Just Talking About The Best Sport
What’s going on guys today I will be giving my way too early 2024 Big 10 predictions I will be ranking all these teams from worst to best but with all the conference reignment going on we will see the Big 10 expanded to 18 teams in 2024 with the Oregon Washington USC
And UCLA joining just yesterday I did my way too early SEC predictions and honestly it was a lot easier to rank the SEC teams but ranking the Big 10 teams were a bit more tougher because there will be more teams and last season the Big 10 was really bad outside of
Michigan Ohio State and Penn State so I don’t exactly know what to expect from all these big 10 teams next season but I will try my best to rank all these teams but before I do get into this video let me remind you guys to like the video and
Also subscribe to the channel and turn on notifications so you never miss an upload and if you guys love college football then you will love this channel because we upload daily college football content and we basically cover everything on this channel so definitely consider subscribing but without further
Ado let’s get into ranking these teams and let’s start all the way at the bottom him and at number 18 I have Indiana maybe Indiana could be better than the worst team with the big 10 but they were pretty bad this past season and they are basically in complete
Rebuild mode with the new head coach but they have done a pretty good job in the transfer portal picking up players but I think it’ll be another year or two before they really take that next step but at number 17 I have Purdue similar to Indiana they just don’t have much
Going for them yet you cannot realistically predict a good season for Purdue next year man I do expect Purdue to be at least one of those bottom four teams in the Big 10 and a lot of these big 10 teams near the bottom are just very average teams but I have Purdue at
17 but at number 16 I have Illinois Illinois was pretty bad this year and their offense was really a problem and I don’t expect them to be much better they haven’t really made an impact in recruiting or the transfer portal yet their defense really was a lot worse
Than expected this past season and all around they underperformed and did not have a good season they’ve also lost some guys to the NFL so Illinois will be average at best but at number 15 I actually have Ruckers I know they are coming off a pretty decent season going
Seven and six and a lot of people would have them higher and they did win their bowl game but the competition is going to get tougher and I feel like this Ruckers team has not done much in the offseason and picking up players who will make them better next season but
This is way too early and I could be wrong and I will be doing these predictions again later in the preseason but for now I think the teams I have above Ruckers will do better next season and I actually do have Minnesota at number 14 one spot above Ruckers
Minnesota has some key guys returning like freshman running back Darius Taylor and they have their number one receiver returning and a new quarterback coming in and I expect their offense to be a little bit better this upcoming season which really was the struggle of Minnesota football in 2023 I questioned
Myself for putting Ruckers so low after the season they just put together but like I said the teams above them have a lot of positives heading forward and Minnesota is one of those teams but at number 13 I have Northwestern they’re coming off at 8 and5 season with the win
Against Utah in their bowl game and I know they lost some players but I really like the head coach they have in David Braun and I like the defense they have put together this season and I expect them to be all right next season and
They do have big 10 Coach of the Year David Bron leading the way and he does a really good job with the limited resources they have at Northwestern they don’t do a really good job in recruiting but he’s making a good work out of it so far I’m not expecting anything crazy
From them but I expect them to be better than bad but at number 12 I have Maryland they are losing their quarterback to aiyah Tong of vowa but they are coming off a good Bowl win against alurn and this Maryland team could have been dangerous this past season they were just really
Inconsistent and there was a stretch of them playing really bad football on the offensive side but they did get their stuff figured out near the end of the season and even competed with Michigan who ultimately won the national title I don’t think people realized how good this Maryland team actually could have
Been but despite losing tugga aloa their defense will be good again and I expect them to be okay on offense but next up at number 11 I actually have Michigan State and I know Michigan state is coming off a terrible season they were one of the worst teams in the Big 10 but
I do expect a little bit more for them the next couple years years and they brought in a very good head coach and Jonathan Smith who rebuilded a mediocre Oregon State team and led them to back-to-back rank Seasons when Oregon State hadn’t been good in a long time
