Hey guys this is Chris nou here Sean ke and you’re watching episode 100 around so today we’re interviewing Oklahoma’s Own Joe Rodriguez some of you know him as Joe Rod some know him as Mexican Joe now we know him as clover show and also here we got Mark Dei with us they’re

Good good friends and I know they got a bunch of stories to tell um Joe I’m start off like I do with everybody what what got you started playing for I don’t know I was just walking by there with some friends and uh there was

A building there he couldn’t go in had a big sign there it said no dogs or women allowed so I told my buddies but we’re in man we’re not [ __ ] either one of them and got to looking through windows and [ __ ] and by the time I left there I

Figured I could be about half of them so I never hit a ball in my life but I thought I could win dogs are women huh no dogs are women that’s a natur I got that sign in the a garage somewhere it’s true story so when did you realize that

That’s basically what you wanted to do what you want to do for a living well I work most of my life but uh I made extra money because I didn’t you know we when my old man died my dad died uh we we were poor dirt poor and my

Mom did did a lot of ironing for you know people s Railroad and people that worked around there and when when I started getting tired of watching The Works of are and I figured out I by that time I was playing and I figured out I could make some money playing pool and

Hustling for these guys on the side you know like you know being the the they call a Bag Boy then you you get x amount of dollars for [ __ ] uh picking up debts either you won or you lost so you get the you know if you if if you had the the the

Winnings with you and you got a guy walking with you you had to go pay off you own your own you know so that’s how I learned how to make money and that was one of them it’s playing fool so at what age did you start

I start pain bu when I was like about 11 I got pretty good when I was like 15 and uh I learned from all those guys in Albuquerque how to pick up pick your opponents you know they showed you how to win and nobody knew how to

Lose Jimmy Moore andam they didn’t have no reason to lose you come around there you lose your money period or don’t come around there and and uh that’s how I was growing up you know and I was grown up around the pool room there had [ __ ] had [ __ ] gamblers and then every you

Could want it was all in that one twostory building and that’s how I grew up trying to make a dollar so that was Albuquerque yeah right off lus so whenever you moved when did you move to CL when I was like I don’t know 17 or 18 uh my older brother

Passed and I never really paid attention to cloes it just dropped off money in cloes and then uh I figured out that was a pretty good spot I was getting a little smarter I said well [ __ ] there’s air base here Santa Fe railroads here the that milk company that made the B’s

Milk was there there were like three big old [ __ ] places you know that there was money and I always wondering why they had all these F out of pool flares running around there well they never had to work they just come up and win their

50 bucks and go home you know I I join the club and then when I got where I could beat all them you know they you know po players are funny when the money is getting SP split up pretty good everybody’s happy but when somebody starts dominating like I was they wanted

To any man that happened wrong that was wrong he didn’t you know he stole that [ __ ] money he steal the [ __ ] money you know and uh my man always had going for me I never never stole nothing I won money but I never did steal it I learned from my dad

Boy you get ass whooping get stealing that money you know long as you throw out a pretty good product you’re good and old man show me you know stuff you know on the side like selling fruit and working on cars and this and that but

Can’t do that no more but you know I learned a lot of things you know do you remember your first po kid no back in Albuquerque they had a wall full of wiie hoppy tiers and you pick one out and then they tag it just like them tags right there

They tag it that was your stick you didn’t buy it that was your stick and nobody got to use it there was hundreds of them in there ain’t no telling how many tiess cues were in there they threw away cuz you know Jimmy Moore got them

For free so he give them to his customers and there was the ones with the joint the Willie hoppies were upstairs where all the gamblers were people like us that didn’t have no money we got to use the the housekeep but if you had money and

Reputation you go up there and play with a with the Willie hoppy breakdowns same difference up there you know ever just uh so what was the relation the relationship with you you in aoy 21 I was like a skid I was the only one ever got to do brown bagging before he was

