What’s up guys I’m Taylor with TK disc golf and today we are reviewing the pixel from axium discs this is the newest putter in Simon lat’s line of discs it’s got the flight numbers TWP speed four Glide zero turn and 0.5 fade making it an awesome disc for your Putt

And approach needs very straight flyer before we dive into the review be sure to hit that subscribe button so you don’t miss any of our MVP exclusive content so let’s get started now one of the first things I want to quickly mention is that mvp actually announced that they’ve tweaked the electron

Plastic formula just a little bit especially on the soft plastic and then a little bit on the medium as well if you’re not familiar MVP’s electron plastic is their Baseline stuff so it’s got nice grip especially in the wet and colder conditions it does beat up pretty

Quickly so you will want to be able to cycle these Putters out but that’s honestly a good thing I keep a nice fresh set in your bag but also you can have a various stages of wear too you can have a really straight one and a new

One that’s got a little bit more of that stability bite at the end uh but the soft blend here you can tell that it’s got some nice softness uh over the years they’re soft plastic has progressively gotten stiffer so it’s nice to see them go back to like a actually true soft

Blend I’ve got an old 2015 atom here and this thing is like an absolute Taco like you can just Flex the crap out of that and it’s not going to warp it or anything like that the medium it’s still got nice uh Flex on it but it’s not as

Stiff as the board flat firm guy I mean you can’t even bend this guy I prefer the firm plastic occasionally I’ll switch to the medium especially in the cold weather but the firm plastic it just it feels so good to me and quick I do want to talk about the design intent

And hand feel of the disc Simon really insisted that he wanted this to be a nice deep uh profile on his hand wasn’t really a big fan of like the envs and Adams and stuff for putting just cuz they were like that modern low profile

Feel uh he was used to using like the p2s and p1x with dis Mania so when coming over to MVP the ion and the anode were obviously his first choices but there was some things he wanted to tweak the inside Rim being one of them uh the

Ions and anod have a rounded inside Rim versus this he wanted to go back to the traditional like 90° angle so when his hand sits on the inside it just felt nice and uh classic to him the pl that kept on the slightly Lower Side to

Really help with the Loft and glide when he uh uses his spin putt to really ensure that these discs make it all the way to the basket with minimal effort but moving on to some throwing I do want to start off by saying that the weather conditions in Cincinnati right now are

Absolutely awful winter is in full effect so it was super super cold outside the wind was like 15 mph sustained with 30 mph gust so really was just trying to stick to Tailwinds as best as I could and then I did all the putting and inside the woods but

Thankfully the throwing field that we used was a direct Tailwind so that was really nice I threw a couple shots there where as long as I put it on a nice little like Hiser it was able to hold that or pop up a little bit the wind

Bounc it around quite a bit here and there but overall just a laser strape flyer off the T I don’t see myself throwing it off the T to too much just because the MVP has such a good lineup of driving Putters with those lower profiles that this is more of like I see

A putt and approach disc like a true one so I’m really going to stick to I think 150 ft maybe up to 200t depending on the circumstance and then for putting I’m going to experiment with it as well but moving on to the putting portion of the video this is obviously what Simon

Intends to use the pixel for is his main go-to putter from all distances and that’s exactly what it was designed for I will start off by saying that I have been putting with the ion from MVP since 2012 so for me the pixel felt very familiar yet still foreign and the thing

With me is like if I feel a new putter in my hand it’s I know it’s not an ion and it’s a mental thing and I start missing every single putt for some reason however with this I was putting really really well despite how cold it

Was and the wind that all that didn’t matter because this thing just felt so comfortable and it was just point and shoot the ions that I have in my bag I think are about 5 years old so I haven’t cycled a new set of ions in my bag for

Many many seasons so I think I’m already used to a very beat to crap electron ion that just flies super straight compared to a fresh one so the pixel right out of the box stability wise was very very close to the beat up ions that I’ve already been using and then that hand

Feel like I said it wasn’t throwing me off too too bad I knew it wasn’t an ion it felt a little bit different but with that micro bead it felt very comfortable for my pointer finger to sit on the edge of the disc cuz having that bead there

