What’s up everyone and welcome to the first episode of parked podcast presented by DGA my name is Mitch Phillips joining me and are my good friends Zack Harrison and Hayden Ricard we’ve all been playing disc golf for about 15 years I’ve known Hayden since we were in first grade Zach what we’re

Pushing 10 years um we have a long history in the game um together we have a history in media it’s been an amazing journey to get us to this point we want to say thank you so much to um DGA and we’re going to be going over so many

Things whether it’s events player interviews uh the news and all the things in between but this is parked podcast so the only way to start it off is Zach what’s the last hole that you parked last hole I parked I was about to look it up I can’t figure out the name

Of uh the number of the hole it was at Heritage Pines though my first time ever playing at Heritage Pines it’s a beautiful course in between Georgia m in between or between it is in between Georgia in the city of between um great course but there’s a there’s an iconic

Hole so it’s sad that I don’t know the number but it is 330 feet straight down a pine ridden Fairway just a a nice hallway through a nice leopard three flip up to Flat she slid up right to the pin beautiful beautiful and Hayden what is the last hole that you parked it’s

Been a while but um I’m recollecting on the last uh basically round that me and you had together and it was whole 16 at Oregon Park not a very tough one but I think we also threw our whole bag that time yeah that’s that’s the whole we

Always threw our whole bag but first shot uh I don’t remember the disc I threw probably a putter um and it was just right under the basket lovely last hole that I parked I actually aced uh hole 18 at Frog Rock did I got challenged by Joseph with another round

To get an ace or I kicked off the team so um I had to go get an ace I didn’t get it on the first try I’m going to be honest it took me 113 tries to Ace that ho no um yes I counted because I brought

A certain amount of discs and I just wanted to be able to say that um Joseph with another round he doesn’t Ace every time it doesn’t it takes him a long time and it took me a long time but um I did it with a Squall a first flight DGA

Squall um oh it was the first flight it was a red R one so I have two first flights but I’m in the process of switching my whole bag over um as I’m sponsored by DJ this year so um it’s G to be pretty interesting because I I

Don’t know if I’m GNA be parking many holes for a little bit we’re getting used to it um but I got full faith in you ni thank you thank you thank you we’ll make it happen um but who is parked podcast what are we doing here

Gonna kind of give you a rundown of what this show looks like um we’re three guys we’re from Georgia known each other for a long time and we started this podcast a while ago and we’re so excited to be bringing it back um life looks different

For us as we first started this but now Hayden’s got a kid on the way Zach and I both have uh some serious relationships living doing jobs doing all the things but we are passionate about the sport passionate about growing it and the reason why we’re sitting here talking

Here today is because we’d be doing this anyway we’d probably be jumping on a call we’d probably be sharing a beer hanging out exactly something um and so that leads us into our next segment which we’ll be doing every week called what do you say on and we’re going to go

Over some news like we’re sitting around the fire having a beer uh I’ll start us off I’m sipping on the poppet and bocket from contrast Artisan alses here in shamble Georgia it’s a German Bach dark logger and it would just be wrong to not be drinking it out of a

Mug that’s perfect it’s beautiful the color is robust a little bit of nuttiness to it it’s incredible um I actually work at contrast as well so free beer I mean come on why not free beer best beer the best beer I ever had was cold and free yep hey that’s a true

Thing that is very true Um Zack you have a history in the brewery industry your knowledge surpasses us all what are you sipping on tonight buddy yeah man I pulled out a special one this is a a beer believe it or not brewed in 2007 wow it’s called Thomas Hardy zil so

They originally brewed it Thomas Hardy is an English author and this is an English Beer uh they originally brewed it for his 40th anniversary and it was supposed to be like a one-time thing and then all of a sudden people started begging for it to come back um because

It is a it’s a barley wine that they age for a very long time so you’re sitting like a% beer here well it’s it’s 11.7 all right Zack will be here for three fours of the podcast but I’ll just be I’ll just be asleep for the last it just

Slowly start leaning but I mean you can see this this color is my gosh I mean it’s flat as a pancake there there was no head coming off of this guy um but it is absolutely delicious and for a beer that is now 16 years old think can drive

Sure but not after not after consum 11% not after consuming that goodness hey what are you sipping on buddy well I didn’t have any good beer to bring and I wanted to bring something actually pretty good so I am actually sipping on Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Urban

Whiskey okay so I’ve got we’ll let it we’ll let it slide classy how do you serve it up uh it’s on the Rocks okay literally how many how many rocks people will judge you for this there’s two in there stand I don’t go full three all

The time sometimes I do yeah but it’s it’s really good couldn’t find a beer that I really wanted to bring on here so I stuck it with bourbon whiskey it’s all right you just you just moved you got a baby on the way um we’ll we’ll make sure

