Two-time major champion sits down with GOLF’s Dylan Dethier on this episode of Breakthrough.
It was just a couple years ago where you were saying a $400 million contract your life wouldn’t really materially change how did we get to this point for me to want to change there had to be reasons beyond the money right um so when I said
That I fully meant it is true now when they slap you with a large amount of money in your face your feelings do change yeah and uh I try not to be a materialistic person but I do owe it to my family as well to
Set them up for success as best I can right and having kids I think changed that quite a bit so yeah the the money is a part of it I mean I’m not going to lie and say no it is yes so there’s a different emotion when it’s okay this is
Actually there is a reality here you could get this massive amount of money yes

atleast he's honest
If it weren’t for the money then why not go to Liv for free? Case closed
lmfao
You’re getting paid a substantial amount more money to play less golf which is less stressful on your body and mind and it’s in a more relaxed environment and that means you get to spend more time at home snd now your great grand kids are set for life it’s a no brainer and you get to play in shorts? …….Also a bonus 😂
I respect the honesty. And honestly how can you disagree? Way more money and way less work.
I’ll just say this, the PGA messed up very bad by not treating the players well when they had the chance financially.
Cant blame the players. The whole thing is disgusting though. It wouldn’t be so bad if liv golf wasn’t such a terrible product to consume. Absolutely unwatchable for more than 5 minutes. It’s a good thing the league doesn’t need fans/viewership like every other sport or we wouldn’t even be having this conversation.
So basically he admitted he sold out. Love a good hypocrite 😂
Until the PGA Tour accepts the blood money themselves, I hold the moral high ground and will continue to unashamedly bash Rahm for taking the money. Would I have taken the money myself? Absolutely. But I wasn't in that situation, and wasn't offered money, so it's not hypocritical to bash him today. F Rahm, F the LIV Tour, the dude licking the boots of despicable people, and he's every bit as terrible as those disgusting human beings running that country.
He spent last year dissing LIV's format so he could bide his time racking up more wins on the pGA tour to increase his signing bonus with LIV. It sounds to me like he planned it all along. Go LIV! Deception rules.
Treat your played's like property 🤷🏽♂️
Of course, because he was so broke beforehand smh.
Just another Saudi bootlicker now. Well done Jon, PIF employee of the month.
Also.. LIV must spend as much on bos as they do on their players, as I have no doubt i'm the only actual human being commenting on this thread lol.
NFL and NBA get big money to,no one criticising them fir some reason
Well, I don't like that he left – but at least he’s being honest. It's a solid move.
Translation: “Blah, blah, blah, I’m a bag of shit”
Grab the money quietly from his buddies and played the victim card now ? Hah. The chap and the others were so proud of him. Come on, just straight forward, who doesn't want that $$$$. Rather than just circling around. Money is just part of it ? Really ? It's everything to the decision. Thought he looks like a bloke with strong principles, but still the one with soft backbone.
So the other reason was the money understood.
“when they slap you with a large amount of money in your face, your feelings do change”. at least he was honest
There had to to be reasons beyond the money and the reasons were ….. money
Sell out. Go play on your crappy tour Jon.
$400mil?
Where do i sign?
He’s a hypocrite and that’s all
