Those who can’t do, teach. I’ve had this phrase thrown at me more times than I can count, and it’s difficult to tell someone’s ability through a simple youtube video. As someone trying to help folks improve, it would make sense if my ability to help others improve was most important. However some understandably want to see the credentials. In Episode Two of Keep it 1000 I’m going to try and shoot 1000 rated golf at Pinson Disc Golf Course again!! Trying to prove to myself first, can I play some good golf? Yall getting to see is just an added perk. Can I accomplish it? You’ll have to watch to find out!!

What is up YouTube fam Robie C here we are back at Pinson disc golf course and y’all it’s time to see if we can do what we couldn’t do before one stroke short last time let’s see if we can find that stroke out there today y’all it’s time

To keep it 1,000 but before we dive in I have to ask Ivan how are you doing today are you having a goodat so here we are back at the course before we dive in and get to whole one you guys if you’re not familiar or didn’t catch the first episode of the

Series what I’m trying to do is I’m trying to go through rounds at my local courses and see uh can I shoot a thousand rated round and I’m going to start at one course until I shoot a th rated round there check and then move on to the next one from previous

Tournaments and looking at them in order to shoot a thousand rated round I need to shoot 14 down here at least now the thing about this is that because it’s such short course it’s a part 50 before every single stroke has a ton of weight

To it last time that we tried this we ended up at 13 down really came down to had Ace the last hole uh but we’ve got two game plan changes that we’re making this time one we have some new discs in the bag we actually have fossil Putters

For Wizard plastic now but unfortunately it is colder and Winder doing this a month later than it was when we did it a month prior so that’s tough so probably Tanga is still going to be getting a lot of the Lion Share because toena is a little grippier because she’s used we

Have a brand new overstable putting approach pig in the bag we have the Halo Nexus Pig the other game plan change besides new discs in the bag is thinking about the problem holes that we have out here hole three hole six ho 10 11 12 15 16 18 so there are eight holes

There so we have to get half of them in order for for the goal to be hit let’s see if we can do it all right ladies and gentlemen here we are hole one on the te looking at hole one 264 ft it’s just right out there going Halo

Nexus Pig here let’s see what we can do felt like we were going to hce run it there for a second but uh I bet we ended up short and we’re like 15 ft to the right okay I’d say a little Beyond 15 ft it’s always interesting also first put

On camera of the day making sure we like for these to be tap-ins because that can always happen when you just shank it and also I apologize I slipped I forgot that I’m you know trying to go for a rating we won’t throw any of those like secondary

Shots again not trying to get practice strokes all right hold two 126 ft heo Nexus Pig again oh that’s got to hit that tree oo not only are we super far right but I’m pretty confident that saw like soft like softing that we have left both of

The only trees that are in the Fairway in our way this could be a Monumental momentum gain right off the bat nope that’s tough guys that’s tough we’re going to have to turn it on going to have to turn it on here we go normally we’ve been throwing

350 168 ft moves off to the left we’ve been throwing precious child on this one on like a little bit of a Hiser flip but precious child’s getting real flippy so if you put any juice on her whatsoever she’s turning over so we’re going to go

With this glow Wizard and just kind of pipe her down and let her Fade Out She almost hit the pole nice nice got to commit got to commit now so we almost H the pole I mean that we almost hit the pole bang I think at this point it would

Be easy to look at like okay really two down two three you missed the easiest hole literally on the course how are you I’m mentally collapsing right now but I really liked the power and the hit that we gave a outside of the circle putt on

Hole two I just pulled it right so we like everything about it let’s lean into that that confidence rather than like oh no we’re falling apart all right hole four 261 ft another thing to think about here we have a few aable holes so if the putts feeling confident we can leave

These a little higher a little wider and give ourselves a chance of an ace got to hang it wide and miss this tree in the dead middle we missed the tree we threw a wide that is exactly how we drew it up I think in looking at that tree that we

Talk about that we got a Miss in my mind I always anticipate or like think that that tree is further away from the basket than it is but this like last tree that exists so I think you just got to push past it and if you want to park

It you just got to fade in right after that if you want to Ace it you got to push a little straight this was zoom in bang whole five 231 ft it’s just just a tunnel shot if you hang it right hit those trees just right at the basket

That’s fine but just got to get it down there now be a pig and fade in it’s long but it’s down there it’s down there a lot less tapin so far than we had round one but I’m fine with that that means put’s going to be on when we need

It there it is there it is one thing that I talk about when people do like practice putting in their backyard and everything is that I talk about like don’t stand here with a stack of Putters and just like wham wham wham I’m not going to putt because you know practice

