Hey golf people I’m on at the PGA TOUR Superstore and we’re testing out the four big new drivers from the big manufacturers we’ve got the Cobra dark speed I’ve got the tailor made qi1 I’ve got the Paradigm AI smoke and I’ve got the new ping 10K Max I’m really pumped

To try these drivers it’s going to be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to see which one comes out on top here at least in my initial test there’s a lot of Buzz around all of these new 2024 releases and there’s a lot of places you can

Have rolled out here this year as for the shaft this is the one shaft that’s going to be different because ping has its own shafts which I really love this is the tour 2.0 65 G stiff Flex all of the others are going to be 65 G stiff

Flex Tes this is supposed to be the most forgiving driver on planet Earth let’s put it to the test my driver swing actually hasn’t been that great recently so I need all the help I can get let’s see what happens well first one is pretty darn Central just a little

Left of that Center Line it rolled out to 264 I’ll take that for the first swing the first thing I noticed right off the bat is sound this sound is much better than the regular g430 which has been the complaint with ping drivers for a long time that people just don’t like

The sound it’s a little tiny that sounded to me nice and solid now looking down at it just a little bit bigger than the regular g430 of course this being a Max model it’s going to have a bigger head you got the same overall look though with this matte black finish

Hints of the carbon fiber kind of showing through there and you’ve got the big turbulators which I actually have gotten used to they don’t bother me at all it gives you another aiming point because they’re pointing towards the ball that was a good first shot let’s see if we can repeat it

Now that one I hit towards the heel and that was a really forgiving result I can’t believe that went 260 to be quite honest with you that one I caught right in the middle look at that boy these drives are going to be very close to each other that one rolled

Right out to 260 as well for the first three shots I could throw a blanket over those three that’s impressive cuz like I said my driver swing has not been the best so far I’m not that consistent on my own very often with my own driver at

Least okay finally you can see I’m leaning there on the Finish finally we’ve got a shot going right that isn’t in that Clump but still not a horrible result that was definitely my first really bad swing I was off balance that looked pretty nasty and you can see

There it’s off to the right considerably that’s probably going to be in the rough in most courses at least at my home course so it’ll forgive a lot of sins but it won’t forgive every sin just a little red of Target there again distance is great

Though seems like that 260 Mark is kind of where we’re living right now I’m going to hit one more and then we’re going to switch to one of the other amazing dri here of 20 24 and I would say five out of six of those drivers I would absolutely take

That one being really off balance that was going to be a tough one for any driver but I got to say for those first three shots to be in that tight of a dispersion right off the bat that is very very promising for me of what this

Driver can do but I can’t wait to see some of the other ones so let’s let’s try them now all right next victim up is going to be the qi1 max this is the other 10,000 Moi driver out on the market here in 2024 I really like the stealth red face

I didn’t like it at first though and at first I’m not so sure about this blue face but it’ll probably grow on me too I always just love the look of a tailor made driver this is a much bigger head than my regular stealth two from last

Year again this being the max model it’s going to be a little bit bigger than a lot of people are used to in terms of shaft on this one I’ve got the tensei 65 G stiff Flex here we go shot one coming oh it’s going right where that

Grouping of pings was let’s see how the distance is yeah just about the same roll out to 259 we’ve seen that number a few times now it felt good it’s solid I always love a tailor made feel and sound that’s something that they do really exceptionally all right shot two here

Again these drivers I think are making me look good because my driver swing like I said has been a little off now I did hit that a little lower on the face and I think we suffered a little bit distance-wise because of that is just behind some of those pings there where similar

Struck still a forgiving result shot three looks like it’s going to paint the line overall we’re three for three in the Fairway here with this driver as well and that might be our longest roll out to 268 the carry was 241 very good numbers for me that’s for sure oh yeah

Boy generally my shots just aren’t as straight as these two drivers that’s for sure Back Spin numbers are really good too 2500 that’s really nice that when I pushed o I really felt like I lost that one way out to the right and I think if it was my driver it

Would have been in the other zip code but that was I really believe a very forgiving result for a shot that happened about here on the club face with a really bad path and that’s a good way to end it little fade on that shot trajectory looks really good

Too in terms of the stats this is going to be really interesting all right next driver up is the Callaway AI smoke smoke now this year they’ve gone back to a carbon fiber look here on top it’s like a gloss carbon fiber look on the bottom

You got that pattern that came from the Paradigm it looks like a bowling ball to me now this one has two tungsten weights you’ve got one there towards the face you’ve also got a sliding weight Port there at the back of this club you can adjust your draw and fade settings with

That I like the look of this club from the bottom not so much on top okay we’ve got the same tensei 65 G shaft that was definitely pulled and I didn’t get that same forgiveness that I felt like I got with the other drivers though distance was really good probably catch maybe the

Left side at my course maybe the left rough just barely it wasn’t terrible but you could almost feel the forgiveness in those other two drivers compared to this driver on a similar strike all right shot two that was a better St strike a little higher up on the club

