M what what do we a week and a half in and they’ve got three wins already uh heck of a job by Matt McMahon obviously getting Jaylen cook back uh a real big deal in fact uh cook had 16 points uh tonight and um how about that uh Wright

With 23 Wright was big Wright took over at the start of the second half Terrell Ward hit three big threes and they got the lead up and and held on what’s the final now we got a final um still 8377 with 16 seconds left okay anyway getting

Ready to wrap it up but a good bit of news and um obviously uh we still are going to be watching what the LSU is going to be bringing in defensively Mike I I’m excited with Blake Baker he was here one year he made a big difference

With Deone Clark and Mike at basille what’s he going to do with Harold Perkins got him a great Edge co uh coach from Missouri Missouri’s got to be feeling bad about LSU right now after stealing that game last year and then now stealing some of their coaches but

Bo Davis we talked about it the rumor was out there obviously when McKinley switched he was being told there was some changes did it did it Cal kind of fall into play like you thought or well what did I guys tell you in early December uh word I was getting out of

Laugh yet was that Don McKinley was being told that they got their guy and and it was somebody he was very familiar with and um you know I was kind of giving some wins and some looks into the camera and uh but Bo Davis is absolutely

You know a great G he’s been a guy obviously that uh played at LSU uh started his coaching career in the strength and conditioning program at LSU and uh over the years he’s done some damage recruiting against LSU and now you hope that um in the May portal

Period that he’s going to make a difference because LSU like you said earlier Buddy needs some beef and um yes there’s a lot to be excited about with Coach Baker and Bo Davis and Corey Raymond and others coming back um liked uh some of the talent that you mentioned

It um at linebacker I like some of the young DBS that LSU’s going to have um but they got some real big problems on the defense of front and whether they go to some new uh uh new scheme or some way way to to hide their their issues uh

We’re going to find out it’s going to either way it’s going to be an interesting spring because he just doesn’t have the bodies he doesn’t have the bodies buddy well I I understand that I am not gonna spin it buddy I’m I’m I’m not going to give you

An extra two wins just because of who they hire well it’s not that uh time to predict right now um how do we know who’s going to end up at LSU do you know folks that Joe burrow and Jaden Daniels came after this point in their careers

Oh they did pretty good I’m not saying that you have that on the defensive side but these coaches are going to certainly know far better how to use Paris Shan and Deshawn wac and Whit weeks and Harold Perkins Jacobian Gil is back uh you got to figure out what you’re gonna

Do with 35 is he moving inside or is he going to lose weight and get outside uh you’ve got Edge rushers wait till you see Jackson Howard this year you can’t just say one position is going to lock them down it’s a fluid situation they’re going to bring in recruits I think B

Davis is going to attract some pretty damn good D tackles so um before I I jump off the bridge I’m gonna give him a little time uh we have in this business the media has a tendency to be very impatient with Brian Kelly they were mad when he didn’t have a press conference

They were mad when he didn’t hire the staff mad this let’s see what they look like I’ll say this you will admit though that your better portal period is in December than may you had two defensive tackles that anybody wanted in the country Walter Nolan and who else there’s nobody else

In the portal right now that they would want so if you’re G to wait till May just just so you know LSU is not the only school that’s going to want them you’re gonna have to battle for and what have we seen so far Ells she’s going cheap cheap

A uh to me he looks awful lot uh like a former coach he he he looks um just like one they had in the late 90s they they look very similar um uh I think they’re gonna have a rough go of it and they might be lost in the wilderness for a

Long time well and he’s not bringing in a lot of SEC people that have familiarity look kayin dbor has done a fantastic job and has been a big winner even though it’s res he’s a likable guy yeah yeah Ed Daniels interviewed him in New Orleans sugar B said very impressive

But man you jump into the Waters of the SEC you better know all the little nooks and crannies that you’ve got to avoid and um you know he just hired a a head coach at a smaller place it could be a codc uh it it could take him two or

Three years especially with all this roster attrition they’re having um but look that’s the one thing about Alabama now if you’re going to leave and go to the transfer portal you’re going to get your bag because you got your bag on the way in there and that’s the impressive

Thing about nil now Mike a lot of these players are getting it two and three times over with the with the the easy transfer rules Dwayne D I’m with you he says mentally exhausted hearing the rest of the Baton Rouge media praising saving like they were in charge of giving his