21 never drank and you know I lived at home with my mom and my brother and and you I was just Scuffling he was a good guy good player too oh hell he was one I told Demi one time he’s talking about straight pool I said well [ __ ] where I’m from if you don’t run a 100 you can’t play SP they wouldn’t let you play in there you can

Run a 100 Balls oh Jim Mor go down there practice when he was 70 and run 150 balls wow every day first game straight no my I never played nothing but uh in there I played golf upstairs as I shot straight and downstairs I played eightball on on the bar on the big

Table and we played a lot of like uh last pocket eight ball you know and ghost at ball and stuff like that and uh ghost at ball was like you get to shoot you can’t miss once you miss you lose it’s like playing the ghost playan

N ball you know and there lot lot you know we played it just about every game that I mean jimm and you every game it was gamble playing po you know but back in defense playing full defense wasn’t really a big part of the game no you run out play

Defense get your ass you got him mad at you the people on the side betting on you they don’t want you put no stall down way everybody’s changeed play that two shot roll out that’s when expr that away right foul ball in hand yeah maybe you can tell

Us the players I grew up around were all gamblers they had more heart these guys are all TV buddies you know TV what they’re TV buddies they play on TV you don’t ever know who to play on because you don’t ever know who’s going to lose

On purpose you know buddy hall [ __ ] it up for all of us when he [ __ ] missed that n ball straight in at Lake Taco they had it going gone pretty good the pro series started and everything it was really good good and Buddy [ __ ] it

Up him and Michael Le Bron you know how you miss one that play in buddy hall from here to that chair straight in on a big table all the cameras are going buddy missed and not only that he got another shot and missed another one straight in he don’t miss he don’t miss

Nothing buddy never miss nothing in the life until then you know and of course they won a bunch of money you know and knock pool down that that knocked down the Campbell Tour all that stuff out I mean Kur live was a sponsor they were sponsoring Danny Medina for years

Years and they just runed everything they had to start all over again but then they got lucky uh Larry hubard and Terry Bell got into this APA but it picked pool up it moved it into pool uh into from the pool halls into the bars and that’s where the bar tables came

In bar came in and save pool back in them days you know everybody was back to playing pool I mean there were times dur in the pool hall might before before pool hall there was nobody in the [ __ ] nobody so before it called APA what called bu leag yeah some

There come the biggest oh that’s the biggest money owner there is yeah yeah there’s something like over 250,000 members I think that’s great and that’s what the thing we talking talking somebody I was interviewing the other day you know apaa they’re all about they’re all about their money right any

Business any business should be but they can care APA care they don’t seem to realize it would beers they never said They did you like any business yeah business I mean they they they can’t be in it for free so yeah you know that’s true fast forward so what oh my I lost my wife and I had a little girl and my boy so we moved here

To get away from there cuz I knew if I stayed there I was going to be gambling all the time and I had to raise them you know so I moved here and man I got here I didn’t work for two years I had I was you could go

Down anywhere around here and play five and $10 pool and people couldn’t play begging you to play they didn’t [ __ ] ask you they beg hey man can I play you one for five you know back home you had to fight for a $5 game over here they be wanting

To and I didn’t work for two years and then I I I just started getting into the bar business in you know a little bit here and there and ran into a guy named Mike Gil own AJ Gil I worked for him for about a month over there at that place

And then he said open a pool hall I went in I bought a pool hall on T Street you want to be my bartender I like I said where’s that he goes It’s called Aces and there’s an old man that works in there for me named

Walter you go in there you’ll show you the ropes you’ll be a bender by the afternoon I didn’t know nothing about barbend or nothing he just gave me some keys and said this is this this is that and you’re in and that’s how I started in the bar business that was about 89

Wasn’t it something like that yeah 89 yeah were you like we didn’t all we saw was potato chips and and uh K Pepsi and Coke that was it that’s it I me bunch of them but we did have a girl on there working her name was

Rhonda able to take hell of a man and whip her I’m tell you that she was Stan Jones’s wife that was the meanest guy around and the only way he would get out to go play pool is to tire her down with rope or wire or something and put her in her