Face it’s fading just a little bit but it’s going to be right center of the Fairway and it finished at 259 it’s our magic number here for today that’s my best one so far with this club now you’d think that with that increased Moi that forgiveness generally

Drivers tend to seem like they lose a little bit of distance the more forgiving they are I didn’t see that at all with the Ping or with the qi1 oh that’s going right down the middle just a tiny little cut on that one power fade is what Phil Michelson

Would call it except his would go about 100 yards further that rolled down at 256 I would take that all day long in terms of distance very very similar ooh that felt middle of the club face to me and just a little ride of Target not

Quite as long as some of the other ones there but again I would take that result yeah that’s a good one okay we got over 260 we go 264 there that’s a good drive all in all pretty solid just maybe not quite quite as fre giving as those first two but a great

Driver let’s go to our fourth and final looking at the dark Speed Max love this matte black finish with that carbon fiber this is my favorite looking driver I think of this year nice deep face there big hitting area you’ve got the hot face technology that came over from

Last year you’ve got one weight back here in the back of the club one fixed weight here towards the face but that’s not adjustable the thing about the dark speed drivers this year is they are extremely aerodynamic the way they’ve built the shape and profile of these

Supposed to generate the max amount of Club head speed one thing I love about Cobra and they’ve done this for many years is this fitting sleeve that basically tells you exactly the setting you’ve got you can see I’ve got this set at standard at 102° like I’m hitting all

These drivers but if I was to change it it’s just so nice to see that here I’m at plus one or 112° and it’s right there easiest fitting system in the business love that about Cobra we’ll keep it at standard get this thing set up and take

Some shots now looking down at this one might be the biggest head of them all slightly draw biased but not too bad let’s see what happens oh that’s right down the middle so nice thuddy feel to it there right off the bat obviously a really good result that

One carried 233 and it rolled out to 258 another good one now I did hit that a little bit toe side but that wasn’t a horrible result again being the max model this is going to be the most forgiving driver in the lineup and that you know it’s left of

Target but I think it would probably still catch the Fairway maybe just be in the first cut did lose a little bit of distance there though shot three now that one probably my worst swing off balance but again not a terrible result carry was down but again all these cobras being

Kind of low spin that was 1991 I still got plenty of roll out there shot four let’s see if we can get it more in the center of this club face there we go just a little left to Target just a hair that’s a really really good ball and that one

263 now that one’s off to the right for the first time but certainly going to catch the right side of any Fairway and nice Peak height there total 261 that one pushed a little bit but gosh that got up in the air nice big time carry and that’s 267 that may be the

Best of all the drivers here today got to say I like the real firm feel to this driver definitely has a nice pop to it coming off the club face very forgiving of course this being a Max model and maybe the only difference here with this one is those off-center hits aren’t

Going to be quite as forgiving as that qi1 and ping 10K let’s look at the stats though all right taking a look at the stats here on average ball speed was 41.6 with the Ping 10K 141.5 just a little bit faster there with the qi1 14.7 with the AI smoke and the dark

Speed was actually the lowest there 138.5 in terms of launch angle with the Ping 10K 10.9 with the QI 10 11 again just slightly higher but that’s not much AI smoke 11.7 and 11.9 there with the dark speed actually the highest launching in terms of backspin 2259

That’s a great number there with the Ping 10K 2508 maybe a little on the higher side for me and I think what is ideal with the qi1 but still a good number the AI smoke 2173 that’s a good number and as you can see lowest spinning of them all is going

To be the dark speed at 1879 RPM on average the next thing I like to look at is Peak height that was 22.7 with the Ping 10K 24.7 with the qi1 really nice there a I smoke 24.1 and 21.6 with the dark speed in terms of carry

231.50 with the AI smoke that was actually the longest of them all and the dark speed came in at 229.3 but I will say there was a couple real long ones there with the dark speed so when you catch it right you certainly catch it right and when we talk about

Total yards I am not so concerned with this on a simulator but I’ll let you know what I saw ping 10K 256 even qi1 24.7 26.5 with the AI smoke and 27.8 the highest of them all due to that low spin and a lot of roll out there

With the dark Speed Max interesting numbers for sure all right well if I was walking out with a new driver which one would be in my hands here today I’ve got to say it’s got to be almost a tossup between the Ping 10K Max as well as as

The tailor made qi1 Max those two drivers just so forgiving at the heel and the toe pretty much going to get the same amount of distance as a center-fed hit that is incredible now I will say the Cobra if I was a little faster swing speed player that would probably be my

Pick especially at being such low spin you’re going to get that little extra carry maybe keep the ball a little lower especially if you’re playing in the wind terms of the AI smoke what a great Club in terms of front back dispersion just across the board maybe a little bit more

Left and right but across the board I pretty much had the same distance with that club with every single swing which is amazing so consistency wise fantastic there on the AI smoke four good options really almost can’t go wrong but again for me it probably would be I guess if I
