The January transfer window is closed and we’re back to league business. We’ve got some new recruits in, and our first match is away at the Peninsula to take on Salford City.

Okay so we have people coming back in um how does Phil Park feel about it they asked him he goes let’s ask him well the window has been a difficult one at our level Rex a manager in Chelsea athletic mainly because there hasn’t been so much

Movement at the top of the G top end of the game that uh that then has a KnockOn effect and the lower down maybe players who thought thought might be available suddenly weren’t um I’m relatively pleased and looking forward to getting our heads down for the rest of the

Season keeping the quality in the squad was important including Arthur AO uh we we’ve also made made two additions with Luke and Jake in Luke and Jake plus the lads we have coming back from injury so he sees the people that are coming back from injury as as obviously positives

Going in um so we looked at Luke for a while he’s a dynamic and direct player who we feel can can bring a lot to the squad he’s also young and there’s plenty of room for him to keep developing we’re pleased that with that signing of Luke

Or B I call him bolt uh that’s signing and I’m looking forward to working with him the same goes for Jack who’s in good allaround has a good all round game you can play him into his feet and he has get he has the mobility and he has uh a

Good goal record throughout his career sometimes signings are about timing so that’s good also too talking about getting to his feet we got to get that ball on the ground we’re got to talk about that in this game going against sford got to get the ball on the ground

Can’t be lumping this long passes um these long passes over to mlan and popping it in Ivan was talking about that yesterday uh so here you go John H is the interesting bit to me where he was stalking where he was talking of Evans for two years and Lee to and

What are summer plans um who is likely to be playing for the final months of the club this is one’s kind of interesting I apologize again just reading off my phone on this too uh with so many out of contract this is the interesting one here I think with so

Many out of contract the summer is likely to feature plenty of emotional farewells toer Luke young eron Hayden Jordan Jordan ton Cliffe are among those deals that expire at the end of June all have been great servants and played their part in getting Rex them to the place where they are with backtack

Emotions feeling achievable but choser who is 34 next month month Hayden T Cliffe have all both struggled have all struggled with injury over the past year and young despite being Club Captain would probably have seen himself cut from the 22-man squad had Lindsay arrived I wouldn’t have been all right

With that I would have been all right with that M mcfan another out on contract uh will depart Rob Leighton and Mark Howard will also fall into those final few months of their own deals Waters contractor 25 do we bring him back or do we sell him make some money

Um Phil Parkinson’s 950 ma 50th match as a manager has uh has the look of fascinating clash between a side Keen to prove that they can improve their way their away record and one which will be eager to start getting results at home after three consecutive away performance which represented a significant upturn

Of form in their new manager uh the rexam angle says after a brave exit from the FA Cup and a busy transfer deadline day Focus uh can finally return into the league and in the two weeks since they played last played in the league the results have been kind yes the results

Have been counted in fact southford city did us a favor because they beat crew Alexander um um in that in their last match so that’s really good and Mansfield have done really well and losing for us is so that’s good um he said uh it’s still tight at the top

Though uh and attention has recently turned to the difference between our home and away form which is very crucial because we have five away games in this in the in February so we have to five out of seven uh the remarkable start which what sums this up is that we’re

Outperforming ined goals at home more than any other side in the top four divisions and underperforming expected goals XG I think means expected goals somebody can uh clarify that for me I’m sure um and underperforming and expected goals XG more than any other side in away matches so our last League match

Was disappointing one loss to Newport obviously and Fair Credit to Newport I thought that he played really well uh even though we were down to 10 men but um you know we I think we could have won that game a couple things could have went the other way uh but you know that

That’s you know it’s part and partial of the game you we have it sending off obviously uh that one one nil loss at Newport illustrates the point it left us firmly mid-table uh firmly mid-table in the away match table Nots County the only side in the top 13 with fewer away

Wins another particular stat only two sides have better have a better defensive record than rexam uh and remember five of the 16 goals we’ve conceded came in one game ick ick ick ick that was Stockport I believe was that Stockport however despite being fourth highest scorers in the league

Were equally lowest scorers in away matches we got to get this sorted out so uh even more strangely we managed to pull off some fine performances on the road this season victories at KN County and shuberry were memorable and we both won uh one and draw at Mansfield so our

Fures have been quite lopsided we played all but three of 14 sides away from home in the game at sof we Mark the first time we’ve traveled to any of the current bottom six Parkinson has plenty of experience in the situation so um you know we’re looking to do that so the

One uh with the signings of Jack Merritt in Fleetwood from Fleetwood toown he said um I’m gonna get his quote here which I thought was very interesting it would lead me to the next article he said um Rex completed the Jack Merritt from Fleetwood town uh late to the

Transfer window for an unders fee rexam sit second place in League 2 with 52 points with a game in hand with the leager stock stocko County who are who are 57 uh three go up in leag two here’s the interesting part three go up in League two so signing an additional

Striker you’d feel they have enough Firepower to ensure they are promoted uh to League one and back-to-back promotions Phil Parkinson will have his hands full and keeping the quality of Strikers he has on the books um on the books all happy but I’m sure Phil Parker arson and the hierarchy without taking

Their eye off the ball will be planning for the life in League one in the signing of Jack Meritt proves that his quality is League one level so uh they’re saying it’s an excellent excellent signing and then tomorrow getting back into this league we really got to push forward and really focus on

Getting ready for that League run league run so um I’m impressed with what we did uh I think it’s uh I think it’s very impressive uh you know Parkinson was also talking about this one’s in the leader and want to keeps that Feelgood Factor um I’ll get to that one in a

We’re all out we’re all out of the cups so our concentration is fully on the league exactly fully on the league um uh it would be would have been nice to to win and get Newcastle at home but that wasn’t the case the the main priority is now the league look everything happened

Like it would have been nice to have that one extra game uh I have do advancing and I said it like getting to the round five last year we get the round four um but you know now it’s like okay that’s done and dusted now it’s refocused get ready for that League push

Run it’s gonna be you know it’s gonna be a hard three months especially with February with um with so many games and so many away games so uh but the main priority is the league he said um so the league has been a bit stop and start

With having cup games but now all the games are going to be in the league so hopefully we can get a good run and go uh and go from there rexam will also aim to improve their away form during uh the business end of the season um uh

Although the Reds boast the best home record in the division results on the road have been less than impressive and Canon and Canon [ __ ] me and Canada is looking to put things right starting tomorrow southford City who are 19 minut standing listen Al for City are 19th um but you
