LIV Golf Captains Jon Rahm (Legion XIII) and Bryson DeChambeau (Crushers) aired their frustrations with the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) after LIV Golf announced that they had withdrawn their bid to receive rankings points after multiple attempts to reconcile with the OWGR.

Uh I haven’t talked to anybody about this or seen any responses but I’m going be honest I didn’t know they were still trying to get world ranking points uh but the one thing I can say is I’m going to go back to what I said two years ago in in in the DP

World Tour Championship uh I didn’t think it was a good system back then and if anything it’s a the more time that goes on the more it proves to be wrong uh if anybody in this world for example doesn’t think wo deserves to be on the

Top 10 or doesn’t know that is a top player in the world I don’t know what game you’re watching right so um we can tell I think anybody who watches golf content who the best players in the world are and obviously I don’t think the the ranking is OB is reflective of

That right now to its entirety yeah I mean there’s a lot of ways you can think about it um certainly from certain people’s perspectives oh they you know we came over here and uh we don’t deserve to have ranking points for whatever their reasons are um is it

Right I don’t know I just think what’s right is in the best interest of the game and we should focus on having the best players at the majors and continue to have that uh around the game of golf is only important to grow the game of

Golf and to make the game of golf continue to be as relevant as relevant as it is now and even more in the future so what I think about it is we need to find a collective way all the governing bodies everybody come together sit down

And figure this out because we need to do this for the fans if they wanted to make this system right it should have been done a year and a half ago when you know we acquired the Mina tour and we had that exemption category or not exemption but we had that category for

Them to get world ranking points and we became a part of that tour and um pretty much came into alignment there with being able to acquire owgr points and they didn’t allow us to have that we we’ve tried to fulfill every category and you know even going to 72 holes too

Um I mean the Min tour is already getting points owgr points from from the M tour and they’re 54 holes so anybody’s conversation on that can go right out the window and um you know the cut thing I mean there there’s numerous things they brought up

And it’s like we can solve for all that just tell us what to do and you know nothing’s been nothing’s gone so anyway it is what it is and at this point we just need to figure out how to get all the bodies come together and figure out

What the best system is for the game of professional golf moving forward God I haven’t given it that much thought to be honest but our job shouldn’t be to make the rules or impose the rules or Force the rules we’re here and to entertain and to

Shoot a low score and hopefully give you and The Spectators what they want to watch that’s right it’s the governing body’s job to be doing this uh and be adaptable to the changing environment that’s that’s I think the the best way I can explain it okay it’s well said

  1. Liv don’t get points because they’re a closed shop there is no way to qualify to play, so no Bryson liv don’t meet all the criteria, dozens of people earn a pha tour card by playing well every year

  2. They knew the status and they went for the money. Sick of their whining, entitled statements starting with norman and all the rest including the rahm. shut up go away and stop trying to destroy the game that allows you this privileged lifestyle.

  3. LOL…Brandle said it best: LIV players knew when they left the PGA that LIV needed 2 years worth of events in order to qualify for OWGR. And LIV still doesn't qualify for rankings because the PGA tours play more golf between Sept and the middle of Jan every year than LIV plays all year long.

  4. I think the Masters ought to introduce loud rock music and reduce the event to 54 holes … nah, 36 holes. Then everybody will be happy. LIV doesn’t like tradition so bingo!

  5. You guys left to have more time with your families…. So let’s get some popcorn 🍿 and grab the kids and hit the couch! Enjoy watching the majors ….

  6. Personally I couldn't care less, they knew there was no world ranking when they left, stop complaining about it, they act like spoilt children. Ignoring wether LIV is a good product or not, it has deeply divided and hurt golf for all of us, I fully respect their decision to take the money, to have more personal time, but with that came consequences, this being one of them.

  7. Both of those guys decided to take a huge payday instead of playing on the PGA tour, basically they took the money and want to change the rules. They have no interest in whats in the best interest of the game…

  8. OWGR is a joke. If the majors don’t have LIV players in them because of OWGR then it’s their loss. Viewership for the majors will follow the same freefall the PGA tour is seeing. LONG LIVE LIV!

  9. They knew the consequences when they left and they left for one reason money so just take your money go play your 54 holes and stop complaining. It’s not like majors have locked out all liv players and the majority of liv guy’s aren’t good enough to play in them anyway.

  10. If a PGA Tour event is shortened to 3 rounds due to bad weather they get OWGR points. If they have a Tiger and friends exclusive invite event in the Bahamas they get OWGR points. The bias is real.

  11. LIV is an excellent example of greed. It is not to grow the game of golf or spend more time with my family. I understand them taking the money, but please stop the whining.

  12. What makes the PGA think they own the game of golf !
World golf rankings should be just that ffs
A ranking of all golfers, irrespective of tour you play on
    Independently run

  13. So how are points supposed to be allocated for 54 hole team golf with no cut? Maybe they can issue negative points. They all knew thi$ going in, but $ome made deci$ion$ they now regret.
