Back from Tournament of Champions so a little slower on some of them the fantasy Golf degenerates Link should be out today but yeah it’s a a weather filled week we’re going to see Sunday looks just insane at this tournament but we still got a lot to talk about I mean

It looks like the first three days should be okay so we’ll see how it goes I mean the first three days don’t really look okay I’m looking at it right now it’s going to rain the entire time versus Sunday and there and there’s flooding in the like up here there’s a

Flood warning for the area so they might not play like any of this tournament that’d be bad yeah it would be but it would be bad for the it’s funny because I was talking to uh a few people and they were showing me like the weather the past two weeks and it’s been

Immaculate not a drop of rain it’s always beautiful weather now we get here and it’s like an apocalypse so how do you approach this sort of week I mean I’ve made a lot of mistakes trying to figure out how to play the right weather Advantage I think most notably the year

That cam Smith won the PLAYERS Championship and just I ended up on the wrong side I kind of went all in on one side thinking I know knew something and then the moment that they delayed it for 6 hours and pushed the tea times back you know I didn’t know anything at that

Point no I was right there beside you so I remember that very well uh yeah anner Bon leiri and all the crew that were in the in the mix down the stretch it was tough scene but uh what do we learn from that is you should always stack some of

The other side because within that tournament Sky hul our boy Skyler posted it out it was like 7% stacked the wrong wave which was us all in on the the wrong wave and only like .9% stacked the opposite and then no other people did nothing and clear it was clear one way

Or the other looked like it would be good so I don’t know if that’s the angle here yet because I haven’t fully Dove deep into this weather and whatnot and obviously the course rotation I mean you’ll probably talk about you’ve talked about in your research show about the

Two course rotation versus the three Monteray Peninsula out the first two days flipping back and forth and then whatever happens with the weather for delays and whatnot but I don’t know how how are you thinking about approaching it I think it depend I this is one of

The weeks I know we kind of say this every week but like I stopped I made a few bets on the show with Jeff like I bet theala kittama and who’s the other loser I bet someone at 150 to one my mind is not work today no it wasn’t

That there would be maybe a slight advantage to playing the harder spy glass Hill in the crappier conditions because it’s a Parkway course it has a bunch of trees around it it’s the one that typically is less affected by the wind than Pebble Beach which is a golf

Wife tested for it she doesn’t have it but I got whatever she has right now my mind is just not working well I would want spy glass on the harder day if it’s windier but I it doesn’t look windy on Thursday but how many times have we seen

This 49 mile per hour wind on Wednesday night now we’re sitting there Wednesday afternoon it looks that way and then like we refresh at 900 p.m. in the evening and it’s all pushed to Thursday we seen it a bunch of times and there’s only 80 guys in the field so there’s no

Real wave Advantage it has to be a course Advantage yeah I agree that’s still defin good breakdown there and I was going to say that about the win that’s the only difference is like we were talking about this on the first look yesterday if you are looking at it

From that perspective the interesting part is just got to wonder what happens with that wind from Wednesday because it doesn’t look like wind will be the issue the first two or three days it looks like Sunday has insane winds but it’s like how wet it is the water the flood

Stuff everything’s talking about it like all that stuff coming in is more what it sets up like so I have to see who starts on what course but for now I got to approach as just you know try and see what the field is going to do and then

How we’re going to go up against that and beat it since we probably won’t have a good gauge of how this is going to work in terms of the wind in terms of the weather like that once the tournament starts and I mean we couldn’t control it anyway but

If they’re like oh yeah three- hour break and then they come back and the time that we thought they were going to play with like Mist going on or something like that in favorable conditions they come back in 3 hours and it’s you know water logged all of a

Sudden you get lift clean in replace in place but there’s a bunch of wind now all of a sudden like it’s hard to really factor that stuff in so I think I would just blindly do one build of the guys I like who are starting at one course and

