I've always rooted for the underdog. I became a Lions fan because they were widely considered "the worst team" when I was a kid. I was there when they went 0-16 which only solidified the negative stigma this team had. Everyone made jokes about them, including myself, but I stuck with them year after year. To see their growth over time and it finally paying off with their first playoff win in decades (since before I was born) is an incredible feeling. Now I'm hoping to see them go all the way to the Super Bowl!

So happy for the Lions. This team has been a long suffering franchise. Now they got a chance to do something special. Congratulations Detroit and best of luck for the remainder of the postseason.

In a perfect universe, each team would win 1 super bowl every 32 years, which is 3-4 playoff wins in a row. Detroit took that long for a single win. I can't imagine how hyped those fans are after having to wait so long. And kudos to Jared Goff and MCDC, who it seemed like very few people believed in just a couple of years ago.

His story is that he and his Dad were at the previous playoff win in 1992, but the Dad passed away not too long after when he was 14 and was buried in his Detroit Lions jacket, and now here the guy is seeing them win again and thinking how much his Dad would have loved it.
