Wowowow [Applause] [Applause] y [Applause] A Oh [Applause] W I Yeah [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Welcome into the obr streaming Network this is all I on Cleveland it is the 22nd of February uh my name is Brad Ward I am your host the man next to me is the one and only casy Ken man you can read him at dog pound daily he co-hosts barking
Browns podcast and the off the leash podcast uh barking Browns at Network 216 and off the leash at the psf app I have it on my phone you should do the same what’s up case dog not much man how you doing tonight Mr Ward uh you know
Well my son’s FaceTiming me right now good choice that’s how that’s how it goes that’s how it works uh yeah so um I’m doing well uh you know hanging in there what’s up what’s up chat gra chat and all the land smart football people filling the chat as usual listen this is
A is slow season right this slow time of year uh there’s not a lot going on as we prepare for the combine uh next week which uh by the way in case you wanted to know uh Andrew Barry will speak on Tuesday at 12:30 and Kevin stfy will speak Wednesday at
115 next week right next week yes sir yep when uh when are they getting their extensions case yeah it’s kind of weird because we haven’t dealt with this I can tell you when they resign players when they extend players you kind of see a pattern but we’re in Uncharted Territory when do
They extend the coach and GM I would assume you’re going to get something between the draft and their uh between the end of the first Min camp and then the actual manyi you know the actual camp that ensues in July I can dig that
You know as long as they get him I you know if they send stfy into this season without an extension I’m going to be pissed yeah I don’t think there’s a chance in that man like I not the way the season unfolded no not I mean I think you have
To you look around the league man you got to hold on to stefansky you’re seeing all this instability records amount of coaches getting fired in each and every year when you can you can hold on to a guy and keep that continuity you got to do it Manimal we successfully landed on the
Moon it’s good we did if you believe that thing that sort of thing let’s let me make sure there’s not an emergency going on here uh with my son since uh that’s a rarity you are okay I don’t I think he’s okay all right let’s see all right uh
Let’s uh proceed here so there was all the chub rumors right uh that we talked about last week and then uh Mary K cabitt today uh you know he will be back under a restructured contract in a perfect world he plays in week one I
Think that might be a little bit of a stretch but in a perfect world and he is Nick chub superhuman right um they will speak with his agents at the combine m in regards to a restructure so you know good news we knew this to be true we
Said it last week I wrote about it it was all nonsense uh you know Dan Graziano talks out of both sides of his mouth and people run with it so and that so but this is reality it’s uh you know he he’s gonna be a brown he’s gonna be a brown
This year yeah they had to quell a rumor that did not exist correct you know is like you said slow season people drumming stuff up but then it bled over it just wasn’t even the Nick chub stuff then all of a sudden it was David and
Joku being a cut candidate and Cooper to the Giants and it’s like I I have a hard time grasping what the national perception of this team is because we’re in the weeds man we we we know what to expect and how the front office rolls but it’s like other people can’t grasp
The Browns being like solid and they start like concocting these things like well they need to get rid of this guy and they just I don’t know man it’s there’s a gross thing where it happens where these guys try to cover all 32 teams yes they don’t have an
Understanding of how each individual franchise operates so they just see this cap number and they’re like well they gotta cut people to get underneath that that’s not how the Browns operate that’s not how AB rolls we’re not cutting our best players like I don’t know I don’t
Know man it’s it’s baffling to me they have no grasp and I mean it’d be different if this was the first year of the regime and you’re like oh okay this is how they’re going to have to maneuver but right have they have a large body of
Evidence that would Point them to well they’re just going to restructure guys that’s what they’re going to do that’s how they’re going to handle this yeah and the most absurd thing about the en joku thing is it was PFF and it was Steve palazolo pal is that how you say
The name palulu palazolo whatever it doesn’t matter PFF they know better what is he talking about you would think they would know better well Spielberger would there’s guys over at PFF that 100% would know better because they understand the nuances and how how these guys operate
But um yeah I don’t know and they’re just drumming up to talking points and they’re trying to cover all 32 teams and that you know yeah they’re like uh you know he said uh yeah he had a great year but you know what are you talk they’re
Not cutting in joku and we to you know we addressed the the trade nonsense with Daniel Jones the other night on the react we actually watch the clip from get up uh I I suggest you should go watch the episode it’s very funny we actually watched a very funny clip from
Pat McAfee with with uh did you see it with JJ Watt uh where he was talking about TJ Watt and he basically drops the ball on the whole NFL honors thing like you’ve got millions of people betting on these Awards and and he basically reveals that they know like a day ahead
Of time who it is and they’re like yeah yeah they’re like what are we doing here like mcafe is sitting there like you know he’s got FanDuel you know uh funny in Deepu it was uh it was pretty funny because they’re like what are you talking about you know and you
Could tell he knew he screwed up but anyways so the proposed trade by anyways that we were that they’re talking about in the chat right now was Watson for uh Watson and a second so we’re giving a second uh to get Daniel Jones and I think that what people in the National
Media just don’t realize is um they’re not trying to get they’re not looking for an Exit Plan there is no exit strategy for Watson the only way is through at this point yeah yes yeah and that’s just it too like this winning window didn’t just happen you didn’t
Just land on this is cultivated this is all planned this is all you know like of course you need Watson to play better and the plan was when you traded for him was to get an elite quarterback yeah but that’s the plan like this is the plan
They made their bed they realized that they’re not like well we gotta hit he pull the rip cord we gotta get out of this somehow let’s get Daniel Jones and give up a second and Watson to do it like that’s that’s crazy to me man they’re like how can the how can the
Giants compete in the NFC East with Daniel Jones I’m thinking how in the hell can the Browns compete in the AFC North with Daniel Jones what are you what are we talking about here funny thing is I bet stefansky would get him the nine wins with Daniel Jones he
Probably would he probably would yeah five in one Daniel Jones got outplayed by Tommy DeVito for Christ’s sake y like what what are we talking about man yep Jim uh Tommy uh Tommy cutlets Tommy cutlets yeah uh so yeah so uh what a year for the Giants uh so
Later in the show just so you know uh so you can plan accordingly at 7:45 we will have another guest tonight uh so if you have uh your talking points ready in the chat on the new stadium stuff because we have Nick Castell uh from signal Cleveland uh he
