Henrik Stenson and Ian Poulter join Jerry Foltz and Su-Ann Heng on Fairway to Heaven to discuss how their team is going to bounce back after a disappointing 2023 LIV Golf Season. Two of Majesticks GC’s three captains talk about the difference in strategy playing in a LIV Golf Event, which one of them is easier to caddie for, and the dynamics of having three captains on the same team. Su-Ann also finds out Henrik’s favorite karaoke song.

Ferrari and a Porsche and a Porsche and a a Porsche and a Porsche and a Porsche Porsche and a so you’re a Ferrari guy and he’s a Porsche yeah how many what’s plural for Porsche Porsches how many porschey got be different exactly yeah there’s a few you guys ever
Exchange cars no he doesn’t let me drive any of his cars why doesn’t well this is all good content well what the I mean like go okay they’ve been rolling the whole time I’m pretty sure they’ve been rolling the whole rolling the whole time Hey guys welcome to Fairway to Heaven a live golf podcast I am Su and hanging with me is Jerry F you love it you love hanging with me you I actually do not I hate that I’m being told to sit closer to you no you know you you looked
Reluctant but it was like a dream well this is our first onsite podcast I’m super excited we’re here in beautiful Maya COA it is gorgeous out the Sun is out we’re so excited to kickoff 2024 season we’ve got some new additions to the Le we do but it’s kind of sad
Actually starting here um because this is my happy place I’ve been here many many times my former job this place makes me happy but anyway if I go missing for like a year or two and you for some reason wanted to find me which I doubt is going to happen just start
Here first cuz I literally will just hide behind these Gates and live the rest of my life happily it’s it’s my happy place on Earth love it here yeah well John ROM just announced his team a couple of days ago Legion 13 worst kept secret in live golf history perhaps yeah
Well uh it’s a very solid team you’ve got John obviously and you’ve got Terell Hatton yeah that helps great partnership there with the rider Cup in etc etc they have Kieran Vincent they do of hardest work find other man bun yeah and Caleb Sarat Caleb Sarat who just under a year
Ago was a number one ranked amateur in the world somebody that John ROM handpicked and not only that after talking to some of the people behind the scenes with the clubs and these sophisticated organizations that are helping run the clubs and and build build these Brands um he was somebody
That even before he went to college was already being targeted by a lot of Manufacturers as this is the guy we want to sign someday yeah um so that’s I mean he the kid is extremely impressive we talked to his college coach yesterday and and what a wonderful story they had
To tell about what the great Kitty is and much they’re in support of him from the University of Tennessee and and they he said there’ll be more households watching CW this weekend than any other any other channel in Knoxville Tennessee that’s so true but also let’s talk about
Kieran Vincent right he’s been a pro for two years and then Caleb’s obviously just turned Pro and immediately be put on a league like live and on top of that have John Ron as his captain as their captain I mean how cool is that how I mean can you imagine can you imagine
Being Caleb and like we were talking to Brennan Webb the Head Golf coach at the University of Tennessee Head men’s golf coach and we’re like how how are you guys being so supportive when this is such a huge hit to your program and he said look kids come to college to get a
Job offer he just got the best job offer he’ll ever get it his entire life he gets to learn from one of the best in the game may go down as one of the all-time best in John ROM he gets to join this league and what it represents
And the excitement surrounding it and uh and he gets to play on on that team he goes he goes I can’t believe we’re even having this conversation Caleb this is this is a no-brainer you don’t need to explain it to me we’re behind you yeah I mean uh it’s pretty cool I’m really
Excited to watch him play actually and then we have Adrian Moran who also joined us we had Lucas herbet who also joined the Ripper team to complete the all Aussie all Ripper team and a guy whose personality fits that team perfectly cuz he’s just a fun guy yeah
And his caddy looks like he’s really fun too he got some funky glasses he’s you know I don’t know if he’s Rich enough to be called uh to be called eccentric yet it’s close yeah it’s it’s going to be so much fun and this year some
Changes I know we’ve got two wild cards um planing it’s a whole new yeah whole new uh whole new little aspect to it because with the 13 teams that would be 52 players we’d have two Tums out there and they came up with the idea and I
Think it’s a brilliant idea to add two wild cards so Hudson Swafford will be a wild card the entire we’re going to start the first two events with Lorie caner as a wild guard and then there is that that second spot will then evolve to uh either somebody from the Asian
Tour from the uh from the international series excuse me um earning their way into events and that that that position the number one on the Asian Tour rankings list will always have kind of an inside track to that second spot and that’s that’s really cool and who knows
Who knows what happens mid-season or halfway through we’re not done growing yet yeah I love the international series and I I think it’s such a great Pathway to live and it certainly has elevated the international series as well I mean you look at Andy olle tree who joined
High Flyers this year I think he’s going to be fantastic with that team I know we talked with um someone who’s from the team last night and he said you know Andy fits right into the High Flyers he has the same work ethic they align in values um so they’re really excited to
Have him on the team a few switches who were we talking to from the team last night you oh yes yes yes yeah yeah we had a really nice conversation about you know High Flyers and what they’ve done in the offseason in fact they’ve actually spent quite a bit of time in
San Diego Al together I think Phil had everybody come and and hang out which is really great to hear it’s you know it must be so cool Phil loves doing stuff without cameras around believe it or not he gets accused of just the opposite but he helps so many players be them current
