped so well whether he is of the sufficient quality

Normally this race historically is won by a very good hurdler the highest rated hurdler often does so um Marine Asal the issue probably is having failed to complete you know ran disappointedly last time you’ve only had those couple of runs over fences and of course he had

The wind op which everyone said was just just tidying things up but that head was quite High the other day yes so whether there’s a wind issue there that they’re they’re trying to mask problem for me is let th he just doesn’t look like a chaser he wins but physically down the

Back you know and unfortunately that makes me feel negative about him possibly unfairly so um I thought this was one of the hardest races not a clue after Dublin racing Festival it got worse gexio you know Huns Jana horses that maybe come into the equation kixo

Who does fulfill your stat he did win the last time he did yeah yeah uh could be the value bet he’s a previous winner he is on 14 to one H in around that he could be the each way bet of the race on such a wide open race and we’ll move on

To a bit more of an easy race a bit more of an easy race I didn’t think I’d be saying that the Ultima than the Aral um irelander not from 38 in the last 17 years so rich we’re going to start with you flying the flag for England is this

A race that the Irish are going to win or are we going to keep it on Home soil as it were stats don’t lie look um true I mean to be fair fast slow was probably one of the best Irish horses beaten in the chelham handicap subsequently I think the point I’d like

To make as we move into the handicaps is that um very much this is where I think you should focus your attention I think that if you own a horse that runs well at the cheltam festival and you come away from that buzz I think potentially

You plot your way back there for 12 months time and this race in particular has thrown up horses that have run often in it um sometimes as many as five times in it before they eventually go and win it and so the hes that fulfill that category this time around do include an

Irish horse in the Goa mbay genius is the other obvious one hasn’t gone on this season is seven higher than um when third behind corak Rambler and fast or slow and the other interesting one who’s a very honest horse who I think will give you a good run for your money is I

Right G I’m going to swing this one over to you uh I do think JP mcmanis has a couple of really interesting horses in this Chad he could actually have a brilliant Festival this year if all the all the cards fall right from him killy and I know the way you’re thinking both

Of them have entries elsewhere but I know the way you’re thinking obviously is right up the tales of gay Warrior and El Tom at limi at Christmas that was a really good run he was tried in grade one company over hurdles didn’t run particularly well last time it was

Handicap debut but I don’t think there’s any doubt he is potentially well handicapped now that’s on his Irish Mark yes we’re talking here without seeing how much is going to be added on at the festival but the other one whose Mark we do know is kbil who was running very

Well when he fell here earlier on in the season in a race that I think Was Won by jinny’s Destiny who’s gone from strength to strength since then and didn’t run so well next time maybe he was feeling the effects of the fall but won a minor race

Pretty coely at exor last time onto the feature race on day one the champion hdle now news has just broken to us here that Constitution Hill is a significant doubt or major doubt for the race Gary I mean this makes statan a bit of a

Formality now right if stat man to me is a horse who’s good enough to win a champion herly anyway I didn’t think in my heart of hearts he’d beat Constitution Hill but I did think he’d make much more of a race of it with him this time around if they both went there

In their in the whole of their health so to speak on all the recent evidence if statan runs to the sort of level he has been doing that’ll be probably good enough if Conant Constitution Hill does Miss out statan will be the one to be

But I think it will throw up a few different as you say supplementary options i’ I’d love to supplement charger and I’d love to supplement imper pass with a pair of blinkers OD aely wild Rich’s got some ideas for you I yeah I just think you know this is

Your chance to win a a champion her could revolve around a horse that was only second favorite behind another horse and has now been presented with it so yeah I’ll be fascinated on four days beforehand who’s who’s going to throw horses into the ring that would have otherwise gone elsewhere um I think

We’re going to have a pretty quick discussion about the following race the mays the May’s Kate I’m going to start with you on this losty mouth dis she Inn yeah or no HS yeah I think she’s more of a certainty than Constitution Hill yeah

I I’m in the same boat as you Gary yeah and I think she’s actually a fair enough price if if you’re not afraid to back one that odds on at cheltam Chad of the there are a few in a similar sort of category pricewise and to me she’s the

Most H absolutely no worry whatsoever about the trip for her that’s the one issue that has been potentially raised by those that might be a little bit lukewarm Manor but I just I think she’ll be much too good come on then I’ll be the one that grabs this light go on call

Rich got so if you if you want to have a bet in the race then you probably want to think of what would be the most uncomfortable scenario for the horse that short price favorite and if there’s a question mark about lossy mouth getting the trip then it if it comes up

Really deep because ly mouth’s turn of foot was fantastic to the extent that you know many were wanting her put in the champion HD off the back of two miles now if it comes up really deep and it turns into a SLO then the horse that she made look very ordinary last time

Lenvo has a really decent chance of getting closer this is almost a state man and Constitution Hill argument again and at 14 to1 those form lines pretty strong there’s not that many lines that come out of different horses and love Eno each way at 14s particularly if it’s