Chair so she couldn’t move that’s the only way he got out to go play pool he told all of us that so when you got here and got on the pool scene some of the who were some of the top players around here uh driller uh jeld Norman Norman Norman was a champ

Norman Hitchcock was a champ around here uh he had Gary Nolan is that name Bushwacker what name Herman Herman the German James playing no had Pittsburgh Mike over South May yeah and Tall Tony or what was it that one eye Tony what about Eddie Ed a good player he just talked to

He just talk too much I never think he was a pool player you know he tell you the whole story him and Doug hillton had the same problem they always had a reason to lose and they always told you the same [ __ ] stories and if you didn’t listen they follow you around so

You listen to them wasy still play he quit I just heard about him I I never did see him play till later on you know so how’ you meet this young man I made him over there at uh what was that place off I35 where you bought that mui trying

Think no there was a the Pall right rap for Norman oh Starbucks Starbucks that’s where I met him he was play you playing somebody Starbucks yeah link penley had that place and he actually developed uh well World foosball players he I mean I think

His son and and uh was it Tommy Atkins I think the the world champion foosball players yeah but anyway link got that all together and he had that Starbucks and that that used to be one of the places all those younger guys would go I mean the older guys they’ be going like

South May at True Loves yeah you know Norman and Herman and all the oldtime players and had cards in the back room or dominoes and uh Pittsburgh Mike used to be playing in there it’s kind of where I went when I was 21 first time but uh the younger guys Starbucks is one

Of beginning places over there lots of younger guys go gosh 89 what what is that I don’t know I lost I lost count a long time ago yeah so I’m 60 68 now we’ve been running around together for about 30 over 30 Years brother best friend I ever had for those that

Don’t know don’t remember well this is world champion artistic shooter Mark Demi you go back and watch some of the actually you watch one of the first three episodes he was one of our first first interviews do some trick shots for us um did you go play the one they

Just what was that did you go play the one that they just oh the world championship no they just had the world championship in Michigan and uh they had I think they had pretty good group of guys I don’t know if they had 18 or something like that but they were from

All over the world I mean they had some guys from I think it was uh Korea or Taiwan and then they had young one guy from Argentina and uh he was a friend of Sebastian Jamal and jamali won when we had our tournament in China few years

Back but uh then they had a play from around the United States and uh and floran he’s from France and then where lives here now you know he’s he’s a resident now but he also had another player from France was there and uh it a pretty good group had uh quite

International Players one from Africa South Africa Way Parker but uh floran ended up winning it strong he shot strong he he didn’t miss too many shots I watched it so how much how much trouble have y’all two gotten in together to hear they tried to stay out of

Trouble I comment remember those stories where I be Wonder out other Stakes you never know about I want to hear about the not girl I remember that one we used to go out in leagues every you know almost every year for gosh 10 10 12 years and

We’d have pretty good teams here we have uh BL hiring anybody else yeah we had J Rod me and and we know have a mix up of different players over the years I mean we’ve had players like Toby and and Diamond Dave on there and Jack Snavely

Was always like the coach and Jack was real good I mean you you see somebody play defense and eightball they say oh Jack Snavely yeah and uh sely pool but uh we we’d go out there and play year after year we had uh oh let’s

See Jack could get get to where he would like to go out some the uh uh titty bars titty bars and uh Jack could have he come up to us first time and he has like this big stack of ones and there like this like this and Joe’s over here and

I’m over here and Jack’s goes he cuts it like a deck of card and goes here you go here you go and we’re sitting there and you on we at a I got a tight with my money I was throwing all my money at the woman out there the girl is out there

And know oh Jack You’ take he wouldn’t be impressive Jack could take that whole stack I mean he had Stacks in his pocket he take that whole stack she come around next to him he just take that just like a baseball just smack dollar bills fly all over the

