How do you assess your first year as a c um yeah not too bad I think um uh you know start of the year I wouldn’t I wouldn’t have thought I’d started the year off as well as I would have liked but um I think I sort of progressed in

The right direction towards the back end of the year and um hopefully can yeah spring board into this year how do you find the extra mid exposure that you got pretty much to account of the injuries that c last year yeah I think that really helped me um you know towards the

The middle half of the year I think I was able to take a little bit of the load off pattern and Guth um especially when when he was a bit injured so um yeah it’s only going to help me for to leing into this year um but we’ve got

Some you know we’ve got some really strong depth in the Midfield this year and we’re looking forward to uh to getting stuck into it how importance came GA to that Midfield mix you you barely spend any time with him it’s going to be a different Dynamic you’d

Suspect with him back in it and and you playing obviously you in the second season yeah I mean obviously it showed um you know last year how important he is to our side and when when he’s not in there um you know I guess there there

Are other players that stand up but he he’s quite hard to replace Guth so um he’s at an amazing preseason he’s fit he’s firing um he’ll be ready to go this year for sure on a personal level you come in obviously you know stranger to Jong but you have to come back and

Adjust to a new club is it easier going into the second year that you got that first preseason first season out of the way has it been a smoother run I suspect describe I reckon yeah I was obviously um you know it was it was nice to settle

In this year and um and come back home and and find my feet a bit it probably took longer than I anticipated but um I’m feeling really confident um with the boys and the playing group so the coaches of um are supporting us all um and yeah I’m really really confident for

This year and where we where we can get to on a personal level what have you worked on over preseason is something you identified that you know you needed to probably maybe add to your repertoire to you know continue your Evolution as a midfielder yeah I think um you know

Obviously my fitness first and foremost um but just jelling with with my myid midfielders and the Ruckman I’ve been working with Toby Conway quite a bit um he’s had an amazing preseason he’s he’s looking ready to go so been doing a lot of work with him um but I think um you

Know on a personal not but I think as a team we’re all we’re all ready to go and um we’ve been jelling quite well this preseason so we’ll be uh ready for next Thursday against Caron just on Conway who do you think will be the number one

Rock um for the majority of the Season it seems like it’ll be bit of a hit out uh between steam Le homeway the practice game oh I think um oh it’s obviously hard to tell but I think both re and Toby compliment um each other quite well

Um you know they’re going to work well together this year and they’re going to need each other throughout the year um so um you know it’s obviously hard to give you an answer on on who’s going to play and what not but um I think they’re

Going to work very well together what do you see your role being in 2024 do you think it will be that full time you and saw towards the end of last season I hope so yeah I think um you know hope hopefully I can progress here like I

Said in the right direction and and add more to the Midfield I think we didn’t quite achieve what we wanted to as a Midfield group last year and um we’re only looking to get better so um if that means yeah I can step up and and um you

Know pick up the workload definitely tener just a uh local B from South James Raley um coaching staff what’s his influence like on the group yeah rals has been awesome so far he’s um he’s come in he’s very open-minded and he’s um he’s very knowledgeable with the game

So we’re very lucky to to have him from Adel aen um you know he’s had a great influence on the group um since he arrived at the club so um I’ve been working with him quite a little bit with the forward stuff as well so um the boys

Are really enjoying his time and he’s going to be a great addition for us this year perform side the last year was that tough watching on seeing that when especially when you guys didn’t make yourself uh a little bit yeah I guess it was obviously you

Know I’ve got some great mates up there so it was I was pleasing to see those boys do well after the the um you know the couple years that they had um but you know they’re a great side and they’ve got some really good players I think everyone sort of knew the footy

That they can play it was just a matter of time before they could to put it together but um I was really happy for him like I said I’ve got some great mates there and I’m sure they’re going to give it another crack this year just on your your move obviously

Was there any the fact that you got some more opportunity than you did at the Giants that sort of indicate back home to to the um I mean there was a few factors like one one being that but I mean I had I had plenty of opportunity

At the Giants it wasn’t necessarily just about that um you know nice to come home to family and friends and obviously where I grew up I grew up baking for Jong as well so um you know that was a big factor in play football in Victoria

For such a big Club but um you know the Giants are great for me and I’ll be forever in Deb to them but um you know I’m really enjoying being back home now PL of of young guys came to the cats during the offseason who’s impress you

And who do you think will challenge the spots in round one in the practice gam yeah I mean it’s it’s quite obvious one Connor o salivan he’s been been training super well um since day one he’s come in and um you know he’s he goes about the

Right way Connor and um he’s going to be masses for us um for a long long time to come um George Stevens is training really really well local boy from orable down here so he’s been uh been going really well in the Midfield and Jo Clark’s um going really well as well

He’s uh obviously back from his injury last year with his foot so he’s progressing well he’s training really well so we look forward to hopefully those boys um you know for a long time to come you play a little bit Falcons with play some games get you miss it I just

Missed Ollie like I was down there at the Falcons with him um but we obviously was Co um in in 2020 so just missed him um but he’s I mean he’s super special we’ve really seen him in the first few months he’s been at the club um you know

What he’s capable of so um it’s I’m just rra that he’s you know now in the program and he’s he’ll be hopefully in the program for another couple years um but you know he’s he can yeah Sky Lim fory yeah I was going to say um unable

That you know you got I suppose Co didn’t help it overlooked and go back and Play Baller footy and find yourself on an AFL list but as you said he’s a special talent what do you like about it yeah it’s it is it’s quite remarkable

Alli story um oh he’s just he’s just got so much X Factor um he he runs really well he moves well he’s got a good side step and he can mark the footy and um you know most importantly a scoreboard he kicks goals so he’s um you know he’s

Quite Lively out forward and um yeah I can’t wait to see him Blossom got an impressive match him out last week did does that F you with a bit of confidence that you can you know take another step in 2024 yeah definitely I think so yeah

It’s always it’s always nice and like I said it’s only going to help me this year progress into the year um I’ve always known that my foot is you know up there with and I can compete with with the best so um I’m just looking forward

To to working with all the boys the Midfield group forwards and the backs and and seeing what we can achieve this year