A wet forecast I I think he every bit as good as losy ma thoughts on and Ross I’m going to come to you next for this yeah Marie’s Rock again I’m looking for something to be placed I think ly Mount will win uh Marie’s Rock handles the

Ground really well it’s you know we’ve had such a wet winter I think you know again it’s a wet week this week I think it’s going to be very soft uh she handles the ground well probably disappointed a little bit here last year but I think she was very good then later

On the year um and I think that at you know at 16 to1 you know you’re looking for an each way bat maybe she’s the one what about lantry lady wise soft ground would be a big plus for her as well she’s only run twice but just a little

Bit of a worry that the ground was so bad in Goran Park when she won that red Mills trial hurdle could it leave a mark I know there’s still probably a month between them but she’s only run twice before she does seem Grand dependent though Richard so that if if conditions

Did turn up up like that it would be a plus for her I don’t think she’d run actually on right good to sou prob um the 450 on the Tuesday is the Boodles the Boodles juvenile handicap hurdle known as the Fred winter to most of us

Um Irish got a strong hand yet again Ross I’m going to start with you um yeah the favorite is Joseph O’Brien’s lar in the morning the owner likes a plan uh he’s been sort of you know he was T his last run he you know it’s something like

They like plotting a race like this um so you can see why he’s you know short enough um the you know go down through it I don’t know whether Newberg a horse that’s been Rock Solid all year in Ireland H Joseph’s horse whether he’ll go for this race or he’ll go for the

Triumph he is a horse that was even staying on the last day when he was third and a good race to LEP down he has been Rock Solid all all year W in fairy house um I I like him and he’s you know it just depends what he goes to 16 to

One um Harry durhams horse give me five he was with Johnny M off the flat he’s an improver got beat the other day it’s a it’s a race that’s wide open it’s going to be you know you could mention 10 horses in this race you know the JP horse H

Milanoo Milan Milano what you like Richard you yeah I like Milano yeah Milano I think has got the credentials I like of early season forming France then we don’t see him for very often normally they come over and get trained in Ireland for one run yeah but the French

Breads I just always think they they’re Slicker they’ve got on with them early they’ve been jumping for long and obviously it’s the um he did all the donkey work here as well the last day like making the Run he you know he had the hard way last day here and I don’t I

I think this race I think they were sangin enough to realize he wasn’t going to win the Trum as a result this was always going to be the objective uh the last race on day one is the national hunt uh challenge for amateur jockeys um Richard I’m going to start with you

Embassy Gardens the want to beat yes absolutely um I do dip in and out of Irish racing you know what have you and and absolutely love him I think he’s beautiful horse jump soundly um from the Scottish perspective Apple away I would expect to run here but um I abely love

Emby Gardens as a horse and hopefully these sort of slight outliers of races this the the um cross country and what have you I think they often throw out more solid credentials of favorites than people give them credit for and um yeah it’s a niche it’s obviously short of

Four miles now but yeah yeah um he’s one of the Irish horses literally that yeah would be the top on my list to look to enjoy seeing In the Flesh I think he looks beautiful I think Corbett’s cross is a better horse than Embassy Gardens

To be honest with you um I know he’s quirky ran Keen here last year ended up going out through a wing at the last in the alabarda but I thought he was going to win to be honest um not ideal he got and it’s he down has fallen but he half

Got brought down in Frey house the last day by runw Fred in a small um field there was only four or five of them gu wasn’t there in the Chase and end yeah end up getting brought down at the fourth Las Derek rode him that day and

I’m sure Derrick will be on him again but um he’s classy horse he’s a good horse I think in he’s better hurdle form anyway and um I just I think he’ll definitely put it up to Patrick Gary Echo their sentiments very much so yeah I think myself and Katie are on the same

Page with this one Chad nothing against Embassy Gardens I really like the horse as well he’s taken to fences like a duck to water he’s got a real lovely way of going and he seems to be settling better but the bottom line is on all the evidence

Corbett’s cross is a classier horse than embc Gardens he was a graded winner over two miles over hurdles not that long ago uh whether he’d won here last year when he went out through the wing I don’t know I thought like Kate he might actually have won that day um but fair

Enough it’s not ideal that he was knocked over at fairy house last time but it was through no fault of his own some people have crabbed his jumping I think he’s a safe jumper rather than a bad jumper which mightn’t be any bad thing for race like this it’ll be handy

I think when it comes to conserving energy for the longer distance to me everything points to him DK o conell will be on board uh just by that mishap last time but I’d be surprised if if that comes back to hunt him Ross yeah

Car cross for me is my um Banker yeah he is a proper horse didn’t go to plan the last day he going to be ridden by the best amateur in the business I would have my doubts about MC Garden I think the occasion got him last year he ran