Place but uh yeah Joe I said we were watching the girls and stuff and being entertained and what was it Joe what was it what did I say seen that one girl on her no I said that girl out there’s perfect I ain’t never seen nobody that

Perfect in my life like that girl and you go well I don’t know but she’s not perfect I said what the [ __ ] wrong with you man look at her he goes you go she’s got a scar in the back of her ankle oh n she all right oh but I never

Laugh so much about life just like being G or something man I just couldn’t believe it yeah tell like it is man to detail she was not the perfect one as far as Mark was concerned keep looking was a pretty good guy yeah he was something else we had some we had

Quite a few teams go out there and did really well I remember one year had uh that we went out there and had a pretty conservative team our our deal was had to be real good camarad you know we all had to get together and mesh and

Actually that’s the way it is anytime you’re on a team we I don’t give Scotch doubles or fiveman team eight man team or whatever and we’ve been on some but they didn’t mes and you can really tell and uh they had the stack team one year to come here and Oklahoma did pretty

Good on teams at the BCA and uh they had Randy Estes Caleb Moore James Walden was Charlie Bryant on that team Charlie Bryant who else was on there I mean they a stacked team I mean and uh we got there and we we were fortunate enough we actually beat him

Had meet him and played them and we ended up winning against them but uh yeah that’s well they say he had too many chiefs and not enough Indians yeah yeah that’s a perfect example how about some Road players Well Road players still existed coming through town and running into

YouTube we made a bunch of them their players come through a lot but mik Aces AC sessions at uh at [ __ ] uh Aces we used to play on Friday night and quit Sunday afternoon it what about what twice a month then we left there because we were

They were getting the cops were coming around we used to do that same thing over at uh 44 from South May Gary brigh let us play all weekend and after a while that Southside pole he said no man we can’t keep this going God damn you guys are never going

Home and found out later on in life that uh the wives were complaining that’s what that’s what stopped that down there you know so at a we didn’t have no problem I mean we just played and played and played even we had a couple of cops go down there and play

You know they didn’t care so after Aces where was your next spot we went to uh I started running uh what’s that place called TP City yeah I ran that for about four years for Old Chester and make pretty good money there it was pretty good

Place they didn’t have nowhere to go you know on that side of town it you know them girls with on on the weekends them kids come in there and just dress to the teas I mean you you wouldn’t believe they could afford kind of clothes that’s

The only place in the world they could afford to go to you know I mean it’s back in the day where it was F Cent F tables and uh Cokes for a dollar and a quarter and refill refills for free all night long so we got them all in all them kids and

You know as the first place we had a uh what they call it a a Scots doubles tournament for a guy that broke his hips we had 164 teams I never heard nobody have teams like that and ran it all in one [ __ ] day I mean the whole

Deal was there all day long I know I cooked every [ __ ] Burger in there and we we could running for some guy that broke his back Roger something can’t remember the name now but his wife was uh working for uh what was it the IPA the one that Don

Owens had oh yeah that girl was working for Don and that’s how they it got got it going and I S said uh oh I’ll run this by myself 164 I said well just J your ass back there Oldtimer see what happened lasted 10 minutes hurt his back

He said oh [ __ ] heed all them people made your back hurt right there mark how has your PO game changed from being around oh that just developed just like normal we uh well take that back over the years we got plan and we go out and uh travel

Around and uh I’m pretty particular who I travel with you know Joe probably is too but we get along pretty good I remember one uh um I guess my my weakest Point growing up and and was always the matching up you know yeah you’re not much of a hustler yeah just like just

Matching up with some bu and uh you know and I early on I mean you everybody all the players go through different phases you know where it’s gambling you your limit a high amount was 50 cents or a dollar When You’re 15 and you know and

You get bet any more than that and you couldn’t hit the end rail you know and people are still like that you know $5 might be their limit or $20 might be their limit but uh matching up was always my difficulty when Joe and I got together we started traveling around

Well Joe would uh I remember one time we was out in Vegas and he he was always matched up or he he was like the partner that you needed to cuz when you’re playing you just think well I just need to play better you know or I just need

