In today’s video I’m going to be sharing a technique with you that will give you more speed and power while making you look smooth and cool stay tuned you’re watching the over-the-top miracle swing good morning guys let’s talk about the golf swing now Jake nap did an
Amazing job last weekend winning on the PGA tour with a slap release he’s a long hitter I saw him flying balls well over 300 like 318 and this slap technique is used by golfers like Sam Sneed I pointed out in my last video Freddy Couples I’m gonna
Point out in today’s video okay I just watched a video last night of Phil Mickelson who was talking about chipping he was talking about fast hands versus Slow Hands and what he said is when he chips he wants to drag the hand meaning he wants his hands moving fast
Related to the club head Slow Hands he said is when you allow the club head to pass the hands that’s how you create whip at the bottom of your swing now I’m going tell you guys a a sweet story yesterday I played the first nine holes
With my daughter ever I have a little girl named Evie she’s 11 years old we’ve hit golf balls for a long time she’s done some junior golf camps but it was the first time I went out on the golf course with her to play nine holes and I
Wanted to work on getting her to allow her arms to fall and work with gravity because she has a tendency to want to swing the arms hard you know all the bad things that that golfers do and so I played very calmly and I just wanted to
Keep stressing to to let her work to harness the forces in the golf swing and not to overpower power them I shot 35 and she was just like you know how do how do you do that and I’m like you know You’ got to work with it now two holes
Eie made double bogey from the ladies tea from the red tea you know she had always played from the super forward kids te’s before but we played from the ladies tea and she she was hitting it great and had several several good holes but it it was really wonderful to see
Because like the whole point of what I’m talking about is you have to learn to harness the forces in the golf swing so I have this little V watch this how it goes around the corner at the bottom that’s what we want to have is that that whip when we turn the
Corner so give this a try let the handle stop and allow the club head to whip past your hands through the hit fool around with it make a smooth transition and as always go over the top okay guys let’s take a look at Jake nap’s smooth golf
Swing man that is just delicious smooth power now he can fly this ball like you know 320 that’s just incredible all right so let’s take a look look at this a little bit closer so what we’re going to see here is he’s got a super long back swing and a high right
Elbow I would call that the quarterback move man that is a long back swing but the thing I want to talk about specifically is the throw so he has to allow the club head to throw past his handle okay you can see how quickly he’s releasing that club through the Impact Zone
And that’s the thing I’ve been talking about most recently when I put out my video slap it like sne see look at how quick he Rec coocks that wrist this is the hinge and re hinge move here around the corner so you’ll see Sam Sneed does
This that’s what my last video was about it’s what I’m exploring right now so here we can see Sneed we’ll also see that whip right down through the impact let’s watch it one more time where he’s allowing that club head to whip past the handle and of course
One of my alltime favorites is boom boom Another super smooth swinger so all these guys have a Hallmark of being super long and super smooth and that’s what I love about this style of swinging so let’s watch this now I want to point out as boom boom throws this club head
Down through the ball perfectly straight he throws that right hand let’s look at this right hand and then a lot of times you’ll see a lot of face rotation not through impact but long after the ball’s gone so we’re going to see that toe it’s square square square all through here but
There’s so much energy being thrown that the hands are going to roll over and there’s going to be a lot of post imp flip which is perfectly fine okay now let’s take a look at some of my swings where I’m working on this with my contact now this is a nice little angle
Over here from the side we can see that this club head is being thrown by my right hand around the corner making a nice little stripe here um out here on the driving range now here we can see me going around the corner so one of the secrets of the
Over-the-top miracle swing is we have to have a deep takeaway to the inside but we also have to have a deep inside follow through we can’t be swinging out down the line towards the target we have to turn the corner and that’s going to keep pressure on the
Shaft and that’s going to allow us to make solid contact Time After Time here we are making a new stripe that’s a blue golf ball I haven’t really seen that before now the thing that’s really really fun about this this slap release is the speed I feel down at the bottom at
Impact and there’s also kind of a a freeing aspect a a loosening in my wrists and hands you can see that nice balanced finish there where I’m not fighting the forces in the golf swing I’m harnessing the forces in the golf swing and to me this is really nirvana
In golf you can see me sticking that that finish in my left foot that’s what we want we want to be able to turn the corner in perfect balance while creating speed and power that’s the goal of the over-the-top miracle swing and it wasn’t until I learned to go Ott that I was
Able to acquire that really solid lead foot post impact where I’m in perfect balance at at the top so here I am I just wanted to show you my setup into this golf ball here and I’m just checking a couple things making sure I have good flexion at my
Waist and there we can see that speed and balance that I’m looking for so I feel that my inside takeaway gives me momentum that slows down at the top kind of like the slowing of a roller coaster and then I want to speed up gradually as my arms fall in the down
Swing so let’s watch a few more of these golf swings here okay guys I hope you’ll take this technique to the range allow the Club head to speed up past the handle through impact but make sure you keep your body turning and if you’d like to learn more

This is what Steve Pratt advocates. He was taught this move by Mike Austin. One of the longest hitters ever even though they used wood headed drivers in his day. Steve calls it the flap and slap and says start immediately from the top and as long as you shift your weight towards the target it's not a cast. Love both your content.
Those classic swing aids like Swing Rite that have a weight that click at the bottom are good for practicing this move.
Daughter has a nice swing Christo….
How does an OTT swinger recocile this with the premise of left with loft? A deep dive into this could be interesting. Perhaps, it is just a natural release of the club due to momentum.
When I focus on this I deliver a lot of loft and hit it way too high. Have you experienced this at all?
The IA from golf Fix application say a deep and inside take away is a mistake but i swing like that 🤣.
I also noticed more golfers are raising their hands to more like a single plane swing.
My comfortable swing is with the flying elbow to get the whip effect. I need to work on lateral side bend on the way down to avoid coming over the top which results in a left hook for me. Great vid, as always, Christo!
This is video of him playing a round of golf with his brother shows a really cool view of his release in action https://youtu.be/B3u2nOZIxJU?t=144.
My take on this is that the ideal thing to concentrate on is that trail elbow position 1) related to the trail hip and 2) related to the lead elbow. Recall Moe Normans video where he mentions his, and Hogans, secret of the trail elbow being right under the lead elbow (“you could drive a truck through here…”), and how Hogan has a fantastic move of bringing his trail elbow back to inside his trail hip and rotating around from there. With that trail elbow position it keeps the lag until the whip release, and the face is square as long as it can be before closing due to the relative elbow positions at that point of the swing. I don’t think consciously concentrating on the release is the way to consistency, I still think concentrating on the elbow positions during the body lead swing and letting everything else happen is the way to go.
Unloading the left wrist at the top is key. This is how Bobby Jones swung. You should feel drawing a perfect circle with the clubhead and that the clubhead is floating in space thru impact.

Hi Christo, I’ve genuinely struggled with my ball striking for 2 years. One of my best friends strongly recommend I study your methods( which I did all of last week). I hit 90 balls on the practise ground on Friday. Shot -1 for 9 holes on Saturday then -1 for 18 holes today. I stuck to the process the whole time – never wavered once. 5 yard fades and straight balls were common place!
The Open Championship is in my hometown of Troon, Scotland in July. If you’re in town for it I want to buy you a beer as thanks.⛳️🍺👍🏽
These guys have perfect eye hand coordination and are able to manipulate their swing always to perfect results. Are amateurs able to achieve good results with these swings? Absolutely! Can they be consistent with these swings? I doubt it. Future will tell if Knapp can be consistent.
I see, what I consider a slight concave backswing plane. Thoughts?
