The Asian Tour is the official body for Professional Golf in Asia, leading development of golf across the region & enhancing the careers of its members while maintaining a commitment to the integrity of the game.

Welcome to Malaysia home to over 200 golf courses a golfing destination for enthusiasts in Asia and all around the world it’s also the destination of the 14th leg of the Asian development tour the pkns salango Masters made a return to Malaysia’s sporting calendar after an 8-year absence the popular tournament is

Also part of the country’s plans to rejuvenate its sporting scene I hope with the organizing of these events that we can promote slango more and it’s not just focusing on the sports activity or tourism activity but I hope it’s a give and opportunity for our young Talent Malaysia especially to show

Their talents and ability to contest in competitive golf tournaments and with only two more lucrative events left after this week the pkns salango Masters will play a key role in determining the all important top 10 on the ADT order of Merit launched in 2010 the ADT sanctioned by the Asian tour creates a

Breeding ground for emerging Stars across Asia and around the world so this is how the order of Merit looks following the combi part Players Championship Su prati penai who’s won three of his last four events in the ADT currently sits at to the standings but hot on his heels his fellow Countryman

Chon latit wenam with a prize fund of over $150,000 on offer this week there’s all to play for as the players in the top 10 at the end of the season will earn playing rights on the Asian tour for 2023 I’m currently uh ring 10 in the

Order of Merit um and sometimes it’s it’s on my mind I when when I’m on the course but I have to give myself the best chance as I could uh I cannot control everyone else I can I just can control myself so and just give my best and see what

Happens being the first year on tour I don’t really have any expectations I just Tred to do the best I can and uh you know you still got to go out there and play solid golf you just got to go out there and make cuts and try to climb

The leaderboard just do all the same things that got me in the position in the first place I think everyone’s feeling a b pressure especially in that top 20 cuz I mean even if you don’t get into top 10 you still get uh into final

Stage of agent Q score so I mean there’s there’s there always pressure but you want to come in here with low expectations and just outperform and just try and let your go through the talking with so much at stake let’s take a look at how things stand after 54 hes

Sharin arifin taking a share of the lead into the final round looking to become the first Malaysian since Ben Leong in 2008 to win the Sango Masters he’s at 800 power alongside Tai denit Buri buub well a very good afternoon and a warm welcome to your final round highlights

From the pkns Sango Masters I’m Timothy loo glad you could join us here at cab golf Ser Sango it’s a p 71 this week bang on 6900 y it should be a cracking final day so with that let’s get you up to speed and what’s happened already on

Saturday morning here in Vincent younger brother of Asian tour Champion Scott Vincent bogied his opening Hall that was for Eagle at the sixth but a simple tap in birdie his fourth in a 5old stretch to take him to three underbar playing alongside him the order of Merit leader suat prati tieni skated

This Eagle attempt well past on the six but he would go on to pop that one in for a birdie his first of the day big Australian Jack Murdoch his second shot into the opening hole Nestle this one in tight for an opening biry he would go on to Birdie

The par 56 as well playing alongside the Aussie was the opening round leader Amir nazrin t-shot found some tree trouble had to punch out sideways that was for an opening drop shot for the Malaysian to the most experienced campaigner in the field Danny Chia just

Bogie the fifth that was an eagle but at the six so he would balance the books getting him back to six underpath your 54 hole co-leader dwit Buri buub starting the day at 8 under far signal his intentions early with this cracking second shot into the opening hole to take the outright [Applause] Lead Shari foodin arifin his second shot to the five Fifth and it was a good one the home fans something to cheer about setting up an eagle opportunity in side of Buri buub who had this crack for Eagle first just slipping by the low side for the

Tie however the same fate would befall aiin no Eagle there for the Malaysian but a first birdie of the day keep him one shot behind dwit bully Puna As We join the action this final round in sangor There’s a Filipino at the pointy end of the leaderboard as well Lloyd Jefferson go lost in a playoff at the ADT event in Vietnam a couple of months back he’s five under par and looking to take advantage of the scoreable P 56 and that’s a terrific second shot an eagle opportunity