Some news here as we’re sipping on our beers the biggest news we got is obviously this has been the season of silliness uh we’re all big Formula 1 fans here the three of us and the offseason is called the Silly Season and I would say this was a very silly season

Um we had players leaving we had players resigning we had players faking they were leaving and then resigning NE Clos um and we also had some huge movement across the board um the biggest one I would say eagle to MVP it’s got to be something that was so many rumors and

Then finally actually happened I thought it wasn’t going to happen I was not expecting it and then it did I’m honestly glad it happened because he’s with Simon again and I feel like that content is going to be back to how it was before the crush boys are back they

Were trying to come up with something else to name it but I the G Bros I I don’t know if I like that I don’t know if marketing would like that there’s a visual that comes with JY Bros that I don’t love I don’t know what it

Is but I just don’t like it I think the best thing about this move personally is that both Simon and Eagle are tacticians when it comes to like being able to create their own frisbees yeah knowing what they want in a and then MVP’s ability to probably make whatever they

Want for sure so as a consumer I think it’s going to be pretty awesome to see what discs they come up with yep because they have the whole world at their disposal and the sky’s the limit on that too I don’t think MVP cares no they’re they’re willing to do whatever ever

Whatever it’s going to be and I think there was the whole thing of like is Eagle going to be going for streamline so you’ll have like Eagle at streamline James at MVP Simon with Axion but I like that they’ve kept it as one conglomerate I don’t think there’s a reason to split

It um where MVP makes a lot of other people’s discs I’m excited to see what he’s gonna be doing he has what is it the prism Pro I don’t even know there’s so many names with it it’s a version of the Envy it’s new new envy that they’re

Running and he’s already killing um and we’ll talk a little bit about him as we uh get into the allstar event as well coming off of surgery so let’s move right along into another huge one um Ganon to dis mania this was one that people definitely again speculated

Speculated speculated um and I think Ganon may have had well there’s one I’ll mention here in a bit but he may have had the best video ever where he literally used what every single freaking sign off I mean every catchphrase phrase everything it was amazing it was amazing it was very Ganon

It was very I mean Alden going with him to dis Mania like very just on brand of them just completely Ming all the time yes um but Zack what are you thinking about getting into dis Mania what are your thoughts on that and what is that

GNA mean for him joining the sky team alongside uh Kyle I love it I honestly again I’ll repeat what I said about Eagle moving to MVP I think Ganon moving from who didn’t seem to do a lot with like player specific discs right you see KJ got his own line and that’s

Huge was able to make his own line Isaac starting his yeah but but it took a world champion for them to say okay let’s you know we’ll give it to you too so I feel like that dis Mania has able to work on a much larger platform

Because they’ve been doing it for quite some time um I Can Only Imagine this will improve ganon’s game yeah I wonder even reinvent it I’d say yeah and I wonder how quickly he shines to the top with his new bag I don’t think it takes

Him long it just depends on you know how well he’s you know practiced this off SE well he was able to shop at Eagle’s personal disc Mania store yeah so I think he had that’s true some pretty nice options to choose from I’m excited to see what he puts in

His bag I hope he does and in the bag yeah I me sure they’ve done like a little bit of that stuff here and there and I think Mania is a company where they are part of House of discs now and they’re going to be you know creating

More and more actual dis Mania made discs but I think we’re it’s still a company where people are going to find those money runs that are these specific pd2 these specific you know X Y and Z so we’ll see um how that plays out but moving on to Alden also joining him at

Discmania Georgia Boy we gota rep the rep the homie we’re super excited for him making amazing content incredible if you’re not following Alden Harris on YouTube I don’t you don’t like disl I don’t know what you’re doing incredible it’s amazing um stop watching or listening to this and go watch alden’s

Videos um they’re way more fun than we are um but um Nikos being an absolute troll um and literally saying he never he did he never said I’m leaving dis the post he got us thank you yeah it said Thank You disc Mania yeah well we we’ll give it to him but

He yeah he flexed a little bit of a muscle there I think where they probably knew that they they didn’t want to lose the the finish right he’s the the greatest player in Europe um for sure um with seay you not touring right now I think it’s pretty easy to say nanta is

The best player in Europe look at any videos from any tournaments over there it is incredible 100% and uh him also moving up onto the sky team um which is a big upgrade which means he’ll have a Creator Series in having his own line of discs

As well um which is really exciting to um happen so let’s move on to Discraft didn’t really have too many movements at Discraft they kind of just resigned but honestly I’m not sure who else they could get that they don’t already have um I think Discraft may have the

Strongest team from top to bottom on the elite team yeah um Chris Clemens joins the team just below the elite team I’m not exactly sure what that’s called um the tour team or whatever it’s called but I mean Chris arguably not even arguably I think he’s the best Lefty in

The world um right now and maybe the best forehand he he’s absurd with tactician with that um talk about learning discs I know he’s thrown very specific runs of Defenders for a long time so it’ll be interesting to see what he latches on to in the Discraft lineup