And Michigan state has brought in some good transfers from Oregon State ever since Jonathan Smith came to Michigan State including the Young quarterback Aiden tiles who should make this offense better all around they’ve done a good job at bringing in transfers and I think this Michigan State team has a long way
To go but they are on the right track at number 10 I have UC La I know they lost Dante Moore but they also have Ethan garbers who should be fine at quarterback and they have brought in really solid players out of the transfer portal including Brian Addison from
Oregon who will play a factor and even after a very underwhelming season they still managed to end it on a good note and I do expect UCLA to be decent it give some top teams in the Big 10 a run for their money but they aren’t quite on
That level yet but I’d say there’s a pretty big gap between UCLA and the teams ranked below them the teams who are ranked 11 through 18 are probably going to be average at best next year but UCLA should be a bit better than average and another team I think will be
Better is Nebraska and I have them ranked at number nine if they were in another conference maybe they wouldn’t be this high but they have done a really good job in recruiting and they brought in a really solid running back in Dante Dow who should start next season their
Defense was already solid this past season and they have brought in a five-star quarterback and have a majority of their offensive line returning and I do think the future of Nebraska is bright and it hasn’t been this bright in a long time but a number AI of Iowa there’s not really any chance
That make a big 10 Championship unless they magically get a really good offense which isn’t happening so you’re not making a big 10 Championship again Iowa but you guys offense could possibly be better next year but you guys have a lot of work to do I still expect them to be
Solid but the teams above them will be a lot better all around we’ll see what Iowa football can do in 2024 because I’m very interested to see if we see something different from the offense but I’m not going to have by expectations high for Iowa football because they
Haven’t had a good offense in a while now but at number seven I have Wisconsin I think Luke fickle is doing a really good job at Wisconsin we could possibly see them being higher but I’m going to be realistic and say they finished number seven in the Big 10 they have
Brought in a quarterback Tyler van djk who could be a decent pickup but he really needs to cut down on the mistakes and they also brought in a bunch of other players in the transfer portal so we’ll see what they can do but I really like this Wisconsin team and at number
Six I actually have Washington and this could change if they manag to bring in a bunch of players from Arizona after Washington hired Jed fish as the new head coach but for now I have to say that future is looking a little bit tough at least for next year because
They have lost a big majority of their team and their head coach has also left and I don’t think people realize how much this team is actually losing like I seriously do not know who will be the quarterback next season this could be a TCU type of situation where they go from
National totle runnerup to like 5- seven but I don’t want to drop them that much because Jed fish was a decent pickup for head coach and they should be decent in the trenches but it’s going to be really hard to predict what’s in store for Washington football but if Washington
Doesn’t make big moves in the portal I don’t see them having a great season next year and I honestly could put them lower but that’s way too unrealistic but like I said I don’t think people realize how much they are actually losing but here we go I might have made a mistake
But I actually have USC at number five and before you scream at me in the comments and say oh what are you doing you don’t know what you’re talking about USC has no defense Lincoln Riley is a fraud take a minute to hear me out I
Know there’s a lot of questions on this USC team and they just lost Caleb Williams but I think most of us can agree that the offense will be complet Ely fine with Miller Moss leading the way and there’s absolutely no way Lincoln rally has any less than a good
Offense but the defense is the concern on this team but I do think we will see the defense be at least average next season I mean two years ago USC still managed to almost make the playoffs with a bad defense and what are the odds their defense is that bad again as it
Was last year the Big 10 won’t be stacked Washington is going to fall off and the Big 10 was already averaged this year outside of Michigan Pinn State and Ohio State but I think this USC team is good enough to crack the the top five and maybe win eight games they still
Have a top 10 transfer portal class and a good recruiting class and they picked up a ton of guys who could help out on defense but nobody seems to talk about this much either but they are getting completely reset in the coaching staff on defense and they have brought in a
Linebacker coach who is also the assistant head coach for defense and he has won two FCS national championships and I think Lincoln Riley is putting in time to make the defense better by any means am I saying the defense is going to be good but I highly doubt it will be