PJ tour players who are struggling with something he’ll invite them down he’ll spend a day with them of his own time to help them out he he loves being that kind of Elder Statesman in the game right now yeah I’m also getting used to
Uh I was I’ve been trying to get used to got here on Tuesday um the different players with the different uniforms and the different hats Taylor guch Taylor car Verner Peter Uline yeah Peter is a goat it’s like he’s a goat he’s a goat yeah um who else
Matthew wolf is Wolf yeah so it’s it’s um getting my eyes MD gr McDow smash try to just get my adjusted I kind of see them I to look twice and like oh right they move teams and and I think so far all the trades have been great well I
Mean Bubba took a lot of grief for the trade I mean you trade away the number one guy in live golf 2023 um for Matthew wolf essentially uh on paper it doesn’t look fair but Bubba’s a really smart guy believe it or not behind that exterior and behind that you know Country Bumpkin
Kind of mentality or look that he gives us there’s a there’s a smart business guy behind that and he knows that Taylor gu played great Golf and probably will continue to play great golf but Matthew wolf hasn’t played his best golf and his best as an upside is it much I mean just
Now turned 24 I think he has an enormous upside to really pay dividends for the range goats and uh and I think he’s in the right place with Bubba they they can talk at a language we don’t we don’t quite have haven’t had the life experience to to need to understand yeah
For sure and uh one of the other changes this year uh to the league is uh four scores are going to count on the Sunday about time huge that’s going to change so much when it comes to the team aspect less what it changes there it just makes
Our jobs easier I know well we we were talking about this um in our production meeting we haven’t had a team playoff no not yet um I feel in my personal opinion that four rounds counting on Sunday is going to bring a playoff at some point well statistically it’s it’s it’s
Overdue like one of my library books when I was in college but it uh it yeah it I think it increases the chances for a team playoff which would be so so incredibly exciting but uh yeah because that’s the part we haven’t gotten to see right who does the captain pick who does
The captain pick they’re going to pick yep exactly pick two players to go represent the team in a best ball or I think it’s agregate actually aggregate uh individual two scores count yeah four ball yeah it’ll be fun uh anyways we have two very special guests joining us
Today uh we’re going to chat with them in just a little bit but uh yeah I’m excited for this season the sun is out we’re in beautiful Maya Koba you’re happy place the only time we ever see Jerry ever happy which is very rare you guys enjoy Vegas I’m staying right here
I’ll just do the broadcast remote remote remote exactly well today we’ve got two of the three captains of the Majestic 6gc we’ve got Henrik sansen and Ian poter joining us here in mayakoba hola amigos how’s your Spanish guys yeah it’s a little little limited but I know a few words and
Um I guess I guess a few of them uh the pimento pimento that’s pepper right pimo sure Pento Sal oh that’s a yeah I guess it is Sal Sal and Sal and pimo I believe kaco is that not a horse oh I didn’t know that bit of salt on the horse yes there
You go perfect salt on the horse that Peppa I I know where the direction this is going south quickly isn’t it yeah um well we’re going to open up with you know I think you guys been asked this quite a bit but we’re going to ask it again podcast I think you are
Yeah I am okay um you know last year wasn’t a great year for the Majestic thanks we’re leading with that yeah holy Christ I thought this was 2024 new season new hopes they just did a the did a whole retreat at the at the poter estate that’s the whole idea with 31st
Of December you can let go of what was last year now we looking ahead but no I I hold on absolutely right you know you’re absolutely right we were into it there we go let’s talk about the shitty season we were 11 we were 11 out 11th
Out of 12 right yeah so we got Great Hopes now if we can stay the same 11th out of 13th is actually going to look a lot better right so that’s kind of that’s kind of how we look at the Future No my question to that
Was what was the plan for the Majestics this year like what was discussed in the off season how are you guys looking to improve for us to spend a bit of time in Orlando and kind of dive into a bit more of the business side of Majestics statistics side of majestics
Um and really kind of pull apart what was last year and what do we need to do moving forward because if we do the same as we did last year in preparations and everything then you’re probably not going to expect to get any better results right so um you know we all sat
Listened to James and and the stats guys that have you know helped take a proper dive into those areas is that we can make improvements on and you know we actually had some some you know very good parts of all of our games so if you blend all four of us
Together it’ be a hell of a hell of a gol you might find one decent player if you combine the four of us so look it you know and and again it’s always good to sit back and and and you know review a business in in that way and you know
Work out what we all need to do to to have a better business our business is obviously on the golf course I think think we did a great job commercially bringing on good sponsors good partners um so from that aspect of who we are at Team Majestics
We we’re really proud but now we need to back it up on the golf course um and and and do a bit of a better job we all know what we need to do um and it was good to film it right I
Mean it was it was fun I mean we had a decent week um given you guys and the fans a little look into a great look in it was very well done you guys did a great job so did you change your preparation and I mean you guys aren’t new to this you
Guys have prepared for Seasons your whole career play left-handed this year yeah I am actually like every other season but um and his underwear I think first he was the first to do that by the way I mean looking at looking at the season and just kind of looking at the
The way the team formats is is set up I think we need to try and obviously get another another good score in there at least every day right cuz I think we’ve been a pretty stable arguably one of the more stable teams I guess out there but too steady