Um but yeah I think that’s a good move for him um first time he’s been with DD for a long time so I think it’s been almost a close to a decade yeah and being on Discraft he is allowed to throw some DJ molds and I have heard that he

Absolutely loves the Quake which is awesome um being a forehand approacher and everything perfect forand disc perfect perfect disc so he’ll be throwing that and absolutely smashing it um another one we have Emerson Keith to Inova um surprising that one was weird for me I really expected him to stay

With a Texas company with lonar for a long time and he even said in his post it was like I expected this to be a longer thing than it was um he heads to ineva um Hayden what’s your opinion on that with him going to Inova I know we

Had a history of Inova not having players on salary and then has kind of changed where it’s a lot of bonus structure yes their roster has slowly gotten smaller what does that mean for Emerson Keith going to ineva I think it means well so like not saying like where

He was last year was not anything good cuz he did place I don’t know the actual step but he was in the top 10 couple times yeah tournaments but I think going back to a plastic that he knows and he loves um MH I think it’s going to be an

Easy transition this year and I don’t doubt he’s going to be in the top 10 at least for half the tournaments this year right I think it’s gonna be great and I mean he won the OTB open last year you have I mean Inova getting a winning player on the pro tour and

He’s someone who popped onto the scene what was he he played like 70 something tournaments that year was it like 2019 or something 20 it was right when we started the podcast yeah yeah it was right around there play so many tournaments so many I mean he’s a

Grinder he’s got uh his family on the road with him too so I’m excited to see what he does um with uh with Inova um some other ones to be noting as well um that are kind of interesting we had Chandler fry leave Discraft to go to thought space Athletics and let’s talk

About thought space for a second um they’ve been picking up kind of the trio sponsorships I’d say the infinite the thought space and and another company alongside it whether it’s Clash whether it’s you know these open bages players um what are y’all’s thoughts on that and

Do we think that we’re going to be more people heading that direction um and are they all on the same contract with those three companies or what does that look like Zack what do you think hard to know if it’s every company has the same type of deal I imagine there are benefits

From each company themselves right more opportunity to make different discs that might sell a little bit more right certain people tend to go towards certain companies right um like Eric Oakley for example has his fingers in multiple different companies and he’s making his own discs and they’re actually all fantastic frisbees if you

Haven’t tried them yet um so it is interesting I think it’s smart because it gives the players a little bit more flexibility with how they’re actually going to be twisting how to make disc golf a full-time thing yeah right right if you can’t of income exactly if if you can’t

Get one company to be everything for you why not open up the door for multiple companies to be some of what you need right so that’s my take on it I think it offers more people the ability to stay on tour and still make a solid living

Yeah yeah and I think not not to to say that some of the players that in or that infinite has are maybe not top top players but you look at people that are on that team James Proctor probably being the highest on the the rankings in

That but you have guys like your Eric Oakley um in there and these other guys joining that with Chandler fry that are that kind of middle of the pack maybe top 25ish on average um but have a big brand behind them and are able to consistently sell discs um so I think

It’s a great move um it definitely makes you wonder where the sport is going to head in a long term um I remember when was it drew Gibson that was the first one that like went open B and everyone was like what the heck why are you doing

This and he’s now started the company with Finish Line and is you know moving even further in it yeah and and kind of on that path where you have someone like a kale avisa that’s got a property that has own thing that has starting to build

Things more than just I’m a player um so but let’s move into obviously the team that we’re big fans of here um DGA I think DGA I mean I’m on team DGA so I’m a little biased but um definitely signed the most players by far the most players

And the youngest players in a roster that has so much potential um what do you think the average is like mid 20s younger I mean the average the age of these top players are getting younger and younger I me you look at I mean a player like Ganon Burr I mean he’s not

Even 20 and he’s signing huge contracts um but let’s run through a couple of these and we’ll kind of give some anecdotes on each we’ll start off with with suvan Tipton he um is a newer player on the tour was with Discraft last year um really was he lead card or

Chase Card at usgc last year he was he got to lead card yeah I was gonna say he was lead card and he’s isn’t he South Carolina boy s then I’m not sure I’m not 100% where he’s from because one of our friends knows Alabama Alabama okay

Alabama somewhere in the South um but I’ve seen him play and watched him and I think he’s going to be someone who can possibly potentially catch a big contract like he did with DGA like in the coming years like with DGA or someone else I think he’s a he’s

A top kid that’s just his forehand is absurd nut he’s he’s definitely in the conversation for one of the the strongest forehands he had that ridiculous Ace on whole seven actually that in person um which was crazy to watch that happen um at usdgc so um

Moving right along Evan Scott he won a silver Series last year yep um and did he win it no it was the Silver series that he had won it was the zoo Town open Zoo Town um so another young player um huge potential I remember interviewing