Then do it with the other course and hope to get lucky yeah there’s that 5050 like I I just don’t know what the better one would be yeah you could definitely you know scale back your play if if you think that’s the case and then split it

How you want to split it if you think it’s going to be everyone’s going to do this and I want to do that do that if you think I I want to go with what everybody’s doing here with this because it makes sense to me for that do some of

That it’s not like copping out as much as it just does make sense in this scenario that’s what you would want to do how you’d probably want to a lot your money and split up your bankroll and then contest selection will be a big factor too obviously if you’re you know

In these large field lotteries probably want to take a little bit more chances on a week where it could go the other way and it’s not how often you’re right it’s how much you win when you are right so that would be the place to take that

Stand and do it so do you like weeks like this like do you feel like it favors you because you’re a good player and you can understand ownership you can understand contest selection how ownership translates from one to the other or are some of your advantages mitigated this week because it feels

Like more of a lottery than either that might be too tough of a question for this early but I do think it is uh it’s tough to say I don’t think there’s like some crazy Advantage no because like I said I’m just always going to I guess

For me it doesn’t really matter because I’m always going to air on the side of you know the opposite for the most case not just to be opposite but it’s like it’s we don’t know anything like everyone thinks they know it’s all but the picks and the plays and if I just

Get this guy right and it’s really not what it ever comes down to it’s usually something like a roster construction an angle and of attack or approach like we just talked about so I don’t know if it’s a crazy advantage or anything it’s still high variables tons of variables

In PGA DFS but I don’t mind a week like this where sort of everyone’s a little bit more afraid because I will just always go on the other the opposite side of that take more risks yeah what I’ve learned over the years when you get weather situations like this that all of

The group think ends up on like Five Guys from like a particular course from particular tea time being like well these guys got it the best and then their ownership is like 10% higher than maybe that you thought it was going to be I’m just going to fade all of those

Guys and play someone else I’m probably going to lose anyway I’m going to lose that way this time it’s it’s a good it’s a good way to do it definitely it’s a we just went through football footballs Zing oh you can’t play this guy in that matchup it’s the worst matchup it’s one

Game and he the guy could slip and fall he’s got an 80 yard touchdown it’s the same thing here it’s golf Anything could happen and you’re a guy that’s 25% own that you thought was like the lock button play because of this perfect weather spot and this perfect course

Setup it doesn’t work out and now that all those lineups that you have them in 40 50% of your lineups are all dead because you went way overweight on the wrong guy so how spicy do you get with lineups obviously a single entry to a

Three max to a 150 build is going to be if it’s 80 guys in the field and you play 150 lineups how many guys do you think you would play probably somewhere from 45 to 50 yeah especially with I spread it out I don’t care like everyone

Has their own way of doing it whatnot I just I’ve talked about it plenty of times it’s worked for me so uh I I will probably still spread it out especially though because if we’re talking something like the sets that I’m building in where you just mentioned it

That’s where people confuse it as well like oh he played everyone in the field no no no I play These Guys these guys with these lineups these guys with these lineups and again people say oh but you’re way underweight on so and so but let’s say let’s use Xander let’s say or

Sorry let’s use Xander yeah he’s going to be 20% owned 22% owned I only have 12% but all of my Xander lineups are six O’s meaning there’s six guys on this course at this time with Xander well I’m way overweight the field on Xander six and O’s and that’s what I was actually

Building for so I’m very comfortable with where I’m at and I’m not paying any rake or doing like oh you you way underweight on that guy I built in a very specific way it has nothing to do with what you’re thinking right now because what people want to do is click

Right we talked about I mean we got some strategy shows coming up we’ve done some strategy shows in the past it’s like that’s the angle of approach I think for a beginning player and I’m always trying to I want to help people play DFS I

Think PJ DFS is awesome I talk about get my dad into the one and done things like that like I want to get as many people involved as possible I think for a beginning player you know that’s probably playing lighter I say if you play lighter play tighter meaning get