Way too free uh he pulled up and he is a horse that um I would be a little bit worried about cor cross yeah I think he is I think he’s a very good horse well that brings us nicely on to naps of the day for day one

Richard um I right in the Ultima I right he going to get boosted Gary will I go for the same or do I have to pick another one because it’s going to be Corbett’s cross you can go for Corbett’s cross as well we’ll just we’re going to

Look over to our team over there we’re going to have to really boost this one guys we’re going to have to double an extra boost double treble boost and if Casey’s going to do it then we’re we’re going to get filled in oh yeah I’m going to go

To thank you well you’re all if you corage cross yeah corage cross fans are in for a treats on to day two of the chelton festival now where obviously betway are the principal sponsor of the betway queen with the champion chase the feature race of the day we will get to

That shortly but we start off with the baron Bingham uh Gary I know we mentioned when we spoke about the Supreme that it’s wherever Bal burn goes he wins if Bal burn comes here he wins but if he doesn’t if Bal burn does doesn’t run in this maybe that might

Mean gidle Park will run here and I think he’d have a big chance if B burn doesn’t run but if B burn comes here saying this quite a lot gidley bark I think would have a great chance in the longer race I actually quite like I

Don’t know if he’s going to run this Ley Watson he ran in the lawers Danny wrote him that day um I thought he ran a bit keen and he lacked a bit of cover and I just thought he ran well for a horse that needed a bit of cover and I think

If he gets a bit of cover um he’s a massive price of 33 to one Ross yeah like the lawers form the lawers hotel form H the N form ties into a lot like you said Lecky Wason reading Tommy wrong and I think um I like him in ear horse I

Like I like reading Tomy he stays very well I thought he did it well in nce got to line well and for me obviously if Bal burn is is what way he goes he’s going to take all the beating but um I would say that for me I like the I like the

Maner horse and Richard um I’m throw in a real left field horse what we want um horse called jeno Blue Nikki Henderson’s now he’s the same ownership as Jango by who fluffed his lines in the Sydney Banks behind handstands and this is just a question of whether the handicapper is

Correct or not because there are not many horses that would win a handicap of 124 and they you would then put in for a conditions race or a graded race at at the festival but the handicap put him up £16 jco blue he belted every hurdle he

Ran Keen he did loads wrong and it would be an interesting move if they supplement or they switched around jeno blue rather than Jango by stuck Nico on and look it’s a throw at the stumps but he’s you know a big price jco blue for Richard then we’ll move on to the brown

Advisory it’s been recently noted that brown Factor file will run here as opposed to the Turners I think that’s the right decision Ross tipping William’s coming out two weeks before sheltonham and saying that he’s going to run here like it’s it’s a shock really because like he doesn’t do that he

Doesn’t do that like he never confirmed horse like that to say that he’s going to run here so it’s a big surprise I would say it’s going to be very hard to oppose fact to file I know it’s a bit boring he’s the favorite but I think

He’s a very very good horse and I think the tip in itself is Willie Mullins declaring that he’s going to run here two weeks before the race I’d say that was probably dve from JP saying that’s where we’re going to go I’d suggest um Richard look fact file you know has I

Think the the performance last time was obviously very difficult to assess but the clock suggested that they’ve been going hell for leather and part of the reason GC Warrior possibly stopped quite so fast was that they’d been a very genuine race for pace for a two- Runner

Contest so I don’t think that holds water about knocking that stay away faay is a good solid stayer yeah but the Albert Bart is a notably grueling race that’s run on a different more stiffer track and My worry is that even though stay away F would have learned an awful

Lot by running an open company last time that he just gets outpaced at the wrong time so this becomes relatively simple and I think Factor fire will outclass or outspeed rather outclass stay away fate might be different if they met in a Gold Cup in 12 months time I actually have a strong

View of the best of the rest in this and my my fancy would be gray Dawning I was really impressed by what he did at war in a race that was won by Runner quite a good Gallop he just sat on the Tails of the two horses in front and picked them

Off very very easily he made a crucial mistake here earlier on in the season when I think he might have won against jinny’s Destiny as well you’re just wondering now at Factor files definitely being pointed here will he Dro back to the Turners it’s another of those

Imponderables but if he if he stays on course for the brand Advisory i’ fancy him to be best of the rest and I think he might be worth looking at without the favor if he pitches up here the the next race on the card is the coral cup um I

Think we’re going to go seven places on this yeah so this is plenty of this is the one this is the one this is the one Ross and as as it’s the one Ross I’m going to start with you yeah I have uh um there’s a horse in it that s and

Katie have been watching but I got got in there before Chad I’m delighted you said to me H Bal Adam only beaten four length last year in the county hardle uh he’s 25 to1 seven places um off a similar Mark T and Leone the last day we

Know he galloped last week galloped very well and I think he is a dark horse in this race the other two and these both hold other entries as well Doddy the great who unfortunately Nikki Henderson’s been talking up and so as a result by time we get to the end of the

