Mavericks vs. Celtics did not end the way the Mavericks wanted with Luka Doncic and the Mavs suffering another loss to one of the NBA’s elite teams. However, Mavericks trade rumors haven’t slowed down at all with the 2024 NBA trade deadline approaching. The Terry Rozier trade could have ripple effects for the Mavs, as ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Hornets are not done trading players. Could a Mavs trade with the Hornets features someone like P,J, Washington or Nick Richards? Gordon Hayward could be a potential Mavs buyout target in NBA Free Agency.

Coming up on Dallas Mavericks today as we are getting closer and closer to the NBA trade deadline Dallas reportedly is interested in a Wizards big man plus Fallout from the Kyle Lowry Terry roier trade there’s some Buzz that Charlotte’s going to continue to sell Harrison Graham Jeffrey cooperstein we’ll dive

Into all that in just a moment but this is the time to subscribe he got about 15 16 17 days until the NBA trade deadline if you want the latest Mavericks news rumors trade Buzz leading up to den we are the channel for you hit that sub

Button let’s make it happen all right Coupe how about trading for Daniel Gafford been some Buzz that he could be on the open market he could certainly fill that void that we’ve talked about behind Derek Lively at that sitter position he’s been a guy that we’ve talked about before on this channel and

He’s a guy that I actually think could really suit the Mavericks he can start or come off the bench he’s a pretty good rebounder as well and he’s on an affordable deal Mavericks have a couple of guys that they can match salaries with so this is a guy that certainly

Intrigues me as far as the Mavericks go yeah so we’ll see a what the price would be and B if this is a route they go under I mean he’s been really productive and the thing about Gafford too is that like if you need him to start if wely

Has a night off or if he hits some kind of a rookie wall like he can absolutely start he’s an excellent rim protector he can score around the basket very efficient he knows what his game is um I do think the price will be somewhat

Steep uh to bring Gafford in here I mean I think it’s going to be your first plus player compensation and that’s it’s kind of what the market has been all of trade season so far is you think that someone’s worth this and they’re worth way more with the exception of OG and

Anobi but I think any trade the Mavericks make here at this deadline for a guy who’s going to be of any impact whatsoever to them is going to cost a first round pick and the question you have to ask yourself is is is Gafford worth that first round pick for the

Mavericks to give up I don’t know the answer to that yeah I mean that’s the question like is he worth the first round pick yes is he worth the only one the Mavericks have Maybe not maybe maybe not I mean the tricky part is is yes you

Do need another Center there’s no doubt but is it your biggest need at this point I mean that that kind of bigger forward spot continues to be a problem I mean yeah we saw last night against the Celtics that the maps just have nothing there yeah I mean here are some salary

Matchers and two of these guys Grant Williams Maxi CA who can give you some run at four it’s like they’re just not reliable enough man like if they’re your backup for yes but I mean Grant Williams has been a mess unfortunately the last couple months it’s been a disaster

Nothing short of it just sucks because like the first 10 or 12 games he was playing really well and he suffers some kind of minor ankle injury and he’s just not the same guy I I don’t you know I maybe maybe the start of the season was

Kind of Fool’s Gold I don’t know but he’s been a problem kba he’s fine but he doesn’t stay healthy extended stretches and we know ran Holmes stinks yeah he’s not even in the rotation at this point and then when you when you take a look at those three so say you’re trading one

Of those three to match the salary with Gafford along with that first round pick is that even enough to entice the Wizards I’m not sure it is like I think the Wizards are going to have no shortage of suitors for Gafford I think I saw the rockets and uh there was

Another team that were that was interested in him as well so they’ll have offers on the table would you throw Jaden Hardy in Hardy be hesitant hardy plus either Williams or CBA in a first I’d be hesitant to throw Hardy in a deal like that but maybe that’s the asking

Price in today’s NBA I I wouldn’t love that deal but it would be something I would consider if I were the Mavs I I really don’t I only ask because there is a log Jam at that twoot yeah and you have to you have to alleviate something

There are you getting rid of a j Hardy I don’t think Seth Curry has any trade value right now he just hasn’t played well it’s going to be a guy like Curry or or excuse me like Hardy or green that are going to maybe have to be involved

In these trades because they hold the value right now look if you do green then I don’t think you’re having to flip Williams or CBA because the salary situation now I’d rather not do green in a first for Gafford but I do think Gafford probably helps you more than

Green does but again the question comes down to like can you get a more impactful player with that first round pick I mean that’s exactly that’s really what the question is and it kind of seems like the answer to this point is no because you had the report that Kyle

Kozma they want multiple first round picks for him talked about that yesterday the Nets want multiple first round picks for Dorian finy Smith so who knows what the Mavericks can actually get uh with that one first round pick they have available and they’re in a

Tricky spot C because if if this is a if this is a sellers Market where sellers are getting more value than normal you’re in a tough spot if you’re Dallas because you got to make a move man like if you’re trying if you’re trying to