Like the ion does I tried my best to give a good variety of styles of putts even some straddle putts which I’ve been working on over the past couple years and felt super comfortable to be able to throw the pixel from straddle just really painting the pole of the basket

And it was that’s where the disc was going it wasn’t fading wasn’t turning right just if my hand was in line with the pole that’s where the pixel would go uphill no problem I was able to pick my aiming point and it just Glides all the

Way up and into the chains and then into headwinds I had no issues with it as well um it wasn’t turning over on me or anything I was just aiming a little bit lower obviously got to pick a lower aiming spot like at the cage and trust

That the glide’s going to get a boost into a headwind and just go all the way into the chains and it was doing that for me as well and then for the Tailwind putts no issues either I was able to give it a little bit of height and like

I said as long as I was painting the pole it was just going up and down into the chains it wasn’t fading it wasn’t uh turning or anything especially inside the circle it was really just staying on a rope all the way to the chains but overall I was actually really impressed

With the pixel and quite surprised by it actually like I was saying I’m so used to putting with ions and anything else I just had this mental block and start missing putts but the pixel I was having no problem it translated really really well to my hand feel the style of putt

That I use and then the type of putter that I’m typically using with the slight slight stability to it that’s exactly what this disc was so it’ll be interesting for me to uh try this out when it’s not 25° with 15 mph winds to get a really good Gras but overall I was

Impressed with how it handled the extreme elements so I can’t wait to try it once it warms up but all right guys that concludes our review video the pixel from the Simon line super super excited for this one if you’re a fan of deep dish Putters be sure to pick one of

These up cuz I think you’re going to love it local retailers should have pre-orders up on this already uh the official release date has not been determined but I’d expect that to be sometime in like late February if I had to make a guess uh thank you guys for

  1. Im concerned it might be too deep to feel comfy in my hand but I will definitely give it a try when I can find one at my local stores.

  2. Looks like another winner from MVP. I go to MVP for thinner feeling rims, but a deeper rim could be better for the actual approach shots. I'm stoked to try one. Thanks for the review TK

  3. Hey, I also putt with an old beat up Ion! Thanks for the review! Good Stuff!

Last year I adopted the Spin to putt from 40+ ft and it really helped hold putting lines at distance. How do you feel the Pixel fits between the Ion/Anode and the Spin? How much deeper is the rim feel than the Ion?

  4. This thing looks right up my alley… except I already putt and throw Ion, Anode and Spin, so I don’t really need to add a Pixel into the mix lol

  5. I know I'm not personally going to bag the Pixel, but I'm really excited for the new blend of Electron! I miss that super gummy Electron soft, so I'm excited it'll be back to form

  6. Did not know you were a cincy native. What’s your favorite courses in the area? Is this gulley?

  7. I have the smallest hands I've ever seen on an adult male. So this probably isnt for me. The pa3 is the upper limit of depth for me

  8. Well i’m currently putting with P2s, so i think these will feel just fine for me as far as the deep rim goes. I may have to slightly adjust the hyzer angle i use for my spin putts but i cannot wait to get the pixel. Solid review, keep it up!

  9. This likes a great addition to the already fairly complete putter lineup in the MVP family. A touch slower than the Proxy, and I agree it looks more like a putt and approach putter than a driving putter. I've used the electron Nomad for putting and the Proxy and Envy a lot (in Eclipse 2.0 plastics) as throwing putters. I may switch to the Pixel as a putting putter.

  10. Dang. I might have pre-ordered the wrong plastic. I decided recently that I really like a medium-soft putter and thought the slightly harder soft electron would be great. Nope. They changed it. Lol. It'll probably be fine, or at least worth trying.

  11. Dude, this was a sweet video. Thank you.

I especially liked the comparison photos of the profile view of the different discs you were talking about.

  12. I have also been putting with ions (pink ones) since 2012. This is the first putting putter that has peaked my interest. How does it compare off the tee to the proxy?

  13. I've never seen any of your content before, but I'll be coming back for more. Pure content, no fluff. Great stuff! How is the bead in relation to a judge?