To try harder you know or I you know so you’re just giving it you’re 100% you know you don’t look at anything else we was out Vegas one time and we were playing in of course Vegas you ain’t got no windows no clocks so you’re sitting there we’re playing we’re matched up as

One guy we’re playing $500 sets back in the back room in the ballroom away from the league play and stuff and uh I get up 500 that guy come back and win I get up 500 a set and he come win the next set and he keep going to the bathroom

Ever so long e he go to the bathroom that’s usually my my biggest challenges was playing anybody those guys that was doing drugs because uh it was just it it was just a whole different animal because you play those guys they they just going get all supercharged up and all a sudden we’re

Coming back and and the guy we just got even and start to play together again the guy just come out the back bathroom look like he just he’s ready for another 500 yard Sprint you know and Joe is look at me he goes he man we’re done you know

And that’s what Joe would do he goes we’re done it’s finished you know and I know look at me I got the money and he looking at me and goes man yeah he look at me and he goes man you’re the room lay there for a while come back and that

Guy sitting down there just shaking want to play somebody you playing Mark even he wanted to give Mark weight I mean huge weight just to get him to play Yeah Joe R look at me and he goes man you’re pale you know you you know I you know I

Just I’m not oblivious to I’m just trying everything in and then next thing we realized we played all night into the morning and it was like 8:30 in the morning or something like that you know and I I don’t do anything you know as far as enhancing chemicals or anything like that

Granola yeah I I got that stuff I got it’s all legal it’s all legal but F he’s got his Tums s sessions they don’t take me those to make you feel your age the last the last big session I had was Tommy Toof we played here and that’s been like five

Five or six years ago something like that somewhere around there we played uh played one pocket I think he was giving me like 87 even or something like that we played for what we play for about two days yeah I can’t remember what I how much it was it was couple thousand or

Something like that and uh we played all night and then in the next day and at 32 hours and uh we were dead even and they were saying well man you know should we just call it or should we just make a race so we decided to have a race to

Seven and uh so we ended up in uh uh he was wanting to quit he goes well let’s come back tomorrow and I tell you five or six years ago I still wasn’t spring chicken you know and he and I said no I quit I’m not going to it’s going to take

Me 3 days recuperate you know so we kept playing we did race of seven I beat him like 74 and uh he is uh it was Battle and as soon as we got done it would took us 30 it was 38 hours so six more hours the 38 hours would W and

Uh um I just I remember when when we’re were walking out it’s like the hearing in my left ear went out I don’t know what happened your ear was tired yeah it was I was definitely used up I so definitely if City these two have Duo there’s a game going on Mark’s play

It joa vice versa so how is that always have it seems like 20 many years well my problem there was that uh I was one of the few that believed in it when I first come here he was a sucker didn’t know how to match up with nobody here we

Go and when we started hanging out together I said look here here how we’re going to be doing it if you want to win some money and you look at me like well I’ve been I said well pra my way for a while after about a year he said H

You’re not you don’t you know you know what you’re talking about I knew how to [ __ ] take off the scores cuz I learned all that [ __ ] and my education back home you know and I figur I figur people he could beat people he couldn’t be I put him up against people he didn’t

Think he win and he robs him you know and then uh one of the biggest guys reason I I really kind of liking him was I didn’t like James Walden and I didn’t know nothing about demick at that time I didn’t know he worked but I knew he you know he was a

Working still and James just looked at him like like uh I learned this back home at uh Mark was his [ __ ] uh meal ticket for a long time there and at you know right before Mark’s still playing and James is walking around the streets but the thing was that Mark always stayed

Straight and James was that way but then James started on that [ __ ] they started them pills and you know and beating on women and all sorts of stupid [ __ ] that he started and he went downhill like he is now and I don’t mean nothing bad about nobody but he’s

Earned where he’s at he really has it’s hard to feel sorry for him I mean I you can ask big this we’re at [ __ ] Mikey’s clocking in James’s been sitting there all night in that one stool Tony comes in all freshened up go to work and