Make a run this year like I don’t think you have to view this as like all in on 23 24 but like this team reeks of a first round exit right now like I think it’s a good team but like yeah they I don’t think they have enough in the

Chamber to to go beat a quality team in a best of seven as currently constructed fully agree yeah they’re currently sitting eighth right now so they’re in that playing spot 24 and 19 I think they’re only a game out of six so it’s all jumbled up there kind of like it was

Last year but they’re in precarious spot for sure as of right now I’d say they’re a playing team and they’re going to have to fight to get into that first round so they’re they’re in an interesting spot and I think you hit it right on the head

If they don’t make a move I think this is where they’re going to be yeah and look I think if they stand Pat They will be in the playoffs now they may have to win a playing game but I do think they’re better than a lot of the teams

Buying for those playing spots but that’s probably your ceiling I mean is this team beating Denver are they beating even the Clippers like I I don’t think so yeah I don’t I don’t see it right now man they’re going to have to to do something that uh to improve that

Squad so we’ll see what happens are you guys trading a first round pick for Daniel Gafford type A for accept D for decline could you get like a throwin bench guy that can eat some minutes on the I mean I’m serious because like like Lively is not really the issue like yes

Gafford solves the when Lively checks out of the game problem but I don’t know I almost feel like Gafford and Lively are both worthy of more than 24 minutes a game no they probably are so yeah splitting between those two would be would be very difficult to accomplish

You’re underutilizing one of them or both if it’s even split I know like a guy I’m just looking up the Wizards roster here like a guy like Denny AIA who I like but he’s probably going for more than just a throw in as well so I

Mean it the market right now is very robust I mean maybe it’s like a Josh Green first round pick in Grant will Landry shamut like he’s for for Gafford and shamut or OFA maybe I don’t know it’s interesting a for accept D for decline let us know something you should

Meals.com NBA ch50 use the code NBA chat 50 link is in the comments and of the description 50% off enjoy Factor meals right now okay let’s react to this trade a little bit Coupe um you know I I like this move from Miami we’re not going to

Dive into like these like who won this trade that much but more so the Fallout as my you got Terry roier they sent Kyle Lowry in a first uh that’s protected in 27 Lottery protected it would become unprotected in 2028 um that’s the trade but I think this is the more important

Detail W throwing this out there saying the Hornets aren’t done dealing yet plan to continue accumulating future assets ahead of the February 8th trade deadline sources tell ESPN so our thought was okay let’s take a look at what Charlotte’s roster has to offer you’re obviously not going to get like lamelo

Ball or something like that I don’t think they’re Trading him but they’ve got a couple of guys that we are uh certainly intrigued with let’s start with uh in the similar ilk of a Daniel Gafford Nick Richards coup who we’ve talked about before as a quality backup

Center option uh maybe he’s cheaper than a Gafford yeah could you put together a package where you don’t give up that first round pick maybe I do think he is cheaper than Gafford and I think kind of like you said he wouldn’t create the problem of they both have to play more

Than 24 minutes ni Richards is a guy that can play 10 to 15 minutes just fine and the rest rest of the minutes go to Derrik Lively really like him as a backup center option I think the Mavs could do much worse than getting Nick Richards at this deadline and if the

Hornets are open for business maybe they’re willing to take some sort of a discount but I would really like Nick Nick Richards on this team and then another guy that we’ve talked about frequently PJ Washington look Washington would obviously be a great fit for the Mavericks because they need someone at

That four position that can score at will but I do think that he fits into that realm of I’m not I’m sure the mavick can afford him yeah you know Mark cubin which we talked about yesterday talked to Mark Stein said we’d love to add someone who’s 68 or t who could

Score he did mention create as well which Washington does some of I don’t think he does it at the clip of a Kyle kozma who we talked about yesterday but um he would certainly pack a scoring punch uh but I do agree like it’s going to take your first round pick Plus at

Least two rotation guys I mean it it’s not going to be cheap I would guess for PJ Washington now Gordon Hayward who we agree is probably more of a buyout option um I do wonder if a team will throw just like some kind of trade to Charlotte like a last minute here’s a

Second salary filler for Hayward but I would not do that if I was Dallas but if he hits the buyout Market I’d be very very interesed yeah if he hits the buyout Market the MAV should be a team that to watch there for Gordon Hayward I

Think he’d be a great fit for the Mavs add much needed depth at the three spot as well can score can do a little bit of cre he kind of fits that mold that Mark cubin was describing earlier this week so he’s someone that I definitely think

The map should have interest in probably just not via trade and then Cody Martin the twin brother of Caleb Martin uh who can give you some scoring on the wing I think he’s this is like a minor type of trade right like I don’t think this is a

Huge needle mover but if you want to sit there and say well Cody Martin is better than Mark Kei Morris in your rotation which he probably is even though they’re positions he’s more of a 23 Morris is more of a 45 um then sure you could throw a second round pick for Cody