Does a great job for them he is on top of the stadium stuff so he’s going to join us at 7:45 so we can get the latest on all the stadium uh stuff he seems uh yeah he seems plugged into that pretty well um some other news as I do had to
Dive deep for this episode Casey uh but it sounds like to the bronze benefit that the salary cap is going to come in around 2 50 million where it was initially projected uh at 243 so s extra million dollars uh which is nice right uh and that’s good stuff
For the Browns there uh as they can use every dollar of it right projected 243 Larry uh it’s news sounds like it’s going to be coming in around 250 yeah yeah and that’s vital for the this credit card scheme that the Browns front office is running where they’re
You know charging a year ahead and they’re doing that based off projections like we can free up this much because the cap should increase by this when it leaps up like seven eight million dollar all of a sudden that changes the Outlook of what you have to restructure you know
The year you might be able to push one thing till next year now you know just giving yourself that much more leeway and that much more wiggle room so yeah that can only be a good thing for all NFL franchises for the players every body involved and it’s just goes to show
What a monster the NFL is yes you know they’re just printing money they really are um so I am writing an article on the tackle situation right now like I was doing it before the show and so in in uh you know getting with our resident capologist at
The obr Jack Duffin I said Jack I need I need to go over these Conlin numbers with you right like I need to know what’s real what’s not here he said don’t pay attention to the dead money pay attention to the cash he said if they were going to move him they
Probably have to eat like half of his money this year maybe more and trade like he said 5.5 million of it away so if you were to get a good pick in compensation trade 5.5 of his 13 whatever million that he’s owed in cash this year uh you could get off of conin
Potentially uh I’m with you on the not keen on moving Jones to the left side uh which I you know I talk about I don’t think it’s impossible I think like before you go into the season with all three tackles and the absurd amount of money you’re already paying the interior
Line uh of your of your offensive line that you have to make a move somehow uh so you know yeah there’s yeah Matt Wilson said trade Jed uh the pro that’s so that’s kind of what we’re talking about Drew is if you do that that’s fine but now you have to
Move Jones to the left side and and I just don’t know uh if that’s the best move I I well it’s just it man I know he’s athletic enough to do it he has he has the gifts but like the biomechanics and muscle memory that it takes is you only acrew
That over reps tons of reps like he if that was the plan they needed to be on that two months ago he should second the season ended I stole that from you it’s in my article so when you see that you know I got that from you they should
Have been on that from day one right like uh that’s the plan repping that if that is the plan right or if it’s even in the range of outcomes somebody should be working with him on both he can’t he has to be on the field right I so you were talking about
The redrafts ninth 11th I mean people got him in the top 10 uh as a redraft he was a fourth round draft pick you by by sitting him down you are wasting so much value gained right uh and even by sitting him down and letting a $14 million player play Swing tackle or
Whatever how much value are you wasting where it could be applied someplace else on the roster I guess that’s absolutely and how much time time on the job man that’s that’s what it comes down to like if he’s going to realize his full potential it’s going to happen through
Reps and being on the field he has to be on the field man in my opinion you have a potential All Pro and he’s on a rookie contract fourth round rookie contract like it just behooves you and if they have to to trade Conlin if they have to
Eat half that money that’s the price for doing a bad deal yeah I can’t feel bad cont We’re not gonna win all of them so you know if you want to try to hold Barry’s feet to the fire okay it’s one bad move man okay sometimes you have to
Move on we’ve seen him do this in the past two years cutting shorts walking away from York you know what I mean those are that hurts those were you know third fourth round picks that you just had to move on from because it wasn’t working in Conlin situation it’s like by
Keeping him you are lessening what you can be by keeping Jones on the sideline can’t have it I I see a lot of the trade Wills in here and I get it guys it makes the most sense he’s easier to trade uh for sure and uh you’re right
Philly he’s the most tradable contract 100% he’s much easier to trade I just listen I don’t trust Conlin’s Health a can’t and I don’t want to have to move Dean Jones to the left side it’s to it’s just you’re doing too much in a season that you’re already changing a ton as is
Right so um it is a good problem to have to Philly’s point I do think it is a waste of resources to have all three on the roster come week one yeah and like you said you’re already paying your interior so much if you can get cheaper on the outside you
Know it only benefits you and to OG’s Point man I love this offensive tackle class yeah it is loaded there’s going to be a couple offensive tackles that go at the top of the second round that are first round talents that’s just when you’re looking at this this year’s class
Man there could be anywhere from six to eight offensive tackles drafted in the first like it it’s there it’s thick with Talent it is um and and you know Drew brings up a good point the new offensive line coaches could throw a wrench in all of this because
Like they may have a totally different uh you know look at this thing than we’re used to right so uh for example uh Pete wrote today about how the Browns run game needs to improve and they need to get be more of a power run uh game
And that that involves some maybe Chang personnel and and they may feel that way like we don’t know what puffy head is going to say when he gets in town right what no we we don’t puff I not puffy head Alex Dickerson I apologize uh that just came out wrong uh not puffy
Head Alex Dickerson gets into town and he what he wants to do uh all this stuff uh you you know OG Philly says uh tackle running back wide receiver are all deep is that for the draft class he yeah he’s talking about the draft I agree with offensive
Tackle and wide receiver last year was the year take a running back late yeah there were dudes all through that like um Israel abanda that went to the Jets in like the fifth or sixth like I think that dude’s gonna be a starter you know
You saw Mitchell go on drafted go to the Ravens last year was a a very deep draft um but yeah it is Andy Alex is better than puffy head you know it’s better than puffy head so yes you’re right I’m calling him Bob Ross Jr until further notice yeah but that’s
That’s a valid point though his teaching style May lend itself to Wills I also can act like this man Wills started off last year horrible but the last three games before he was injured he was good he wasn’t just okay he was good and it was his ability to get to the second
Level and his internal clock shut off because he always plays to his own whistle in his head yeah you know and you started to see that go away you know Roberto Shenanigans wasn’t posting anything for a couple weeks you know like he was actually getting the job
