Buos good morning everybody and here’s a message just really to highlight the importance of making sure that when we look after our equipment and hopefully our equipment will look after us hi jfi and uh one reason why we want to make sure we keep our clubs clean for

Specific reasons so going to go through my bag driver again very important just to keep the face clean you shouldn’t really be getting too much mud or anything on there if we’re hting good drivers um and then into our irons all the irons as you can see I always look

After them after every shot now there are ways to do this and there obviously very beneficial reasons to do this one thing that we should all have is a towel on our bag and a lot of you would know that when I go out I will deliberately

Wet my towel one side will be the wet side and again that’s just to help help give my irons a clean and give me a better chance to keep on top of having clean clubs after I’ve hit every shot importance for that is because the grooves do act as a very important

Factor when we hit the golf ball so if these grooves are plugged in mud or dirt or Grime or whatever and these grooves can’t be seen well then the golf ball is not going to be able to grip on these grooves so it’s similar in a way just

Imagine kicking a football with a brand new pair of football boots and then kicking a football with a pair of boots that you’ve just covered in mud obviously your contact on the ball is going to be completely different so you’re not going to get the best out of

The engineering same football boots and golf clubs these are designed engineered for a reason so these grooves we want to be clean so how do we keep the grooves clean again really important when it gets down onto our wedges because these are our real scoring clubs and this is

Where we want to have Optimum control of the ball so how do we keep them clean well there are a few ways let’s have the wet towel always when we go out um I use and never did for many many years but until about I don’t know probably about

Six or seven years ago I adopted one of these brushes that I was probably I don’t know skeptical when I was a junior about using these they perhaps don’t look so cool or something but you know that kind of disappears when you get a bit older um and the reason for it just

Cuz they are so good I only tend to use the the the hard wire part to the brush it has got another softer one um if I can get it out but the for me the wire brush is just optimal and I have it in my pocket every time I’m playing and

Really after every shot I just give a quick wipe of the grooves like this doesn’t make any damage to the club at all and it optimizes that you’ve got your grooves perfectly clean for your next shot so I will do that after each shot wet towel good club now dry can be

Done before the shot but personally I like doing it as part of my shot routine so as soon as the club’s clean back in the bag my shot is now over so I can continue relaxing chatting enjoying the time on the course before I then have to start

My new shot new process so I’d certainly advise one of these it’s also got a spiky thing in the middle but as I say I don’t use those the other reason other thing for it similar to the spike is just an oldfashioned way is our te and

Obviously uh you know a tea That’s got a nice point on it and not been used too many times you’ll find that the tea again fits nicely in the grooves and we can just scrape along there so it does a similar technique if you don’t have one of the

Brushes a tea if you’re interested in one of the brushes let me know because I’ll uh see if I can get a few at a nice price for for all the boys from the shop here in Villa Martin so there we are clean clean clean and another thing a

Lot of people I see a lot is Putters and again hugely important when it comes to the contact between club club head and golf ball the same very important that we always have our golf ball very clean wet towel after every time we get to the

Green when your ball makes a pitch mark it normally picks up a bit of dirt with the pitch mark that a clean sometimes harder CU your tail might be at your bag on the edge of the green or the trolley but on the side of the green I don’t

Advise licking the ball that’s a very dangerous thing to do on golf courses with the pesticides fungicides uh insecticides that are used so I wouldn’t advise licking on it worst case scenario is to spit or just on the side of the green not on the green but on the side

Of the green if you have’t got a bit of mud you know normally that grass is a little bit moist so you can just wipe it gently on there so make sure you’ve got your clean bow and and as I said Putters making sure your putter face don’t know

If you can see this is perfect because if this has got any indentations any cracks any Cuts any dirt well you’re not going to get the optimum contact on your ball so I see a lot of people who don’t have their putter in the putter head cover so highly recommended make sure

You always keep your putter in its cover and look after the putter face as if it is gold dust because that is so important the grip wise well that doesn’t matter you can see my grips had uh had a good workout but uh sometimes people get a little bit attached

Particularly when it comes to to our putting and the patting grip but always good to make sure you’ve got grips in good condition everyone anyone needs new grips let me know because I do grip Replacements to the highest of level and highest of specification so there we

Have it there’s my bag that’s the fivewood under the cover don’t use that too much but again not too much dirt on that and trying to keep them as pristine as possible and hopefully then they look after me so there we are tomorrow morning going to be testing uh checking

The all everyone’s golf bag everyone’s clubs there’s not a single Speck of dirt or dust or or mud in any of the grooves and they’re all ready to be looked after the thing is I say to people once you got clean clubs once you’ve got a clean

Bag it’s then a lot easier to keep them clean as you play and as you practice uh after a practice session you know you might have hit 20 balls with an eight AR were no problem wet towel give it a clean one Club straight back in and

Ready for the next time that’s just how I operate just to keep on top and make sure that my bag is in as good a condition as it can be so like always it’s not down to the arrows down to the indiia okay guys see you soon happy