If he shoots 71 I shoot 71 Lee shoots 70 uh like if that’s three four five on the par combined between the three of us uh you know another team might have nean might shoot five or 600 on his own if he has a good day so then kind of what what
The three of us did gets equaled out by one of the other ones and then they got two more scores to count on that team and you know Sam had had some injury issues and and he was away for almost half of the Season all half of the
Season pretty much so you know we got obviously expectations on on Sam having a good year and and the three of us need to need to up our game and play better than than we did and we know we can do that and but also kind of looking at
What aspects of our games that’s what we did on the stat side do we all need individually to try and improve and where’s the kind of easiest gains the low hanging fruits to try and try and gain half a shot there or a quarter of a
Shot there so it’s it’s a combination of things and then you know without spilling the beans too much cuz I don’t think that’s been announced but there there could be some changes going into Sunday as well right on all four scores counting I believe it’s now announced
Yeah is that announced so we’ll be by the time this STS yeah so in that sense I think that could be could be a benefit for us as well being a steady team you know you can’t really afford to have anybody have a bad Sunday if you want to
Do well so um steadiness might come in more on the Sundays than it does for the first three days so various you know things that if if we kind of put them all together hopefully we can we can have a strong stronger performance I’m just curious with with what you’re
Mentioning you know you guys did a review and some stats and all that stuff what was highlighted in in those stats in terms of areas to improve I know it’s all individual but kind of generally what was it specifics needs specifics specifics look for for me it was you
Know 150 to 225 proximity with um with going into the greens uh that area wasn’t good enough from you know 1 130 in was good 99 and lower great and then anything above that into the greens my proximity wasn’t as tight as what it needed to be so you
Know reh having a look at um you know simple things like you know Loft and lies on my clubs making sure there wasn’t anything around there um I thought the Easter fix would have been to just put all wedges in though wouldn’t it if you’re good yeah
Yeah it would have been awesome if I drive it as far as Bryson but I don’t um trying to hit two more Fairways around okay I drive it okay but if I can if I can have two more goes from the Fairway proximity to the pin you know from the
Fairway for us was good right so like just give yourself an extra chance so again you know work hard on driver p statistics again it’s a funny one because you know we’ve all again we all have these little you know Tendencies and it’s hard sometimes when you see the
Stats is to try and work out why why why your pting from 8 feet wasn’t as good as your pting from 12 ft for instance so it was breaking it down into segments of where was your pattern really strong where was your pting week where do you
Need to have a little bit more emphasis when you’re doing your practice so Pace pting from 50 ft if you take that as a proximity of a 3 foot gimme from 50t how many parts did I have from that range that were outside of that of that gimme
Range right so I had a couple of three puts last year um so you know it was it was quite an indepth statistical breakdown to look at to try and give us those areas of practice what do you need to what do you need to do in in your weeks off leading into
Tournaments why do you need to hit two more stairways okay this this is why why do you need to work on this end of the golf bag rather than the lower end of the golf bag so you’re always going to have certain distances where you like one say 140 to
175 or 180 or whatever there’s like you have a lot of approach shots in that category so if you’re if that’s not a strong area you’re going to gain more by upping that then saying like Okay you’re not great from 50 yards but you might
Have one shot every week from 50 Ys or you know whatever it might be so it’s also seeing what impact you can get on on that putting short putting is kind of an interesting one CU if you take Z to three fet if you’re 50th out of all the
If you’re virtually worse you might just like it might be they miss one three-footer the whole season and of course it’s going to be detrimental if you’re in a in a good position where it really matters but otherwise you might pick up much more gain by upping your 8
To TW to 12 Footers or something like that so it’s all those things as well you got to you got to look into so I feel like we had a a really deep over Overlook on it and everyone kind of have their little short list on things that
They’re working on and for me uh had some distances for sure with the putting as well where I have could make some easy gains if I improve there and and then I I know like my wedge my full gap wedge and my small pitching wedge kind
Of R in in that area have some spin issues and and some yardage control issues I would like pretty solid on on a few distances and then I had 125 to 150 yards was kind of my problem area and then I was good again so you really good
Long range really good long range yeah so then that would be like one specific where I can Target that and I I I actually knew that one kind of before cuz to get to 125 that’s a full gap wedge for me and then I have a spin
Issue so then I would have to be accurate with a with a little chippy wedge instead and then you might not always feel d bring us bever you do anything for you oh look at this look at you like one you guys no I’m
Good I got a water got got I got some work to do in a minute they’re serious about this some of work this is work actually for yeah it looks it looks really hard no good for my putting stats right there oh no it makes everything better might make you
Better know we haven’t tried that one well I wouldn’t encourage you just this is a more of a desperation move than a a proven practice regimen dois dois yeah it’s good usually with a little salt on the rim beautiful yeah no yellow no ice Charles how on this very
Podcast brought up a really great point that hadn’t really crossed my mind but it it’s something I know that you guys will have an opinion about because live golf and the structure of it is so much different to the type of golf the traditional Tour golf be European or DP
