Good evening basketball fans and welcome to tonight’s part of the North conference basketball game between the visiting Hayward hurricanes and ourry P the WIA C high school and Cameron High School have a longstanding reputation of quality Sports competition and outstanding athletes in order to retain that reputation and make this a positive
Educational experience we ask that athletes cheerleaders coaches and fans conduct themselves in a sportsman like manner at this time to honor America and those defending our freedom please stand remove your hands and listen for the playing of our national An For [Applause] and now for tonight’s starting lineup first for the visiting chamber hurricane number five a sophore number 1 a junior Tyler Eaton number 22 a senior Nate Harrison number 23 a [Applause] junior number 24 senior mil the hurricanes are post by Patrick harison and now for [Applause] Ourry Ch test test test good evening once again everyone and welcome to Cameron high school for heart of the North conference basketball we’re just underway here as the Hayward hurricanes are in town to take on the Cameron comets and we’ve got our first steal of the game and our first Miss of the game
Brady Quinn goes up for a one-handed dunk and comes up empty so the uh hurricanes come in at 4 and8 in hard the north play four and 14 overall and they are led by a [Applause] senior as the first shot on the Hayward end is missed they are led by
Uh their senior leader Nate Harrison 6 fo0 6 foot senior uh averaging 12.5 per game he wears number 22 for the hurricanes and we have our first turnover on the Hurricanes end as uh Dawson jorak Walks With It Tyson Lucas the floor general for the Comets dribbles across the timeline looks like
Hayward’s in a 23 Zone and we’ve got Zimmerman Murray seals Lucas and Brady Quinn in for the comets uh the Comets 16 and one on the season as Lucas lets the first three fly and hits it Pon Lucas once again the leading scorer for the Comets comets out early 5 nothing 1628 to
Go and as I uh get the number square and the name Square for the Hurricanes that’s number 2 two Harrison as I mentioned the leading scorer he gets that across the skip C pass over to 13 Eaton Eaton over to 24 that’s McCullum jorak now with the ball loses
It and there’s a scramble and it looks like at half court there’s going to be a jump ball so that tie up between uh jorak and Zimmerman goes the way of the comets also on the floor then for the uh comets McCullum as mentioned jorak uh Hansen Lucas Hansen Tyler Eaton and Nate
Harrison deep three Again by Lucas off the back iron and here come the Hurricanes Hansen gets it up to McCullum ends up in the hands of Harrison he takes a fall way three and that hits the center of the cylinder nice looking three by the senior and the
Hurricanes come up with a steel and they turn it right back over as I think Quinn got his hand in the meat grinder Lucas kicks it over to seall sealls deep and Kobe sealls comes up with his first three of the game those are the two uh
Leading nice pass inside pass to 23 J Zach and he’s fouled foul is going to go against looks like Trey Zimmerman Hayward wants a shooting foul and it is so that’s uh jorak to the line 64 Jor 5.7 points per game uh just over looks like he’s 57% from the charity stripe on
The season thus far is it and just off so 15 minutes to go here in the first half 8 to three in favor of the comets and uh as they’ve done all year the Comets come out and get up and down the floor uh very quickly as I mentioned then the Hayward
Hurricanes are 4-8 hard of North Play 4 and 14 overall uh their most notable win just earlier this week they scored 81 points against the Golden Bears and uh came away with a nice Victory there that one was in Hayward actually all right so Murray over to Sea walls Murray back at
The top of the key two3 Zone Again by the canes and nice pass Again by Tyson Lucas we mention every game that Tyson is a terrific passer but I was surprised to see he is not the assist leader on this team that is one Cory Murray um
Cory averaging I believe just over four assists per game um for the Comets Brady Quinn to the line then and Brady drains calmly the first [Applause] one Brady a 57% free throw shooter and he’s off oh he gets the friendly roll so he’s 100 % tonight but 50% 57% from the
Line as he takes a seat and Carter churny Carter uh third leading scorer on this team uh Second and rebounds really having a nice season the junior 63 all right uh comets come out with some heavy pressure ton Lucas with an easy uh bucket after the steal a lot of contact
There and the officials let him play on and the Comets showing going a press now and they have the canes in trouble as they get it across the timeline that’s McCullum he gets it over to Hansen Hansen up no good into the game number 13 Eaton for
The uh hurricanes and he’s fouled on the shot Tyler Eaton a 51 Jor 11 points a game uh 73% so he’s solid from the stripe and call me dams the first one so no problem there for the junior looks like uh one senior starter on this team now let’s that make that
