Weekends or or anything like that have you no I spent it catching up with uh three quarters of the Scottish pod post uh post game so that was my that was my weekend was catching up with Craig Manson Camy and uh John McGinty John Anderson was home in Scotland I think uh

So there’s only one of us that’s got a drinking game to poast about this weekend then James you’re you’re you’re okay on that one well I I had to win something this weekend because I got a tune in um both in the scrum and in uh

In the in the um in the game as well so so before we do drink of the week then tell us just how [ __ ] you wear on the weekend and I will give all credit to Andover they’re a bloody good outfit and nice Lads as well but they their scrum

That literally arrived on the Tuesday and on the Wednesday night my wife found out she was pregnant with our first child she oh well I can’t drink I can’t drink with and all they were literally 36 bottles of wine just sat in the lounge and I was the only one in the

House drinking it was [ __ ] awesome was was brilliant that stuff uh so my uh my beer of the week is another one of my Harbors uh it’s called BL have I pronounced that right Carwin yeah yeah BL dragon dragon okay [ __ ] woles I can’t even I can’t

Little bit of news so uh Jamie serious news first and then not a serious news after so uh yeah news of the week if you will who’s Jame yeah so unfortunately some very sad news to start off the Pod it emerged uh yesterday evening at Barry John the legendary former Cardiff Wales

And British and Irish Lions flyer has died age 79 um after making his debut in 1966 John played in 25 tests for Wales and five tests for the British and Irish Lions Barry John cemented his Lions Legacy against the old blacks in 1971 by playing a starring role in that historic

2-1 win over the H who dubbed him the king and that’s something I found out this weekend I thought he was a nickname that the Welsh media and suppored giving up it was actually the New Zealand it was the Kiwi media that Ted him the that’s how well respected he was um yeah

So it’s just very sad news he retired the following year as well after that age just 27 uh Barry John and his former Cardiff Alliance teammate sir G Edwards are regarded as one of the greatest halfback Partnerships in rugby history so um yeah very sad news the golden

Generation of Welsh Legends you know your jprs your Benny’s and Etc they’re all dying out now and it’s really really sad isn’t it to see uh these players leave us but um yeah Abby what could you say he was the king he was one hell of a

Was on that tour but someone like Adam beard right has played rugby pretty much nonstop from 2021 Lions tour where he was called up instead of James Ryan um sorry I had to get that in there um and then has played but has pretty much played ever

Since and has not had a break because he’s been in the test teams he’s been in the the World Cup squad you know it’s a serious play of welfare issue yeah and you want to add a fourth test to that just again I’m not just I’m

Not saying we don’t need the catch we do but a pointless force test that screams like a 13 old draw with Fiji where we need like a Nicki Robinson drop goal but it does it’s like it’s you know like the the one where we barely beat Japan with Sam Davis playing 10 that

A with a break in the middle was for player welfare the idea was is if you were involved in the six Nation squads you didn’t play on those in between weeks and now we put really important games on those in between weeks and then straight after and all that kind of

Stuff just yeah just needs a little bit more thought and organization I think Revenue isn’t it International Rugby is the biggest revenue for the game so that’s why they’re Keen to have as many tests they can like you know K SL to I get it but um it’s just the games become

Pointless they don’t mean anything to they you know there’s nothing on the line they are just glorified friendlies so that’s the the the issue isn’t it yeah I’d like to play more in the Summer where you can actually go and have a beer for the day instead of hiding it