Or PGA Tour that you guys have played your whole career there’s 14 events there’s 13 individual events when you’re playing on the PJ tour or the DP World Tour and you you don’t have it that week or you don’t have it for a little stretch you know there’s tomorrow you
Know that I mean there’s times when you just might want to mail it in if you’re missing a cut you don’t care you want to you know you want to get ready for next week here you show up to 13 3-day events and you got to find a way to get it done
Whether you like it or not if you don’t have your best stuff does that just I mean bring a whole different Dynamic to the mental approach you take to each week yeah I mean it’s it’s definitely been something when you played golf for a long time which we
Have sure you can feel your way into some tournaments and you like you just don’t have that luxury when you play 14 times 13 times and with no cut so the no cut situation frees everyone up because it’s way more aggressive from that first t-shot yeah you’re you’re much better
Off playing poorly for three tournaments and having a top three than playing steady for all of the events right okay so you can be more aggressive but that doesn’t generally lend itself to how we’ve always taught ourself to play golf we’ve always kind of again Lee Henrik
And I have been very consistent in our in our games so again there’s a little bit of a mindset tweak you know there um and again we spoke about that in in our Camp Confidential we we need to be more aggressive from the get-go we need to be more aggressive to certain
Pin locations we need to not necessarily take way more chances but be sensible with it um and and and have a different approach and see if if that changes and you know you’re right you’ve got to be ready to play golf every time you don’t have the feeling
Of oh it’s okay I’m going to play next week and the week after and and fill your way into a three tournament swing like you know there’s a number of times where we’ve got backto back weeks yeah but also you’ve got other events this year where we’re going to
Have a few weeks off and play one and then a couple of weeks off so it’s it’s about learning and understanding the gains that we all need the the 1% you if we can pick up one or two% in certain areas but be ready to perform when it’s go time so in those
Weeks leading in have we done enough homework on the golf course do we know exactly what we’re coming to and what type of shots and what type of conditions are we going to get when we get there so hopefully our practice schedule leading in in that
Week prior um is going to give us that opportunity you know I’ve I’ve made a change caddy wise I have you to um to be able to have um a friend on the bag David Clark I’ve known him for a long time caded for a load of guys and um the
Switch up there really was Terry’s Cad and for Sam for half the time like he CED for me half the time and I had James on the bag to do the other half James has gone to work for Richard Bland fulltime Terry is going to do half the
Schedule with Sam which is great for Sam but I’ve taken the ability to use David in Liv’s 15 minutes down the road from us in Orlando and we can work closer in those weeks off so leading into tournament weeks hopefully preparation wise I you know I would think I’m more ready that’s
The goal is to be to be ready to go to perform at a higher level yeah well Lord’s on your bag how long’s he been on your bag Henry well we did uh was it six years from the beginning of 13 until the end of 18 and then he came back when was
It at the end kind of fall of 21 I think so yeah so we’ done almost 9ine years together I think so it’s it’s been a long and good relationship yeah how important because watching you a few times last season and your relationship with him in certain moments were really
Crucial you know with your communication with Gareth how important is his role in your sort of playing time out here yeah I think for every player you know when you have a long-standing relationship you get to know each other you you kind of figure out the best the
Best kind of way to to operate and work together and when you when you have someone that you’ve you work with that long you trust and a lot of things becomes automatic and and you don’t even think about that you’re doing them but we kind of have a structure how we go
About things before hitting shots and you know if you’re under pressure or you get distracted in some shape or form then that’s when you want to have that routine and and someone that that’s with you so make sure it’s like if I miss something or if he were to miss
Something then the other one would pick it up it’s it’s rarely that the both of us are like not thinking about all the stuff that needs to be in there so uh yeah good working relationship is is definitely important and that could be the the deciding factor when you come
Down the stretch if you if you can stay to your routines and and and make sure you you make the right decisions at at The crucial times you’re you’re known as a little more of an introvert than Ian is Ian is very much an extrovert a myth
Very very you’re also not very much appreciated for your sense of humor I know you keep Gareth in stitches a lot of times and he’s an extrovert as well which which one of you two would you would you say is an easier guy to caddy for because some of my favorite stories
From caddies on on tour and on the various tours are some of the people you think are the nicest guys that are real jerks to cadd it’s probably Henry because his bag generally every week gets lighter as he he goes through there’s not as many clubs in the bag
He’s broke them and thrown them away I was going to say what does he do when you snap those clubs like does he ever say anything to you or no no no no no no wrong that’s also that’s also very like well oiled Machinery cuz it just he
Travels with a backup set just in case he did back in the day but not not anymore I’m older I’m I’m calmer but occasionally it’s and just like two pieces it’s almost like but then it’s over it’s behind you yeah yeah yeah absolutely it’s happened a few times so
Don’t do that kids have you ever broken a club in competition yes okay on out of anger same as kind of the way Henry does it or I would I would say I’ve grown up a lot there are a few that will argue that I don’t know we might argue on that but