Preview season the value’s gone the most interesting horse and again he holds entries in three handicaps um is Springwell Bay who I don’t think stays three miles they did qualify him for the PMS by finishing second and getting beaten at musra he’s also in both the PMS which he’s qualified and also the

Martin pipe um but I genuinely think he’s a very nice horse he won here early on in the season and things just haven’t quite worked out subsequently and uh I like him a lot and if he ran here I’d be very very respectful of him but there

Isn’t if us to what his Target would be KY and I know Ross said it you and you and him have been keeping an eye on this horse Ross Ross has stolen your homework do you know there’s nothing written on those pieces of paper he

Has um I like B Adam I think spring of the Year definitely shines comes here has good form around here and I think he’s a mive price there we go Baden I thought doy the great was the solid one Chad I think he’ll relish going up in

This distance put in some good light work in the BF hurdle last time out at newb the two that dominated that race were well ahead of their marks but he almost caught God Dante for third they were quite closely matched on form earlier on in the season as well and

He’s quite lightly raced and obviously we don’t know how the Irish horses are going to be treated in terms of air marks Chad but we know Dy the great Mark and I think that’s one he can definitely make his presence felt off here particularly with the extra places just

To mention the anti POS faite fascinating horse called Sam aest as far as I’m aware The Mullins camp feeli that his Mark isn’t going to be changed too much compared to home and if that is the case well he’d have to be of automatic interest he’s very very

Hard horse to assess he’s only I think run four times all told won a low-key Affair at limr last time you get the feeling obviously there there could be a big day for him this potentially could be it but I think doy the great a solid option against them nice so we’ll move

On now to the feature race on day two the bet Way Queen Mother Champion chase our 10th year of sponsoring this Showcase Event uh Richard I’m going to start with you this time uh this is seemed to open up this race because last year it seemed be of a one or racing the

Year before with auramine Will’s obviously got the his Juggernaut rolls on because as an uraman goes off he’s got L Fabiola readymade favorite who is unbeaten over fences and is one-1 in his clashes with John Bon yeah and that’s the that’s the point I don’t think

There’s quite as much between them as as historically as the market suggest and that’s sort of the recency Biance aspect of the wful round of jumping that John Bon put in when everything went went pearshaped but if you look at John Bon over the course of his career that I

Think is a blemish that could easily be fixed a bit of schooling um it may well be that Nico’s back in the saddle and I I don’t think there’s as much between them I’m not so sure that you can label John Bal as by far the worst jumper of

Those two if you see what I mean the fabola justes have a a tendency to do well he’s very he finds legs and he does everything right but I don’t know just historically f nine three to one sort of yeah and you have to jump in this race

Yeah you know it’s all about jumping I like him I think he’s like he’s huge absolutely huge he’s very long and he can definitely look a bit awkward okay but I thought in lepon the last day early throughout the race he was a bit you know he’s kind of he’s got quite a

Long front on him and he carries his head quite low and I’d imagine he’s very heavy-handed you know and I’d say he takes a bit of organizing but I still think then when you really want them second part of the wor when you’re striding on he’s at his best yeah and I

Think Paul’s afraid to let him set him a light early doors because he doesn’t want them to be in front you know what I mean CU I think when he gets in front and he gets set a light he’d be too keen and um I think what I do think when he

Really wants him it’s it’s all there and Gary who’s going to be presented with this I think it will be Al Fabiola connections Chad to be honest um I yeah over the piece maybe not a huge amount between himself and John Bon I do think he is slightly the better horse but just

As prep runs go for cheltam and I say a prep run at six weeks ago but John Bon’s run here to me is the last sort of run you’d want a horse to have as a warm-up for the chelton festival to have such a hard race to get back into contention it

Was a real gut burster the noises from the camp seem to be pretty positive since then hopefully he will be restored to his best and and pitches up and brings his aame but even if he does that and that would definitely be at the back

Of my mind I think that will leave him a little bit shy of el fabiolo Edward Stones win last time really I think has brought another dimension to the race and I hope even if he doesn’t make the running I hope he at least maybe sits second or third if there’s something

Determined to go forward but again with him that run last year here is kind of hard to shake as well I thought he’d put it up to anuram in here last year and he never turned up at all I’m not sure the ground was in his favor so if we get

Testing ground for chel the worst arle in history it probably wasn’t the greatest addition to say the least exactly if we get testing ground here that might be another negative so he’s a horse I do do really like Edward Stone and he was a great side at Newber last

Are um obviously Noble eights as well you know what I mean I think Mando for me um I thought he ran well here talk to well the last day and I think um as much as they’d love to pick this up bit like tiger R over the years and that I do

Think that um it’s a stepping on a stepping stone for a lot of these horses for entry but this would be a juicy bonus along the way wouldn’t it would it really would Gary Glenn faers chess kti’s made a great point there Chad so many of these are going to be going for