Done out there obviously then he gets hurt similar to Watson you know the light comes on you’re injured so we’re gonna forget about the good that we started to see because the larger body of work would lead you to believe that he can’t do it but I I did see him start
To turn it around um but maybe the difference in teaching style will be the difference for Wills maybe he views maybe Dickerson views this room differently maybe Dickerson views dwan as a left tackle and has a plan in place you know that’s the unknown things when you switch you know the entire coaching
Staff over on the offensive side of the ball um yeah we just don’t know all this stuff and uh it’s to be determined right so whatever they decide to do it’s fine it’s just an interesting aspect it’s just I would hate like last year I felt like they’re spending way too much on
This offensive line like get off of somebody get out of one of these deals I me I kind of wish they would have because they’d be in a better position now maybe but um you know either way they just have way too much money sunk
In this o line in my opinion yeah yeah and that that’s the other thing though if they go out there and they Dominate and they’re they are the clearly the best offensive line of football I don’t think we feel the same but when they’re like Fringe top 10 and you’re top two in
Money you know top one in money like it’s it’s hard to stomach you know you got to be getting that production I was very uh obviously the Conklin extension didn’t make any sense to me and I was super surprised I brought poid back thinking yeah yeah the money you know
Not that he signed some Landmark deal but you already have so much sunk into that room it’s like and we’re gonna pay another guy and Nick Harris you know CH came back from his injury pretty well you know I was worried about his hop you
Know uh the way that he handles uh you know re-anchoring with his little hop but he seems to have gotten that under control and he’s he’s athletic guy as we saw last year playing fullback and whatnot right so he’s an excellent man in space too like if he is when he’s
Playing Center he can run the point and get out second level you know sweeps and stuff um definitely a lot a lot to work with there and it’s going to be interesting to see what Dickerson cets yeah it will be that’s something to pay close attention to I’ve got you’re
Watching all eyes on Cleveland with Brad Ward and Casey kenman here on the obr streaming Network make sure you hit like And subscribe as you’re entering or leaving the show we appreciate you tuning in uh tonight to uh talk some Browns and a slow it’s like the last
Slow week of the Season stuff is really going to pick up so I have a wide receiver that has come onto my radar who I’m Who I’m in you know not the obvious iuke is my dream okay let me just put that out there Ja Jack Jack went after
Me man he didn’t like that huh he didn’t like you said auk wellit not me in particular he said I’m he’s seen a lot of it online where we’re you know champing for auk and he kind of said well if you go like you have to move on
From Amari or you’re gonna lose chub and tell ER I think you could do one year with Amari and then move on and I think you’d be okay so yeah because we G restructure him anyway and then if you whatever you sign iuk to because if you get him
You’re signing a new deal it won’t take effect to the next year and even that first year of that deal won’t be a cap hit so you can conceivably have Amari for that year too before you have to move on he would be the he would be the
Long-term replacement of Amari in my opinion yeah absolutely and I that’s my whole point with getting him is you get a guy who’s a two a high in two right this second because of Amari and then he can just be your one and you don’t you don’t feel a significant drop off and
They attack all three levels of the field I I just see it as a beautiful thing I have a receiver in mind too I’m interested to hear who you have that’s off the radar all right you want to say the same time see if see if we’re best
Friends ready no no no you go first you go first who you yeah who’s your with wide receiver in mind doesn’t have to be you know my guy is a guy that is rumored to be on his way out all of a sudden came mine’s Mine mine’s going out mine’s
Mine’s DJ CH I just look at everyone clamoring for Gabe Dave and uh I think you can go get a guy with the same skill set that can do more as a route runner for literally less than half the price I’d be ecstatic if they if Ridley’s where they landed yeah I’d be
Fine with Ridley too um I’ll be interested to see what his Market is how his Market develops he wasn’t used properly oh yeah and he’s still got a thousand yards so we can’t act like he’s just some you know was a show of himself
But I look at it in tears and I think he’s going to be viewed as that next tier down second TI yeah so I think that you know you let those first guys those heavyweights kind of get out of the way and then all of a sudden you can slot
That guy in agreed agreed that DJ shark is interesting I don’t think he’s like a game breaker or anything do you think he’s a two yes yes you do okay I well I here’s what I I do I don’t think it fixes your room but but I but everyone wants to pay
Gave Davis and I don’t think it fixes your room it just gives you a piece who can do a thing I think CH can do more he can do the vertical stuff and he’s half the price so it doesn’t you if you need to add something else to the
Room you know what I mean as opposed to paying x amount to Davis you’re gonna pay four to five for shark and I think that that’s that’s reasonable for what he brings to you I hate this Gabe Davis the Gabe Davis link to us all the time
Because of dorsy I’m not a gabee Davis fan I just don’t want to see it happen uh like okay did you see his Instagram post no I did not okay seek it out on on Twitter I don’t think I have it at the ready maybe I do
Uh but anyways he he put this these stats up it was basically like a goodbye to Buffalo and then uh he he put all these stats up and it was like 2000 to 200 ree first in this first in that first in this and I’m like are these
Numbers real or is he just pulling this out of his ass cuz I don’t like what the hell like are you see because he doesn’t strike me as a first in anything I don’t know now maybe yards per catch for a year explosive plays let me see if I can
Find this here’s the thing man he’s a one-trick pony and he’s inconsistent yeah do without what you will he is very inconsistent and that’s what’s always bothered me like he he’ll have this monster game out of nowhere and then um he just disappears for a couple weeks at a time right and uh
So I I’m out on I’m out on everybody got drunk off his four touchdown game in the playoff and they were like oh he’s he’s that he’s the next guy and it never took off and you’re talking about a very explosive offense you know and if it
Doesn’t work in that scenario I don’t think that you just copy and paste and expect you know that that to be the Saving Grace of that room I’m watching this this uh so this basically this is a basically this is like a recap of his time in Buffalo this is not what I
Wanted this is not what I wanted all right so do you want to hear my guy yeah H yeah do okay I want to get excited Terry Scary Terry McClaren mcen there we go uh R today likely out in Washington with the rebuild now they just signed him though
Right like what what’s what’s he carrying contract wise and if it’s an outright cut I’d be interested let me get his contract up we talking about a guy who who contribute who who puts up produces with like no quarterbacks yes to me that’s impressive yeah exact exactly uh so he is