Evan Scott when he was a young kid that was the first time we ever went to usdgc and he shot the hot round wasn’t it he was yeah he shot he shot the hot round and he was that was 2021 2021 so he was

A child yeah he was he was so young so young that was like he’s like the third person we ever interviewed which is hilarious um but yeah he’s been making waves and coming alongside him his believe they’re touring together really good buddy of his jakeem as well another

Person that’s popped off at usdgc pretty much if you’re gonna be on DGA you got to pop off at USC that’s that’s that’s the rule now they are both South Carolina that’s what yeah there you go Hayden congrats check your bingo card other way around um but going to be awesome to see

Them touring together on the same team um making content all year long I do hear that they are very very very maybe unsafely into Mario Kart um and so we may have to do some kind of battle some kind of something we’ll see what we can

Do with that um pull out the Nintendo switch we’ll make it happen um a player that I’m really excited about winning the DDO last year out of nowhere no one expected huge win Mr Parker Welk and he has already started the season off with two wins I mean out of nowhere brand new

Discs we were talking about it hey how long does it take to warm up your plastic and learn your disc not long I think he’s doing pretty well I think he’s doing pretty freaking well doing better than us oh I mean obviously um but he is absolutely killing it

And I think it’s it’s no surprise he’s going to continue on I think he won DDO and then there was some question marks of like was it a was it just a shot and a barrel did it happen randomly but I think he’s putting in the work and

Signing with DGA um moving forward and continuing progress and becoming a winner more consistently is something that I think we’re GNA see him do more and more this year yeah um another one that is it’s not a it’s not an if it’s a win Tristan Tanner is back on tour I’m

So stoked um being with DGA dude freaking smashes the disc he has some of the highest ceiling potential for sure if he can just kind of reain it in like he’s almost putting himself on the level of ab with like distances that he can reach from both sides right forehand and

Backhand so I I am super pumped to see him get a chance to swing again right and I mean he’s touring alongside as Raider hold and that Carew too so just absolutely smashing the disc um and being surrounded by people that are also pushing each other I think we’ve seen

That with Alden with uh Ganon and Isaac and those guys we’re seeing these groups of players that are becoming really good friends but are also pushing each other and are like catting for each other and doing that so the community of that and surrounding yourself with those people

Is something that Tristan is doing incredibly well already um young name very young coming onto the tour is Ellie midling absolutely smashing a frisbee probably throws further than most of the men on the DJ roster no she again she popped off won the distance competition

I believe at uscgc or was it at Worlds I forget which it may have been both I don’t remember um I think it is usdgc may have been one of the other um but absolutely incredible to see her sign a contract now be on the tour

Full-time um at such a young age talked about both she oh she won both there you go boom wow I mean yeah I mean there you go amazing to see what she’s gonna be able to do with a disc like a torrent in her hands freaking speed smashing it’s going to be

Incredible um and let’s move on to another name name here in the fpo division Macy V Diaz joining team DGA um super excited and we can talk to her right now um if we want to pull her in we can jump into an interview with Macy

If we can pull her in right now that’d be awesome what’s up Ma how are you hey good how are you can you see me well oh yeah we got we got you you got the Great Smoky Mountains representing yeah yeah heck yeah how are you doing it good doing good just uh

Growing a baby so yeah than that I know all about that my wife is pregnant oh congratulations yeah I think I heard April right yeah April that’s awesome when when are you due how’s everything going in in the baby world uh I’m doing good I she’s due June 20th and mine and

Jam’s wedd anniversary is June 19th so wow okay yeah right there yeah you got are so you’re gonna have to battle long term yeah anniversary birthday like birthday will come first oh okay okay most the time it will definitely until she’s 16 and she doesn’t care exactly

Yeah we got a little ways for that one oh yeah little ways um well that’s incredibly exciting what has it been like um I mean obviously signing a new contract there’s been a lot of things in the news with surrounding you surrounding pregnancy surrounding women in the sport wanting to start a family

What has these past couple months been like for you if you can kind of give us just a a breakthrough yeah it’s been um the first couple of the the months of the offseason have kind of been like a blur to me really um because I was my first

Trimester so I wasn’t feeling the best and also wasn’t like playing much disc golf um and I didn’t know you know like I was going to do sponsor wise or how many tournaments I was going to be able to play or stuff like that so it was kind of

Like um I just yeah I just didn’t really feel the best but you know since signing with DGA I’ve had so much hope for the year and I’ve been so excited to get back out and throw I’ve started throwing again and um my throw feels a little

Different I think because my balance is maybe you know a little different yeah but other than that U now I’m starting to feel really good about everything I’m really excited for all stars um yeah yeah everything’s going pretty good right now do you know sorry do you know

How many tournaments you plan to play is it going to be if like take it one step at a time or yeah um I have like an idea like I think I’m gonna play Jonesboro Music City but by then I’ll be seven months pregnant so who knows if I’m