Awaits now Jack Murdoch already birdied the sixth going along nicely today just short of the seven greens are slippery today just a shade over 11 on the stimp meter that’s a little testy one left for Murdoch now dwit ran into some trouble off the tea found the foliage punched

Out sideways this now his fourth to the scorable par five don’t really want to be giving up a shot here oh and he’s not going to delightful touch from the tie important but to try to preserve the momentum for Jack Murdoch oh frustrating bogey there for the Aussie now sh food

In quick left to right slider for an eagle o great effort simple tap in birdie we’ll moveing alongside Buri buub now suti part in the sand at 8 not much green to work with everything downhill running away from him mistake was with the t- shot there for prati tieni now Lloyd Jefferson go

There’s one over on the card this to flip the script get to one under ooh just running out of steam prti tiai the comebacker for par is it going to get there is it going to get there Oh short in the Jaws for suti parts so there’s par at the top of the

Leaderboard buy bun and aiin with a little daylight from Danny chair and Lloyd Jefferson go now dwit from the top of the hill at the power for seventh a long lazy golf swing but certainly very efficient produces lots of power but that one is going to feed off

To the lower left hand side of the green it’s going to be a lengthy birdie P left for Buri buub so the door is slightly a jar for the hometown boy reefin from a similar spot so hard to try to keep that ball on the higher right tier of the green

Anything left will feed down but that’s excellent now the Englishman Joe hery let’s make the turn this is second shot to 10 so 389 yd Par Four to start the back nine that’s only about 2 feet away so a pretty much a gimme birdie there for Joe

Now super slow part for dwit coming up this Steep Hill at the seventh oh well it’s not that hard is it straight in it goes for a third birdie of the afternoon for Den wit Buri buub now Danny chair struggled in the ddrums over the last couple years but

Good to see the stalwart veteran of Malaysian golf playing well again that’s a nice scrambly far at the eighth to keep him in a tie for third at six under now can Sharif foodin match dwit oh he certainly can he’s walked that one in with confidence what a tussle at the

Top we’re having thumbs up from Buri buub acknowledging his playing Partners fine play her for the simplest of starts to the inward half a nice birdie there getting him back to one underpath for this final round so a Titanic tussle at the top Sharif foodin arifin and denit

Buri buub deadlocked at 11 under par t- shot now at the eighth for Sharif foodin 189 yd par three pin today on the left hand side of the green this one hitting well left and ooh is a big runoff there and that’s going to go feeding off down towards the cart part

So a bit of a miscue there for Rin now Kieran Vincent’s t-shot on 10 found the penalty area to the right of the Fairway this now for par for Kieran and it’s not going to drop for the Zimbabwean now pitching from well below the level of the putting surface here in

The eth he’s got room to work with oh just needed to carry a touch more and that’s still not on the putting surface and somewhere up in the foliage left of 10 it’s Danny cheer not going to bring a smile to his face and that’s compounded the error

Coming up well short there on 10 so problems to start the back nine for Danny Lloyd not a bad spot to be chipping from from the front edge of eight Prett makeable Chip gave that a run and he wishes he didn’t cuz that’s certainly not Stone dead for par good to see some

Spectators gathered around to watch the final round drama unfold reang or will it be arifin that gives them something to cheer for at the end of play today o that one goes wandering on by you have that left for bogey Danny Chia his adventures at 10

Continuing that’s not bad at all for Dan he made a great pass save on eight he’ll be Keen for another one to start his inward half oh bully bun up can smell blood in the water here this one goes in it’s a two- shot swing it’s not a million miles away oh

Great effort there for Den wit with the struggles of his playing partner in Co leader he’ll be heading to the ninth t with at least a one shot lead now come on Danny pop this one in wow that zipped left right in front of the

Cup that’s going to be a drop shot for one of the players at 6 under this is the other Lloyd Jefferson go downhill slider spins out of the cup so the pair at six under both Drop shots Jefferson go goes back to one overp par for his final round but it’s

Denwick Buri buub who leads by one with 10 holes to play Yeah You’re watching the final round highlights of the pkns salango Masters an event that was previously on the Asian tour schedule now one of the most popular tournaments on the Asian development tour calendar and one of the aims of the ADT is to provide a stepping stone for the players to get on to

