I see some push back in the chat from the likes of Chuck Brewer and shod but here’s what I will ask you they had a 17-point lead in the NFC championship game for that first half they looked better than any NFL team had looked at any point in the season they looked like

An absolute Juggernaut and when you look back at say the Buffalo Bills when they made that first AFC Championship game in the after the 2020 season and lost to the Chiefs ever since then it has been win the Super bowl or bust if you look at the Cincinnati Bengals for example

They made that Super Bowl which went further than the Lions did this year but they made that Super Bowl against the Rams and they lost that one every single season since then has been super bowl or bust and you look at of course the San Francisco 49ers they lost a 19 every

Season since then except for an injury late riddled one in 2020 has been super bowl or bust I think and for the record this lion season with the expectations that they had this year was a rousing success they had to prove that they could win a division they had to prove

That they could win a home playoff game hell they ended up winning two but once you take that next step once you see how well they’re built for success and how great some of the players I mean pen Su I’m am amanra St Brown for example are

Least very least get back to the Super Bowl the players are saying it I believe them the coaches are locked in I believe them they even started on kind of Shor up some of the things that we talked about last year obviously they’re not at

The draft yet they can’t get in the free agency yet but they were able to go lock down those coordinators for another season they were able to go and bring in Tennessee Titans defensive line coach and Run game coordin coordinator Terrell Williams and he comes from a great staff

It’s not just what he does but everything he’s going to bring from that kind of Coach vable coaching tree right into the Detroit Lions organization and locker room and we talked about yo they got to get home they got to get home the defensive line has to get home they are

Already showing that they’re serious about making sure that any deficiency they had that they’re filling it and I do believe that this takes them up just a notch just a notch I know people talking about the NFC North is getting tougher and all that I don’t really care

I don’t really care you know what be battle tested I thought the second half of last season NFC North was already showing and proving to be pretty tough and they had an opportunity to get three teams into the playoffs yeah and it’s going to be tougher moving forward but

My overlying point is that no they’re not going to win the Super Bowl the next 5 years they’re not going to have the greatest Dynasty in NFL history or anything like that or at least we think they won’t I think that a pretty safe bet but I just want Lions fans and their

I hate to keep bringing up these teams with the Kansas City Chiefs and I know that they might win their third and they might get complacent but the reality is do they care about that home playoff win that they got for example against the Miami Dolphins this year do the 49ers

Care about that home playoff game win that they got against the Packers do the Buffalo Bills care about that home playoff win that they got against the Pittsburgh Steelers for example hell do the Dallas Cowboys even care about that uh road playoff win they got at Tampa

Bay last year and these are the Cowboys these are the team that we laugh at and rightfully so they choked again but at least they have the expectations that we got to win the Super Bowl and the lions are better than the Cowboys right now they’re better set up for the future I

Little bit of the of a haze over the football national championship I will give you that I will give you that in a lot of ways I’m not personally as upset as maybe I should be but when you really think about it Michigan basketball should be held to a certain a certain

Standard and they certainly are not living up to that and they haven’t lived up to it all year because it’s not just this game did you guys know that Michigan has lost eight out of their last nine and have had a halftime lead in six of those games count them six and

They lost every single one of them including a 12-point halftime lead at Maryland a 10-point halftime lead at Penn State and the AFF forementioned nine-point halftime lead versus Ruckers you should win every single one of those games and if Michigan wins every single one of those games we might be talking

About a different season and oh by the way that does not include the loss at home to Long Beach oh again Long Beach State in which they had a halftime lead in that game and oh by the way they lost at home to an Indiana team that has a

Losing Conference record with you guessed it a halftime lead and they also lost to both Oregon and Florida in overtime you know what that tells me it tells me that Michigan actually has some pieces that are nice like Doug McDaniel for example and Olivier kamoa like good players but their late game execution

Their rotations the uh inability to to play basketball in the half court at all that’s coaching inability to close games that is 100% coaching and that is one of the reasons I believe Jan Howard should be launched out of a Canon today it should have happened before the end of

The season because oh by the way this is not a new thing they did similar things last year the 202022 2023 season let me give you some scenarios Michigan had a 11-point halftime lead versus Virginia they played a central Michigan team that went