The Grand National or or the connections have an eye on the Grand National and I suppose it’s a question of who’s going to have turned the screw most for this race while still trying to leave a little bit in reserve for anry I was coming down on the side of Galvin

Thought he ran a smashing race over hurdles last time in the bo hurdle at Navin uh stayed on well in the closing stages obviously ran a Blinder in the race here last year as well I think he might be Gordon Elliot’s best chance this time just get the impression Delta

Work who’s never been the easiest of horses to train I think Gordon’s done a good job kind of getting as much ad of him as he has over the years maybe he as he gets older he’s maybe just getting that little bit more difficult to to

Keep he’s 11 though is he yeah exactly yeah just keep him absolutely where he wants him whereas Galvin to me I think he might he might be maybe a little bit more straightforward in that regard and with the experience behind him he’s the one I’d go with and isn’t Coco Beach a

His races but one here in the Autumn time so he has course experience um he’s he’s got better as he’s got older like he’s improved he’s lot of ability he’s just not straightforward and on ratings he’s not good enough but I definitely think he would be could be in the first

Tree what I really against is You Know M will tell me that you know should be a handicap it shouldn’t be a handicap this is you know this is to Crown your Champions and so as a result just make it slightly more interesting handicap really good horses and I think Galvin

Recovery not ideal to be coming into race like this after just the one start but he looked a natural over fenes today he won at wari uh kilb King who’s a smart horse was back in third that day the runner-up did disappoint a couple of times afterwards but he actually won a

Handicap just at the weekend at CMT and go golden son which was pretty topical when it comes to boosting the form he’s not really a giveaway I don’t think at about 5 to1 11 to2 currently but he is a horse who obviously has won at a chelton

Festival already he looks to have plenty of upside nothing against the favorite really like jy’s Destiny very very tough very Progressive obviously a similar type of horse to Stage star who W it last year but aoko might just be able to improve past him I think Katie any

Thoughts on the Turners yeah I mean um I like the top horse I mean he’s after winning three times around here he operates around here um he’s Progressive and definitely going the right direction and um I think um I think he’s probably the one that they all have to beat just

Two stats here so JP’s runers a two from two in the last five years gar that’s a good one for you okay um not so good for jinny’s Destiny 12 of the last 13 winners were age six or seven and jinny’s Destiny is eight Ross swing

Around to you I like J Destiny obviously he’s in the other race as well I think kby Paul Nichols best chance of a winner during the week um he’s like I said he’s won his course form he looks a very decent horse um I’m not going to be yeah

I think he’s the horse for me uh Richard a couple and you may be able to tell me whether they going to run or not um zanah here zanah here run here possibly he hasn’t looked a natural Chaser to be fair but one last time last

Time yeah he’s he’s not the most fluent of jumpers from what I’ve seen but at the same time the hores was running up against over hurdles you know would suggest that in terms of ability this is not a strong race and the other one is of course imagine who changed hands

Harry with Harry darham I’m not sure whether the intention is to is to run would assume so but again you know young train like Harry surely be encouraging proba B to have a runner in I would have thought so and you know one thing Harry has done as improve horses in his care

He has so you know if you’re looking for slight I’d much rather be backing an outsider here short price and imagine and here are both well into double figures so a couple of names we’ll move on to the next race the PMS six of the last eight

Winners have run in the leopard toown qualifier um and that brings in gay gay Quil I’m going to have to pronounce that one correctly can I listen can I take notes Here you say you’ll probably do a better job from I doubt that very much

Another the wait to right today I’m not too sure what she has but um yeah the plan is to come here and um it doesn’t look listen who knows but um looking down through it um I think she definitely has her chance and I wouldn’t

Swap a FR else and have you got a preference or any thoughts on the race well there’s three in here um Springwell Bay who I’ve already mentioned I’m really hoping goes for the coral cup Highland is an interesting one because Highland two and a half miles wouldn’t

Have been far enough last time at aset has form over three miles and this is my favorite chham horse of the last few years mil green mil GRE mil green is an absolute hero he gets placed not just here he gets placed at inry 21 Runner

Handicaps he comes there as if it’ll be his day yeah and I called him somewhere the other day and he traveled into the race every bit as good as he’s ever done before so he’s always a huge price I mean he’s placed something like six times in chelham and angry handicaps and

He’s never been shorter than 16 to one really so what’s that he’s he’s a fantastic horse and so I don’t see any reason not to give him a chance particularly as the quality’s been thinned out slightly I think he’s two pounds higher than when he ran in the

Race 12 months ago 140 he’s getting on a little bit in years but um I just love the horse so yeah milg green heart ruling head slightly and Highland is the other one who you can make a good case for Ross any thoughts on the as obviously K mentioned G cool which we

Have a good association with um look going down through it like it’s wide open each way money again each way bets really um I would say maybe a horse of alen Kings in mitton in mitt is it yeah a horse that was just tched off in a