She walks up how you doing James he slaps her right there in front of everybody I mean just cold blooded slapped her and boy feel bad for him though big was sitting there waiting on him he he took off running this way behind the counter to go this way and

Big started walking over there to the other side by the door and I asked him later I said how’d you know he going go to that door he goes all chicken [ __ ] go for the front door man you know and that’s where he went and he didn’t like it when he got to

That door because was [ __ ] big hurting and that was the last time we saw him at miky you know I remember I remember one inant we was playing this match we won A5 $1,500 it was 5,000 set there a South may we were playing and we got done with

A set the guy was really upset belligerent you know he just got so upset he was W to fight the bar you know and we walked outside and he was little slow play playing paying up and so we ended up uh getting the money finally and I was

Talking to Joe said man you know piss me off you know I want to do this or I want to do that Joe goes listen you got paid it’s history he goes you had to listen to a speech but you got paid when you get paid for them speech I

Don’t give a [ __ ] who they are you know you got we we didn’t get out they didn’t get out no ow no money that [ __ ] old Casey Fraser body FY smart and whole nine yards he was raised around me over there at Midwest City you know and I told him I said you

Know I’ll go wi with you anybody but Mark all right well about two years later when he got pretty good down at that Bard pal and [ __ ] Tulsa we’re fixing a lead he just got knocked out of the tournament and we’re fixing to get out of there in case he

Goes Mark you want to play some one pocket well make the long story short Mark be reach him out about four grand cash and uh what was his name uh Cliff Joiner was there oh Cliff Joiner yeah Jordan was there here’s the funny part about it well Casey pays

Off and then he remembers the I I I learned him how to get a jelly you know to make sure he wasn’t walking around busted walking yeah and he come flying out that [ __ ] door and catches Mark says hey man you know don’t let me don’t leave me here broke this and

That you know and all this [ __ ] and we give him back some money and stuff and uh almost all the way we almost got to the goddamn uh truck Cliff standing out there looking for a [ __ ] handout he says he told he told me later on well I seen you guys

Giving away money well might as well give me some [ __ ] hey guys let me have some money so I I can do this I can do that and maros No any man he just wanted something you because we he’s always give that Casey some money but he didn’t know that you know Casey Would raise around us casy uh was a pretty good little player but he was never no Champion he’s still a good player yeah he is guys ever anything

Besides money Youever you know fourwheeler Z oh Q you pick up Q’s every now and then most time I most time I I get qes or something they want they get upset or something I remember this one young kid over at uh South M and uh we were sitting there playing he was he was

A really good young kid and uh come up and and like he’d beat me over Aces like two years earlier and it take me two years to get my money back we played finally it was over matched up up over at uh South May we’re playing and and

You know if you’ve been around pool a lot and grown up when you’re a kid you you’ll go through these phases like you know you lose your first 10 bucks or use your first 50 bucks and it just totally destroys you I mean you know this is that’s your weekly allowance or it’s

Your payroll check or whatever and he just told us well this this young guy he was in there and he goes uh uh we were playing and he end up getting stuck and kept jacking it I mean it’s like only 15 you know and uh we were playing and uh

He ends up losing $1,500 he was all distraught takes and throws a stick in in trash no no I tell here you’re gonna you’re going to need this to win the money you can pay me back keep a stick you and then a sister or Mom comes in while he’s walking out

Oh she just goes off the air I mean she was just like and I’m just like hey you know back off you know she was she was just going up and down and just like thought she was protecting him or something yeah or something I she don’t realize I

Mean I think he won like 5,000 down in Texas the week before I mean he was a good good player and uh anyway she she come here and I was trying to get out the door she was there standing my you know like she wanted to challenge me or

Something like hey man get out of my way get out my face got to send the mom in to get the money back oh yeah they bring on a lot of we end up we end up getting paid later you know I didn’t take a stick