10 and 21 and 5 and 13 in the Mac fire up thank you Terry they had a seven-point lead with 218 left in the game at Iowa they had a seven-point lead in overtime with a minute 49 left at at Illinois and a 12o second half lead at

Indiana do you know what the Michigan’s record in those games are tell me about it 0 and five with those scenarios they were 0 and five and oh by the way one of the worst losses at all of them all is that they were held scoreless for the

Final 5 minutes and 19 seconds of the Indiana game last year and lose that game by one what that tells me is if they could score two goddamn points in 5 minutes and 19 seconds of the game that they win if either of those games last

Year if either of them if any of them maybe one or two Go a different way we may be talking about Michigan as an NCAA tournament team and you know why it was so bad why it was so agre just eight Big 10 teams made the NCA tournament last

Way Michigan has more final fours over their over their existence than Syracuse Yukon Villanova Georgetown and Arizona and throughout the entire history of their school have 30 first round draft picks into the NBA and now with the standards of it being that good of a basketball program

That’s part part of it but you know how I know that Jan Howard is the biggest culprit I get it this year if you want to say that this Michigan basketball team isn’t talented which they’re not as untalented as you think but they don’t have any NBA players they just don’t

In terms of what the effect he can make on this team cuz being out there just being even a decoy the threat of J and his speed makes that offense roll so much faster but as they moved later into the season Jameson Williams was a really big part of that offense they started

Looking at him uh in big third down situations they started running a couple reverses where he gets the touchdown Jameson Williams to me is going to be a huge part of the future of this team he’s got to be that number two for the Lions to take that next step and get to

The Super Bowl next year he needs to be a clear number two to Alan R st brown but for the season I’m giving him a b damn a solid B yeah I was thinking of d a d for Jameson Williams that’s a little low you want to go goad I won’t give him

A d because a lot of is not his fault I think a lot of is his coach’s fault yeah he did a reversed and you don’t hear from him for three quarters um there was the trust issues they couldn’t trust him uh he wasn’t professional for a part but

Then he started to come along and you can see the uh you can see the remnants of of guy who’s going to be a very good player but he didn’t contribute that much to this team this year and I and I think a lot of it the coaches either didn’t have faith in

Him or they didn’t know how to use him so that’s why I’m not going to give him a d because it’s not all his fault but I’m gonna give him a c all right Terry you’re you’re on to something and first of all let me just say this with all due

Respect Matt broer I think you’re out of your mind for giving a a bee and many things many things can be true and you mentioned it even in your Soliloquy I think that next year there is a very good chance that Jameson Williams is going to be wide receiver too I would

Like to see it in fact I think it would be a massive disappointment if he is not and I’ve given it and I’ve given you this he made a lot of big plays during this season you look at the Tampa Bay touchdown the touchdown in the first

Game against the Bears to cut the lead to five you look at that 60-yard bomb against the Cowboys you look at the uh the uh end in the uh 49ers playoff game the NFC champion game that was the first touchdown of the game but here’s the reality when it comes to Jameson

Williams he’s not definitively a bust but his numbers would tell you that he is a bust at least as of right now or he has bust like numbers because this season Jameson Williams gets a lot of love for somebody who had 354 receiving yards somebody who has still not had a a

Game in which he has uh 70 or more receiving yards and oh by the way and this isn’t me trying to be mean I just have to give you some context out of all of the receivers drafted in the 2022 class Jameson Williams had the 11th most

Receiving yards out of all of them he had fewer than Juan Dale Robinson he had fewer than Alec Pierce he had fewer than fourth round receivers Romeo dobs and khil Shakir so all those things can be true did J Mo make plays yes was he consistently somebody who contributed

Greatly to this team I would say no and oh by the way and I think this is really damning a lot of people want to put their blinders on but I have to put these numbers out just so you know them just so you can digest

Them and you wouldn’t be flannel if you didn’t no I would not there were 21 rookies with more receiving yards this season than Jameson Williams 21 rookies including fifth rounder from the Packers Davian Wicks third rounder from the Cardinals Michael Wilson sixth rounder from the Patriots Demario Douglas bejan