Stairs hurdle a couple years ago um has come back into form um won a new in his last run and he has a goodish enough Mark might be har getting on a little bit he’s 10 you know so but again he’s going to be a big twice and you might be

Backing them at Big at Big prices and then just backing them each way with how many places I think in this pemp we’re going to go six six places so it’s again it’s it’s one of those races that you’re going to try and look for a bit of value

Yeah and we might even push that to seven depending on how many Runners we get but we will do that nearer to the time Gary I think G cool is definitely the solid one Chad she’s the one to be I I think she’ll be right in the mix for

The walshes and I’m sure she’ll give a good account of herself the one who I think could be the handicap lot is iar Allen yeah qualified for this all the way back in November at anry and it looks as though he’s been put on Ice since then so he’s got his Mark 142

There shouldn’t be too many surprises when the weights come out very classy horse on his days profile has been a bit patchy maybe over the past 12 months or so but the run at entry was encouraging it looks as though he does stay the trip

Okay and he’s the one I’d be going with so we’ll move on from that to the Ryan Air so we almost have two feature races on the Thursday with the Ry in the stairs we’ll start with the Ryan Air Katie I’m going to come to you first

Wide open contest again this year really yeah it is wide open um I’m a fan of NY Allen um operates around here was good here last year I think it’s wide open uh The Vibes there he’s in good Nick and um I just think he operates well around

Here and I think he’ll be um he make a good account for himself could capano running this I think he does he yeah I think they said he was going to to the National yeah you know and um uh as it is such a wide open Affair

Um I thought he was good the last day I thought he was very good at Christmas time third in a grade one and um he was good the last day he’s definitely hor has going the right direction but um NV Allen has to have his chance again I

Don’t think there’s a huge amount of depth to this race capano is actually my fancy for the Grand National but I wouldn’t be shocked if he went very close to winning this on Route which would be I suppose an orthodox route to take for a Grand National Contender but

He’s a very classy horse and his they to me he had that race here last time the cell Chase won mil up yeah a long long way from home and he’s most importantly connect to getting a clear run with him this season he didn’t make it to the

Track until February last season this time around he’s put together a series of good runs it may well all be building to the Grand National but as I say I don’t think that can preclude him from running a big race here first no I’m more of in the Eno Island camp with ktie

I think um like I said his record speak for itself he’s he’s Rock Solid there’s a couple of horses that have just kind of Fallen like capano I again I’m saying for the National Horse he’s he’s a horse that I taught he very good run in leown

Um appreciate his form like I appreciate it was a horse D like was always tipped up in all the Races they kept going back to him kept going back to him but his kind of f has wavered in the last two runs his dis very disappointed in tles

The last day um I’m I’m in the N Allen Camp the one I think is overpriced is Hitman yes from an each way perspective yeah he ran he wouldn’t have stayed and he was be weakened race last year he was placed in the race last year only beaten

Three lengths by in alen and shishkin and he doesn’t finish his races off strongly but he’s still as big as 16 20es to one I think so um I just think he’s overpriced in relation to some of the other horses we’ll move on next to the feature race on day three the

Stayers hurdle Katie I’m going to come to you first for your view and opinion on the race please um I like T poo um I think he appreciates cutting the ground um you know you you thought maybe he um got outstayed here last year which I was

Quite surprised at because I thought he was a very strong stayer but um yeah he’s done nothing wrong this season he was good the last day and um I think now you know there was chat T and Irish Point are both going to running this race but obviously since no one knows

What’s going to happen with Constitution Hill maybe Irish point will go down that road so um it’s a wide open Affair off the back of that um and I think T is probably the best ARS in the race go I’d agree with that I think tupo is

Definitely the one to beat Chad crambo is a very Progressive horse difficult to know where his ceiling is going to be but it is going to demand a fair bit more of him to win a stayers hurdle at a bigger price if you can forgive his run

Last time and I think in the circumstances you probably can’t home by the Lee would have an each-way chance at a big price he just hated having to make his own running at leopard hand he was bow and idle wouldn’t be shocked if maybe they tried something different

With headgear on him at the festival here he’d have an eway chance and with the pieces on the board moving around all the time maybe if Irish Point comes out maybe floring Porter might come in yes do winner of the race we have to have a good chance again of at

Least getting into the frame but I’m with tupo he’s been kept back for this after winning the hatton’s grace hurdle sounds like he might go on to France afterwards if all goes well which would be would be exciting too and look I thought last year I thought last year

Was One That Got Away to be honest to me he was the best horse in the race and hopefully he can make amends and I mean the stat that goes for the favorite is that in 35 rals only four winners were nine or older and that does rule out

Lots of them last year’s winner was 11 when he won it um but that does it’s hugely in the favor of tupo with ag on his side and I’m with the lads the same it’s hard to look past the favors um maybe flooring Porter to switches like