But it took a while so what was the uh what was the worst predicament y y’all been in together well I was sparten up never let get that far I knew one to go I remember when I was 19 I just running around the bars like in Dale City and stuff some

Little Oklahoma City you I sneaking into the clubs and bars and and I had this friend that I grew up with and uh high school with and stuff he was about a year year or two young younger me and uh we were he he ended up I know what

Happened to him he he ended up like turning a bad Leaf you know he took and started owing money all his friends and doing them wrong and and uh he’d play pool too we both grow up together playing pool there was a little cafe just about two blocks from the

House and we’d play every evening after school and and twice as much on the weekend that’s where I got pretty good just constantly playing and it’s good to have somebody that you spar with that keeps you even now have somebody you spar with keep your game up it keeps both of you

Trying but uh and that no matter what you’re doing if you’re lifting weights or whatever you got somebody a little bit more commitment and you get focused on doing it but anyway uh he come up and he’ ow me like 50 bucks I think it was

And I ran into this uh candle light club over on South Robinson and uh we were in there playing and he was in the bar too and uh it was like 50 bucks you know it was like anyway so we we’re we’re leaving and oh he’s leaving and I I met him at

The uh at his truck and he wasn’t driving so on the passenger side of the truck he up against the truck and uh I go man you better and his friend was coming around I go you better give me my money or before he opens that door

Well that turned out to be not the best idea because uh he pulls his knife out like like one of them buck knives or shade knives and uh it’s like look like it’s this big but anyway good size knife flips it open he turns around backs me

Up against I got one of them mirrors right there on the side of the truck so I can’t go to my left and he’s standing right FR me and he could stick me if he wanted to you know and I’m I’m thinking man so now I’m it’s like bringing a

Knife to a gunfight I got hands and he’s got knife you know so anyway he’s standing there and back me up and and uh you know we were arguing and uh so I had taken lunge at his hand with a knife and it it goes through my hand over here but

I grab it with both hands and I wrestle away from him and we scuffle around there for a while and like I said we were we were friends for a long time you know and so that kind of got through with that got KN and you know we we

Scuffled around there for a while and uh and luckily uh and then later on after it’s all over of course I never got no money I just I just bled a little bit and then but anyway it wasn’t nothing serious and uh he uh I heard later on he

Was started carrying a gun or something like that and uh I was like 19 years old I just called him up I said hey you know it’s just uh just forget that good you you know we’re done you know we’re done because actually if somebody’s got a

Knife and they’re that close to you actually the close if they want to they want to cut you they’re going to cut you so he probably really didn’t want to cut me you know I mean if if you think about it if you got a knife and use one to cut

Somebody you’re probably GNA cut them so uh after then I I learned to know better you see why he always had a CH bad chance of matching up you know match up right he’ll fight a [ __ ] with a knife barehanded that’s I just you lucky I can’t round you you be dead like

Say that’s that’s before I knew better I know better now they was asking me about a sod Q I was about I don’t know I just got married had a little girl and uh I went I drove uh this uh what you call him a dice mechanic to a dice game

And Jimmy Moore gave me some money to back him and we went and he won they shoot them di off off a they had a he had a board they put up against the wall and shoot the dice off the the board but he would kneel down right there in front

Of everybody and take all I was taking all the bets and paying them off or you know whatever and uh he bust the whole joint I mean he busted everybody’s joint one like two pool cues and all sorts of [ __ ] I me there was a person had any had

A [ __ ] dive in their pocket when they left I mean he was taking bets like 10 cents he wanted to make sure no body had a quarter in that [ __ ] that way they wouldn’t bother it and then uh we get all this [ __ ] and and uh we get we

Get uh on the way home we stop and we cut the money up and everything I got Jimmy’s part and everything there was two pool cues in there I I’m now remember I’m just a kid I don’t know nothing about pool cues all I thought it was a house CU and [ __ ] breakdown