Gonna be able to play them or not but I really want to yeah so um in Music City and Jonesboro like Jonesboro think’s eight hours from here and Music City is only three hours from here yeah so it’s not like it’s that far but then uh we

Plan to try to play worlds um after she’s here because it’ll be I think it’s like six it’s either six or eight weeks after she’s due so it just depends how my body you know heals right but um absolutely yeah yeah and then I’m G to

Try to qualify for throw pink if I don’t win these other tournaments but gotcha what has that been like I mean being having a having a a baby on the way being pregnant being a professional disc offer we in a space where this is your job this is you mean your livelihood in

Other jobs and other you know you’re on salary you’re on these things you have maternity leave I mean Hayden and I talk about all the time like how many weeks do you have and Hayden having paternity leave and like what does that look like and how has that been I mean you were

With DD now you’re moving on from them talk a little about that and what it’s been in that experience to be pregnant have this be your job and also figure out everything in between yeah so I’ve tried to think of it this way of like the way I’m the

Situation I’m I’m in is like I kind of had a job had salary coming in you know and then it’s like now I don’t you know just like all in one so it’s just kind of like you know it it’s really hard because now I’ve started working again

Because I didn’t know what I was going to be doing like how many terms I was gonna be able to play um I really wish like in future contracts or some type of there’ll be some type of maternity leave in your contract well let’s say like me and Jamie before we got pregnant

We could say like in the future we might want to have kids so could this be in a contract where if you know I do have we do start a family could I still get that salary or something where we can or like for a lot of like there’s a lot of young

Players coming to the sport and you know I think that’d be something really good and really big for them to do is have some type of maternity leave because it’s really hard for like you know this be your job and then you’re just like oh you know you you have to find something

Else right it’s a lot because I have like a little bit of a Time frame to be like now I need to find a job now I need to do this before my baby gets here so yeah it’s it’s a lot but um that’s why I

Was kind of in like that gray area of like not knowing what I was doing for the first trimester but you know since signing with DGA I’ve felt more com confident and comfortable with my situation so yeah I’ve been working a lot more but also trying to practice and trying to

You know play for the season and playing for our baby it’s it’s been a lot for me oh for sure where are you working and what what has that been like bouncing being back in like a normal job yeah well before I was on tour I started

Working in this restaurant like my mom my sister my nana we all worked there so I started working there again um because they’re really lenient with like my hours and if I need off for a tournament or anything they’ll let me off so they’re super nice yeah I like working

There and I think now that you’re you know outspoken about this and this happens I think you’re Paving the way for other women later on to have that included whether that means like now or hopefully you know in the next couple years it gets included yeah and there’s

So many women that are playing right now that have kids like yeah you know Jennifer Allen and Kristen and Paige like they are doing it now and that just gives me so much hope for my future because right this golf is such a long thing like if I take this many

Tournaments off this year then don’t play as many next year like and still like continue to practice and still grow like I can you know my career could take off it might not take off now but it can still take off you know in the future so

Like I’m really excited about it just putting a timer a timer on at the stop yeah then restart kind of thing yeah because I think for 2025 I’m probably going to play know more tournaments more ones that are closer but obviously like schedule it out where that we can still

Be home and still go out and stuff so yeah yeah and going into you know sponsorship and Hayden mentioned it like Paving the way for future uh women who want to start families and stuff like that um when you were negotiating with DD and you were kind of I mean you were

With them for the last couple years um when we originally met you was that throw pink was when I mean the first time I had really heard of you and we were there doing interviews and stuff and we able to follow your card and were incredibly impressed by the skill you

Had that was oh and Eric MCC was saying oh she’s going to be on full tour next year and Stephan was so exciting to see you kind of pop up on the scene and then you come into this year of 2023 and arguably the best season you’ve had so

Far you finished 10th place in the points you had five top 10 your average placement was right on that cusp as well what does it feel like to now be leaving Dynamic disc leaving a company that you were a part of for so long and did you

Think that you were going to be with them long term and now obviously things have shifted what has what has that been like yeah um you know I always say that things are changing so I didn’t know if I was going to be with them long term like anyways from the beginning just

Because you know disc golf is changing it’s always growing so and yeah I never really know but um I did think that I was going to be with them um for a long time just because I have I’ve grown such a strong relationship with like the team

Managers like I I really love them um but you know things just didn’t work out and I think part of the reason why it didn’t work out is we just we both didn’t have really good communication with each other um you know when they first sent me my

The first offer they sent I was I didn’t respond to them for a while because I was trying to figure out like what I was going to do with the tour how many tournaments I was going to play talk to my doctor see if I could play so it took

Me a while and then when I you know now since I was pregnant they kind of took a while because they were trying to figure out what’s best for them and what’s best for me so our communication wasn’t really great and then when we got that