You said and back over hardles um but I can’t past past the favors no Richard I don’t really like the division as a whole in terms of the sense it’s it’s great competitive but in terms of quality yeah um it could be a battle of the Zimmer frames and I don’t really see

Any reason why you know if you wanted to throw a small stake on even Dash or Dasa who didn’t quite last like the hill you got Paisley Park you’ve got side of berlay they’ve all been here floring Porter even to some degree you know i’

I’d rather be in that sort of camp but it is a weak Division and it is open for a tupu or someone to really stamp The Authority but we’ve thought that about a few horses over the years in this division it just hasn’t happened and champ was one of the few years

Absolutely you know you still have the finishes between B parks and you so i’ I’d throw a you know a wide one at one at one of those we’ll move on to the next race the plate the truster trader plate handicap Chase uh Richard I’m going to start with you this time really

Competitive at this stage to to look through a handicap like this right yeah it is yes I mean James to berlay is a horse that I quite like and seems to be nice and consistent but your worry is obviously that he’s probably exposed a little bit but he’s run okay in the past

Um is it saf far who was second to qu sauce looked an interesting Runner yeah James de or safur but this was yeah this is difficult it’s wide open and just for some more stats the last five winners of this race had won at chelam that season

And four of the last six winners were five to one or shorter so Ross any thoughts on the plate play is wide open again um uh eway places this is the race again uh there is a horse of gardens that ran well over hles the last day um

Belonged to Philip Reynolds ran I think he’s his only entry in the race um he’s a that’s defitely wor uh look at again ran well the last day leopard down um and I think he’ll be a good eway price he ran with d racing Festival so for me

Maybe something similar like that you’re going each way in this race again Gary yeah the stand out for me at this stage Chad would be kbil who is favorite spoke about him earlier on he’s in the ultim I think as well but maybe the fact that

He’s well clear at the top of the market for this means this is where he’ll go and you mentioned some of the horses who’ve won this and landed punts in the past unexposed horses the shunter the Storyteller was another one yes this guy kind of falls into that category too it

Does the shunter Storyteller went in under DAV Russell that’s right yeah good good memories good memories and we’ll move on to the Ryan a May’s novices hurdle it seems like everybody in Ireland thinks this brighter days ahead is a god-given certainty I think it’s the the quote I’ve heard number of times

Coming from from the other side of the Irish sea Gary have you heard this I I’ve heard the vibes from the C CH and there’s no doubt she’s a hugely exciting mayor unbeaten in five starts a certainty wouldn’t go that far I think this is a very strong addition of this

Race yeah Jade deui has looked theart in her two wins for Willie at leopard’s ten of fairy house dier Enos has looks as though she’s been been campaigned at a slightly lower level to stay away from penalties I’d find it hard to have a strong view on this from a betting

Perspective just now it does look a really good race though and I’m I’m really looking forward to seeing who comes out on top perfect ktie so I mean Gordon’s May is very short even though she’s a model of consistency and there’s been great support behind her and

There’s been loads of chat but this won’t be any easy easy um what’s the word I’m looking for it won’t be a penalty kick anyway no and um it is it is competitive um willly May is a good mer too like I think I think she she listen she deserves to be

Favorite but I don’t think she’s going to have it all her own way the the key line about D side in um winning the bumper is that it threw up a massive amount of subsequent winners that’s a really really good strong um mayor’s race that comes from

From mree gold a was second that day and golden a was a 40 to1 chance but has been very impressive actually well move on now to the last race on the Thursday the Kim Gary I’m going to start with you um I know it’s wide open at this point

Really competitive race as it ever is but what have you got any fancy cuz did you really fancy Stumptown last year didn’t you I think it was a big nap from you I actually thought TOS a coin almost between sometime and Angel’s tone and for once Chad I got it right but for

Once I do think there’s a standout horse in this year now I haven’t seen what Mark he’s got over here as yet but a horse called persal leg galwa who fell on his last run at leopard at the Dublin racing Festival he was upsides at the time actually ran from out of the

Handicap that day so with the hike that he got he’s effectively at home anyway only 2 pounds higher 144 got one for four okay so he’s just crept in that is a few pounds higher than back home but I still think he’s well handicapped enough to win Ross any thoughts because

Ross you were on the other side you on Angel’s Dawn I was I really fed Angel’s Dawn last year she’s up 10 pound I’ve been following her again closely this year like she had a run over hles and clell ran well ran well in the test days she’s tough she stays well she

Definitely handles very soft ground um whether Weight Wise uh it’s going to catch up with her this year she’ll still be banged there she’ll be there she’s going to be placed she can’t be out the first tree and I’m going to stick with her Richard any thoughts on this is this

Where good time JY will turn up well this is it this is it this is where he turns up now and I think the relative Mark is still is significantly lower isn’t it um CH where he 140 I believe his so his Chase Mark um 142 is his