That’s it well one of them was a [ __ ] uh MW Josh West the other one was s b with felini case he goes what do you want you want the money or do you want the stick well you know I just got married [ __ ] I gotta

Have you know I got a kid I got to take the money and I didn’t think nothing about it like I didn’t lose no sleep over losing sambot till I found out later on they were worth 25,000 I didn’t know nothing about that [ __ ] you know cuz I [ __ ] that we was all

In the the most expensive stick around there was like a what they a guy out of California what’s his name Tad Plain Jane Tad that was the most expensive stick around there and Jimmy had four of them that was for his uh partners and stuff he

Said what do you want than M I took D [ __ ] I didn’t know what the [ __ ] was going on you know and I remember that and uh I think I seen the same queue when uh Maser was playing somebody one time and later on I found out he lost

That pool Que to a guy named uh what was his name uh Larry Larry something is a Sho sellman out of newk New Jersey and uh he lost that queue to him sakani Larry sakani he was straight pool player and with that stick that [ __ ] won all straight pool

Tournaments after that he beat maserak he beat uh Mike seagull Pearl and all those guys he was a champ on Street pool for a long time gambling Ann but I was I remember I had a pretty good idea that was the same queue I knew it

Was the same case but I wasn’t really sure about the the queue you know it was an alligator case it’s a the leading case and G made it that’s my first uh you know uh deal with a pool cute I didn’t know what this were [ __ ] now you

Know what were yeah but I ain’t never going to see that sound boed no more yeah I got right here I have a special on Shan if yall want interested or not how many huh how many over 100 many probably about 20 you know but uh when people started

Realizing you know like people like Mike that sell q and stuff like that what they knocked you out a deal you know they’re they’re they’re selling cues for $200 when you were getting four or 500 for them you know that knocks the market out 300 you

Know so you know I just been a slow dry deal you know and I had the heart attack I had about 12 of them now I’m down about if I sell these I’ll be down to three and I’m just trying to sell all my stuff that that

Way uh if I do pass away my son and daughters got money to take care of me because they’re not taking care of people back like they used to be all rules have changed uh military don’t do it as much as they used to or give as much as they used to

You know and then just that’s the whole deal I mean when you get older you might have to pay them to [ __ ] die I don’t know you know so so on that note um when when when you are gone how how do you want to nice man I’ve never said no to nobody

I always fed all these people and I didn’t ask him I just paid for the meals you can ask a hand of and I put I’ll tell you a good story it was Chad Glow’s brother uh owed this place like $112 and every day Trisha was working

Here she’d bug that boy for that $12 so one day I was in here and I was listening and I said God damn so he went to the bathroom I just walked up give her $12 here I don’t hear no more of that [ __ ] no more you know what he says

When he comes back instead of thank you I didn’t ask you to pay my debt I’m stiff for the $12 for interfering in his [ __ ] deal and I was trying to be nice that’s why I want to be known if somebody was nice to people when they weren’t

Supposed to be nice to them you know some people just don’t appreciate other people well you he had a he had a bad life in this joint he got into some tussles with uh two or three people he shouldn’t have got into with you know I couldn’t help you with them

Guys those guys are pretty mean fellas well you’ve always been me looked out for me even uh lived in the same house with you for a while my younger days definitely be like you mark Qui to tell you what he question when when you’re when your time is done how do how

Do you want people to remember you oh let’s see one thing it’s going to be a long time for I’m Gone I got go threaten I got a year I I’m going to be 110 before go so a lot of you people’s going to be gone that’s why I look at it bu is right but does look like straight out of I don’t know just uh this was nice to people and

Uh didn’t never do anybody wrong you know just I’ll testify that I will say that you’re one of the most loyal people I ever seen in my life I ever seen I’ve been around a bunch of people in my life but you’re one person I if you tell me

It’s [ __ ] raining outside and it’s 100 degrees everybody here saying you’re lying I believe you you ain’t never lied to me you know yeah that me something just to remember you if I tell you it’s it’s 100% what I think you know but it is got 35 years
