I see a lot of comments that Fonseca choked. Did he really. Looks a clear case of match fixing. Everyone anticipating a fonseca win. Navone played so pathetic but Fonseca just gave it away. There was absolutely no effort in his shots and service. Intentionally sprayed the ball. Sad but true face of match fixing in tennis

If Khachanov's super lob just on point in the TB of the 1st set at Doha Open final against Jakub Mensik while the score was 2-5 was a decisive moment and turning point of the match, so was the case in the 2nd set of this match as Fonseca led with a break 1-0 having won the 1st set with relative ease — and then Navone won the marvelous second point of Fonseca's serve and it was 15-15 the rest being history. That is tennis: Joao Fonseca must pay his dues.

Unable to sustain, Fonseca tailed off mentally at the end. Perhaps a chink in the armor? Time will tell if his mental game will improve or fall further. 17 years of age is still quite unpredictable mentally at this stage. Wish him the best.
