Way too far in front of the game and so let’s talk about New Zealand’s Innings which I mean if you’re a kewi I would I would be guessing the last two series that New Zealand and Australia played against each other the last time was in Australia was 201920 that summer out in

Australia Australia won that series 3-0 but um the year after that New Zealand went on to win the World T Championship point being they had a very very good team and they just have not done it against Australia this side right now I don’t think it’s as good as what that

Side was um but it’s still a good team and then you look at their first chance their first crack at it against Australia at home winning the toss maybe getting slightly the more favorable conditions maybe it’s still still doing a fair bit and then they put together

That [ __ ] car crash I would be like okay this is just never going to happen in my lifetime that’s that’s what I’d be thinking if I was a kwi fan um which I’m not for me it was just a good afternoon uh it was a good Friday afternoon it was

Australia’s um just just like in Australia’s um favor is that like I does any team in modern Cricket go to work the way that Australia’s bowling quartet does like literally clock in at 9:00 and just start hitting areas channels change up in Pace change down level emotions

And just get results uh like I feel like New Zealand shat the bed as a result of just how much this quartet simply goes to work on an inconsistent it’s an H&R Block just H&R Block I go there from a tax return job done it’ll come back to

Respect him and we might just um uh like lay off and we’ve done a bit of commercial work together and whatnot and you you believe to this to this day that Kane Williamson in like by himself is above the New Zealand little brother syndrome with Australia uh but today

Unfortunately for Kane I think proved otherwise because irrespective of what happens with Will Young and Stark being there there was no run there at any point if Stark does manage to do what a lot of soccer players plead to the ref about and disappear star can disappear Manus runs Kane Williamson out

By a length M uh but then you have this little mixup Stark does nothing wrong uh they they crash into each other and you think wow Kane you you suffer from this too that’s a shame and then also the the temerity and I can like you know tell me

If I’m wrong here but to to turn around several times sort of I thought okay maybe he’s actually just having a crack at Will Young uh that’s fine but like then he comes off the field and as picked up by uh you know earthw journalist Barett suer raisen he’s he’s

Long long into the review mirror um we’ll say that his decline started after the ashes in 2019 uh like you know which to that end was after a one-year layoff so uh you know he exploded with Brad menes runs after the ashes and then was never the

Same uh that that’s that’s what I think but his never the same is still pretty passable uh and yeah and you also never R off Champion so I I’m not I’m not doing that with Smith I’m not I’m not not jumping on that bandwagon and you should reap Pete Law’s paace in cricket

Going to be mad of the match for their Innings and um that locks him in for four for a while which is the right thing to do but um but I was just think about the players that Australia have had over time given that Bradman and Ponting batted three in their careers

For the most part border batted lower order so did Michael Clark Steve War batted five um Steve Smith is is the greatest number four that Australia has ever had he’s the best number four we’ve ever had I think there’s a motivational issue there as well with him feeling

Like he needed to like um reboot something almost like a factory refresh um just to make him a iPhone now um to to get it going again he scored runs in the last game it’s going to be fine but um there’s always going to be that thing

Of like he’s the best four we we ever had in test Cricket so um I just think the best years are behind him but as to to exactly to your point whatever the next run is for him is still at least in the top half batters in the world if not

More so um I think it’s I think it’s fine Manus is a Manus is a is a is a different one because he gets out in a way that it just it just looks like it’s never going to score a run at the moment

It it looks all at C doesn’t it um but I’m still backing him because he’s still good he averaged 60 for like four years in test Cricket so he hasn’t lost it but um it’s it’s a decline going to be drop off drop off anyway well yeah I just

Think he’s deeply out of form but I do think a lot of people you know he’s he’s the next discussion point now Travis head won’t be on that rack because he just did some of the greatest things ever in cricket when his country really needed him for the last year or so

Uh I think Manus is in like and I think a lot of cricketers have been here not at the test level though but like I think Manus is in cricketing hell at the moment like there are no runs for him irrespective of what he does and then

Compounding that his his he had a technical issue the confidence is gone now there’s very little um proactivity and uh you know precision and intent about he’s batting he’s sitting back uh like we have all been there in one way or another playing cricket um I think

He’s into like get away from the game territory I’m talking like have another child um Rebo his life uh take take some mushrooms and find yourself kind of stuff I think Manus will be back I think he’s uh got class and he knows how to

Score runs at the top level but it it won’t stop speculation about him which is the standard that Australia holds for its number three number three just has to be scoring bulk runs at all costs and all times uh that’s that’s what we ask for uh you’re right yesterday he will

Receive some kind of reprieve in that Australia doesn’t play test Cricket for 10 months after the after the next test so uh he he has that time to get away and to uh fix whatever he needs to fix or to or or or do whatever he needs to