Um how does this break down McLaren signed a three-year deal uh worth 68 million including a $28 million signing bonus 53 of the 68 guaranteed on an average annual salary of 22 which isn’t that bad in the market no I think he’s a one I think he’s a low-end one but he’s
A one I do too uh in 2024 McLaren will earn a base salary of 15 a roster bonus of 2 million a workout workout bonus of 500,000 and carry a cap hit of 241 uh his dead 17 241 they’ll have to eat seven yeah and his dead well his dead cap value is
29.3 so okay uh but they’re going to have to eat that regardless that doesn’t matter so basically if he gets out I’m interested I would pay him 22 a year yeah no you’re not going coer 20 yeah and that’s winding down and and that’s an upgrade in my
Opinion maybe maybe not I don’t know do you think McLaren’s better than Cooper it’s hard to judge a guy who’s never had a quarterback he will be in the next three years I think yes yes I I can I can get down with that I don’t know man Cooper is so
Underappreciated he’s such a technician you know and people every year every offseason it goes down as he just becomes more underappreciated and then during the season it’s like oh yeah I forgot Amari Cooper’s excellent at football and then every off because he’s not a sexy guy he’s not vocal he’s not
Out in the media so he’s like out of side out of mind then every year he’s like as solid as anyone man he’s you know do I think mclen could be a perennial top 10 receiver in the league I do so the chat is talking about Calvin Ridley’s potential uh cost
Right uh I wanted to see if they yeah okay so here is spot track’s market value for him they have him at 17 million and I don’t think he’s getting it a he’s 20 he’s almost 30 29 yeah yeah see I think that that’s it I think in
Everyone’s mind he’s 25 you know what I mean just because he was the game for a little bit yeah and the guys they have him comped to here that their little algorithm right that works this up is Terry McLaren Mike Williams Chris Godwin and Brandon Cooks are are 26 27 26
28 and all make close to $20 million a year so they have him at 17 maybe that’s where they get the but I don’t think he’s going to I think I think more like uh 12 to 14 yeah if you can get for 15 or or
Lower I think that’s a bargain I I agree I agree so I’m interested in Ridley I’m interested in in McClaren and I’m interested in DJ shark yeah uh what’s the draft Capital to get Terry it’s probably pretty pretty steep uh I mean but if you’re gonna like
I’m to the point where I think the wide receiver help comes via trade so that’s what Barry does right so if it’s auk who is my dream acquisition um or it’s Terry a second or a couple seconds maybe throw a Nome in there whatever you want
To do right however you want to make it happen can make it happen I mean they want out of his contract so I don’t think it’s about the player sure they want draft Capital but the the gain for Washington is to get out of the deal they just gave
Him correct yeah you got yeah and you got a new defensive minded head coach coming in if you have a defensive asset you can trade kind of you know Lube the deal I think you can make that happen yeah I was gonna tell him no for
Me so I’ll throw you in there too Drew okay there you go pass it along I will I will uh yeah another one I heard today uh actually I heard it on somebody wrote it but they brought it up on uh Cleveland Browns daily today courland
Sutton yeah yeah yeah keep his name has been bandied about for two or three seasons now he is a two he is a true two to me he’s not a one I don’t think he’s a two there was a time I thought he was
A one that he had that potential to be a one but he’s kind of kind of leveled off but he gives you that differing skill set big body you know boundary guy nasty in the Red Zone like that’s definitely a skill set that they need to be interested in
Um Charlie makes a good point do you think they have so do you think they have a hard time can you are you willing to say at this point that Barry has a hard time drafting wide receivers here’s the thing we’re always going to be hung up on that Schwarz
Thing I think that’s always going to be be like oh man it was a top 100 pick complete bust the jury’s out on the last two I think Bell’s shown a pulse and we don’t know what toman’s GNA be so I can’t I can’t case close it I can’t case
Close it and be like no way you know like if anything they’ve gotten slightly better at drafting wide receivers from compared to where it started with Barry but they but here’s the thing is each of those drafts you can point to a receiver that was taken after their pick that was
An immediate success that sucks because we’re waiting you know what I mean but don’t get me wrong man if Bell goes out there and has you know 500 yards and four touchdowns this year and and Tillman all of a sudden becomes that deep threat and can haul down 40 passes
Starts to look a lot better you know but it’s there I there were there were better players to be had I think is safe to say last first round wide receiver I mean he was here but it wasn’t his pick right last first round receiver Cory Coleman
Yeah I mean he was is I think he was in the building but he wasn’t making the pick I thought Barry was only here in 2017 Am I Wrong 2017 through 2019 or 2018 left for a year with the Eagles and came back I thought
He I know he left for one year I thought he was with the Browns for I don’t know I mean he could be he could have been there in 16 when they drafted Coleman that was abysmal you know yeah there’s no way around that Bel is truly a boundary receiver that played mostly
In the slot so I don’t think we truly know what he’s all right so here’s what I what I have seen I’ll be perfectly honest about Belle I like Belle coming out in college because even though he didn’t test well he struck me as like a
Jarvis Landry type and and like a guy that was going to be good route Runner and um he had a lot of nuance to his game right like that you can’t teach like when he’s around the ball contested balls body positioning yeah yeah he has
A lot of new he’s a he was a nuanced receiver in college which is why he was so productive but what I’ve seen from him in the NFL he seems a little stiff yep not much twitch at all none none none not even Jarvis Landry twitch
Who was a 4640 guy at least he had some some burst right um so I’m underwhelmed at this point yeah no he’s not what I thought we were getting in he’s also a fourth round receiver lot of fourth round guys producing in the NFL case no there
It’s hard for me to call anybody taken on day three a bust I’m not calling him a bust I I’m just saying he’s I’m a little disappointed on draft on draft that draft weekend as it as it does frequently you almost feel like you got
A gym in the rough and and you you might have something here and it yeah it hasn’t but it he showed a pulse you know I I don’t expect a lot from him I know a lot of people out the gate were like man this guy’s going to catch 70 balls as a
Rookie and you know and obviously that fell flat on his face but I think if you got a he’s a possession guy he can move the chains he you know that that one anomaly touchdown on fourth down where he just turned around there was no one
There and he slowly sprinted to the end zone like that’s a one-time thing don’t expect that ever again um but he can fill a role in the team and if that’s the bottom of your receiver room cool but I also want the bottom of my receiver room to contribute on special
Teams because it helps with the numbers game and I don’t see him out there as a gunner no which is yeah so and and another great Point here from Philly uh he he’s limited athletically but made his bones with contested catches and Route running outside the hashes in
