Harry Vaughan speaks to the press for the first time since joining Rovers.

Well first of all it’s nice to meet you how are you settling in at Bristol rers yeah I’m loving it to be fair um obviously it was a last minute thing and um I think it was like the last few hours of the deadline day so uh it came

To a bit of a shock but yeah I’m happy to be here and just adjust him really try to settle down as quick as possible and get another Lads and hopefully um all that that shows off the pitch yeah where you’re at with with h and I know

Um some whole fans are you very highly is it a good move for you to get some experience yeah I think so yeah cuz I know um holl going for a promotion this season to the Prem so um I knew my time on the pitch would be limited so uh for

A 19 year old I think it’s important to try to learn learn the game as much as possible um while you can and yeah I think this is a perfect opportunity for me if you could choose a game for a home debut it probably wouldn’t have been

Flicked in the pouring rain was it was it tough not just for you but for the team on Tuesday night yeah personally it was a tough tough games we were physical um you know I like the ball on the floor and I like to play um like nice football

But obviously in this league sometimes you can’t always count on that and you’ve got to uh be physical as well and compete as best as you can so yeah I thought it was a it was a quite a tough night obviously the weather conditions didn’t really help um too much for the

Team and for myself so yeah hopefully Saturday show something different is it fair to say games like Tuesday are actually good though because it’s complete contrast to under 21’s football isn’t it that the hustle and bustle the toughness of a league one game if you can get through games like that then it

Will really boost you moving forward yeah exactly that’s that’s why I’ve come to to get more um used to the men’s game um obious I played a bit last season for whole the last few games and played Off the Bench this season in the championship I know how physical that is

So this is the perfect opportunity to learn that side of the game and every every time I ask this question I apologize because and players hate talking about themselves but what what what are your qualities what will you bring to Bristol Rivers uh my qualities

I think I I like to get out my man um I like to beat in One V one and um obviously I like to stay in the pockets as well and um get the ball and get the team played and hopefully come up with a few goals and assists that’s that’s my

My aim so are you more of an attacking midfielder than a defensive one yeah definitely yeah I think judging by my size and that I don’t think i’ be too well in the defensive Midfield role so um yeah I’m more of an attacking attacking player and did it help having

A couple of other lone players joined the club last week as well yeah exactly we’re all we’re all settling in and getting to know all the boys and obviously we’re in the same boat really and we can get to know each other like that as well and you’re Manchester born

Is that right so um just talk a bit about your your your career earlier on um it was at Olden wasn’t it where you made a name for yourself yeah so Manchester ball and then I think or’s only 20 minutes away down the motorway so yeah I went there from 16 years of

Age me and my debut at 16 in Le two and then um played I can’t 39 games in lead two so um yeah that was a good experience for me and then uh last dead line day last minute I meet a hall so pretty much the same as what happened

There and um yeah never look back really well I reckon if you can play all those games in the National League then um League one hopefully will will be similar um internationally you could play for England but are you going down the Irish route yeah definitely I’ve uh

Been playing for Ireland now since I was 17 really so um yeah I love it there and it’s an honor to represent my country Burton on Saturday um I can’t say the weather would be any better what can we expect on Saturday yeah I think obviously the pitch I don’t know how the

Pitch is doing but hopefully the groundsman can do as best as the K only well and um make it as easy as possible to to play on it and um but yeah I think it’s going to be the same as Tuesday really because I know it’s going to be

Raining the next couple of days as well so we just got to be prepared and we’ve seen what it’s like on Tuesday and we’ve got to learn from that and hopefully put all the working and training into practice and win the game and I don’t expect you were too familiar with Rovers

And gas heads before you joined but just seeing the fans on Saturday exit they’re a passionate Bunch aren’t they and if you can get some results it’s um it’s a great feeling yeah definitely I think if we can get some results um they’ll be be

On our side and they’ll back us away so that’s just important to get the first goal on Saturday I think to get everyone behind us and it’ll make it easy for us
