Really you know gain your footing there uh the primary defenses of this place are the greens with you know their subtle undulations and their architecture and tears and everything that that can really befuddle guys so I’m going to try and go for guys with past success here stick with that my
Oneandone picks for this week so let’s give my top five picks uh for the 2024 Genesis invitation number five let’s go with Matthew Fitzpatrick you know the iron numbers don’t look very good on him overall that’s a little concerning well hisor ially at this tournament that has
Been a little deemphasized as far as how you actually gain Strokes on the field in this in this tournament usually it comes from uh mostly around the green play and obviously Fitzpatrick is great at that I think the irons plays a little better than what people realize though
He was really hitting it pretty good before the bad weather came in last week he was on the wrong side of the draw I think he’s pretty close and putting together some really good golf so uh I think Fitzpatrick would be a fine one
And done play for you if you want to go that route number four let’s go with Windham Clark my Nemesis as I’ve been talking about in the podcast has seem like every time I bet him he really screws me every time that I have a guy
Chasing a win uh and he’s kind of sing around there he tends to put me in the loser column with that but listen he just checks all the boxes for uh what you’re looking for Rivier this week obviously has past success there he’s a long hitter the iron play between 150
And 200 is really good uh he’s great around the green great poet putter checks a lot of boxes here I don’t think there’s any reason why we can’t see him win two times in the last uh two of his F you know last three events with
Another one coming in here I really like him a lot so wind Clark I think would be a fine one done pick number three how about Victor havland and this is a guy that everyone seems to be fading because he they have really bad short-term form
I get it like it looks really bad for him what’s wrong with Victor havin but things I I’ve been doing this for a long time and things change very quickly especially for really good players and premium players like havin and people are writing him off without knowing anything about what happened down in
Florida when he visited his coach he could be completely fine now and if he’s completely fine and he’s back to what he was in the late summer last year then couple that with his tremendous success at Riviera he could win this thing by three and I don’t think he’s gonna be a
Very popular play this week just looking at DFS ownership looking at the chatter about his form coming in I think people are kind of out on hin I think that might be a mistake I think that people are playing with fire and if you want to
Take that chance to go with a guy who’s awesome here who if he had found something when he visited his coach I think that would be a really good under the radar pick number two uh this is going to be a very chalky pick Justin
Thomas I bet him outright I bet I used him last week in one and done so I can’t use him but look he is crescendoing towards some sort of win at this point the ball striking has been so good going back to last fall uh outside the Ryder
Cup which uh my co-host loves to point out but really tremendous around the green he’s got enough length he’s a historically decent poet putter he’s been pretty good here sometimes the putter can go hit or miss though so that is a little bit concerning but he should
Have won this tournament back in 2019 it was really calm conditions for the first three days before the wind kicked up on Sunday and he lost a fourstroke g we’re not going to have that issue this time it is going to be very calm uh conditions at Riviera I don’t think it’s

Finally get that win but my number one pick and this kind of also is because of the weather and I I’ve been talking about him a lot this week um I really like Colin morawa I love how this weather forecast is shaping up for him anytime I see a weather forecast where
He’s coming to a golf course with he’s had success at and there’s absolutely no win no precipitation uh that’s I want to use colum morow in some capacity and while I didn’t bet him outright I choosing Justin Thomas I can pick him for this one you know a lot of people want to
Point to the fact that he hasn’t been he’s not long off the tea and you know big driving this is is an advantage of Rivier and I will concede that that’s very true but he still is one of the leaders and strokes g off the tea the
Last two years of Riviera and that notion where good driving and Powerful driving is an advantage of Riviera that hasn’t changed the last two years that has been the prevailing theme and he still is one of the best drivers in the field obviously one of the best iron