Two with Miles McCullum as uh Eaton hits the second kan’s now with the ball they get it inside to Murray Murray dribbles out of trouble gets it over to Lucas Lucas careless with the ball but it comes back to him Tyson Lucas with some shaking and bacon over on the right
Wing gets it over to Murray Murray dribbles in kicks it back to seall sealls hit but no call and they are letting them play early on here Tyson Lucas up against the uh much taller McCullum and Brady Quinn comes up with the ball goes up for the layup and he’s
Fouled so he’ll go back to the line 125 1331 in the first half in favor of the Comets the Comets coming off uh substantial win streak since that loss in early January to the lady Smith Lumberjack so the Comets in division four ranked sixth I believe it is and they’re
Uh I don’t know if I want to call it a rival but the unity Eagles are um also one loss in the season they lost earlier this season against the somerset team and so you can almost feel that Clash of uh those two teams coming again
So the canes with the ball Lucas Hansen dribbles across the timeline gets it over to Eaton Eaton dribbles into and out of trouble and he’s on the floor and sealls comes up with the loose ball sealls can’t find the handle has to slow it down fakes a three over to Zimmerman
Zimmerman to the top of the key he’s double team into the uh much taller Carter churny and churny easily puts it up and over and in for his first bucket of the game as Tyson Lucas is going to pick up a foul 30t from the hoop blocking foul against Tyson it’s
His second already isn’t it no I think that’s his first three team fouls now on on the home team first team foul against Tyson kanes get it in and uh Harrison takes a deep and quick three he’s got a nice release nice looking shot you can see why he’s the
Leading scorer on this team I’m going to guess that’s the coach’s son the coach Pat Harrison nice pass inside to Quinn Quinn off the iron no good and hurricane comes up with the re the hurricanes come up with the rebounds and here comes Hansen Hansen dribbles in it off the top
Of the key over to Harrison Harrison gets it down I believe that is jarac and finally Hansen 6-1 sophomore hits it 8.7 points per game for Hansen nice looking shot there as he gets on the board Tyson Lucas is going to shoot three miss it so tyon one for I believe three shots
Now from three-point l [Applause] Harrison comes in high off the glass no good Brady Quinn climbs the ladder gets the rebound gets it to Tyson Tyson with a Euro Step of floater no good and that goes over I’m sorry the rebound then to McCullum that goes to Eaton Eaton’s got
It now gets it over to Harrison back up to McCullum McCullum pushes and dribbles in and loses the ball Tyson Lucas behind the back and a nice easy hoop for Tyson so Tyson doing what he does a lot of steals and a lot of breakaway layups had a terrific game against the
Beavers the other night 28 points on the night for Tyson as Eaton comes up empty nice pickoff then by Harrison he throws it up no good but a foul and that’s going to be again against Cory Murray two shot foul block foul on Murray and Harrison will go to the line
Harrison once again a uh senior 12 and a half points a game uh 58% from the charity stripe on the season eyballs the first one and the Lefty misses it into the game Kyle gusi is what I’m going to say ji 6 foot Jr 2 and A2 points a game for
Kyle as Harrison eyeballs the second and this one is good so 18-9 your score 11 minutes to go first half Tyson Lucas dribbles to the center kicks it back out and nice pass inside churny tries the same and uh has it deflected Away by Harrison so quick hands in there by the
Hurricanes almost throw it away on their uh getting a little lazy on the way down the court Harrison pulls the trigger from three and rattles it in soft hand soft rim for Harrison Nice Shot 1812 1023 to go Tyson Lucas in forces his way in comes up empty
Kees get the ball and the benefit of a foul I believe churny called for that one that’s right is second Carter churn is going to come out Murray Back In Trey Zimmerman sealls Quinn and Lucas on the floor for the Kings it’s gaji Harrison McCullum and Hansen and he throws it
Away Murray down left side kicks it over to Tyson Lucas Tyson inside a couple of head fakes and goes up for an easy [Applause] two Hansen dribbles across met by sealls gusi gets it over and gets kicked out of bounds by Murray stays on the
Ke’s side of the floor but rolls all the way to the end of the gym [Applause] coach Harrison retrieves it kicks it back and the officials are ready to get started here gusi with the ball gets it over to Eaton Eaton dribble penetrates and loses the ball and that’s going to
Stay lost it’s going to go to the comets and Tyson will come out and in will come um Bennett morovitz number 20 uh Bennett a J 5’11 3 and 1/2 points per game roughly 3.4 to be exact Bennett got the ball now surveys gets it into Zimmerman Zimmerman
High and Off the Mark uh Trey’s been a little bit off the mark this season last season the few times he got in he was deadly and had a couple of games early this year where he uh also was really on the mark but got to get a little confidence in
That stroke does number 32 because he has a pretty one Eon loses the ball but then sealls hits it out of bound it’s going to stay on the side of the Kings Harrison to pass it in they set their inbounds play ball comes out deep to Eaton or Hansen rather

