This Giant, $50 Box of Baseball Cards Surprised Me: Part 1 of 3

Episode 181: I recently acquired a giant, eight-pound box of baseball cards from a thrift store for a mere $50. I honestly wasn’t expecting much from this, other than perhaps some material for this channel. But what I actually found in here surprised me. Join the journey in this three-part series.

Hey there sports fans and car enthusiasts welcome to the channel so I was perusing the bounds of eBay the other day actually a couple months ago and uh was looking for different you know baseball card purchases to maybe pick up for the channel and stumbled across a bunch of baseball card Lots uh

Advertised from a thrift uh vintage thrift store in Las Vegas uh they had several Lots where they were doing baseball cards and Box by the pound and they had you know 5 lb boxes 3 lb boxes 10 lb boxes and this one was an 8B box

And most of them were modern cards is most of the cards look like Commons but this one intrigued me so I decided to pick it up they were asking $70 I believe for it uh after looking at the one picture cursory at the box which is

I’ll show you what it looked like here cuz I’m going to show you the box uh I offered $50 and uh they accepted so I got an 8 lb box of baseball cards what does that look like well this going to look like this right here let me pull it oh hold

On let me not address the mat there and this is what 8 lbs of baseball cards looks like and the reason I picked this one up is it looked a little bit intriguing cuz it had some 81 tops in there had some 85 donus uh Leaf it had

Uh you know 75 tops in there and uh you know a bunch of other stuff so I don’t know I’m guessing this is all going to be Commons but you never know if there’s a diamond in the rough here so for 50 bucks all in I figured it was worth the

The going through these so what I’m going to do is probably split this into two videos and uh we’re just going to quickly go through this box I’m going to very quickly go through it and we’ll see if we get any dings in here whatsoever

So I’m kind of excited to jump into this I hope you guys are too I’ll try not to make these videos too terribly long but we’re going to get into this right right Now all right folks eight pounds of baseball cards I don’t know what I’m doing here but we’re just going to hop right into this and like I said I’m going to go through these super duper quick and see if there’s anything of value in here whatsoever or if it’s all

Just a bunch of Commons which I’m guessing it’s going to be but even if it’s just Commons it’s not bad for at least some set building stuff here so we’re just going to go through these and I’ll try my best not to hit the camera

As I’m doing this but uh see if we find anything of value here is it Dwight Evans from 85 Dar Leaf these look like all 85 Dar Leaf there’s a nice Allen traml Deon James there’s say is a Reggie Jackson we’ll give that a little mini

Ding for Mr October there and we got a bunch of looks like 9 score here nothing big there not going to be any big winners in there or rookies I don’t think maybe some rookies but nobody of super importance the 89 here’s a some 87

Dones here now mind you I might hit the camera several times as I’m reaching into this big pile of cards here so I apologize if I do that we’re just going to like I said it’s a big mess of cards here a ju Sam Diamond King Steve kefir rated rookie these are

And Jerry Martin these are a lot of these are 85 Leaf Donis Leaf uh let’s see here Denis rasm it’s nice to have some 85s I’ve been looking to put together an 85 set so this might help uh let’s see here 85 top set that

Might be a little ding but I’m not gonna again not going to hover over these too long nice Lance Parish George froster Heisel Hall of Famer Rose suder there all right we keep going 81s Chris chambas Corbett asan Rudy May aie Smith All-Star card couple of those from 85

And we’ll get a little ding to those uh Wayne nagen Steve mosia more 85s Walky andar Diamond Kings a Jim Rice Diamond Kings was somebody who put the price tag 50 cents right on it so uh kind of a rough one there uh Lis let’s see Cloud Washington

For him another almost Clemens there Rich Gale and ay mfan see here Gman drai F deino oh look at that folks look at that we got a Kirby Pucket rookie card in this how cool is that that’s a home run right there wow okay this is box is paying off

Already Crowley Foster did not expect the uh Kirby Pucket there traml Bren Smith retti loving this already absolutely loving this this is a fun one to look through and I might have to look through this a lot slower off camera see what else might be hiding there’s another Carlton we’ll ding

Him and we got that again the corners of these and conditions of these aren’t going to be best because they’ve been just thrown in here but I mean this is already a nice little win there’s a Schmitty we’ll take a Schmitty marfield look that rolling Ryan another ding for

Ryan this is a nice box here I was worried that I wa just dumped 50 bucks on nothing but this is a turn out good I see a bunch of 1989s in there I’m not going to worry about some scores that’s the is that the Bo Jackson card

That is the Bo Jackson MVP card not not be worth a you know a buck or two one Gonzalez rookie card dinged up but we’ll do that what else we got we got Will Clark Harish Eric sha all right diving in for some more what’s this big stack here we

Got like we got some 87 dones you find a Bonds in here all right Gallagher Newman there some more 90 scores Parker Pettis George Brett you know I think George Brett it’s not worth a ton but I’ll give him a ding Steinbach Barry Hill do Alexander all

Foley all right did I look at those yeah I did I look this a stack of scores there all right we are we might have to make this this three videos I don’t know whole bunch of 89 tops or maybe I just skip through these not go through these