Yeah I I just hope I never grow up yeah yeah growing growing old is mandatory growing up is optional yeah sounds good yeah take it from an old guy you shut you’re right to to be uh serious about it I think there’s there’s a few guys out in the in the
Professional world that uh you might not think that they they’re going to chew chew the caddy up as much as they shots the wor I hope I hope I’m fairly you know I expect a lot from myself and and therefore I think I expect a lot from
Others as well but I hope I’m not one that would be considered unfair if you know if I if I be upset with someone that works for me there should normally be a reason for it not not just because I woke up on the wrong side but there
Are some silent assassins out there that no one really knows how bad they are it’s amazing we could have this conversation off camera it’s amazing I don’t want to anyone under the such nice people you think but between shots they are just complete All Souls to their CES swear on
This podcast by the way absolutely yeah and not just the men I’ve seen it from the female side as well a couple times oh yeah yeah this would be an interesting conversation off camera I think you should get a few caddies and ask them but see they they don’t they
Never spill the beans they don’t want to go in public only in private we get all the stories from them in private they’re our best source of information yeah um you guys quickest way to p45 that it yeah see you you guys your team you I
Mean this year feels for Liv and this isn’t supposed to be just a big you know grandiose uh PR magazine for live golf but this year feels like all right this is real I mean the teams are taking shape the clubs are you got a room full
Of people in there on their computers extremely bright human being in the industry really really building these Brands and building the the clubs and the teams and uh your team was the first you guys started in London 2022 with a team in place you guys had all three
Already bought in matter of fact there was a conversation with you and Lee in uh well you weren’t there yet but you and Lee at at the welcome party in London were the team aspect actually hit home with me because it was so foreign to me at the time you guys bought in
Quickly and and completely um number one one is it is it rewarding to see how quickly this has grown from a team standpoint and is is it uh why were you guys so quick to buy in I think if if you have smart people around you that
Can evaluate what live is from a business franchise opportunity um it’s it’s easy to understand I think you know Lee Lee’s been around long enough Henrik has multip businesses I’ve had numerous businesses I’ve had businesses with uh Team principls so you know I’m I’m I’m not the smartest out
There I left school at 15 but you know to to help having good people around you to brainstorm talk about what the opportunity could be you know this this model works and I think look we we’re all really impatient but atast we’re all really impatient no but like you can’t forget
Where where we’re at we’re 20 two tournaments in to a startup business of which the business is a global business MH and 13 franchise teams and we find ourselves not even two years on and A lot’s happened and a lot CH has changed in the game of golf and it will continue to
Change which we’re seeing on a daily basis right those changes I think are are good for golf in the bigger picture um eventually will be yes it eventually will be so you know we we definitely saw it from a business sense and an opportunity sense to to to want to
Become a you know a good franchise so as good as we want to play as a team to be to be up there as as close to the top of the board as well you you you’ve still got another business to think about you know not
Every single team in the NBA not every single team in the NFL make it to Super Bowl but yet they’re a successful franchise business not every team in Formula 1 ever gets to a position where they’re obviously fighting for the championship but they’re a successful team so there’s there there’s definitely
More more to it than just just winning and you know it it is a business it is a is a growing business it’s something that we’re going to have to work with and the challenges are in there for us to to work through you know we need collectively as live every franchise to
Bring in more Partners more sponsors the corporate world that we live in today of of of sponsorship is slowly coming round and more and more news that we get out then you know they’re going to start coming in so I you know I think we’ve done that’s probably our proudest thing
We’ve done of Team Majestics is is how well we’ve done with sponsors bringing bringing sponsors on board right because you guys have four right right now you have four and I’m sure that’s going to continue growing and I think part of what you guys do so well which as part
Of your business is the initiative uh little sticks that you guys are very involved in you know can you guys maybe I know you guys are doing a little bit differently this year there some new stuff happening with little sticks could you share a little bit more about
That yeah I mean uh initiative that we can that that with with Jordan and and and the other on the on the team they’ve really put like a a very good foundation in place there’s been some like pilots and test runs and different initiatives uh both in the US and and predominantly
In England as of now where it’s something you can take to schools and and Sport organizations and so on to justum yeah to to give you know use the sport of golf as a as a learning tool and and uh you know to to really learn life skills and and anything from being
A teammate to to the important things in that you can learn from the game of golf and you know all all these things kind of put together in a really smart way and we were as you as you probably saw from the from the little Clips there
That we were we were doing some of the showing kind of the the games and the competitions and so on there so we were running around with with some plastic Club and different things as well so it’s it’s really well done and and that’s something that you can eventually
Like really upscale in in many different parts of the world and in many different ways so uh we’re not trying to bring on new tour players but the the game of golf touches so many so many more than than than just good golfers it it really
Is a vehicle for us to to help all types of people enjoy the game of golf and give them an opportunity to you know um not get stuck in their normal way of schooling or it’s it’s the curriculum is is really based for them to have fun and