Martin but uh beyond that I don’t think like that’s someone who’s making a massive difference uh in terms of making a big push in the postseason now I think those first two coup are the ones that are most intriguing we mentioned Richard I think he’s like a textbook backup

Center for a contending team agreed you know anywhere from 12 to 20 minutes per game PJ Washington he can start he can come off Off the Bench he can play Four he could play small ball five at times we know he can score as well uh so you

Know I if you were to bring in one of these two guys I do think that makes an impact on the ceiling of your basketball team yeah as as wjen Shams would say on draft night I think these are the two to zero in on to focus on uh with the

Charlotte Hornets look I really think either of these two guys could help the Mavericks it all just depends on what the packages and what the Mavs are willing to give up which is the case for any trade really uh that we’re approaching the deadline which is what

Two and a half weeks from now we’re getting closer so the maver and I do agree with the sentiment that the Mavericks need to make a move whether what it is I don’t know I think they need to do something to shake up if they’re serious about being more than a

Oneandone team they need to make a move now I don’t think you should like approach this as like this year is the end all be all we have to make some crazy outlandish move but I also think standing Pat is basically a resignation for this season yeah I agree so you know

I I I I don’t think this is a one-year project with Luca and Kyrie together but at the same time like if you’re a oneandone team this year the pressure next year it RS it ramps up massively so like I think you got to look at this

Like hey we need to find a way to win a playoff series like I think if you do that it takes the pressure off it’s like okay missed the playoffs last year the next year you won a playoff series the next step is you know can you be back to

A Conference Finals team maybe contending for a title with a couple of chess pieces moved here and there then I think that’s possible will the Mavs make a trade before the deadline let us know what you guys think type why for yes type in for no I do think they will I

Think it’s a yes they’re pretty active typically this time of year so the question is is it a significant one which that remains to be seen yeah I look they need to make a significant move in my opinion just like you said you have to move up this timeline of

Competitiveness there is no time like the present when you have a superstar like Luca donic on your roster and you have to give him every chance possible to win and win big so I hope the Mavs feel that pressure I think they do and I think they’re going to make a move to

Improve this team why for yes and for no we’ll see you next time be sure to Subscribe

  1. I think after the Celtics match up it is clear as day no mater how many defenders you give mavericks if Luka and kyrie can not defend they not going anywhere

  2. 1st quarter vs Celtics is the only way we can win without the required deffense from Luka and Kai that weve been asking for month. 1st quarter vs Celtics is the way to go.We need to play faster. We need cuts from all kids of players not stay stagnet behind the 3 pt line. Luka holding the ball until 3 seconds left dont help at all

  3. Mavs' goal needs to be, trade with Washington and get Avdija, kuzma, gafford… thats your 6'9 wings and your 6'10 big.. lol one stop shop

  4. If the mavs are gonna do something like the pj/richards they should try and get both. They are gonna have to give up the first so add a couple seconds and get rid of some contracts that expire in 25…

  5. I am team stand pad. The first you will be spending on the trade deadline wont move the team much and at the same time will hinder ur ability to chase a bigger fish in the offseason.

  6. I think yall got pj confused with miles saying he a scoring machine pj like average like 14 pg he doesn't score alot

  7. @MavsTv check this trade out ok now THJ, Maxi and two seconds for DeRozan and Drummond then a First, Williams, Green, Hardy and Homles for Kuz and Gafford I believe this get all these done I wanna hear y'alls opinion if that's alright and by y'all I mean Coop and Harrison but man it's a fire sale for the bulls and the wizards get a draft pick and young talent to go around pool and that good foreign guy they have and the big that got from Detroit but the bulls get players under contract for at least 2 years and maxi and Timmy have value in the league but we could go and sign other players as well like that big that who used to play for the sun's who the Grizzly just let go I can't spell his name but yeah sorry for this long ass message btw but I appreciate y'all let me know about that though hahaha go Mavs MFFL

  8. Selling low on green is a bad long term move as a gm…I think we’re going to see what he’s capable of this season. He will be vital down the stretch

  9. IMO the Mavs don’t HAVE to make a move this season and shouldn’t use their 1st unless they are getting a clear starter. If they wait until this summer they will have 3 1st, almost $40M in expiring contracts, tradable contracts like Grant/Josh/Maxi, plus Lively and O-Max will be a year more ready to carry more of the load. Using a 1st right now on Grafford, PJ Washington, etc would be a complete waste of assets. They should use the 2nds to make a minor trade, make their run in the playoffs, and then use their assets this summer to adjust accordingly

  10. I don’t think this team reeks of a first round exit. I think they reek of a play in/possibly missing the playoffs AGAIN

  11. i hate to give up assets especially people that have given up so much to the organization but something has to change! harsh but true. such is life

  12. Do you think there is a possibility of the mavs sending over a big package for Nick Richard’s and P.J. Washington?