Surveys sea walls cutting the Baseline was open for a second but Trey did not see him morovitz dribbles in Trey’s going to try another one and we like to see that as that shot looked much more confident uh he is going to be tough to stop when he realizes just how good he
Is here now in the right wing kicks it over to mullik takes a couple of baby steps no call and hits the two sealls left wide open Rises probably two open and Zimmerman tries to save it and steps out of bounds into the game for the first time for the
Canes is number 14 and I’m going to see if I can find out who that is that is Preston Sullivan at 511 sophomore and Eaton has the ball now tries to pass it over to Sullivan loses it Brady Quinn loses it everybody loses it and there’s a
Foul so nobody really had a good handle on that but Murray finally got enough of it that they called the foul against the Hurricanes eaten out of the game and who went and that’s number three that went in that is Ben Lair a 510 Jr as Bennett morovitz from downtown gets
On the score board he’s uh his first three nice dribble penetrate number 14 Sullivan he hits the two and a 30se second timeout called by the coach more specifically the uh Cameron coach I’m just finding out the mic was off the entire time since uh we got kicked off
Here so I apologize for that so I guess I get to recap uh we are at 2516 739 to go in the first the Comets in the lead starting to build a comfortable lead already here as we go and it’s been typical Cameron basketball
With a lot of up and down uh steals that have transitioned into points Tyson Lucas has been on fire of course not so much from downtown but he’s got several in the lane as he dribble penetrates kicks it out to seall seall is a little short Quinn comes in with a bowling ball
But no call that’s uh Kyle gusi with the ball that’s number one and he gets to over to the leading score for the kees Hansen or uh Harrison Harrison over all the way across to mullik and it is going to be I think a foul on 30 that’s Brady Quinn so Brady
Quinn is that his second no that’s his first 16 team fouls already on the home team three on the canes ball is kicked into mccullock he kicks it over to gaji Harrison mulla’s going to take a three that’s short and here comes Kobe sealls when he touches the ball his uh
Flight Instinct kicks in and he is gone Tyson Lucas tries to uh Elevate from the stripe but gets the ball taken away actually kind of lost it himself Harrison with some Nifty ball handling but Murray stops him lared over to uh gusi back over to Harrison mccullock now with the ball left wing
Surveys gets it up to goosi he’s back to that Sullivan Preston Sullivan and a deep Ball by gaji doesn’t hit much and here comes seall sealls over to Carter churny churny to Murray Murray is hit and the foul is called foul is going to be on number three three I
Believe no number one that is uh gaji I hope I’m saying his name right that’s Kyle gaji a 6 foot Jr ball passed in now and shot taken by Carter churny it’s no Good Murray now with the ball left wing kicks it back out to Lucas Lucas dribbles up double teamed inside he kicks it over to well Murray ends up with it Lucas is going to take a deep three that’s going to be long but Carter churny High for the rebound rips it away
Gets it out to Zimmerman Zimmerman pumps but doesn’t fire Brady Quinn’s going to go in and with a nice right-handed layup more of a finger roll for Brady so the Comets uh I wouldn’t say they’re clicking on all cylinders on offense but they certainly are getting it done on the offensive end
Uh ball goes in back out over to Hansen Hansen dribbles and is fouled it’s going to be a shooting foul I believe I think that’s called on Murray so Lucas Hansen at the Line 6 foot one sophomore nice looking player 8.7 points per game uh 60% from the uh
Charity stripe EI eyballs is first and gets the roll that foul was on Murray is second seven team fouls now so it’s going to be uh one and one for the uh kees going forward second one is good and tyon Lucas will dribble across the timeline so tyon surveys kicks it
Over to Murray Murray left wing over to Zimmerman Zimmerman gets it over to churny back to Murray Murray sees Zimmerman cut he is muscles it up and the hoop and the harm the foul on number three that’s lard and Trey Zimmerman I believe is 100% this season from the line uh I want
To say four for four he double checked that churny and Murray out now more ofit back in Zimmerman four for four make it five for five from from the line on the season so shooting uh a th 100% for the 63 closer to 6’4 Junior Trey
Zimmerman all right on the ke’s end ball is tipped away by Tyson Lucas he leaves it for morovitz and morovitz is going to [Applause] travel so on the floor for Hayward uh I got number 25 in the game that is Bradley young a 61 Jr so number
25 young eaten as Quinn tips the ball away he’s going to want to dunk it and decides to lay it in wisely didn’t have his puppies gathered there and uh he’s already had one off the rim that he tried to dunk earlier and that one was