As bad as it was this past season and L always has a good offense so I think this USC team has potential but I could end up being wrong but like I said this is way too early but for now I have USC at five and I honestly think it makes
Sense I think they’re going to go back to how they were two years ago they’re going to have a really good offense and an average defense But ultimately they will not be good enough to compete in the 12 team playoffs but they will be better than Washington cuz Washington is
Just losing way too much but for my top four teams these teams all have legit chances to make the 12 team playoffs and at number four I have Penn State p Penn State brought in a new offensive coordinator and I’ve done an excellent job at bringing in players in the portal
Including five-star receiver out of high school Julian Fleming and quarterback AJ Harris from Georgia they have only got six players from the transfer portal but they will all make impacts on the team or at least they should Drew all really isn’t the best quarterback option for Penn State and unfortunately that’s why
I can’t put them any higher than four I don’t think they have the talent like the teams above them do and they can never beat Michigan or Ohio State but maybe and just maybe they finally stop hiding in the shadow of Ohio State in Michigan but I really doubt it and I
Expect the same from them as I do every season which is a good season but not Elite season but a number three I have Michigan people may not agree with Michigan not being number two or even number one but they are losing a lot of talent including JJ McCarthy and Blake
Corm and there’s still a possibility of them losing head coach Jim Harbaugh and it’s starting to look likely I know Michigan still has a lot of talent who can step up on this team but I think the teams above them have a lot of positives going for them and I think Ohio State
Finally gets theob job done and beats Michigan which I’ll get to in a minute but Michigan will still be a legit 12 team playoff Contender and honestly they are still a contender for the national championship despite what they’re losing I just don’t think they will be competing for the Big 10 Championship
Because the one of the two teams I actually have competing for the Big 10 Championship is actually Oregon and I have them at number two I think Oregon has a lot of great things going for them they are the only team of the country to be top six in recruiting and transfer
Portal rankings and they have a loyal head coach who is building towards something bigger and hey maybe it’s the Nike money but you can’t deny that this team will be competing near the top of the Big 10 but they have a lot of Talent on the team and they have brought in
Five star receiver Evan Stewart and also two quarterbacks and Dylan Gabriel who was a Heisman Contender halfway through the season and they also brought in Dante Moore who will start in a couple years but the defense is coming off a pretty good season and they were top 10
In points per game and Dan laning is building a defense that can compete at a high level the future is looking bright for the Oregon Ducks with Dan Lanning who is only 37 with a lot more to learn leading the way and this team will be a
Legit Contender for the 12 team playoffs and even the national championship but at number one I actually have Ohio State being the best team in the Big 10 I think Ohio state is overdue to beat Michigan and I know people said that going into this past season but
Everything is setting up for Ohio State to have a good season Michigan is losing their top talent and also possibly their head coach but Ohio state has returned a lot of guys on offense and they have brought in one of the better running backs in the country and quitan jins and
The reason I think Ohio state did not live up to expect ations this year was because their offense wasn’t the best and even after finishing 11 to1 in the regular season they still get criticized but what I’m saying is Ohio State’s offense will be better and they brought
In a very underrated quarterback and will Howard but their defense will be good again and I expect them to be a championship caliber team yes Ryan day may be in the hot SE and has lost three straight to Michigan but it’s going to be a new season and anything can happen
But anyways that’s going to do it for the video I know I’m going to have a lot of people disagreeing with me but no matter where I rank these teams there will always be people complaining no matter what and ranking 18 teams wasn’t very easy and this is a very new look
Big 10 but you guys let me know down in the comments below what your big 10 rankings will look like but also before you click off the video don’t forget to like the video and also subscribe to the channel and turn on notification so you never miss an upload and if you guys

My Rankings:
1. Oregon: Best offense in the conference led by Dillon Gabriel, a great receiving corp and running game while also having an elite defense.
2. Ohio State: Will Howard is a solid fit into this offense, and I'm sure they'll find new pass catchers. The defense returns a ton, and should be strong.