Your pool figured out look for those spots to get leverage and overweight and all that you’re probably not going to that next level of looking at some of the stuff that I’m doing or building in sets or looking at angles of approach and what The Field’s doing so then I

Would say get leverage on the the guys that you’re playing so I’d probably tighten up your pool but for how I’m doing it that’s just why I said it that way is like obviously there’s going to be some stuff this week it looks like with weather course advantages where

They start all these things so probably a little bit wider pool when it comes to that and it’ll just be set up that way do you have a particular skill set that you want to Target here because I continue to Waffle between what I want

To do because we saw the US Open in 2019 under harder conditions but under harder conditions with all of the best players in the world all the guys who Bomb It Off the te played really well and that’s not usually what you see at this course

What you normally see at this course is everyone is kind of alive who can hit the most shots from 140 yards to 10 feet and make all the putts that is this tournament but do you think with the quality of player and the quality of field being so high versus your average

Tournament that maybe what we typically look at for a skill set isn’t actually the right thing like maybe we want Scotty I mean you obviously you always want Scotty but just like yeah he’s going to hit like 90% of Greens in regulation in these greens and even if

He three putts it’s not that big of a deal cuz everyone three putts here I was just going to say you you said the last time the latter part there is the key for that definitely the putting uh it you can be negated pretty quickly for a

Lot of guys anyway so who cares that a guy like Scotty or spe or sometimes have problems with their putter they can always find it and figure it out in a spot like this and then the other angle too is just the course history one like

A lot of people are leaning on that and going back to it but obviously the you I talked about this a ton last night with Kenny the C the strength of field is massively different you take someone like Jordan spe who has a great history

Here but then you look at the years he played there’s I think there’s 10 of the top 15 in DraftKings pricing that didn’t play once at all when he had those you know the win the second the third all that they none of those guys were in the

Field on top of the couple that were like the Max homas and the Sam Burns that played at one time or a couple times whatever it might be were this is like five years ago Max h four years ago Sam burns like they’re just way different players now and have got much

Better have put up tons of wins since Big Time wins things like that so it’s really a much different strength of field than what we saw here in the past so does that make you change your opinions on what we saw because the field is different because the only

Thing I would push back on that we’ve seen the Heritage be one of those event the signature event all the best players it’s like still kind of all the same guys at the Heritage yeah can happen for sure I just think that the problem is

When you got 15 I mean it’s going to be also too it’s a no cut stars and scrubs is always going to be a popular approach no matter what you’re going to see this 8K range go overlooked when we get to it it’s just the way it works even though

There’s good guys in there it’s CU there’s names in the sevens and sixes people can get to I still think that again when in the top 15 guys there’s like 10 of them that haven’t even played it or played it once back when it’s they’re going to come through these are

Still the best players in the best field they’re still going to show up I think so and little Notes too like we talked about Heritage last night actually was uh remember the year oh Cam young he’s a terrible fit for this course he sucks there’s nothing he could do here and

Then he finished third yeah well I mean if you just translate that what you just said to cam young every single tournament that’s probably probably what you want to do but like yeah so I forget who said it someone said about like ludvig at this course like uh you kind

Of takes aways that we saw last week he played well everyone thought the course set up well for him it was kind of you know a little bit of short putts and things like that they got him but he ended up still gaining say he he gained

Four more Strokes putting than Tony feno did the breakes here a little bit feno crushed over the weekend just without the putter everything about the putter so we’ll talk about him but yeah that that’s my point as I guess people then say but this course might not set up as

Well for a guy like him but it just as easily could right it very much could and if no one is playing him then I would go with it but if he like he would usually when that’s the case and we talk ourselves into this skill set or that

Skill set I do think that the big bombers generally have their biggest skill mitigated here but there’s two different factors at play one would be these Fairways in the proam setup are super wide they were condensed at the US Open that year so a lot more players who