Run but was when he finished um fifth at leopard’s down it was you know showed that he still had plenty of ability and um yeah maybe that’s the target for him k um good time Johnny I think this is a good competitive Kim y good time Johnny

Angel’s Dawn and gra cromwell’s horse um fell the last day obviously in Le at at the last but I said this probably been the plan and um I think uh um I’d like to be riding good time Johnny actually to be honest with you riding quietly taking towards Tak I’d love to hunt

Around now for Tony plenty of pace in the race pick them up up the straight somewhere bit like what you did relegate oh that’s in black and white now Chad it’s a long time ago now I’m just going to trouble you for naps on day three please I’m going

To start with you rich your toils can I have an each way can I have Hitman each way in the of course you can than you Envoy Allan envo and two in the r air I’ll go persal galwa and the Kim galwa I’m going to go M Allen we move on

Now to the final day of the week the chelam Gold Cup Day celebrating 100 years of the Great race this year we’ll start on the first race of the day the Triumph Nikki Henderson has won this race for seven times or seven times he’s going to win it again for the eighth

Katie with Serino yeah been very impressive done nothing wrong um think willly har is a good horse to marbar uh ran well Le the last day big horse big scopy horse but uh yeah I think sergino is W for me Gary he’s a really exciting horse Chad

Um just a couple of things I think are worth bearing in mind though um majbur I think if you look at the figures probably ran to a higher level yes on his first run for Willie Mullins than Serino did on his first one for Nikki Henderson so if mabra takes the same

Step forward from run one to two that Serino did well all of a sudden it would make me think twice about backing Serino at ODS on anyway and then we’ve had a couple of other horses kind of come on the scene salver has impressed me still looks maybe mentally as though he could

Do it sharpening up but yeah not beyond the beyond the conditions could come right for him with all the rain we’ve had absolutely there was a horse came out of nowhere to win in Ireland the other day W of grade three botler secret now he’s still a big price for this he

Probably won’t be good enough but all of a sudden he’s come into the Reckoning as well we have lost bird at road but there’s enough meaningful opposition in there just to make me a little bit cautious about taking the short price bet you know he’s by far the most likely

Winner he was brilliant here last time I actually thought after that race well there’s the Triumph winner but just the way mjar ran and the Improvement Willie Mullins can sometimes get from run runs one to two with a horse who’s come from France and been off the track a long

Time it maybe just not quite cut and dry it as yet no I’m a big fan of mat I thought he ran great great race first him up at at the Dublin racing Festival again we were stood watching it and there’s been plenty of chat about him

Before the race in leopardstown he was going to improve I think Bon Road might have underperformed in chelam to makeo look more impressive um I if for me mar mar Marboro um was I think to me yeah like I said an improver I I be taking out a

Race as well the the prices at the moment we’re we’re currently six to1 on that so it’s each way better definely Richard not many grade One races have we chatted about who favorite from the UK um um yeah I I don’t don’t see any reason to look Beyond him they finished

In the Heap in Ireland Mar was definitely the most eye-catching of them so yeah I’m just happy to weigh in with everyone else I but I do think Cino he was very strong at the finish his jumping was much better here last time I do think veret Ro was a sort of flat

Track bully and a flat horse but at the same time he’s he’s just a nice big physical hor and yeah right we’ll move on to the county hurdle I’ll start with my selectionist which is B alisto um trained by Willie Mullins brought down the last time traveling really well but

I just think he’s well handicapped on what he’s shown Gary I’m going to come to you first for your selections in a county hurdle he’d definitely be on my short list Chad he was quite strong in the market that day too I think it wasn’t the at leopards then so which

Would suggest connections feel that he might have a little bit up up his sleeve baric O Lord I mean I don’t know whether this is the plan or not but I certainly don’t think he’s handicapped out things off his revised Mark for winning the that fair hurdle last time

He’s won two of the biggest handicap hurdles of the season I doubt he’s actually too far below grade one class sobero Lord he’s probably a grade two horse at the very least he could easily win this two other Irish horses I’d throw into the mix king of kingsfield and absurd two novices

They were third and fourth in the grade one at leopard’s Town last time be interested to see how the British handicappers assess them as far as their can’t here is concerned but absurd was a big eye-catcher that day he looked I don’t know was raw the word maybe

Unprofessional at times in his hurling career up to that point but maybe that was the first sign that he’s starting to grow up a little bit in terms of national hunt racing and he’s a very interesting Runner I think if he if he comes along here Katy

Yeah I’m McGary I like king king’s feeling absurd um classy horse absur went down to um the Melbourne cup traveled super actually travel like the winner when he turned which just didn’t quite see it out um was running a bit Keen when he came back but he’s

Definitely settled a lot better I think the last day is more professional and I just think there’s more to come from him I think he’s a classy horse and I think if he switches off and hunts around well he’ll come home well in this race I’m a king of kings Fields fan I
