Alan goes over the major changes in his golf bag set up for the new year!
Hey guys Alan Watson from Golf Plus here to show you my 2024 bag setup got a whole new setup here from tailor made and I’m excited to show it to you all right first off let’s talk about this beautiful golf bag that Taylor Made sent
It is a staff stand bag with all of the features it’s a heavy pu bag like a vessel bag it’s got my logo on the front got the team tailor made badge there this bag is absolutely stunning and uh it’s got a four-way top it’s a little
Bit heavy not the kind of thing you really want to walk with even though it’s a stand bag but it does the job it’s got lots of storage and it looks great starting from the top of the bag we’ve got the new driver this is going
To be the tailor made qi1 LS in a 9° got the movable weight that I’ve slid into the heel position um honestly usually hit it in the heel a little bit so that’s why I did that but I’ve noticed that with this shaft combo and this head
Set up I’m actually hitting it pretty much dead center every time so loving that ball flight has definitely been exactly what I want I’m using the graphite design xc7 s so it gives me a little bit of weight a little bit of stability and it’s not too stiff since
My club head speed’s actually slowed down a little bit over the last couple of years but loving the new driver next up is the 3-wood again I’m using the QI 10 this is the plus series 3-wood with the adjustable weight in the back I have the weight slid about
Halfway forward um trying to work on that figuring out where the spin needs to be with this club it’s a 15 degree 3-wood I have it set in the neutral position and I’m using a graphite design UB TX uh 7 weight shaft this is a little
Bit stiff for me this was my first experiment with with this new head but this shaft will be coming out and I’ll be putting something just a little bit softer in there something to get a little bit more height um I love the distance and and the control especially
Off the T with this uh 3-wood but I just want to hit the ball a little bit higher so I can land it a little bit softer so we’ll be changing out that shaft but qi1 plus three wood all right for irons I’m playing four through pitching wedge in
The black p770 Iron from tailor made this is a great combination of looks and feel uh I get a lot of forgiveness um for a Players Club but I get the nice thin Top Line that I’m used to the less offset and just an absolutely gorgeous
Club can hit the ball nice and high with these get plenty of spin to land the ball soft uh and just really love the look and the feel of these I’ve paired them with fujikura axium 105x graphite shafts U I’m not really an X swinger anymore but with the irons the 105x is
Light enough that I get the feel I want but with the extra stiff I get the control because I tend to be a little bit overcooking my iron shots with draws if I’m not careful so with the extra stiff lot of tip stability and then that
Takes care of that uh of course you know I play number one grips from Japan love that so we’ve got a nice black combo here with black uh BB and FCO ferals and the Fuji and the head just a sexy combination all right let’s talk wedges now my guys in the Dothan store
Especially have been telling me how great the tailor made mg M Grind series wedges are for a while now and I definitely believed them but hitting was really believing because these new mg4 are stopping the ball fast they’re hitting the ball high they’re spinning it like I want they got great touch and
Feel around the greens and I’m super excited so what I did was I went with a combo set just to kind of make it fun I went with a copper finished 50° got a little custom stamping on there uh I did a raw finished 54 again with some custom
Stamping and then I did a black finish 58 again with the custom stamping and paint fill um and I prefer a little more bounce so these are pretty standard bounce wedges there’s not a lot ground off on them there’s not a lot of anything removed they’re pretty standard
That way because I do tend to dig into the ground and take a pretty good divot so I like to have quite a bit of bounce on those um these are just playing Dynamic gold s200 shafts nothing you know out of the ordinary for wedges but they’re great uh I’ve made no
Adjustments to Loft or Li angle and everything seems to be working good I’m pretty dialed on my distances already only played a couple of rounds with them but definitely love these tailor made wedges one last piece of the puzzle of course is the putter now I do have a new
Putter from tailor made that they just sent me however I haven’t had time to put a KBS GPS 120 graphite shaft in it yet and the feel is a little bit firm off the face so I’m hoping that the graphite shaft will soften that up a
Little bit so until I get the TP Reserve putter in the bag from Taylor Made I’m still using my itori Japanese made burning copper finish putter it’s a classic anzer style I’m using a KBS tour GPS 120 uh Garson logoed graphite shaft with a sweet rolls grip Kobe uh from my
Dothan store turned me on to this grip and um it’s really awesome it’s a little bit bigger than what I’m used to honestly it gives me a little bit of control choke down on it feels great and the putter is working all right so that’s what’s in my golf bag for 2024 I
Will be adding some type of hybrid or fivewood or seven wood something else kind of at the high end of the bag I’m still waiting on something from tailor made so we’ll see like I said I’m also going to be putting the tailor made putter into play and I’ll be playing the
Tp5 ball which is one of my favorite golf balls played it on and off for the last several years looking forward to trying the 2024 version of that very very soon so anyway uh tell us what’s in your bag new for 2024 if there’s something you want to get fitted for if
