Liv golf have made some huge changes to their schedule going into the 2024 season and I mean huge for me it brings it closer in line with what we see on the DP World Tour and on the PGA tour now the question I’ve got for you were

These changes put in place because of John Ram now the rumors were that he only signed his contract because they’re going to make changes to the format everybody was saying John Ram won’t sign because he doesn’t like the format he doesn’t like shot and start this begs the big question have these format

Changes been made to accommodate John Rams preferences now I’ll let you decide that but let’s get into this breaking new story now before that this is your first time here on the channel this is your home of breaking news in the golf industry so be sure to subscribe turn on

The Bell that way I can keep you up to date before all of your mates with everything that’s going on in the industry so I hear you say what are the changes so the changes are this we’re going to have two unassigned players that are going to be invited to play

Every single event now these are golfers who are not part of the league they’re not part of a team they are just invited from outside to play the events now this takes the total number of players up to 50 from 48 plus the new team from John Ram which

Takes the total number of teams to 13 and this creates a field size now of 54 players now surely this is as big as they could ever go if they want to keep a shotgun St because you think about it logically they want to have golfers playing in three balls four balls would

Just take an absolute age so that would mean a three ball on every single hole now in the past they’ve only started on 16 holes but this would actually go up to all 18 holes in use on the shotgun start and keeping the shotgun start this

Is going to be the ceiling so it’s going to be in interesting to see if this changes further if further big names come and join the party I mean I even heard Windam Clark is apparently in the Reckoning let me know if you heard that rumor too get down in the comments it’d

Be great to see if you’ve heard that rumor too so 54 players will be participating in all 14 events this year and they’re hoping to get this in place for the Maya Coba which starts in Mexico in around a few weeks time so there’s two spots that are unassigned spots one

Of these is going to be a wild card which means the tour could literally pick anybody now usually this works with going down who the main sponsor is and them inviting a player but I that opens it to a very interesting audience where could that player come from it could be

Absolutely anybody from any tour it’s very very interesting that one now the other place is said and the expectations are the Asian tours International Series standings leader will take the other unassigned slot which at this point is Andy ogl tree and he is the current order of Merit Champion now the

International series rankings is based on prize money and professional players are going to be invited to that and eligible for that to earn prize money on their performances within live golf so the two wild card players are going to still be able to earn money on the Liv

Golf circuit so we’ve heard this we’re increasing the field size we’ve got two people who are unassigned players one wild card and one is expected to be the international series order of Merit leader now that is all very interesting but this is what gets me Liv golf will

Be introducing a live individual ranking point system nothing to do with the world ranking system just their own rankings now I find this seriously interesting because does this mean they’re never going to get world rankings Point number one but Point number two it’s sort of what the PJ tour

The DP World Tour and the Asian tour do you have this ranking system which is effectively money but have a ranking system which allows players to keep their position within the tour and it offers an opportunity for relegation and promotion so this got me thinking does this mean they’re making this because it

Makes it more competitive again answering to John Ram are they also doing this to have a tour School more often I know they had one this year but have this as a reoccurring thing because I also heard that the fact that the tour is almost a closed shop was one of the

Huge reasons why they’re not eligible for world ranking points now having this point system or their own live golf rankings may give them the opportunity to have a relegation and promotion Zone where let’s say the top 48 players keep their card anywhere below that has to go back to tour School

That gives relegation and promotion that offers an opportunity for them to change the narrative around the competitiveness change the narrative around world ranking points and this could be done for few reasons as I say one may what maybe was John Ram two was to make the tour competitive and three

To try and get world ranking points all I know is that this is a huge statement from live golf and something that maybe they’re preparing for no agreement maybe this is done because there is an agreement who knows at this point but this makes changes which are seriously interesting

For the tour thanks so much for watching and don’t forget to subscribe to the channel

  1. When is Rory's PR team going to bring him to a point where he has saved enough face to gorge himself at the LIV money trough as well.

  2. Ogletree won Asian tour OOM. He’s being promoted to a team. The ranking is only different from individual standings IF it includes tournaments like the Majors or tournaments outside of LIV (where LIV players won all sorts of tournaments last year and this year). Otherwise, they already have individual rankings. I think the 1 player that can be called into any event is going to be the sponsor exemption.

  3. I know how to get all parties happy , have the 3 tours , simple , keep the 4 majors as free for all, have 3 event champions league event . For top 15 from each tour at the end of the year compete . PGA should bring reduced seasons with a new tier two league , with promotion and relegation. 80/80 , one this would allow for be talent to be able to play and get promotion. And have alternative weekend to feed the need for golf on tv and allow all players to rest .

  4. The point system was always going to come into Liv. Also pif have a plan b if the PGA don't play ball, meaning Liv isn't going anywhere and it's only going to get bigger and stronger.

  5. Yes, because a group of three players on each hole is how it's done elsewhere. So a group of three players sets off on the 1st, and currently the starter doesn't send off another group until they get to the 2nd tee. That's how it's done now on the PGAT and DPWT. NOT!! Fact: A shot gun can easily accommodate 65 golfers.

  6. If I were LIV I would invite golf YouTubers Look at the viewing numbers of Grant vs Garret. In a couple of days they have over 2 million views.on the 2 videos. That is serious numbers of younger demographic eyeballs

  7. I am sick off the shit going on, us that have to work for our money, then pay a entry fee to watch only half off the best players in the world should stop going to the games then we see how long it takes them to back together again , we have power to bring our game back together

  8. I doubt that the shotgun start goes away. I have read and seen too many players who love it and its main benefit is for the fans. Who no longer have to match the schedule of their favorite players to actually see them play or spend an entire day at the event.

  9. Everyone gets their pants in a wad assuming LIV is limited. Has anyone ever considered that perhaps LIV will grow beyond hosting more than one event at a time?

  10. 13 x 4 = 52 when I was At school not 54. Easy to accommodate on the course – two groups on tee on holes after a par 5

  11. This whole thing is getting lost in the weeds- break it down quickly and easily for each video.

  12. Once the PGA and company get this agreement finalized everything everybody is talking about now doesn't mean anything. You can't change the rules if you don't know what the rules are going to be