College the the thing that I was found incredibly he does have good hands uh and he played well late in the season you guys are all right making good points right now so I don’t you know I’m not I’m not giving up on him by any stretch of the imagination I just
Thought we I thought he we were getting more I guess athletically I think he’s less ath athletic than I even thought he was despite his testing I thought he had a little more twitch than what he has uh but he does have good hands he does run
Good routes and and you know the metric said after his rookie year that he got open a lot despite not getting the ball from six right so uh yeah you know I’m open to it listen I do think I will say this I do think Cedric Tilman can be something
Legitimate yeah I’m dude I’m still kind of baffled on why you shook up the entire offensive staff and Shadow Shay got a pass yeah I I don’t get the dpj trade either still could he used him could he used him you know those little premature Donovan peoples Jones is like the ideal
I’m I I guess I get it and to Serge’s point if you do believe in tman you had to make room for him to play or else he was never going to get any run and so they moved cool that as a rookie though
Dpj to get him some run he does block he blocks pretty well he’s a big guy I thought he flashed some real potential uh Tillman did at times he was definitely not consistent but I think he has the chance and he’s a bigger body and more athletic to be a real
Contributor for this team at some point so I’m not giving up on him no no that’s why it’s hard for me to say that they can’t Draft wide receiver I’m I’m still not there of what they have at wide receiver I’m way more there on defensive tackle if they have an issue drafting
Defensive tackles Jack makes a good point his Fall From Grace was such a mystery it was he was basically running wind Sprints once uh got here right like he was 300 600 800 like on the precipice of exploding onto the scene as a legitimate guy and then Watson arrives and now he
Can’t get a he can’t get a look no he can’t even get a look out there just running cardio yeah just cardio and blocking his ass off which he always did ass and you know what to his credit he never said boo about it no we didn’t
Hear word one out him being frustrated know he had to be you know because like you said he was at the precipice of like making a name for himself in the league and then to not be able to get it over the hump you know and yeah it’s baffling
Too because when we’re watching all the stuff in Camp like he was killing it it’s like oh they got a little connection here you know and then ghost he’s a camp darling every year he’s a camp he was a camp darling every year he was lighting up camp every year coming
In bigger he’s hearing Josh Gordon comparisons yeah I remember yeah uh golf didn’t look at him either Serge said uh he didn’t play much Detroit either he did not see the field much at all they got a lot of guys in Detroit yeah yeah he felt good to him
For him too getting traded back to his hometown like that felt good like if he’s GNA go back you know go to a place where you might be able to compete for a title in your hometown you know you f that’s this front office does does right
By their guys when they do do stuff like that they’re G to let what’s his name walk Reynolds I think Josh Reynolds yeah and and he may fill that role for them yeah but D dpj is a free agent as well so they got to figure that out

Nick is it is it Castell yep and you got it right it’s Castell I nailed it how about that Casey uh never doubted it for a second Brad Nick Castell he uh writes for Signal Cleveland has been uh doing a great job uh covering all the Cleveland
Government stuff but uh uh we have himont to talk about the stadium uh because you wrote an article on that and I’ve seen you Tweeting stuff about it so we have some questions for you the chat may have some too what is the latest Nick first of all welcome to alliz on
Cleveland I’m Brad pleasure to meet you that’s Casey uh and we’ve got a chat full of H Browns fans here so uh What uh what is the latest uh news on the stadium uh stuff so the latest news that we reported last week and it’s it’s actually a little older news that we
Just learned about and and frankly were the first to report is that back in October the Haslam Sports Group met with members of Cleveland City Council took them to Brown’s headquarters in Berea and laid out essentially their pitch for the major renovation that they are envisioning for the lakefront Stadium
What two council members who were at those meetings told us was that the Browns are pitching a 1 billion to $1.2 billion renovation and they are proposing a 5050 split so in this in this pitch here the Haslam uh Sports Group takes uh 50% of that cost and then
The public uh will eat 500 million to 600 million of of this renovation now that might not all come from the city of Cleveland if they even take this deal you’re looking at kyoga County the state of Ohio other sources if you can find it
To try to uh you know to meet that cost because that is a pretty steep number for a local government to handle yeah so here’s my question so I think you said this but I want to confirm it that was the Browns pitch to The haslams yeah that was that was the
Haslam Sports Group pitch to uh Cleveland City Council so this is the city to the city so this is not necessarily a deal that the city has agreed to I mean my understanding is that they are still negotiating you know they’ve still gone back and forth and and there’s nothing uh you know
Officially ready to announce as far as I know but this is the pitch that you know Brown’s ownership was making to city council members of of what they Envision for the lakefront Stadium what um when they bought the land in Brook Brookfield park Brook Park uh Brook Park yeah there’s you know there
Has been some reporting now that uh they’re at least looking at land in Brook Park I I you know I just checked the property records I mean no no title has been transferred yet but I mean uh you know the Ken Prendergast who is a a
Real estate blogger who gets a lot of you know inside information about you know buildings and and real estate deals in town he was the first to report this this news that the the Brown’s ownership was looking at Brook Park we had also heard this uh too and we were trying to
Chase that down as well but he beat us to it but it does appear that the team was was eyeing this property for what it’s not entirely clear you know the team has now put out as a general statement just acknowledging that they are looking at other sites in Northeast
Ohio as possible Stadium locations as part of their diligence what does that mean I’m not entirely sure you know is that a plan B are they doing two tracks at once here trying to see which one comes through we’re still trying to figure out exactly how that fits into
The picture feels like a uh maybe maybe a leverage move Casey doesn’t it feel like uh if you have that hypothetically you know Nick Casey if you have that land in play you have at least another a pivot right like if you don’t get what
You want from the city or or whatever CU hypothetically if they did that they would have to develop all that themselves correct yeah I mean if they if they were going to build on that site you’re looking at building a new stadium I don’t know this for a fact but my
Guess would be if you’re building brand new you probably want to Dome and that means you’re looking at $2 billion to build so way more money but it might be you know it might be that sort of Crown Jewel stadium that they really really really potentially could really want um
But again I mean that’s kind of speculation at this point because all we know for certain is that this uh this Lakefront deal was pitched and uh it appears that they are eyeing some other Alternatives you know as they’re as they’re doing their diligence on this
