If you’re like most golfers, you probably have your hips pretty square at impact. While it may not seem like a big issue, it’s probably the biggest difference between recreational golfers and better ball strikers.
What it shows is that you are probably just powering the downswing with your arms, typically incorrect use of your trail arm
In the members video I walk you through how the greats pressure shift to make it easy to get your hips wide open at impact so that your arms have room to swing down naturally and freely.
The feeling you get from rotating your body correctly is something that you must experience in the golf swing if you ever want to be a powerful striker of the golf ball.
Otherwise, you will always have an “armsy” golf swing with no real power and struggle to hit the ball very far.

When you look at tour pros from down the line there’s one defining factor that typically always separates Great Ball Strikers from the amateur higher handicaps and it’s very evident in this collage let’s take a look a little bit more closely what is the first thing
That sticks out in your mind when I look at this for me it’s always at impact with better ball Strikers you’re going to see both butt cheeks at impact so we got Justin Rose here on the left hitting a nine iron you can clearly see both
Butt cheeks me I’m more of I’m not a goat I’m more of a mountain goat but can see both butt cheeks on me at impact Tiger Woods Dustin Johnson Ben Hogan Bobby Jones Rory mroy and Allison Lee from the LPGA Tour now let’s start comparing this to what we see in amateur
Golfers the higher the handicap the worse this is going to get so you can see here the golfer looks very jammed up no butt cheeks no butt cheeks no butt cheeks hips are square hips are square arms fully extended hips are square and hips are square this is what you
Typically can define a high handicap and a low- handicap golfer from this one simple view now you may be thinking to get your hips that open at impact that the secret to it would be pushing as hard as you can off of that right foot you can see tiger here is he getting
Ready to push off of that right foot maybe but what the force plate data shows is something completely different and that’s what we’re going to talk about in today’s video is that what you think you need to do to get your hips open is is probably very different than
What you actually need to do so if you want to get your hips open at impact believe it or not it has really nothing to do with driving off of that right foot and in fact as I talk about in this premium video this is the best way to
Hurt your lower back so if you’ve got back pain and you’re trying to get your hips open and deep like the pros like you see here and you think the best way to do it is Drive hard and push hard off of that trail foot well I got some news
For you and the forest plate data doesn’t lie and it shows the tour Pros are actually doing the exact opposite so in this next video we’re going to show you some Force plate data we’re going to walk you through how the pros like tiger like Dustin Johnson like the greats of
Old Ben Hogan Bobby Jones how they got their hips so open at impact and it really has nothing to do with pushing it has more to do with unweighting so if you’re not a member you can click the link down below you can get a 7-Day trial for free no credit card required
Check out the video and see if you are doing this the right way way to get your hips open and impact so that you can start looking and moving like the greatest players of all time

If you start your down swing by dropping your right shoulder, your hips will move to the left and they will open.
If you start your down swing by dropping your right shoulder, your hips will, move to the left and they will open.
I’m seeing all the goats with more right side bend than you have. Am I crazy? Right shoulder closer to right hip?