Social media goes because I’m trying to make it more of a mother side and also a disl side yeah you’ve had a lot of content so far and you of whether it’s just like funny voiceovers funny stuff with your with being pregnant and things like how

Much fun has it been to kind of be on that side of things of like I don’t know if you’re a Tik Tok person or not but all the different like tickt things of like you’re on this type of talk or this kind of thing have you gotten you know

Ideas to do more you know pregnancy or oriented content in that way you’ve done some lives where people are you know filling out the registry and doing all that kind of stuff it’s been awesome to see so far yeah it’s a lot of fun I I am

On Tik Tok and there’s so many trends that you could do with pregnancy and I’m like a lot of them are like more like the third trimester so I’m kind of like waiting impatiently so I can do ready to batch the content yeah like I’m so excited and also with the registry stuff

I I love that I’m able to do like a live so I can thank everybody personally because it means so much to have that support and like yeah people are just so awesome giving me all these gifts and stuff for our baby and um I think it’s

Really cool that doing these videos I’m gonna be able to look back and be like oh my gosh like she was in my belly there and like yeah it’s the best part is recording it as it happens and then going back and looking at it like it’s it’s incredible I’m already imagining

It does it count towards her PDGA if she you win yeah does she start with wins like I would love to win with her in my belly I actually just played a pickleball tournament and as my first one and I won and she was in my belly

And I was like it’s her first win you know there you go yeah I saw that post so you were yeah 4.0 and above league so that’s that’s like what does the tier look like in the pickle ball world and I mean pickle Ball’s pretty big deal on

The pro golf there’s a lot of people who play I would say like it was a 4.0 and a 4.5 tournament they had we all signed up for 4.5 but there was only one team in 40 so they just like combined at us too but I would say it’s in like the 980s

Range for Disc Off wow and and then like 5 and above is like a thousand and then okay there’s six of was like yeah okay so with that being said I know there’s there’s some there’s some hot takes on who’s going to be you know solid pickleball players and we’ve seen some

Videos I know Zack mton likes to talk a lot of trash me teammates stuff can you beat Zack Melton and Calvin heinberg in pickle ball um we play with Zach a lot and it really just depends on who like we play singles he’ll beat me because I’m not a

Runner it’s a harder game singles is a harder game you you heard Zack Melton is a runner I would not have thought that I mean I’m not saying he’s a runner but I’m not a runner yeah um he would definitely beat me in singles um doubles it just it’s a

Tossup who’s who’s can win whoever partner is depends on who your partner is and just yeah would you like to throw out any challenges of pickle ball in while you’re here on this podcast um no take down I I can’t wait to go back and play like Madison and Calvin

When we first started playing they were like really good to me and Jamie and like we’re like oh my gosh they’re the best players ever and now that we’ve been home for a little bit I’m excited to go back and like play them they like all right let’s see like you know how

Really just pickle ball right well let’s talk about all stars um you’re when are you heading down there um what are your thoughts on the course on you know obviously Allstars being way closer to us here in the Southeast and is this your first time at an All-Star event

Yeah this is my first time okay so and then do you know anything about the course and everything I’m being I think it’s Olympus is where it’s atus new course that they’ve kind of redesigned do you know anything about it have you been you know trying to get in the know

When do you head down there um no I don’t know anything about the course but I’m heading down there on Wednesday like not not tomorrow but next Wednesday MH um and it takes I think n hours from here but since I’m pregnant I have to stop every two hours and walk for 15

Minutes so it’s gonna take a lot a lot longer for us to get there but I’m super excited uh I’m doing the accuracy and the skills okay and I with me learning all all the new DGA discs like I don’t know how well I’m going to be at it

Because I don’t know that it’s great you know yet but I’m just super excited to be out there and just throw the disc and just playing just play yeah what are some discs you’ve been leaning on already like obviously you’re practicing and people oh what is your field work

What is your putting routine you’re literally like hey I have to compete in a skills event so it’s kind of like fast trct it a little bit of instead of being like I just go in a field and I throw these you’re like no no I have to throw

This in a certain way on this angle on this thing what have you been leaning on and how what what has been that process so far um I really like the hypercane for forehand it’s been like my go-to one that I can get to like Flex okay also the Avalanche

Really really stable you throw the regular Avalanche have you thrown the ice ones no I haven’t thrown ice one I think this is I think this is like a regular one yeah regular ones are beefy they’re it’s so stable yeah yeah the ice ones are amazing there another round did a

Run of them and they’re the ice plastic and they’re much straighter much work much more workable that’s probably my favorite uh in the lineup they’re very similar to like a felon in that same c yeah they’re really I need I need something like that too like an in

Between because right now I have like just that one that’s really overstable um and then ason actually sent me some Rogues which I really like hey Georgia Boys yeah heck yeah yeah they’re super nice I I love those Rogues are awesome yeah yeah and the rift I