Deal do you know how much a retract actable roof cost I have no idea but I mean I just looking at you know other other new stadiums that buil have been built or at least pitched in the past couple years I mean2 billion dollar seems to be the going
Price I have a question so the uh the the pitch the pitch that they gave the city council did that include the land bridge that got brought up in the press release or is that a separate deal all together because I think the accessibility is an issue and before
They remodel they would want to like remedy that yeah as as I understand it I I think the landbridge is a separate conversation but that’s a whole other cost that someone’s got to figure out how to foot and and you’re right I mean that goes to that question of can you
Get to you know can fans get to the stadium easily you know right now you’re either walking down East 9th you know and I know how you know that gets blocked off that’s a real traffic snarl on game day uh or you’re going down what
Is it West Third or West 6 the other way and so yeah I mean if they’re looking for sort of a more pleasant way to get to the stadium that landbridge I think is got it’s got to be a part of the conversation and I believe it is um but
I don’t think that that is included in that uh sticker price uh that we’re looking at of a billion dollars for a renovation have you heard anything about a temporary relocation because if they do decide to renovate on the lake they have to figure out you know two to three
Years or whatever it takes to renovate where they’re going to play was there any talk of that not to my knowledge but it’s a good question yeah it is uh I was you stole my question actually casy um no the uh no good job uh the um do you
Have any feel for like does this what kind of feels like the renovation has been maybe the plan all along despite fans talk of Domes and and wishing is that the feel you get that the renovation is just kind of the way the haslams have wanted to go from day
One that’s I mean at least going on their public statements uh I mean that’s that’s kind of what we’ve been referring to I think it was D Haslam who said maybe it was a year ago now or at least close to it you know they’re looking at a substantial renovation of the
Lakefront Stadium now I know more recently you’re hearing the team say things like we’re exploring other sites in Northeast Ohio that kind of says well maybe are they having other thoughts about building new but you know some of the first uh public statements we we heard on this were saying we’re looking
At a renovation and that certainly is the conversation around the lakefront site uh Chris in our chat asking just being Devil’s Advocate uh who would get the revenue uh would any of it go towards say the bill I think I think TBD I mean you could structure the deal in
Different ways you know you could for instance if you look at uh Cavaliers arena you know rocket mortgage Fieldhouse as part of the renovations they are directing some revenues that are raised at the stadium back into the deals I mean you can do things that way
Where you say well let’s look at a share of our admission tax that we charge or let’s look at sales tax on what we sell inside the stadium can you use that as part of like the capital stack for a deal that’s at least that’s a possible
Source I think when you’re looking at a price tag as big as $500 million you’re going to have a lot of different sources because no one thing is going to get you half a billion dollars yeah um you’re watching all and Cleveland special gu Nick Cassell of signal Cleveland he does
A fantastic job you can follow him on Twitter at Nick cell right that’s right and got the uh got the first one the first Nick Castell got the first one on Twitter so tough to do get that got in early in 2010 so yeah good
Job uh well done uh so the uh other thing I was gonna say Chris to Chris’s point about the revenue it feels like okay so if you develop the L the the land bridge and the lakefront and you get the city to pay what whatever tax or
Whatever agreement they come to right to flip half the bill to renovate the stadium uh Revenue naturally comes to the the city right just from natural game day whatever concerts whatever you do there right but an emission tax yeah yeah okay and but hypothetically Brook Park you
Know not that it’s a real thing but just in a hypothetical situation it feels like maybe the haslams would be asked to take on more of that because they would reap all the rewards of of building it up themselves I yeah I think that’s a question because if if they were to
Build in a different city I got to think the city of Cleveland would say well you don’t want you’re not going to get our money then if you’re leaving town and so where where is that other money going to come from does that mean the hams have
To pay more does that mean they look they lean on the county more uh for more money I you know it’s kind of speculation at this point but I mean that that is a good question which is what does the team potentially Give Up by moving out of the municipality of
Cleveland even if it’s to the suburbs you know what what kind of Revenue are you leaving on the table because there’s City money that is that would follow you at the lakefront yeah listen nick uh we appreciate you making time for us uh it’s interesting stuff uh you know don’t
Know which way it’s going to go case you got anything else for Nick uh no I mean when I think of it and I’m Gonna Catch heat for this playing on the lake we’re used to it it’s where the Stadium’s always been even back when it
Was the mun you know what I mean so we’re we’re that’s what we’re used to very disadvantageous weather very unpredictable having a stadium on a lake without a dome it seems if you’re going to put that money into it I I think you have to try to put a roof on that thing
Man it’s just I can’t see any way around it so you see these people Nick and Casey that are like Cleveland got to be outside gotta be no Dome can’t do it that’s Cleveland it’s what it is and I want to say don’t you think Vikings fans
Maybe said that like back before and look at that beautiful facility I don’t think anybody’s complaining now on game day when they’re sitting in their 70° weather and watching the game in perfect conditions are they they have fake snow inside that building that’s what you
Need to when they want to fill they put fake snow in there well you know the teams are always trying to sell The Fan Experience you know it’s not just about watching the game you know you want to be able to be comfortable there get a
Beer you know you want to have different kinds of spaces to congregate so all of that says hey there is something to be said for a dome at least improving the selling point of The Fan Experience but that is going to be a lot more money um Jack
Saying has Lum tried to put some kind of a roof it when he first bought the stadium I don’t think it’s feasible yeah I don’t think that you could I don’t the way they build it my understanding and I heard somebody on the radio say this but
The way they build it I don’t think they can renovate a roof onto this ex you’d have to build a new stadium to get a dome right that’s that’s what I’ve always heard too I you know I don’t know the engineering behind it but yeah that’s what I’ve always heard and they I
Heard somebody say the renovation would have something to do with digging out underneath the stadium something like to did you hear this like to create the sweets or whatnot that people are looking for um I don’t know or they that’s that’s news to me but oh what