Setting up for the same thing so wisely lays it in so another nice basket for Brady Quinn the rebound leader for the Comets Euro Step In for 13 Eaton and he is bumped and fouled and I think that’s going to be Brady Quinn’s second Eaton with a nice shot to Junior
11 points a game on the season and out comes the aforementioned young and he’s replaced by one of the starters uh mullet McCullum I should say so McCullum in the game Jor Zac in the game 6’4 junor is jorak as Eaton drains the uh drains the free throw and gets the oldfashioned three-point
Play nice pass inside from Tyson to Brady in so yeah mentioned before if you got your head on the swivel Tyson will find you get to the hole Tyson tips the ball and he is a thorn in the side of the hurricanes on the uh defensive end that’s for
Sure so balls out of bounds that’s going to be inbounds in the corner Lucas Hansen to pass it in Lucas a nice looking player lot of nice looking athletes on this kee’s team they’re a fairly young team so uh just like so many of the teams in
The heart of the north they’re going to see some they going to see some improvement next season as these guys mature Brady tips it away is going to go coast to coast is fouled and makes the shot showing his strength there is Brady Quinn and also his speed as he gets up
And down the floor fairly quickly Brady Quinn again 57% from the line 12.9 points per game he’s going to boost that average tonight I don’t have his uh I don’t have his official score yet nice looking three or I’m sorry free throw is up but does not
Fall and a carry going to be the call Tough call against Hansen uh he keep kept his hand above the ball but if you’re going to Del uh dribble it above your head you’re most likely going to get the whistle on that Lucas dribbles it across coach is
Barking out some orders and Tyson immediately comes left side screen set and he carries the ball little indecision there and that one was definitely a carry as he got all the way underneath the ball all right 3621 314 to go in the first half the Comets comfortably in
Lead in the lead but these canes put up 81 just Tuesday night against the Golden Bears so they can score Eaton has the ball McCullum he kicks it over to five that is oh I don’t have these names down yet Hansen Eaton goes up crowd doesn’t like
The foul but Eaton’s going to go to the stripe and I believe the foul is going to be on Trey Zimmerman coach wants to know when you uh get that much leather is that really a foul and it is 32 uh guilty that’s Zimmerman nine fouls now on the home team so already
Approaching double bonus first one is no good for Eaton second one is in the center so Eaton as mentioned a 60% free throw shooter and he gets 50% on that trip Zimmerman’s going to shoot deep High arcing ball and it’s an airball boy he’s got such a nice looking shot
And he gets dialed in gets some confidence in that Harrison with a quick trigger barely got off the ground just let it rip uh from Deep he is 36% from the field on the season is Harrison the leading scorer for the kanes look like a jump ball no they’re lining up for free

G gayeski gusi gesi I guess it is is the pronunciation and I appreciate that as Harrison pulls the trigger from deep but no good here come the Comets very quickly up and that looked like a travel to me and it was Brady Quinn dragging that toe just can’t quite organize his feet

Surveys gets it down to Quinn Quinn’s going to go all the way to the hoop with a Nifty right handed a turns big step to his right and up and in and a timeout now called by the Hayward coach 30 second timeout we’re going to take that 30 seconds and hear from Northwood Tech [Applause] [Laughter] [Applause] and as we uh resume play after that timeout 4225 and we’re under a minute to play the Comets in the lead as eaten with a nice cut to the hoop and a right-handed layup Bennett morovitz across the timeline line kicks it over to
Murray 38 seconds to go the com going to hold it for the last shot I kind of doubt it and sealls takes the shot but Lucas slow getting up he’s going to be charged with a uh offensive foul player control foul is what I would call that and Tyson favoring his right
Ankle there’s nobody on the Cameron sideline that wants to see that tyon uh extremely valuable extremely Valuable Player for these uh Cameron [Applause] comets all right eatting again and eating fouled again that kid is very good at getting into the paint and drawing fouls [Applause] [Applause]

That this is youth night for the Cameron comets and we are going to see I believe third through uh we’re going to find out in a minute here I think it’s six or seventh graders are going to be uh participating in a little bit of a shooting cont contest and they’re going
To recognize some of those youth players I’m just going to guess that they’re going to recognize those who have anticipated in the sh CH which is basically [Applause] uh which is basically uh recognizing kids who have taking taken shots at home in the gym over the season so let’s listen in and

Fourth and fifth gret the basketball the concession the seven and gret under the basketball by so third through eighth graders participating as we’re going to get entertained here by the the uh future All Star for the comets and they do have some terrific young Shooters In This Crowd I got to