3. Michigan: Not expecting the wheels to fall off, but the offense will take a hit, even with Edwards returning. The defense will be the one the best.
4. Penn State: The defense is lights out, but the offense will need some fixing. They have the pieces, but they'll need to step up in the bigger games.
5. Washington: Jedd Fisch is a great hire, but there are so many guys leaving. They still do recruit well, and they may get some guys from Arizona.
6. Wisconsin: Luke Fickell can only get better in his second season. The offense has improved, but losing Braelon Allen hurts. Defense is still elite.
7. USC: Though Miller Moss is no Caleb Williams, he has tons of potential. The defense will likely get a bit better with new coordinators.
8. Iowa: We all know how good their defense is. But even without Brian Ferentz, I still have little faith in this offense, though improvements are likely.
9. Maryland: I like the offense even without Tagovailoa, and they have an alright defense. They could be a sleeper team in the Big 10.
10. UCLA: Collin Schlee is very underrated, and will be a great offensive leader. On defense they shouldn't be awful, but nothing spectacular.
11. Nebraska: Dylan Raiola has plenty promise, but he's still a freshman. However, I still think the defense is decent, and I trust Matt Rhule.
12. Michigan State: Jonathan Smith is a great pickup, and Aiden Chiles is promising. However, the defense was atrocious last year, and needs work.
13. Northwestern: They return talent on all sides. I'd say an alright offense, and alright defense. But it's safe to say that David Braun is amazing at HC.
14. Rutgers: A solid defense, but a very mediocre offense. There's just better teams, and they kinda got lucky to bowl last year with some of the schedule.
15. Minnesota: Not a very good offense, and a defense that disappointed in my eyes. Still pretty lucky to go bowling with that 5-7 record of theirs.
16. Illinois: The offense was a letdown, but I think Altmeyer can improve. But the defense loses many assets, so I'm not to high on them overall.
17. Purdue: Maybe we see massive change in Ryan Walters' second year, but with a bad offense, and mediocre defense, I'm not sure that happens.
18. Indiana: I like the hiring of Cignetti, and the transfers they brought in will help, but it will be very hard with a team that was awful on all sides of the ball.
Ohio State offense was not good what they’re one of the better offense of production teams in the country with a subpar quarterback now they do return a lot for next year, but we have to see how their quarterback play is I do think Oregon is the best team in the conference.!!!
Nebraska take is just bad they the second best run game last year with their 3 string a guy who has never played a full game is going to struggle to see the field. raiola is good and yes 3 qbs started last year but the only one returning won all 5 games and had a 1:1 turnover to touchdown ratio he will have to compete. The are better at wide out, linebacker, and o-line they return the second best d-line they only play one team that they wouldn't have competed against last year in Ohio state and they get them in October when Ohio state will probably still be getting a mobile qb in to a vertical offense
OK I know for a fact that Nebraska will be way way better them all these west teams.
NU is every experienced on both o and d lines. Tony white is probably the best position coach sence the 90s.
Ryola would start anywhere probably instantly if he wanted cuz he is that good. Jahmal Banks was a wake forest superstar best guy on the team. Isaiah Neyor was produced to be the top guy for Texas best guy probablyin all Wyoming. And our young dudes are just that more developed then last year.
No west team has this on Offense. Not one of them not Wisconsin. Not any of um.
Our D is no joke there maybe on par with Iowa if not next year they will be.
I think Penn State has a better chance of beating Michigan than Ohio State just because Michigan is losing a lot of players and also their head coach as well and on top of that Michigan’s schedule is tough
As a Nebraska fan, I’m sick of this fucking Bullshit we fucking suck
I think you put Iowa and Wisconsin a little high, but this is a realistic outcome, Very good work.
Go Ducks !
Ohio State vs Oregon for B1G championship sounds about right. I can't poke holes in the rest of your rankings. Great video, thank you.