Like like almost below Le like level kind of Suites like you might have behind Home Plate at a baseball game I guess I didn’t really understand it when I heard them saying dig underneath but like maybe lower the field itself yeah they they made it seem like I heard I
Think it was Ken Carman saying it or somebody saying that like when they initially built the field they had to hurry to get it done and they should have dug it out then and they’re like saying hypothetically there’s there’s no space underne I guess like a concourse or whatever that a lot
Of stadiums have below level that that doesn’t exist in the Brown Stadium like you’re you’re missing a lot of room that uh under most Fields is all sweets and and uh you know locker rooms and and and space and areas that you know help the facility I
Guess hey Nick thanks for making time for us tonight on all eyes on Cleveland you were great knowledgeable and I will continue to read your stuff everybody in the chat should as well thanks for making time for us we really appreciate it man sure thing thanks for having me
Of course we’ll have you back if you’re if you’re willing to do it of course all right Nick have a great evening thanks for your time yeah thank you you too take care all right Nick Castell of signal C got his finger on the pulse of everything with the stadium good to have
Him on case yeah oh absolutely man like to find out that they they already pitched it to the city council for the for the renovations I the more I wrap my head around it though man the more I think it sounds better to relocate and have like The Fan
Experience like here’s here’s my view of it from jump when Jimmy came to the Browns as the owner he kind of had that little he like a Jerry Jones type feel like he was going for that type of owner and then it didn’t work and he’s played the background but like AT&T Stadium
Down in Dallas sits on 140 Acres they bought 176 it’s hard for me to Envision that he doesn’t want that type of destination that you could I don’t know Jimmy World we’ll call it Jimmy World his his own little Jimmy world you know no no hypothetically like that that’s where my
Mind goes to that too is like he’s going to build something that’s just crazy and then the space around it though is like that’s my point is like he would benefit from it all he could put his he could have his hand in the hotels the restaurants everything that you develop
Around the stadium and just be printing money from a situation like that you host a Super Bowl a final four having a physical Browns Hall of Fame yeah AB on site you know what I mean like like you said that would just print money and I
Don’t know man to me I see at this point it’s 2024 man like to renovate that stadium and not because if it’s gonna cost 1.2 billion what’s the point man pay pay the two and knock it down and build the Dome there then that’s what I’m saying I
I I just keep getting this feeling when I read stuff and and hearing like what Nick said tonight that the renovation is the way they’re going to go because that’s the only way they’re going to get half the bill flipped by the city he could raise that private private
Investment groups man that sucks sponsors private investment groups Jimmy I mean right now it’s I don’t know man 2024 man build a dome but build a dome build a dome Minnesota is my example of like a perfect structure for a a Midwestern City like ours um
I’m nobody wants to sit in zero degree weather and and all that and it’s just uh I don’t know anyways uh did you see that the Bengals got new field Turf I did they got that metti field Turf God I don’t I don’t want Nick chub to step
Foot on that field next year I don’t want to go play there anymore they’re going I mean they that’s their own that’s their own fa they already got an ACL issue in Cincinnati you’re G to throw field Turf down great move great move great organization right there uh
Stupidity it if I was an NFL player and if I or if I was in charge of the NFL PA I would demand all that that it is all grass uh just like so who who was the soccer player that came over uh famous soccer player somebody
You know in the chat I I don’t follow uh that communist sport say you’re you’re outside of my wheelhouse my man but a soccer player came I don’t got nothing for yeah my dad’s a longtime uh football coach and he used to like soccer would be on like
Why are you watching that communist sport I’m scouting kickers yeah looking at kickers dad um no uh he uh some one of the soccer players came over and he got the he got every soccer field in the league turned to Grass um just uh so that he could come play
There well that’s it man like you said it’s unsafe work conditions like they should file something with OSHA for Christ’s sake like that’s not what are we doing man we’re talking about State we’re talking about the Apex of athletic competition the best athletes on the planet biggest fastest strongest guys
And you’re going to put them unsafe conditions to play like their ligaments won’t stand for this is it is it Beckham I don’t know is Beckham I don’t know I know that’s a soccer player yeah me too you can Bend It Like Beckham man yeah I don’t know
Anybody’s anyways some guy came over and he got the whole league to change it to to Grass he wouldn’t because he didn’t want to play one guy so just so he would come play in America and the NFL can’t go ass so what do we we need Mahomes to
Threaten to leave the league if they don’t do it I don’t know you get the other Beckham Odell I think he’s dating a Kardashian now did I see that oh God that that flew under my radar yeah that’s what I heard Kim Dayton Kim it’s crazy Pete Davidson shouldn’t stand for such
Things what are you a big Pete Davidson fan no no but also my my knowledge of the Kardashians is limited so that that’s what I know that you know Pete Davidson she went from Kanye to Pete and think that’s my basis of knowledge I’ve not spent one second watching any Kardashian
Show in my life so yeah me neither I so when I do these shows I tell my wife get your bull crap shows out of the way now while I’m doing my show right so my wife is a big in like PBS Classic Time pieces and I’m not allowed in the room
When she watches stuff cuz I’ll just on it and make fun of it by accident just by me watching it so she won’t even watch it around me Chris says the NFL won’t even get rid of the Chain Gang yeah that’s archaic right something they can have lasers
Like on the field they don’t need that the technology they have you’re kidding me right that we’re we’re uh we’re carrying a chain around and pull dragging it out on the field we also have all this technology yet we don’t have an eye in the sky we don’t have
Like ultimate judge these other leagues you’re seeing figure it out there’s all kinds of backwards things it’s just because the way they’ve been done they just continue to do them even though they’re proven better ways to do said things like I don’t know like we we said it on
Here man things don’t innovate at the NFL level they they innovate other places and creep into the NFL oh so hopefully the UFL that starts in here in a few weeks hopefully they start implementing some things that catch on and then the NFL can adopt them I guess because there’s archaic practices like
The Chain Gang before we get out of here tonight on all eyes on Cleveland I appreciate you all sticking around you guys are great you guys had uh great participation tonight enjoyed it uh I saw a question in the chat do you think uh the Steelers trade for Justin
Fields I hope not and I was during the season I was saying the Falcons should get Justin fields to pair with Arthur Smith and then they fire Arthur Smith begins in Pittsburgh so I don’t want it to happen now I wanted it to happen then think he’s a perfect fit for what Arthur