Robinson who’s a running back qu Quinton Johnston who I am consistently told is such a bust he’s terrible he’s no good he’s uh looks like Tarzan plays like Jane he still had more receiving yards than Jameson Williams this year Jonathan Mingo for the Carolina Panthers whose quarterback was rookie Bryce young

Probably the worst quarterback situation give me a player who played in the playoffs or was on a team record I’m not even done yet those all seem like about a total of seven wins I’m not even done Taj Spears a third round running back Trey Palmer sixth round Jaylen hayatt

Third round and Tucker craft third round tight end I get the context that Jameson will and the Lions made the playoffs but there were a lot of people there were a lot of people on that Detroit Lions team who contributed way more heavily to that team than Jameson Williams did I like

The potential I like the big play ability I like that they were getting more him more consistently involved like in the Broncos C for example where he had five catches but the numbers will tell you that Jameson Williams has been a massive disappointment and a bust am I

Saying that he is a bust not necessarily because he’s contributed to winning games at times but you can’t you need to hold him to a standard he’s the number 12 overall pick and if you’re looking at receivers from that draft class the only ones who you in my opinion who you can

Definitively say are not a bust are Garrett Wilson and Chris olve these are guys that from day one were like absolute Stars thousand yard receivers both years Garrett Wilson was rookie of the year but Jameson Williams he just has not earned that cart launch for me

Yet not even close so his grade for me for this season is D+ wow that’s you got flannel oh no I think he proved the point that I didn’t even think I need to rebuttal cuz he said you know the numbers it it doesn’t paint the whole context they’re just they’re just

Numbers Jameson Williams all those competing players he named on three and 15 team three in 14 teams they’re all trash Jameson Williams actually contributes to winning football J Williams he’s on a bu never existed with the Lions who made the playoffs this year yes maybe yes a th% yes you know

How I know that that because they were they were a three and one in the games in which he didn’t play and then they won the Vikings game in which he sat out after he got injured in the Cowboys game I’m not saying that Jameson Williams doesn’t Elevate their ceiling but they

If you took Aman raah off of this team they’d probably be screwed if but a lot of those players that you mentioned as having better Seasons than Jameson Williams I believe that if you put Jameson Williams in their position those teams probably actually are in a

Position where they have to use him and his stats go up up up up up and up like when I look at Jameson Williams and I look at the season that he did I got toide with Terry a little bit my grave for him was going to be a C+ part of

That is on him you know the injuries that happens in football but the inability to be there because of the suspension that’s on him and I have to be able to say you know what they said that they needed to get a little bit more Chemistry Between he and Jared GF

And his abil inability to be there uh at the start of the season because of that suspension that cost him a lot but I believe that this is more of a team grade this is almost like a you know we’re giving out finals right we’re giving out grades during finals week of

The Lions this was the team project this isn’t just all on him I don’t believe that the Detroit Lions put Jameson Williams in the best position to succeed and I think that that’s something that they absolutely have to have figured out because we’re all sitting up here

Believing that next season he has to be or is going to be or is trending to be wide receiver number two these are the kind of some of the things that we’re hearing uh bant about if they don’t fix something as it relates to the game plan

Right away with Jameson Williams I don’t believe that this is going to be uh I think we’re going to see pretty much a repeat of what we saw this year and we’re going to be sitting here realistically without anything to really base this off of who is Jameson

Williams here here’s what I said don’t do anything stupid during the offseason don’t get suspended don’t do any gambling stuff find out what jerck Go’s home address is and build some chemistry this is when you build chemistry during the off season it’s not during the season cuz everybody’s hustling trying to get

Wishes for my family and he knew that we were expecting and such and it was like that’s the type of guy that he was he was always there encouraging he was always there trying to make sure that uh you had what you needed to be successful every game I come out the press

Conference and it was the same routine head straight over to to the Players Club and he was sitting there just to give me advice to kind of boost me to lift me up and he did this with so many other people man so you know condolences

To his family I pray that God Comforts them and allows them to grieve properly too because there is no there’s no time limit on that type of stuff uh and ultimately that people who have had that connection with him can continue on in the spirit that he leaves behind of