A different life skill and a different challenge for them um and it’s it’s been rewarding to see some of the feedback already for kids that have been through a you know a six- week pilot of it and the teachers that are there to help assist the kids through that program
Have really seen an uptake in their concentration in their activities and everything that goes around the curriculum that you know Jordan has kind of designed for it it’s it’s it’s very cool to see so you know hopefully we can get it into more schools hopefully we
Can get more teachers to take it on board and hopefully we can roll it out you know around the world yeah I was actually I got to to host one of their clinics in Orlando last year and Henrik was in a a full one of those velcro
Suits I think think yeah we were both in actually he started in it I think and then I got to take the sweaty suit on as as the second guy and then it was it was pretty hot in that in that thing it wasn’t much air con in that one
And and uh yeah they were they were firing the velcro balls out but it was the most fun I’ve seen your entire team kind of have outside the golf course they were no there was probably included the golf course given I play right because I know you guys both have your
Own individual Charities right so how did it kind of how did you end up with little sticks and the idea of little sticks I think that was a natural thing for for the team to to kind of and I think you’ll see that with all the with
All the teams that they will they will kind of find their own kind of Niche and find their own charity uh going forward and and I’ve said that before I think golf is is spectacular in that sense and looking broader now than than what we do
Here with our team and in live and so on like the PDA to all de world is like initiatives from golf around the world has been I don’t know if there’s any other sports that that do more for for charity than we do in golf all other sports combined don’t equal don’t equal
Golf don’t equal just a PGA Tour much less golf in general yeah so I think we we should all like no matter no matter where you play we all have been involved in in so many different whether you have your own foundation and charity or you’re supporting your colleagues and
Other things that that from outside of golf and so on so it’s like it’s I think that’s something that that golf has been really really good at and uh we’re obviously continuing with with our own here and you’ll see the other teams roll out their stuff I think in the near
Future I got one question for each of you but I’m ask ask you to answer it about him and vice versa if you don’t mind his win last year at Bedminster probably even in Camp Confidential James hinted at it but maybe the most underrated untalked about an impressive
Win I think in our in our in our early creation here uh after everything he’d been through he’s quite stubborn is that Henrik he’s he’s quite he’s quite good as well so um you know having having the Ridder cup captaincy pulled from him um you know only only he will know really
How much that would have been hurtful uh in the way happened and and we don’t need to go into the details but um we’re allowed we’re allowed to cuss on this because it was complete but it was um you know but to have you know to have
The the tenacity to put all that to one side and um you know there there was a lot of I think there was a lot of you in in that finish there was definitely some of that and it was it was good to see because that’s that’s
That’s who we have as a as a partner and a co- captain in in team Majestics um and and it was it was really impressive to see yeah it was really impressive your question about him Ian was I mean he was serving an apprenticeship working at a golf telling Golf Shop telling
People he wanted to go play pro golf if they could just see him now I mean see everything he’s accomplished and see his business acument and the the lifestyle and the life leads and has provided for his family but tell us a little bit about what has
Made him so successful in your mind because you were told your whole I mean time growing up you’re not good enough you’re not you’re never going to make it and well you you I think you kind of answered it yourself there I mean that that’s do you need any more information
If you’re if if you’re also if you’re also stubborn and you’re you’re a great competitor if someone tells you you can’t do it you want to show them the opposite and I think that goes for for both of us that like you want you want to prove someone wrong then and I think
That’s the that’s where you get the the kind of fire and motivation and and absolutely I mean we’ve you told me the story about when when you guys went to ride a cup at the belfrey right and you were you were tenting in someone’s Garden you were washing your socks in
There in the like in the sink uh like yeah certainly I mean I’m I’m not I’m not coming from uh from big houses and and and fancy cars but I mean like washing your socks in in someone’s someone’s uh outdoor kitchen or whatever and go watch in tent that going watch
Prob yeah I mean that’s camping out to be able to to do that it’s it’s kind of shows you where where he started and and where he’s come to and correct me if I’m wrong but that that’s why you you kind of you enjoy all the all the good things
In life cuz you you work extremely hard to get there and then uh yeah it’s it’s been an impressive journey and like I say starting from selling Mars Bars in a pro shop to to the career he’s had to date it’s uh yeah I mean we all been
Very fortunate to to do these kind of Journeys and got lucky got lucky yeah it’s more than luck right I don’t know if it’s luck you kind of make your own luck you’ve never rubbed anybody’s face in it either you’ve never you’ve never said to all those people who doubted you
Back then F you um you’ve always taken the Upper Road and that’s uh that’s not easy it it’s uh um you know sometimes you have to sit back and pinch yourself in in the journey that’s been and you know I never knew what was possible because there was never this
You know this kind of this road that was ever going to leave you lead you on this journey but it was more of a point that I always thought well if he’s doing it what makes me any different to SEI or falo or any of these guys that
Have just worked really really hard and been really successful at the game of golf and so it was naivity in some respects of what you would have had to put in to get out the reward on the other end um and I mean it’s it’s been it’s been a long