Smith does um no I hope not hope to hell not but I mean I know I heard the uh they were saying they were trying to decide if it’s was gonna be picking or Rudolph and that was their dilemma I hope that stays their dilemma hope I
Hope that’s true I have a hard time believing that they are that dum they have they have tape like they have they’re watching the same we’re watching they those are the guys that there’s an internal dilemma between Mason Rudolph and Kenny picket I God I
Hope so I don’t know come on they’re not watching the rest of the league I I don’t get it either but look man we need them to be in quarterback Purgatory for as long as humanly possible we were maroon there for decades we need them to
At least get a taste of it right yeah um I was gonna and then my other question was going to be uh if you are the Bears what do you do are you trading fields and drafting now that’s what they’re going to do man and I don’t I see a
Comment Gon Do yeah I see a comment in the chat saying Phils isn’t very good I disagree I disagree he’s put in very very shitty position and uh I think he’s succeeded oh you son of a I should have known right soon as we brought up picket I
Went to it you had it on Deck didn’t you that’s that’s why you brought it up I should have seen that coming no it’s I got to get sharper I didn’t even I thought of pick it and I was like oh let me drop let me throw this picture up
Real quick while case is talking and surprising him all right well I’m going to ignore that this J Fields take here’s my take they’re going to reset their quarterback clock they’re going to trade fields to whoever the highest bidder that might even be a second rounder you know
Someone might get a deal on fields but here’s my take from this point on I think Fields will have a better career than Caleb Williams really I don’t think Caleb Williams is what they think he is I don’t think he is either but I think I
See I see a dude holding on the ball a whole lot and you can’t do that in this league man like he’s he’ll pass things up to hit a bigger play now can they coach that out of him to where just take what they give you and and build and
Then work and then learn when to take those explosives maybe but the things I see on tape man I don’t I I hear a lot of elite I don’t I don’t think he’s that Elite man I don’t see I don’t see you know Surefire future All Pro when I look at
Caleb Williams I just don’t Jack Jack AG Jack what’s up Mr McCurry yeah I listen I I’m not I’m not I’m GNA reserve my comments on him until I watch more film I’m in I’m in my I I I’m fully in my draft mode right
Now uh same brother so I I’m I haven’t gotten to all of his I want to watch his entire season before I gave my take on that I W I seen regression and that’s what I saw it’s not promising throughout the season or throughout his career from from yeah no from year to
Year um and I saw people saying oh he’s trying to do it all himself it’s like I think that’s who he is I don’t think that that’s like he was forced to because I I saw Guys open and he would pass it up to hit the big play you know
And like I get it man if you’re a superstar and you’ve been a superstar your whole life you you know you’ll you’ll take more chances you’ll hold on the ball and you see you see people pay for it you know what I mean you definitely see uh like burrow Burrow’s
Had to learn like dude you can’t be that you got to get the ball out you yeah you’re not that guy at this level nobody’s that guy at this level yeah you know even Mahomes has toned that down you know what I mean so Waton word and that scares me because my
Guys a running you know moonlights is running quarterback and you can’t live that way if Cam Newton can’t live that way for long you can’t do it either man if he ain’t built for it there ain’t there ain’t nobody built for it you know moonlights is a rushan he better only be
Moonlighting as one this year and he better be be one that’s getting his ass on the ground get the down get down quit taking hits quit taking on safeties my man like stop it like everybody says oh all this you know all his Defenders on on you
Know social media that’s just who he is well it can’t that can’t be who he is if you want him to actually be who he can really be or else he’s going to be on always be hurt like he had the shoulder injury already and he was taking hits he
Didn’t need to take Casey yeah yeah there’s a lack of awareness to know how valuable you are to your team and like that yard sometimes doesn’t mean that much if if you’re that guy so I mean let let’s be honest I have to trust that somebody in the organization has gotten
Through to him and he will stop taking those hits at this point he can’t afford to do that you don’t believe that when your instincts take when your instincts take over sometimes like that’s not going to factor in because you’ve been that guy your whole life and your body
Can’t like Cam Newton didn’t tone that down you know like you’re he’s so much big bigger though like he can take that’s what I’m saying and he wasn’t built for it and eventually it cost him his shoulder it’s exactly what happened now the case study I’m looking at now is
Josh Allen Josh Allen’s that guy now it’s Common Thread Ken dorsy through all these guys is he didn’t get through to those dudes to knock it off is he gonna be able to get through to Watson that’s a really good point I didn’t I didn’t catch that there you’re right
But the the the problem is Watson is not Josh Allen and he is not Cam Newton he is not that kind of running quarterback so get your ass on the ground so you can get back in the Huddle or guard or else it’s not going
Work it’s not going to work you ain’t go to be the shooting guard you ain’t got to be that guy yeah um yeah he he should not be playing agreed Jack he should not be playing the game like Allen or Newton so they shouldn’t they shouldn’t be
Playing like that with their types let alone someone who’s 6’2 and 215 but they can get away with it like Allan can get away with it it that bill comes do brother yeah it will I I’m just saying like Watson doesn’t have even any time to play with getting away with that like
Day one you need to be in prot problem he got away with it for a while so he believed that that’s what it was and then like you saw it come saw it happened you know yeah yeah yeah shck said it Andrew Lu yeah that bill comes du man give a
How big you are it’s good point hey great job tonight thank you all for participating in all eyes on Cleveland Let’s uh I’ll hit the like button on your way out for Nick Castell stopping by from signal to give us uh some insight into the stadium uh we will

We landed on the moon today. It looks like the Browns could win the Superbowl in the 2024 season.
DPJ was cooked by being the punt return guy and not fielding punts when defenders were there. He just let the punts go which pinned the offense down on the other teams goal line. End-of-Story.
The fact of the matter is we need to spend a premium 2nd or 1st round pick on a receiver to get a day one starter that Is a difference maker. That or we seing for the fences in free agency and spendnthe 25 mill a year on a proven star receiver. Anything other than that will be perceived as a "failure"
Hopefully watson comes out and balls out this year. So sick of the national media
Great poscast
Browns need a brand new stadium with a retractable roof. You could then use the facility all year long for various venues. Why can’t Cleveland have a state of the art facility!
Nuance, subtlety instead of sensationalism – breath of fresh air from onslaught of almost all national media and some local media