Kind of the culture of talking to Pros with long-term versus short-term contracts um I personally I think that the one years for me right now are good just because you know I am still growing as a person and I don’t know what like my future is going to

Hold you know in a year two years three years especially now that we’re having a baby so I like one years um but I do think that if you can get a multiple year and you know that you’re going to stay playing this golf that I think

That’s the smartest way to go because you know you’re you’re set for the next couple years and you you can really like trust yourself and and perform as well as you think you can because there’s so much pressure in disc golf right now where like if you don’t perform for a

Year who knows what the next year’s going to look like for you because you’re not performing as well or or you’re not selling as much plastic or you’re not you know so but if you’re in that multiple year then it’s okay like I can relax for a second it’s okay if I

Don’t play as well this tournament because I have or this year because next year I can you know do better so that’s the benefits of having multiple year but I also like having the one year because I don’t know what’s going to happen for my future yeah after the kid comes it’s

A lot of work in and I’ve always had a feeling that she’s going to be great uh we were on the same team before and she when we first met I could tell that she’s GNA be great and I think it’s Holland and I think Holland is like

Going to be one of the best players um also cat merch is g to do great things um there’s just and it’s so hard to tell because I feel like like last year I know Kristen was winning so many tournaments she’s amazing player there’s so many women too who are like on the

Come up who are like popping in the splash of top five or top three and you know making a run for it and I think that there’s like so many new new girls and women coming in like elzra she is gonna do great yeah and even if

Like I think that even if she’s not winning or whatever she’s gonna make so much of an impression on on the of the field like I mean when I first joined I heard you all talking about her and I played with her at world for the first

Time last year and it was at it was at Fox R which I was so happy about yeah cuz she was bombing everything and I was like oh my gosh it’s crazy how young she is and how she can throw that far her form is insane and her putting it’s not

Just like you know sometimes these you know they come in and they have like one thing where they’re like really good at but she also has such a smooth Putt and she’s she’s she’s gonna be doing great things as soon as she gets more comfortable and gets more consistent

She’s going to be a really good player too for the future yeah I got to see her Eagle whole 18 at uh at usgc in person and it was nuts like it was absolutely wild um to see I mean in winning the distance competition at usgc and at

Worlds like and she’s 16 right 16 I think yeah insane absolutely it’s crazy I mean and her like her form too it’s like she has so much she uses so much core and like it’s all one like all one motion and it’s it’s so good I’m like can you teach me to

Higher level of sports you know you know basketball football everything and those top sponsorships and that’s what it takes is these big wigs fronting some money and sponsoring this and it gets into you know x amount of viewers because of that name right for sure um

Well Zach tell us a little bit about the the the course that this is going to be on we had the the MC Beth the Dylan uh you know CE all this kind of stuff give us some history on this course and being in is it Brooksville is that right Brook

Brooksville or Brook Brooksville Brooksville Brooksville it’s between Georgia between yeah I think it’s Brooksville Brooksville Florida so it was a property that was only open for disc gol four weeks of the year for throw down the mountain and it’s something it’s actually a tournament that I always

Wanted to play but never really had a chance to do it and and once I heard that the property was now up for sale a lot of people in the disc golf world were a little nervous that it was never going to be playable ever again yeah so

In swoops our man six-time Champion Paul McBeth and White Sox well currently White Soxs major league pitcher Dylan CE yeah 1.2 million dollars they just pulled it out their pockets and said yeah let’s let’s save this thing yeah so now which it’s owned by their was it LLC they have by L LLC

Yeah yeah so they did have to battle a little bit of a lawsuit a man was trying to sue them because he got hit with a frisbee um anyway it was thrown out but he the way it was thrown out he could come back and try to sue them

Again who knows if it’s going to work but they push past it now they have permanent teads permanent basket placements they’ve extended the pars so the the actual distance of the course is a lot longer now longer but but it is absolutely insane you would never know you’re in Florida walking onto this

Course oh you would think you’re in the mountains up here it it honestly reminds me of how Northwoods black yeah is okay is you’re driving through corn fields and flat land and it’s kind of dry and Dusty and not very pretty and then all of a sudden you pull into the parking

Lot of Northwoods and you are up and down Rolling Hill type vibe in the woods with water and rocks and huge elevation and it’s like where the heck did this just come from it looks nothing like your standard landscape so it is a dream looking at the map right now it’s west

Of Orlando um kind of towards like in I mean it’s yeah you wouldn’t expect it to be it’s just north of Tampa like you would not expect a course with hills to be there like at all large trees all over large oak trees right it I mean

It’s it is beautiful yeah so it’s great that it’s on tour it’s also going to give them a a good name because they need to start recouping their $1.2 million investment plus more for building the course right right so it is going to be a pay to play they’re going