Strokes I will bring my mini marker with me and I will place the mini marker move the putter do my full routine throw the putt pick up the mini marker step off so that way it’s not not just the actual putting motion but it is literally the entirety of the routine

That Feels Like Home to me so that when I step up and I’m nervous or anything like that I can clear that out and just let muscle memory take over which is why come in here this feels natural even if they’re 20 Footers we’re just moving and

Grooving baby technically this is one of the holes that I’m looking at as like a possible ace hole so I need to not throw it 240 feet I probably need to throw it 250 260 feet so what I’m trying to do is I’m going to go Precious Child here and

Try to yam on it with some Heiser and let it stand up straight yes sir yes sir pole 7 165 ft I’ve been playing the forehand on this hole uh like playing glow golf out here I’ve been playing the forehand but very similar Vibes to the

One that we shorted on to if a hole is in your head obviously you have to overcome you have to overcome you have to overcome cannot say that enough the thing is is that this walking path creates the OB and Beyond and it actually bends right like closer to the

Basket so there’s left room right I’m going to try to play the Hiser out and around 165 ft rather than throwing the forehand where I have to like throw it low it’s going to be really tough to get it there and then also if it flares out I’m in

Trouble that could be really deep no it’s fine I mean it was zooming and I was like oh no we’ve thrown it to OB another thing I was thinking about as someone who likes solo films a lot and has to set the camera up cuz I think

When you watch like solo film YouTubers out there one of the things is like where do they set the camera up in relation to their focus point I think a lot of people end up putting the the camera behind them and probably the reason for that is that like it keeps it

Out of there so you can focus on the stroke and everything cuz obviously when you’re putting in general my card mates are not standing in front of the basket or if they are they’re very still all that trying to not be a distraction beyond the basket whereas I think like

If you ever have any intention of playing on coverage or things like that like you want to go professional at all get used to having someone on the other side of the basket because nine times out of 10 coverage while yes they are going to try to post up behind you if

You end up on Big Time cover coverage there are a lot of cameras a lot of audience things like that so you’re going to be have to get used to having people in front of me I like having the camera there and honestly most of the

Time I like forget that it’s there which is nice it’s a skill that you learn over time all right whole eight 192 ft the funny part is that last time I think this was like the first tester putt that we had and it just shows you the difference between these rounds like

Today the drives aren’t there so we’re having to make 20 footer after 20 footer after 20 whereas last time we didn’t have to make really any 20 Footers oh I actually think hitting that tree might have been the most clutch thing we could have done because we probably

Juiced it but it corrected it and we landed right next to the fireplace actually thought that for a second we were going to skip in if we don’t hit that tree I think we’re in a ditch put or we’re like beyond the ditch right here also someone told me that I foot

Faed in the last video so I’m making sure you know we’re marking it we’re playing playing her legit this is one that going right at it all for some reason it always terrifies me because I can just play the forand out wide for hand’s working that’s so deep okay we have definitely left

Ourselves another tester that’s okay we’re feeling good it was 185 ft and I think we just threw that like 240 just what we expected to be once again again operation keep legit I saw this stick like sitting right here and almost just kicked it but that’s in front of my lie

Which would be illegal that’s tough it was a long putt it was not it was not that long it felt very makeable it felt very makeable that one hurts I’m going to go they call me Mr Pig which is my straighter Pig kind of on a dart

Right at the tree right of it and give ourselves a chance of a putt they call me Mr Pig I’m going to putt with Halo Pig Cuz Mr Nexus over here probably the one with the best chance of finding chains hole 11 2113 ft this is one that

We’re not going to mind having the distance and power that we’ve had before we got to throw it straight got to give ourselves a chance to make a putt for the two no that’s in the road hit the tree woo that’s all we have to say about that ladies and gentlemen was it

Pretty certainly not does that putt demonstrate that the right Mist that we had on nine is in my head sure does sticking to the plan because this disc is about to get a lot of work here traditionally we’re throwing the backhand forehand here we’re trying to send left of the main

Tree and then sort of hit short by that like dead grass area over to the left and let it flare over to the basket I was afraid to give it some juice right off the bat we might be in it boys and girls I know Izzy and IA specifically watch this here we

Go woo that’s another another one baby that’s another one just got to keep cooking hanging it out wide letting it crash back in here we go it’s perfect here we go guys we’re playing with confidence playing with confidence all righty we’re overcoming I will go ahead and say that

Just in a a voice text because we have uh for the birdie fam which is my patreon community um I posted the link to this round as I’m playing it to the birdie fam um so that they can follow along and see birdie fam great Community obviously uh disc golfers looking to

