Last week we had rain in Southern California this week we’re going to have rain in the deserts of Arizona I don’t know what’s going On welcome back to Bray birs DFS one of the best places for PGA NFL MLB and NBA news and of course DFS if you don’t know by now I’m Walt if you haven’t already please like And subscribe to my Channel all right so let’s jump into my analysis

Of the Waste Management Phoenix Open all right so let’s look at some things to consider all right so the Waste Management Phoenix Open there is stadium seating so up to 350,000 people can attend this event uh I think recently the highest we’ve had is like over 210,000 and obviously they going to be

More people attending um on days on Sunday but not that being being said this is just highly unusual for a PGA Golf Tournament so those players that can handle you know the lights and the attention in all of the crowds so close to them that is something to consider

The next thing are the water hazards there are a lot of water hazards and over the years we’ve seen good rounds turn to bad rounds when people cannot manage to get around those water hazards I think we’re all happy with this next one this is one course and that makes

Our analysis and analyzing the analysis of other people so much more easy also there is shotlink data it makes no sense that the whole PGA Tour on all of their courses it makes no sense that shot link isn’t available but we’re moving on so we have 100% historical and current data

To analyze not just pre event but also for us that are playing Showdown also very interesting it is going to be rainy and Breezy Thursday but no major delays are expected we can look right here I can pull over here and we can look and

We can see that um it’s going to be raining on we can I’m recording this on Tuesday raining on Tuesday raining Tuesday night raining Wednesday raining Wednesday night and a 70% chance of showers on a Thursday so why is this important well one of the key features

To this course is normally that it’s firm and fast and we’ll talk about that so this course is not going to be as firm and fast as usual also look at the temperatures we know it can get cold in the desert but it’s going to be 45° when those golfers start on Thursday

Morning and it’s going to be 41 degrees when a golfer start on Friday morning and 42° on Saturday so it is going to be more it’s not going to be firm it’s not going to be as fast it’s going to be wet and it’s going to be colder than normal

So just something to think about especially for Showdown all right let’s get back to the uh to the screen and we can see that recent form in the field so number one recent form is Justin Thomas we can look and see that he was six at Pebble Beach third at the American

Express third at the Hero World Challenge fourth at nedbank and fifth at the foret championship next we have Sheffer who was six at Pebble Beach 17th at American Express fifth at the century he won the Hero World Challenge and sixth at the Tour Championship now there

Is a gap between Scotty sheffler and uh JT Poston so know that Justin Thomas and Scotty sheffler are the number one and number two you know golfers in recent form there’s some golfers in in between Scotty sheffler and JD Poston nonetheless he has been playing well he

Was 20th at Pebble Beach 11th at the American Express six at the Sony Open fifth at the century and 44th at the RSM classic we also have Max hom who was 66 at Pebble Beach 13th at the farmers 14th at the century 13th at the Hero World

Challenge and he won the Ned bank and coming in fifth surprisingly at least for me was Bo hosler so bo bo hosler was 14th at Pebble Beach sixth at the farmers 47th at the American Express 15th at the worldwide technology championship and second at the Zozo

Which was in Japan the no cut event all right so who has won this event in the past you can see that Scotty Sheffer has won backto back years 19 underpar last year 16 underpar the year before that and you can see that huge salary that is

Why he is the highest salary player in the field then you have Ricky Fowler uh who won with a 17 underpar in 2019 he has a more reasonable salary of 88,200 we have Gary Woodland who won with 18 under par in 2018 with a salary of 7,000

And we have decky who won with a a salary he has a salary of 8,400 he won in 2017 and 2016 in 2017 he won with a score of 17 under par all right so let’s talk about TPC Scottdale uh it’s 7261 yards normally is firm and fast and

Because of that it has the longest driving distance on tour of 305 so that’s going to be impacted based on the weather that we see this is a par 71 course so we’ve had a couple of par 72s we’re now down to a par 71 course so we

Have four par 3s we have 11 par fours and we only have three par fives all right so let’s look at those players to Target well first of all let’s look at uh the the statistics that we should Target and with this course you’re going

To need players that are good off the te the next thing that’s really going to be important is the approach shot so you manage to avoid all the hazards you’re going to need to follow that up with a good approach shot we’re going to need players that are good at bogey avoidance

Because I mean this is the kind of course and situation where you can you know have a triple bogey and it can be game over scrambling is going to be so important and because we have the extra par 4 par four scoring is going to be very important

All right so players to Target first we have Max hom because of how he’s been doing as far as Strokes gain off the tea also next we have Kevin Yu because of his strokes gang off the te then we have Eric Cole he’s been playing really well

With his approach game the same thing goes for Gary Woodland and then we’re going to Target JJ spawn because of his scrambling abilities all right so let’s get back to DraftKings and I’m going to point out one player in each of the tiers over 10,000 9,000 8,000 7,000 6000

That I think you should consider so in the over 10,000 tier they’re only two players so I’m going to go with Justin Thomas because he gives you $1,600 in salary savings over Sheffer and he is uh the golfer with the best recent form in the 9000s I’m going with Max hom we

Talked about his Strokes gained off the te we know he’s been one of the best players as far as recent form next in the 8000s I’m going with Bo hosler we talked about in this field he’s the fifth best as far as recent form and I

Just like him as a salary savings as far as some of the other players that are around him and then we have Kevin Yu we talked about his skill Strokes game off the t uh he didn’t he didn’t have the best tournament against Pebble Beach but

Before that he was six at the farmers and third at American Express and then we talked about JJ spawn and his scram rambling so let me know your thoughts if you have any comments or specific questions you can leave them otherwise go out there and win that
