791 days on from the first fight, Jack Catterall finally gets his shot at revenge over Josh Taylor. We speak to Jack in Edinburgh after a fiery face off to launch the rematch.

#TaylorCatterall2 #Boxing

Into this Jack I asked Josh this question as soon as he got off the stage what’s that done in terms of just getting the juices flowing what what’s your verdict on on the first press conference ahead of the rematch yeah it’s exciting uh it’s been nice I’ve not

Bumped into him I’ve not seen him he’s been in hiding for two years so H it come out today it didn’t look too clever but it’s got the juices flowing and I’m excited for this one it has taken two years was you always confident that this rematch would happen or was there stages

Because it was dragging on a little bit you thought do you know what I’m never going to get my chance for Revenge you know what in the immediate aftermath uh I thought that the fight wouldn’t happen but then if you uh over the last two

Years and Josh must be the same uh my team and and everybody the fight still spoke about and people are constantly asking me when is this rematch so he’ll be getting the same so uh over the last year or so I did think that ultimately one day this fight is going to happen

Again you know mean you say it there do do you honestly believe he didn’t want this fight 100% I I believe I been forced into this I think he had great plans of going up to 147 to challenge for World titles up there he he cemented 140 but

Unfortunately for him his biggest fight is me I can accept that I know that this is my biggest fight but I think for him it’s a bit frustrating knowing that he can’t go up and fight Crawford Etc cuz it stinks still so he’s got to fight me

When you think about the the doors that will open for you jack I was just saying to Eddie Hearn there you’re ranked at a minimum of number six across all four goverment bodies how big of a threat is this to your world title Ambitions this fight yeah listen and that goes with a

Territory I I want to prove myself I want to fight the best and if this fight’s the victory that I need to put me one step closer to the world titles then game on what do you believe is more important to you if I was to ask you

This question today beating Josh Taylor and and having that that opportunity for Revenge which you feel you AG grieved the cross in the first fight or becoming a world champion you know what I want to I want to be involved in big fights this

Is a big fight uh it’d be the cherry on top if we could get it from for the world title I don’t believe that’s the case and I have Ambitions of going on and winning the world title but but this fight is probably worthy of a world

Title it’s a big fight and it’s uh it gets me up I asked Josh the same question how will this fight be different for you we going into round 13 uh We’ve shared the ring you you know yourself when you’ve been in the ring with somebody whether it’s sparring or a

Fight you’ve got to feel for that kind of person uh and you got to look at the landscape uh the fight with two years ago we both aged two years I have had two fights he’s had the one loss against Lopez so uh it’s a different fight but

Again it’s not so but I’m going to go in there and I feel like I’m still getting better I don’t know if I can say the same for him so expect to go in there and hit off straight away honestly who do you think goes into this rematch the

Favorite you know what I don’t bet a gamble so I wouldn’t even know but in my head I’m the favorite Jack every time I’ve spoke to you in fight weeks that that we’ve worked together in and I’ve asked for your prediction you’d always say a win at all cost is all that

Matters I won’t necessarily go looking for The Knockout but you said today 100% was the prediction you believe you win this fight what why is that inside the distance I would say I’m emotionally invested as Josh is uh a lot firey and listen I want to go in there and knock

Him out I’m going to do everything in my power to go and finish him I’m realistic if that doesn’t come I’m going to beat him pillar to PA for 12 rounds and Tempo flaring a little bit at the face off can you take anything from that yeah it gets

Me excited it gets the juices flowing like you said uh I’ve not seen him for two years so it’s nice to see him and listen he doesn’t look too great but that’s what we dealt with and uh I feel good ready for it and just finally Jack

The Road Show continues tomorrow I think you might be a bit more popular at tomorrow’s press conference especially Sam Jones as well just a little bit you know what credit to him turning out uh he’s got to expect it tomorrow in Manchester I expected it today and it’s

Part and partial and it’s nice to see the people take the time and come and support the Press conf can’t wait what a night this is going to be in lead can’t wait all the buildup well do not go anywhere tomorrow 5:30 p.m. the road show does continue no Darren Barker

  1. Boxing is a funny game – these two couldn't have been more cordial when Taylor beat Ramirez and invited Jack up to his room to celebrate after he stepped aside for the fight. Lol

  2. Josh got injured and you decided to fight someone else so Taylor was ordered to fight Lopez. That’s exactly what happened. Don’t lie and whinge, everyone is sick of it. Your getting your chance, but unfortunately for you this time you won’t get away with being boring and holding . Your going to get knocked spark out! Taylor is levels above you. Easy fight
