Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel! This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf equipment reviews, golf instruction & I play against some of the best golfers in the world!

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.

I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

All right then Sergio Garcia give me your top three tips to hting irons more consistent all right Rick uh so what uh what I try to focus on uh when I’m hitting every kind of shot but obviously iron’s even more importantly I think one of the most important things is to be

Nice and balanced uh you don’t want to be you know moving too much when you swing in so I like to stay like on on top of the ball and just kind of turn and turn so that would be probably my top one then the next one will be to make sure

That that I stay nice and Tall through the through impact so when I’m here make sure I don’t dip give myself room to swing so stay nice and tall and just let the arms and the club do the work so you don’t want your head to be going

Up and down too much because then it’s going to be difficult for you to be consistent with your strike and then the third one for me personally to make sure that I get through my left side and finish nice and strong onto my left leg you know sometimes I tend to kind of

Hang back a little bit and get a little stuck here so I want to make sure that when I hit I’m finishing nice and strong like 80 990 90% of the weight is going to be on my left leg the right leg is just going to be kind of like hanging there I

Love that so I think the main pickups there is is is almost centeredness and do you have like a reference point do you ever feel like you’re trying to get your chest over the ball set up and in the back swing do you have a reference

Point of almost trying to keep the peak of your hat over the ball yes I mean to me to me more than anything it’s it’s more feeling like like I don’t get get too much weight into my right right foot right leg on the way back so your right

Foot is almost not rolling it’s not rolling onto the outside of the foot correct I’m trying to keep it as steady here as possible so I’m trying to keep it here obviously there’s going to be a little bit a little bit of mov you can’t

Just be over here but but make sure that you don’t you’re not going to much this way so the the right knee is going to stay quite steady yeah it’s not really going to stretch it stretch too much so it’s going to get stti quite steady here keep

It nice and strong with your quads in here and then from there you can throw at it and get through the ball what I like about the top of your back swing there and you’ll see it from this camera is this idea that once you get to top of

Your swing you’re almost still in that cylinder like there’s hardly much sway to the right or to the left and then from that point then we’re focusing on more of a rotation as opposed to a dip correct and then trying to get 80% of weight on to your left foot yes I love

That let’s let’s let’s see that in action I love those top three tips really important for striking irons and there’s no better person in the world for iron striking this guy is ridiculous at striking irons so show us that Sergio so here we are so there’s the

Setup and now I’m going to stay Center keep my head up and finishing to my left ah and this there’s a couple of real standout features there first off the sound there’s compression there’s that striking into the back of the golf ball and then as you’ll see if you come a little bit

Closer pretty much and the golf ball was exactly at that point Sergio would you say yeah and the divver takes place straight after the golf ball so it’s ball first if you start leaning back too far that’s where these strikes start to come into play I think a key word that

You said there is compression like you feel like if you stay right on top of the ball here you feel like you can compress the ball there you’re on top of it you’re compressing instead of falling back you kind of scooping if you’re too

Much ahead you kind of get on top of it then you you can’t you don’t hit it well I love that give me one more Sergio I love that guys if you’ve enjoyed that video be sure to like And subscribe follow Sergio gassy on all the social

Media and this right here is how you become more consistent with your irons look at that balance absolutely perfect thanks for watching we’ll see you soon thanks Sergio that was perfect perfect

  1. the tour pro/coach coaching videos are the easiest watches! something almost therapeutic about watching them!

  2. I've always struggled staying balanced so I will try this. I find I try and kill the ball a lot and fall forward.