Eulogy at his funeral we will be happy when I was done with it last week uh two days afterwards it was enough and um uh good for him we know what he did here uh he put the blueprint down and a lot of coaches has had success

Since then and um I think most LSU fans thank him for that but yeah enough is enough um and now they’ve got their new deos uh in Tuscaloosa to work with um yeah I’m with you Barry Barb he says women’s basketball needs a point guard Reese is a big disappointment no short

Or long shot at all um it it was obvious to me and no remember how much they were going to miss Alexis Morris um Haley van lift obviously can can score and and gives a little bit more than they had with P but defensively she’s not there where they

Need her to be yet and um I was kind of bummed about Michaela’s game on Sunday I um I hope that that was a kind of a oneoff yeah FL and you got to understand when you’re playing everybody I think FL has been exceptional I know but the last

Two games hadn’t been that great now she was on Ro for about three games the last two but you’re playing 35 minutes and in every Bank game they stay all the way in I just and look coach Moi and you know a lot of people called didn’t criticize

That last play one on four but they didn’t clear out the down low and and of course po was uh defender came over and double caught the ball but um hang in there if there’s anybody that knows this team and how to get them playing right

Uh Kim Moi will will have it but I I am a little concerned because the bodies are getting tired and they’re not using the bench believe it or not the men’s team has more of a bench than the women’s team Burgess says uh beef will come in the portal after spring I think

Uh Gib Davis some time let’s see what he does he’s just you know like we talked about over and over Louisiana for next year um class of 25 there’s no multiple defensive tackles in the Louisiana they’re going to have he’s going to have to go out of state and he probably needs

A class of three or four and that’s just the high school kids um well he hadn’t coached in the state of Louisiana for a long time class of 26 you got jaem Stewart at St a he’s the next great uh defensive lineman we know about Lamar Brown at uhu high but

He’s going to be an offensive lineman um you know I um I I I did talk to someone this morning about it and I’m kind of like you know are we because we’re close to the situation obviously and we’re scrutinizing LSU is it not is it just a problem that

LSU is having is is are other schools across the country also having a problem finding capable defensive tackles in any real numbers and um it’s crazy because we’ve seen the state be fantastic with offensive linemen when that was always an issue over the years for for LSU having very top flight offensive lineman

Inside the state of Louisiana’s borders now it’s the opposite you can’t buy any defensive tackles so um we’re gonna see how this this plays out going forward yeah and look uh Bo Davis has been coaching in Texas and Bo Davis has a lot of contacts I think

Without a doubt you want to come play for Bo Davis this is the biggest problem we’ve been talking about LSU’s had a different defensive line coach seven out of the last eight years and and so now that you got boow in here uh I think D

Tackle is going to go away that problem is going to go away before the season I’ll say it now they’ll find some players Jacobi and Gil’s got to have to control this temper and get in better shape and play more minutes parishan other guys but uh once again what kind

Of D tackle play did we see last year zerra he man says if it’s only money that ain’t enough prove yourself and get fairly compensated if you’re chasing money you’ll never form a team think of how many pro clubs tried to buy a roster and it failed um I watched Mickey Lumis

Today uh smacking his gum and um has there ever been a time where it’s time to make some changes there um you know better than me you you follow the Saints and cover them daily um has that run its course yeah but he’s like this when you

You posted I said that uh he wouldn’t get a second grade we’ll see if he goes third or fourth grade my point is this you thought you had D tackle on paper filled it didn’t play out that way on paper right now it’s weak it’s thin

Trust me B Davis is going to coach somebody up a lot more than what you had last year you know with all the new additions I can tell you talking to people at LSU they’re excited about Bo Davis more than anybody and um you know that’s a

Big get that’s not the first time that LSU’s floated the idea of bringing Bo Davis in and if you remember when he left Alabama you had the little show calls and all this oh yeah Nick Nick call me out to drive Nick call out to drive yep and um you know talk about

Could you ever bring him back in and and but you know what that Texas that buffer was a big help because he he was at Texas and Texas came in the league and that flushed all that down the drain uh you know there’s a lot of coaches out

There in the SEC that believe that there’s a Unwritten Blacklist uh in the SEC if if if you ever get on any type of show cause and because there’s not a whole lot of them that end up back in the league at at an SEC school um and uh