To offer subscriptions I imagine a lot of locals are going to buy like a yearly pass to go or whatever just like you do with a golf club did they announce on that video how much the subscriptions were I can find out I couldn’t find anything I couldn’t either um I was

Waiting for it when he went that when he went live and kind of disc discuss that there was going to be that kind of thing of like okay how much is it going to be per year kind of thing they’ve got to support the property so well yeah and

Which is perfectly fine I mean honestly if I Liv down there I probably would pay it so you can do a lifetime membership for $2500 is a lifetime membership free rounds buddy passes store discount so they’ll have all that kind of stuff on there um later in 2024 we will release

Our annual membership option which will allow General course access um for the remainder of the Year outside the events so lifetime membership is only available for 500 individuals but if you live in the area I mean $2500 for a life membership at a next level course that’s

Hosting an All-Star event yeah with a buddy pass and exclusive discounts because they are they do have a Pro Shop open yeah right so if I don’t know what other shops are around there but if you live nearby and you plan to buy more frisbees invest in it

Right so I think they’re doing it well and no one sells discs better than Paul mcbath so no literally no one literally no one um well let’s talk about the format um Macy mentioned it a bit a good amount too with the skills Challenge and

I’m going to read kind of off this the disc golf pro tour website because we were talking about this the three of us um and just kind of like what’s the format how does it work is there a round is there we were a little confused yeah

Which I think is awesome because with the All-Star event Allstars to me has always been NBA Allstar that was something I always watched growing up you had the three-point challenge you had you know the the East versus West game you have this kind of break in the

Season I love that we’re doing it I think it’s an amazing thing for our sport do I think it it feels weird being in the beginning of the Season maybe like it it almost makes sense to kind of put it a little bit in there give us

Kind of a break so it’s players that are not at the top get kind of a break in the season that’s something we don’t have in our in our sport right now is a the board break doesn’t really exist um but reading here so we’ll have the skills challenged

We’ll have the certain amount of players we can go through you know the list of some of those here um but you’re going to have fixture the Allstar Weekend with the skills challenge new capacity instead of counting the skills challenge results toward Total Team points so you have total teams you’ll have Team

Captains you’ll have putting distance accuracy contest as well um and so it’s a lot of different events it will be on dgn as far as I know um they also if you want to get tickets and everything they have um everything on the Eventbrite page as well tis are actually really

Reasonable okay yeah I mean I just looked at it it’s it’s six hours and 40 minutes from us so there’s no reason we we shouldn’t be going but um well what I thought was interesting is that in last year all of those skill challenges were worth points for your team right this year

They’re not adding those points into the team total the team is actually just going to be the doubles and the singles round from what I can understand okay the other events are now prize-based per individual so if you come in and you win that you’re just winning prizes or money

Or whatever it is and they also invited people who aren’t on that All-Star list they said a select few get to compete in that skills challenge so I do think that’s kind of cool where if you didn’t make the cut or maybe like you’re the alternate you can still go and maybe win

Some cash yeah okay so they put out like amount of like the captains so we got N Field Calvin heimberg and Isaac Robinson are the captains field Missy Ganon and owns gogin I mean obviously I would assume so perfect yeah uh Kristen tar is not going um to be at the allstars um

Which feels weird having the honestly the best player in our logistically it’s just probably not and it’s yeah you know she it’s not a big major tournament so why why leave your country and your and your Porsche yeah and your por you I have thought about this though

Is Porsche gonna give her a car to drive around in America she’s not going to drive it in America okay she’ll drive it in Europe probably yeah that she’s gonna have a tour vehicle yeah the deal is only for Estonia it’s a they’re launching a Porsche van and she’s

Gonna that’d be sick anyway sorry back on topic um but serious serious names if you’re in the area if you’re going there this would be an amazing event to go to and you get to see these players uh like Macy be to compete in a way that’s not normal it’s not just a

Specific round there is a skills challenge there is the putting it’s a really fun event I enjoyed watching it last year um I definitely wish there was more understanding of how it’s all going to be working um and making it happen some things that are definitely happening interesting is you do have

People with discs that they don’t know that they’re learning um big thing here is Eagle McMahon playing left-handed doing did you see that what’s the plan here yeah well he’s mentioned it on one of the one of his videos or maybe it was in a podcast with uh with Brody and Julie

And he was saying that he’s like why would I give up my spot yeah I’m just gonna play left-handed and he he said he he thinks he could rate like n 980 left-handed he he freaking threw left-handed European open like as I think as long as you could putt right-handed because I think

Putting is the hardest part to do I think he said he’s clear to full throw March late March early April but he said I believe he did say he’ll be throwing left-handed putting right-handed okay is what he’s been clear I mean I’m curious to see if he can win like skins if

That’s the way they’re doing the whole match play type thing um curious to see it I I also thought though what if he just bowed out would it give the alternate the ability to come in and play like does it take the ability from someone else I don’t know uh if I’m the