Journey and it’s been a lot of hard work and hundreds of thousands of balls and you know doing stuff sometimes that you don’t enjoy doing but the rewards on on the ultimate end have been beyond what I could have ever ever imagined you know when I sit back and think about
Opening the shop at 6:00 a.m. get guys in out in the golf course at 10 six you know it’s um it’s all worth it the Journey’s been yeah and pretty cold why you in the UK where it’s freezing yeah it’s not quite this weather in the UK
Especially not now but um and I mean yeah winning golf tournaments and all the good stuff that goes with that but but also sitting looking back even though we we still got a few years on on our careers he still looking back at that journey and to to have travel the
World to been to all these places and and met so many people and seen you feel like you kind of get to experience you know what anyone would live in three lifetimes we we’ve done that in 25 years as touring professionals around the world and it’s uh that’s pretty cool to
Look back on as well now one of the words that both of you have used so far is the word stubborn the Majestics you guys are unique in comparison to the other teams because you have three captains you both have used the word stubborn and then you have Lee who’s
Also very experienced and been around for a long time how’s that Dynamic having three captains in one team and who makes makes decisions and how does how complicated is all that because each of you are stubborn apparently so I think it’s a good Dynamic we kind of make that make that work between
Us I think that’s I’d actually say behind closed doors we’re quite levelheaded from a business sense yeah you know we’re quite calculated we you know we we’ve got a great group of people around us that understand business a lot better than we understand business so you I think we I think we
Sit back and take quite a bit of advice and Good Counsel on I mean thinking of it now I can’t really I can’t really come up with one situation where there’s been like any heated discussions and someone wants to go north someone wants to go west and someone wants to go south
It’s all kind of heading in the same direction for the most part and like whenever I think if you get like like Ian says if you get presented with like an option or two options and there’s like you look at the you just like make a calculated decision on on what’s in
Front of you and and we kind of coming from it’s been pretty it’s been pretty seamlessly absolutely streamlined from from a business sense I would say behind the scenes you know it might look quite complicated when you’ve got you know it’s like now I mean we’re two captains here now one is already
Gone next time it might just be me so he’s like I might be able to get lose one here and there and before you know it it’s just I think we have a nice Dynamic to be honest because we can actually lean on one another on times as well so from a from
A corporate standpoint from a sponsorship standpoint from a from an experience standpoint you we don’t have one captain that has to you know ask you can share the burden three other players in his team to to come and talk or entertain or do something like we we
Live in orando under both of us in the same neighborhood as you know and then Lee is over in England and S spends a good time in England too so so we can if there’s stuff like that we can kind of share share UH responsibilities as well
Quite easily yeah you had the longest construction of a new house in Lake Nona history probably well how long did it take we had like some protected bird in a tree years four and a half years what kind of bird was it bald eagle bald eagle yeah yeah there’s no such
Concial house for four years yeah he was watching over us speaking of um you guys living the same neighborhood we’ve had some new additions on Liv and one of the names who live in your neighborhood is Terell Hatton I’ve heard that you guys have done a little practice together on
The Range not together but together has there been any talk any banter any of that stuff couldn’t imagine that I could listen as as a newbie in live and as someone that’s joined a great team um you know fellow Rider cuper in John RAM and um you know T T’s a great addition
To live um I think John was you know extremely Keen to bring him on board because he knows who he is extremely well and obviously from a rder cut partner what what he would add MH um so this being a very much you know team environment you know John John was
Certainly Keen so there’s no banter there hasn’t been enough time I mean as we know on his face know he bullshitting there will be some practical jokes I promise you there hasn’t I mean obviously look TR had a decision to make and you know I think I mean we we sit here on
Wednesday and I don’t I mean I think think the Ink’s probably still wet on the paper yeah so that there really hasn’t been enough time to have any ban I think now now it’s for real for TR you know we we knew what we were coming into
And uh I guess when we signed we actually kind of didn’t quite know what we were getting into and but but TR could have seen that so look over over the course of this year I think you know now we’ve got a we’ve got another fellow European that lives
Inside the game you know we’ve got GMAC on Smash and so we we got a nice little Collective and uh inside the gates on different teams which is TR travel wise is obviously quite quite you’re not going to let him on you guys as plan are
You he might if he sweet talks enough he might he might be able to join might let him make the coffees and service drinks well you got you got Charles Howell Sam they’re on the other side of town and then we got four players at Lake Nona in GMAC and
Yeah travel terms is really efficient right we know what time we’re going to get to a tournament and we know when we’re going to be leaving so from a travel perspective yeah yeah there’s no waiting there’s no waiting for you’re all done at the same time I don’t know
If that was the main reason for him going but obviously conveni convenient travel might have been one of them but he he of course he would he would kind of ask around and see what we thinking and you know how how we found found it
To be out here and so on but ultimately it’s not our decision to make make right he uh we we could just Supply him with some information when he was asking so I think the rest of the naysayers will be waiting a long long time till they hear