Are shorter hitters missed the Fairway than they normally would at a tournament like this so even though the rough was longer just being further down in the rough was a huge Advantage versus being back because you can still hit your wedges out of it rather than hitting a

Seven iron something like that at this tournament and here becomes the tricky part the fairways are wide it has the highest proximity of any course on tour Pebble Beach that is cuz that’s the only one we have shotlink data from the proximity from the rough is the closest

To the whole of any course this rough is like nothing here but if it just pours rain the entire time we know that makes the rough way worse so do you know like switch back to being like well I need the accuracy guys like that this is

Where my mind has been going this week yeah it’s going to be soaked like you said it sounds like coming in either way so that you know we looked at that last week the rough can be tough to hit out of like they could definitely just

Switch back to what you said just look for those guys that find those Fairways can get their way up there they’re going to I mean the other thing too is the PIN placement still should be pretty easy for days at least one and

Two that I I mean I if I can ever get someone who’s played in one of these proam professionally on what I would want to ask them is like day three now there’s like day three at the MX Saturday so they don’t move the pins at all the first three

Days and when you see the guys at the Stadium Course for the American Express on Saturday the scores were way lower than the other two days but that’s the grouping that has all of the good players and it’s like Justin Thomas and Scotty Sheffer they’re all a part of

That wave that plays on Saturday that gets on TV that’s why they set it up that way but is there an advantage to playing it like you know people are walking around the hole maybe that’s a disadvantage but there’s a whole bunch of people who have read the putts you

Can go see the putts if you really wanted to scout it out time over time because that’s the only one that’s on TV it seems like it would be a huge Advantage uh if you got to play that the third day yeah it’s I I think it’s more

Of the the former like you said just all the better players that’s the thing like you on like last week you’re talking about it’s exactly it the TV time the Saturday the weekend spot it was all the best dudes what was it I think someone

Said it was a fair split it was still like six of the top guys were out there on that course so you’re going to see lower scores plus the guys get to you know beat it up I don’t know I think they just learn more over the time and

That’s why it becomes so much easier I expect it to be very similar here over the first two days and it’s wet you know it’s a a little bit of an advantage but for everybody so we could see a little bit of lower scores if you can just get

It in the Fairway find the green and then roll them in that that’s what we could see over the first two days and it might matter if Sunday for some reason can’t happen or gets pushed or whatever um I don’t know Monday doesn’t look that much better it’s better than Sunday but

It doesn’t look that strong yeah just just to look at the forecast and look at Monday and look at Sunday Sunday is worse but like Sunday looks unplayable like that’s what I mean right now it’s I know it sounds crazy we’re saying that but it’s just the facts and Monday you’d

Say okay well I’ll just move into Monday but Monday doesn’t look that much better yeah it’s going to rain all day Monday with an average wind of 24 maybe you’d have to go out and play it I would bet that if anyone is committed to the Waste Management Field and they weren’t like

In contention they might although I wonder if they have to finish to get their guaranteed money at this event don’t know how that one works but uh I looked at it and you know some of the top names maybe no but for the majority

A lot a lot of these guys are in the waste management I counted at least like 30 40 just scrolling through of the 80 I mean that’s still quite a few of the field when you think about it what’s going to be there on Sunday yeah they’re they’re really making a full-court press

Here over the next three weeks to really generate some Buzz for some of these tournaments this one next week has the Lesser field than Riv has everyone again and Tiger’s playing which is I hear always good for Ratings at his own tournament so let’s jump over to

Thing I would look at first pad is just like what when you just see the pricing when you just see everything like for example Eric Cole $7,300 I really don’t care that he missed the cut last week you would have to think people are fine

With him and taking the risk again at a no cut at $7,300 so like what does the lineup look like to you at least maybe he’s not in it for you of if people just looked at this pricing and said I’m going to build a good lineup it’s very

Soft pricing when you look at down the board like in the 6K Rangers guys whatever but I feel like JT Poston 7900 Max hman 92 Max hom 92 uh you know Cole 73 these guys feel like people would just click on them because their price I don’t know about Poston Cole I would