I love people’s prediction about my DUCKS, but I want to be precautious. Because I still feel BIG still belongs to Ohio State and Michigan. We’re the new kid in the block. I still feel they have a chance to win the NATTY if they go past through both of them. The best thing is we get Ohio State @ AUTZEN STADIUM, but I’m worried about going to the big house and Wisconsin. I give my full trust in coach Lanning because he’s a great motivator for our team and he knows exactly what he’s doing. I can’t wait for next year. GO DUCKS
Washington is going to have it rough next year. I think you'l might be giving them too much credit.
Can't disagree with the top-2 though. I like Oregon to come in and win the B1G in their first year. Really stacked group. And Oregon has Ohio State in Eugene. … You think Ohio State is winning that game?
Ohio State is at Autzen. I believe that will be the deciding factor. Giving Ohio State their one loss for the year at Oregon. Ohio State v Michigan, at that point at the end of the year, will decide who plays Oregon in that BIG 10 championship game. And I think Oregon will lose the championship game. Just my way too early prediction lets see what happens
Good job!
Player talent is important but the greatest difference-maker in sports is coaching. Coaching is the bane of OSU football. Maybe next year the players can play better than they are coached.
SC will beat LSU and Michigan in those first 4 games. I feel like a lot of B1G fans are in a bubble like SEC fans. SC/Oregon/OSU will be your top 3 w/ Michigan 4
It's hard to predict the influence that the PAC12 teams will have on the conference. Your predictions seem reasonable for what lies ahead. I'll take my Ducks to finish in the top 3 in their first year in the BIG10.
The way penn state runs their program is literally aids. Anyone who’s a fan and has seen them play any remotely important ranked game knows. Franklin is allergic to competent offense and his OC’s are beyond retarded. I have fucking zero hope and honestly I’d rather see him go 1-11 and get his ass fired than see penn state go through one more fucking 10-3 season. Im so god damn sick of it, and the school just idly sits by with their thumbs in their asses while they sit as a fucking disgrace and the laughing stock of big 10 football year after year
Sco Ducks!
Oregon will beat ohio state!
My ducks vs Ohio state in B1G championship I’m calling it now 🟢🟡🦆🤝🏾
Ohio State for sure. Michigan is falling apart, as Harbaugh and key players leave.
I don’t even think Michigan should be top 5, they’re losing so many players and likely their head coach
Rutgers schedule gets way easier. No penn state no Ohio state no Michigan no Oregon. Return Bigten leading rusher. Shocked if Rutgers doesn't win at least 8 games. Possibly a top 10 national ranked defense. Played Ohio state – Penn state and Michigan to almost draw deep into 3rd quarter. Returning a ton of talent that will be bigger and stronger.
if you put iowa above oregon I swear to god
As a big 10 and Iowa fan, I pretty much agree with everything you have said. There will be surprises in your rankings, because it’s still college football, but the early analysis is pretty fair. With the big ten being stronger overall, the next few years will see a gigantic jump in talent in the next few years. With that said, I do think Rutgers, Iowa, Nebraska and UCLA will be slightly better. USC and Michigan will be slightly weaker, but could very much be in the expanded playoff system. PAC 12 teams coming in are critiqued for their defense, however they go against some of the most explosive offenses in the country.
USC just hired Eric Henderson as co defensive coordinator (superbowl champion and top defensive line coach in the NFL last season) to join D'Anton Lynn, who in his first year as defensive coordinator for ucla last season, took their 92nd ranked defense in 2022 and made them a top ten defense in all of college football. In addition, they hired Matt Entz (as LB and Assistant HC), a hard nosed coach who took part in 6 national FCS championships with NDSU, and Doug Belk from Houston as DB coach who is notable for working under both Saban and Kirby Smart in Alabama and developing 1st round NFL draft picks. This is arguably a better defensive staff than the USC of the 2000's that dominated the SEC and the BIG 10.
All that to say… they very well will likely have a top defense in college football next season.
12th for md seems a bit low but i respect your opinion this team should had been 9-3 but unfortunately lost 2 games they shouldnt have but hey thats the nature of the sport
NOW that DeBoer has RAPED the husky program, you will rerate them to 10th.