The first live player say they regretted coming here I haven’t even seen it yeah I don’t know AG great I owa of that kind of sentiment I don’t ever see it happening are you going to do your quick chat use say they they’re both quite pranksters yes I know and so I’m really
Looking forward to some social long well it’s the off season so you have been no no we’ for a couple years on camera then we say that at least we we got to do one each to each other this year then in 24 season you got to prank me once and I
Got to get you back or bu need be on camera too yeah and we need we need to get something cooking here cuz it’s been he’s already got it is it’s been too long now listen let me tell you he is the sest of SES that ever is on pranks and
He might he might look like he’s not focused he is 100% focused on every opportunity he can Poss we get he just gave me the eyee and that’s the look that kind of screamed prankster I think I think not often you see fear in his
Eyes but when it comes to pranks I think he almost feels like he’s he’s found his match here I’ve definitely found my match but I I was willing to go maybe a step too far last time and um I was more in fear of of Mrs ston start like going into trying to
Repaint someone’s house P when when they away and when he come back from would have pitched up and his whole house would have been pinked oh that would have been so epic I probably would I probably would have been laughing but I know someone who wouldn’t soic you would
Have been out there with like the rollers the next day s would have been seriously pissed yeah so it wasn’t I wasn’t worried about him because I actually think he quietly inside would have gone Okay g that’s actually pretty good he would have liked it all right
Well this is no I’m going to put you guys in the hot seat for a quick just uh three questions both of you can answer it um the fun ones have have feel free to you’re not fun at all so it can’t be that fun um all right so both of you are
Parents what’s the one thing the one single most important lesson that you want to teach your kids everything on Tik Tok is not true really you’re absolutely right yeah you’re absolutely right um respect mhm politeness I think Take it Back to Basics yeah you know the world we Liv in today is is
Is yeah is what what you see and sometimes what you see on a is is is not for real right so um you know always always trying to keep it level I mean we we live in a fairy tale kind of environment your kids your kids grew up in a fairy tale environment
For and and that’s that’s why I think it’s always good to to try and you know I definitely spoil my kids because I want to give them what you all the things that I never had when I was growing up but I also want them to understand and
Respect um everything and let them understand the reasons why MH um hard work yeah so so I think they’ve been pretty grounded along the way um what about you Henrik yeah I think it’s all along the same lines you know you I think it’s always a good if your
Kids are away with a friend or you know staying over at someone’s house or whatever and then come back oh they were so well behaved and then it’s like okay I know they not always do it at home but if they can behave when they’re away
That’s always a good sign so you feel like you done something right then as as parents so uh but all yeah basics I think it’s is always going to be good all right fun question number two do you need a napkin now if you were stuck on an
Island which teammate would you want to be stuck with and why that actually is a fun one at least we could prank each other I I’ll pick I on oh he’s not picking you no clearly not it depends what’s on the island just a freaking Island man I’m no you
Got you got a marina you got Golf Course jet skis everything five star Chef you I mean listen of course not it’s like a deserted island deserted island yeah I’m going to say Henrik for the simple reason he’s absolutely batshit crazy and if it comes I’m not good with creepy
Crawly things and animals without shoulders and like snakes that’s a prank idea for you right there so like this Darth prick would quite happily grab hold of a gator has basically he says that he would like me to take care of him on the deserted island treat him
Like a princess and he’ll be all right I’ll bring him coconuts every morning okay C the gator I’ll happily cook it for him no problem but a little salt a little pepper all right now if you were to have a superpower what would it be be invisible you didn’t take any time you’ve
Obviously thought about how good would it actually surprising as hell I know how good would it been you spend your whole life not being being out there and and you you don’t hide from anything I didn’t think so I think I thought he would have said he wanted to be seen
More I would go flying I think yeah be able to fly that would be yeah all right lastly go to karaoke song I can’t sing for that’s the whole I’m not I’m not that actually is a country song I can’t sing for I believe I’d go um because I I think I
Know quite a lot of the lyrics to you two with or without you oh but we’re not going to hear that here oh that’s for another episode you did the you did the best Tik Tok thing with that what was that song with the with the trophy with the
Uh that YouTube thing that took off with the with the grape juice challenge or whatever it was yeah yeah that was awesome thunder only happen when it’s ring oh uh who sang that thunder only Ste ma yeah Ste yeah dreams dreamss dreams she wrote that in 10
Minutes very good anyway on that note thank you so much for Jo us for another season for a better 2024 season success yes success well good luck this week guys thank you and uh look forward to watching watching you guys play and maybe the newer version of the Majestics yes yes

Great podcast, thanks. 1 sleep to go
Great show
Don’t really care, take your money and be gone and stay gone.
Henrik Stenson and Ian Poulter are legendary golfers in Europe. I can't wait to watch them progress as a team this year. 👍
Love to LIV
The sooner that CBS/NBC/Sky Sports get on board and realise the, so called, Right Wing of golf is here to stay the better. Their left wing narrative is not what actual people/fans think. Rory’s realised it and so should they
"Question 1, you sucked last year"
lol
Four players counting on Sunday, that is really big.
The PGA is too woke. This makes big media happy.