Watch them the other day in kind of a shoot around fun day and uh I’m going to give the uh well you know I don’t know all those kids but I know the coach’s kid and I’m going to give the young um Jackson lavali some props the little
Fella can shoot from Beyond The Ark [Applause] all right let’s take a look uh looks like third fourth fifth on the right six seventh eighth on the left would be my guess starting out with uh free throws we’re going to take a moment then and talk about the uh statistics here
For halftime the player scores no surprise is leading the way for the Comets actually this yeah I’ll say no surprise 14 points Brady Quinn so Brady having a nice half all on two pointers and one two three four uh free throws and he’s got one
Foul in the first half so Brady with 14 Tyson with 11 Tyson one three and the rest coming from inside the ark and then two from the stripe and he’s got two fouls Kobe SE balls well let’s go down to Trey Zimmerman with seven points Trey with three inside the ark and then
A free throw so again is he four for four five for five from the line so far this season so shooting 100% two fouls on Trey Kobe sealls with three points a lone three-pointer one foul for him Carter churny with a two-point basket and two fouls Bennett morovitz with a
Three and he’s picked up a foul and who am I missing Brady qu uh I’m sorry uh Cory Murray with two Tongue Tied there and uh he’s got two fouls as well so hopefully that adds up to 42 points 28 points then for the Hurricanes it looks like their leading
Scorer as always on the season Nate Harrison the 6 foot Junior has 10 points on the night nine for Tyler Eaton once again Tyler has gotten to the rim quite often and has made the most of it with five free throws he’s got one foul nobody really in foul trouble on either end
Um one a piece uh other notable scores here Lucas Hansen with five uh three and then two inside the ark that doesn’t add up to five but um I’m going to say he’s got seven on the night then miles McCullum with two-point basket Preston Sullivan with a free
Throw and a two-point basket let’s take a look here on the right side the south side of the gym as the I’m assuming third and fourth graders are Towing the line and you can tell they have been coached I’m seen a lot of uh nice releases little goose neck
And there are your future All Stars I did get a chance to talk to coach lavali um I did have have an interview that I wanted to play for you but technical issues kept that from happening but the uh Crux of the interview centered around uh where the Comets are going forward and
Um things are laying out nicely uh for the Comets there is one thing that’s a a little bit of a surprise and that is that the uh Cumberland beavers could end up being seated in such a way that if if Cameron does end up with a number one or
With a uh yeah number one seed they could end up with a buy now that’s a lot of wha ifs and there’s a lot of basketball between now and then and we have seen that the comets can uh come out and struggle as of late they have not um they played a good
Game over at Cumberland but the Beavers played a terrific game uh led by arguably the best player in the heart of the north and maybe in maybe North of Highway 29 um and Gavin Gores he was on fire I don’t remember his stats for three from three-point land but it was a
Bunch and he ended up over 30 points then 31 points on the night but that came that game came down to the wire the Comets did escape with a victory but what I was trying to get to is that it is a possibility that they could end up
Looking at Cumberland early on in the playoffs which from my perspective would be a bit of a shame um but when you look at wins in losses and uh that carries the most weight then Cumberland could end up being a much lower seed than than uh they probably
Deserve all right wrapping up our halftime activities we’ve got a couple of minutes that we’re going to get the second half started once again 4228 in favor of the comments don’t forget to stick around after the game your fre CER basketball poster from the varsity team they will be pass out in the
Area the uh hurricanes have shch warehouser coming up on the eighth at home that’s their next heart of the north game the Comets meanwhile uh will be at Prescott on Monday 700 p.m. so they’re going to go down and face a tough Prescott team they’re leading their
Conference uh be a terrific game if we can get that one live streamed and if you can’t it is a fair drive down there but might be worth the uh price of admission to go down and watch the Comets take on a non-conference uh team that’s leading their conference
As well uh Saturday then they are let me get this straight now on the eighth so that would be next Thursday they are traveling to Lady Smith to try to uh avenge that loss uh to The Lumberjacks and then on the 10th that’s Saturday they
Are um back for St Croy Falls here at home so couple of tough games coming up for for the comets and uh they’ll see if they can maintain that lead in the heart of the north lady Smith and Northwestern are uh kind of ding it out for that second spot right [Applause]