Improve one stroke at a time that is the group that gets the most immediate access to me uh I try to be in there for a good bit most days um we also do form reviews there we have a bi-weekly podcast that is uh sort of like a

Question and answer time we have some hangout times y’all there’s just a lot packed in there and then also this video is dropping on a Tuesday the following week the birdie fam actually com into town and we’re celebrating and having like a big inperson Gathering it’ll be a lot of fun

But uh yeah I mean I’m biased but it’s definitely my favorite community in disc golf so if you ever been curious patreon.com robc dis golf birdie famam join us for as cheap as $5 a month you can certainly tell that the adrenaline is kicking in because I’m warming up I’m

Like feeling sweaty the sun is on my face whole 14 commit commit commit stay with me commit we want to commit on this shot we’re going to throw this right at it give her a chance we committed and that’s fine there it is we got to get two more

To lock it up ho 15 336 ft goal is grabbing the Felon again we just got to throw it on a nice forehand at the Green Grass and let it skip up we’re pin High We definitely turned it too much uh like I definitely came over on it it doesn’t need flexes I

Could have just thrown it what a silly little man I am yes yes that is a a wait off the chest because regardless of what happens here on these next three holes we have now birdied every hole that we missed in the first video we’re in our head on the

Putting green but we’re at 13 down right now and at 13 down we just need one more we need one more and then we need parse one more and then we need parse keeping the Felon alive 320 something F feet 330 ft we’re going wide and letting her fade

Back oh that’s going to be short that’s going to be in that tree and it rolled directly behind the tree W we’re over 50 ft away I think trying to send my wizard to try to give it the height I think there’s a very real chance that I would go and hit one

Of these trees do I wish I would have just cleared the tree for sure for sure because that’s a tap in right there man that one hurts I really like this ho 260 ft bask is right there it’s a spike eer into the green when you put a Pig in Robbie se’s

Hands and tell him to throw a spike Heiser it gets done that’s 14 just got a par the last one but hey why don’t try get a birdie closet 18 340 ft playing the overstable backhand but the forehands working we’re playing to our strengths right now we didn’t try to flex

It we certainly didn’t try to flex it but the wind unfortunately did Flex It Wide Open putt stiff headwind just float her over there give her a chance to drop in didn’t want to leave her too high this wind can get all squirly and I think that’s definitely a one where

You’re like oh nothing bad can happen like it’s just that easy but bad things can happen right on the pole you little mock three right on the pole you tried to tried to get us there at the end so that concludes it pening disc golf course keep it a th000

Check this one’s done honestly grateful that we got it done in two I think it would have been like underwhelming if we got it in one because it would have just like oh well that course is too easy I this one didn’t necessarily come down to the last

Hole cuz we got it on 17 we just had to hold it on 18 would have been nice to get the 15 to just like solely lock it in you guys are going to vote for the next course that we do next month in March your choices are we have Magnolia

Links disc golf course uh I have videos of both of these channels or both of these on the channel it’s going to be about the same score at both of these courses to shoot but there’s definitely some variants uh instead of just more Flat Park style the others have some

Open holes but also Al have some like really tricky wooded holes that could really get you real fast Magnolia links is option one and then on the other we have the University of monal uh so magnan links is like my favorite course to take newer players to even more so

Than this also had a shout out another I know she watches Vanessa thank you so much for tuning in hope you guys are enjoying this so far and uh what would you like to see changed for future episodes things like that thank you so much for tuning in hope you have an

Amazing rest of your day please make a fantask for someone else too but for now we’re going to leave you with the birdie

  1. Very cool to see a similar concept to what we're doing in Tulsa but in a different way. Definitely going to be following this series!

  2. When I work on putting from a set distance, I fan out my discs so that I must properly address each put. It's better for me because the ground changes and I'm forced to deal with the slight differences of each lie. I know some watch me and wonder why I move in circles, but I rarely miss from inside of 25 so I know this works for my game. I even set and go through my motions on gimmees when I can reach out and drop the disc in. Stay in form.

  3. Magnolia, hearing you talk through shot selection and maybe understand why you choose that course for new players would be cool as someone introducing new people to the sport.

  4. Does everyone, when they play glow, put a light on the basket? Do you run down and do it? Rotate who does it if you're with people? I've also considered playing courses backward and placing the light on the basket then going on the tee. As many steps but I like that order of operations better.

  5. Loving this series! Also, great tips on solo shooting. It would be dope if you made a video on how you solo record your videos. Could be useful for those of us looking to get started in the DG content creation side of things!

  6. Way to go Big Rob!! So glad for you to take it down. Let's keep the next one 💯0 at Magnolia Links!