100% agree with and he should get a pass for last week like do we really think that Tory Pines is a good course for short hit and Eric Cole didn’t work out no didn’t work out cu it’s a terrible course for his skill set he should have

Been able to get the north come on that was a bad day it it was a bad day but but a guy can have a bad day that’s right like they’re not not everyone’s going to shoot 63 every single hey Johnny Vega shot Seven under at the North Course unfortunately he was six

Over at the South course yeah that one was close but that it’s almost mixed in with the the mindset narrative it happened for for morawa crushing after day one slip back day two didn’t work on day two as someone who has bet a lot of

Colin morawa over the years he has to be the most profitable round one Showdown player there you go you’d have to I just like he’s greats would have that information proba he is great in round one and he struggles in round two like the the amount of times I’ve had an

Outright bet on morawa and he’s within the top three after Thursday and just not there on Sunday yeah Po papao got welcomed into the world of one and done thinking thinking he was crushing with col Mora after day one on the North Course and then what happened to Colin

He says yeah that’s what happens dad so so yeah sorry for you but he had Xander the week Dunlap one so he was happy about that money trickling over to him yeah well I went through it there was 13,000 picks made so far through three weeks and only four people had Bez wow

Who was the only win technically so far because Dunlap didn’t get the money yeah that’s crazy so Cole and H 73 and 92 yeah I like that starting point what what other guys stood out to you I guess I mean we did the first look yesterday

To look at some of this pricing it is very soft like I said but who was there other guys that stood out the only reason I said post him was because if you look at his recent form it’s like third fourth and 11th or something or

Fifth nth and it’s very good off of that but I guess tougher field so it kind of makes sense who else was uh some of the guys that stood out to you Nick Taylor at 72 I like him at this course he just consistently plays this course well over

Time he has a win at this course and he’s playing some decent golf like he had a bad he had a bad run coming down the stretch to miss the cut at the American Express but he’ve been playing pretty well going into that benan but the thing is these guys don’t leap out

To me as like great values but I like their pricing like Ben an at 8,000 I like that but I think a lot of people will like it because the weirdest thing is and I I still can’t for the life of me figure this out why is everyone in on

Bo Hustler this week is he came through for them last week I think right yeah he was good last week and listen he’s played well at this course but he is priced amongst like real people here yeah we’ll see how that one if if it goes okay I’ve seen more conversation

Around a guy like Cam Davis where people feel comfortable getting four rounds from a cheap cheap Cam Davis like they don’t want to risk him when it’s only two rounds but when you know you’re getting four he’s popping off the as another guy at 6700 I’ve heard some

Glover love I heard I I saw a bit about Lee Hodges at 6,000 if it was me I would play Sheamus power at 6,000 hasn’t he been good here too he has been in his career just I he came back from injury he withdrew like two weeks ago and then

Like he was bad at Tory Pines but I don’t expect him to be good at Tory Pines anyway like I would like to see something but if he’s going to get all the the biggest problem with him where he is a bit of an injury concern is that

He might WD and then you’re absolutely [ __ ] yeah he’s he’s like the new uh I don’t know who we we’ve done this with different guys in the past Gary Woodland was one that we used to always do this oh it’s an easy course play I’m like oh

It’s a hard course you can play him because he grinds like he’s a bomber but he plays short course as well too yeah it’s like power has all of that that’s so we always bring it like it just gets brought up you could make a case for

Power any way you wanted to here if you if you wanted to but uh I saw a little bit more love for Cam Davis in that range Taylor makes a ton of sense at 7200 to your point there trying to see who else like Justin Rose at $7,500

I like last winner he did win here last year everyone seems to have forgotten that because he’s the same price as Denny McCarthy this week all the winners last year’s winner and then the four winners so far this season are in this field 7500 or less because Kirk is 7500
