Little bit of loose swinging there for Parks I mean to me she does yeah that’ll do [Applause] nicely that’s great play just stretching the court there and and a minor blip and focus seals the deal for Alicia Par well a very big twist in the tail of this and in her debut Australian Open appearance she takes the first set against the 32nd seed and what a Twist in the tail this was she was down a break that bounced a little bit higher luckily
She was able just to let that come down just haven’t seen enough of that today great play from [Applause] Fernandez oh think she should have perhaps let that one jump dri long little bit of a breeze down there oh my [Applause] goodness well there she has it gets there
Eventually two 75 64 took her a couple of attempts but into the third round she goes for the very first time well what a phenomenal turnaround here for Alicia Parks the American up against the more highly ranked player a Player

Fernandez has a finesse game which does not perform well against power game Parks, Ostapenko, Rybakina, Sabalenka. She will always lose to heavy hitter in the slams unless she changes her game a bit.
Very surprised she won this match.
Need to see the extended highlights on how she came back
Layla out
Leylah and Emma Raducanu have had the same one hit wonder trajectory
From behind she looks like Serena
Compton in the House just like Serena..
Clown meets clown lol..they are all chokers
Serena???
Parks has everything to be a top player technically. Maybe she needs a better coaching team?
A number of you have flamed me for complaining about the highlights here.
Even though I have subscribed, I am saying that the highlights do not tell why a close match was won or lost.
Have any of you seen some YT posters who show EVERY point in a match? A 3-hour match can be reduced to 15 minutes if you just show the points from the start of a good serve to the winning point.
Instead, these AusOpen highlights show slo-mo replays (which we can already do with YT), shots of players walking to their seats, random points, and extraneous footage that does nothing to explain why Alycia (or any other player) has won an upset.
My point is this: If you only have 3 minutes to summarize a match, then show the successful break points (yes, even if a double fault) and show the entire tie break (if any).
If you YTUbers have a constructive response, please post, but stop with the flaming (e.g., "shut up').
I am trying to improve the viewing of the most compelling matches.
I have been saying this for a while. Parks has the weapons and needed to put it all togther. Great job! Hope it can come together more!
Congrats Alycia. May we see much more from you in the future.
Leyla Fernandez is a good player but needs more firepower. She's too tiny and needs to improve shot speed and can't play defense on the time. Still she's good but needs to be better to win Grand Slams.
yay! 🙂
proud of alycia you kept your composure lets walk down the next opponent
Well done. Congrats!💕
Alycia game is so good and powerful💪
Promising girl and what a serve by Alycia! GG Leylah
I've been telling people that this girl is dangerous. With proper coaching and mindset, she can be easily in the top 10 this year.
Huge choke from Leylah. All she had to do was close out the first set at 5-4. If this went 3 sets, she would’ve had a better chance at winning.
Excited to see Parks vs Gauff now!!
If Parks can get to the top 10 and start winning slams, she’ll be the next big sensation! She’s beautiful and can model for the big brands!! Coco wouldn’t like that tho 😂
parks 세레나보는줄
It's been a while since I've seen a powerful female tennis player. It's an American player, and she reminds me of the real Serena. Offensive power, serve, wow, if she just reduces the mistakes, she could be a post-Serena title.
Keep going Leylah, your so amazing but you had a off night,❤
Shots from Park looking sharper than last year. I have so much hope for her, i think she has the game. Though, i also think her game in modeled too closely to Serena’s (even her temperament and behavior on court) without quite the requisite athleticism. But! She’s young and has so much room to grow.
So happy for Parks ❤
The female announcer is clearly a Fernandez fan….impartial they should
At least be but the best player won!
Leylah Fernandez is a great warm up for other players to advance to their next round 😆
Wow new serena
Wow she was demanding aggressively a ball from the ball kids! 💀 1:59
Is this a Serena 2.0 lol
I'm just so pleased to see more diversity in tennis. Currently watching with my 5 yr old lil girl….
Let’s go Parks!!!!!! Get it done.
Leylah is a good girl,… muy Bonita muchacha as well,… 😢 Congrats to Parks,…
i remember leylah took the world by storm a few years back. man-o-man has she sunk to the bottom quickly. oh well, that's life.
Stay focused sis. Shake off the hate and pack it under your feet and keep rising. Godspeed
As an American fan, it's tough to see two of my favorites playing against each other so early in AO. This will be an exciting match. Love seeing both of them doing so well.
LF is beyond hype & overrated doesnt matter anyway Gauff just destroyed the one trick Servebot Parks
