Interact with all the things that we produce here at fight disciples by entering the comment section you might agree you might disagree doesn’t really matter this is a place for conversation about all things MMA and boxing and we want you to get involved right let’s get on with today’s video this weekend
Anaheim California is the destination for UFC 298 and the main event is the featherweight championship fight between Alexander volkanovski and ilot aoria I’m sure we have all seen that hilarious skit video that Alexander volkanovski has participated in poking fun at the curse of the 35y old man what is the
Curse of the 3 5 year old man I hear you ask well let me explain in the history of the UFC no man who has turned 35 years of age has ever won or defended a UFC title from lightweight down to flyweight that’s right 125 135 145
155 has never seen a person aged 35 years of age either win or defend a championship belt the numbers are absolutely mindblowing on 14 occasions we have seen a fighter age 35 stepping into that octagon for a championship fight between 125 and 155 they have fallen short on every
Single occasion that’s right men aged 35 or over going into championship fights between 125 and 155 are zero and 14 in championship fights it’s happened three times at fly four times at Bantam four times at feather and three times at light and on every single occasion the
Person aged 35 or over has lost if we take a little side step from this current stat and go up to welterweight 170 there’s been nine World title fights in the history of the UFC where a fighter age 35 or older has competed out of those nine title fights only on two
Occasions have we seen a 35-year-old male fighter become successful on both occasions it was Tyron Woodley and on one of those occasions he was fighting a 39y old fighter in the shape of Demian Meer the only other time that we’ve seen a fighter aged 35 or older beat somebody
Younger than them in a world title fight in the UFC from 170 right down to 125 is when Tyron Woodley beat Darren till so with that being said are there any stats that could back a potential win for Alexander volkanovski against Ilia toora this weekend at UFC 298 ABS godamn
Lutely firstly you have the betting lines on all 14 occasions where a 35y old male fighter entered a title fight between 125 and 155 in the UFC never once was that 35y old Fighter the betting favorite going into the fight even when they were the champion walking to
The Octagon davidon figero in the fourth fight against Brandon Moreno for example as it stands right now Alexander volkanovski is a slight betting favorite with the UK bookies you can get him four to five on to win this fight at the weekend where ilot Aur is coming in at
Evens see I told you it was close it might even change as the money starts to exchange getting closer to fight night but as it stands in the middle of fight week because I’m making this video Alexander volkanovski books the trend of the previous 14 occasions he is the slight betting
Favorite coming into this championship bout I know what you’re thinking you want another stat I’ve got one for you there have been 21 UFC featherweight World title fights and the record is currently in favor of the younger fighter 15- six that’s right on 15 occasions out of the 20 W the younger
Fighter has beaten the older adversary to become the UFC featherweight world champion but here’s the interesting stat out of the six times that the older fighter has beaten the younger fighter in a UFC further weight will title fight five of those times the fighter was Alexander volkanovski now even though I blurt on
About this start all the time and the trend hasn’t been booked between 125 and 155 as a pointed out earlier it’s 0o and4 in title fights for guys age 35 or over I personally don’t put too much credit on it going into this fight with Alexander volkanovski I think the bigger
Concerns for volkanovski that he’s coming off the back of a knockout loss to Islan makev and that we’ve got quite a quick turnaround from that knockout loss to what we’re facing this weekend at UFC 298 let’s not forget 3 months before turned 35 years of age at 145 he put
Manners on yaaya Rodriguez who was considerably younger than him it was a stellar performance are we really saying in that short period of time from that performance to where we’re at right now this man’s skill level and talent level has dropped off so much he has come out
And he has given reasons as to why the performance against Islan makev was the way that it was we find out out what’s what this weekend does the curse of the 35y old man in championship fights between 125 and 155 continue or does Alexander really show
That he is the greatest can he book the trend that’s for you to decide one thing that I can say about this fight is that you must not miss it because it’s going to be fireworks fight disciples the

Another great vid cheers
Don't you put that voodoo on Volk! lol
How do lads.
This is a weird one. Seems a really hard match up on paper but then could see max dominating Topuria. Mma math huh
Let's be honest Volk has been classed as an underdog most of his career, IMO Volk isn't that far away from the guy who was a whisker away from taking the lightweight title, Volk is in an ideal situation, In that he has now something to motivate him, a motivated Volk is he'll of a mountain to climb for anyone.