Bigger and better things it’s fantastic uh that we are having the slango Masters this year the Masters is held on a golf course which belongs to PES and of course before the tournament we got to prep up the the C uh in addition to that PS has got a

Important role to play in promoting Golf and also promoting young players uh so that one day uh it is our hope that uh our players will be in the international TS so what else has been going on round three Sango while we were away well Kieran

Vincent this is t-shot at the 175 yd path 3 12 nestling up close he would go on to pop that one in for a birdie to get to four under par that was his sixth birdie of the day lyd Jefferson go with this for birdie at the 10th to get back to level

Pegging on his round canned that right to left curler got it back to six under par now Danny CH well a bogy at the 10th but a birdie at 11 trying to keep that momentum going an excellent t-shot of his own at the 12 he would go on to make

That part and another birdie at the 13th before dropping a shot at 14 now then with buruna Boog the 10th hole to start the back nine almost drove the 11th green so just a little pitch and run from the front edge of the green a nice

Bounce back birdie to get back into sole possession of the lead at 11 underpar but there were problems for Shaha fudin Arif in second shot at the par five 13th finding the penalty area that was a putt for bogy a double bogy seven now leaves the Malaysian three off the

Lead but dwit would give one shot back after a poor second shot into the par three 14th left him with this ticklish downhiller for par it wouldn’t drop and the bogy would give some hope to the Malaysian like this for par at the same Hall and with a par three closes the Gap

To two with just four holes left to play very much a two horse race you’d have to say with Danny cha only having three holes left to play in this final round will it be Buri buub or will it be this man sh foodin Arin second shot now to the

15th pins in the right section of the screen right about there brilliant shot for Shari fudin now Danny Chia his countryman not taking relief off the cart path this now is third to the 16th it’s played a very crafty little bump and run from an awkward spot it’s

Going to go trundling on by but not too bad all things considered now B buun sub tricky part here you can see that pin perch at the top of a little Mound on green was tricky to try and get these Stone dead keep coming keep coming wonder who’s going to be away

Dwit or Sharif foodin now Danny for his part at 16 oh how dare you how dare you stay out of the cup for Danny chair that’s a shame now big moment here compile the pressure on Buri buub is to get to line under P raised ball deposited in the front

Edge and the local fans are starting to make their voices heard so HRI buub to preserve a One-Shot lead huge pressure on this for dwit and that one oo it’s almost the same length coming back he would pop that one in for a Bogi so once

Again parity at the top it’s been a Topsy Turvy Saturday afternoon in this final round Sher foodin momentum squarely in his Corner second shot to the 16th and that one hung out to dry on the right side of the green it’s going to be a quick little chip for him now Kieran

Vincent at the closing hole what a round he’s put together today this to end it off in style a birdie look at the home Hall no Den witht just off the front left of the green at the 16th tricky one everything running away in the last third of that

Chip he’s done well but the pter is going to come under pressure again for dwit suti part prati tiai not going to be a fourth win in five starts in the ADT for suti part and it’s not going to be a par at the 18 so he’ll end his week at level par

Now Shari foodin well back in the stance lots of sha lean just trying to play a little bump and run here trickle it down use the Contours and the slickness of these greens that are running at 11 on the stimp and that’s nicely done now Gregory

Fu for a par at the 18th celebrating his birthday this afternoon and that’s a nice way to end off one underpar total for the Singaporean now dwit to avoid three Drop shots in a row and unfortunately his grip on this trophy is starting to slip the head starting to

Spin but Sharif foodin arifin now one clear with just two holes to play but what of the other contenders in the hotly contested battle for third place Lloyd Jefferson go he’s dazzled us with some brilliant shots in this final round this is third to the

17th in it went to take the the Filipino to seven under [Applause] par the Australian Jack Murdoch started with a birdie this at the 18th to end with one in it went for an even par round of 71 to leave him at four underpar and

Danny Chia well this was for par at the 18th a 71 as well for the Malaysian who ends his week at 6 under denwick Buri buub needed something special to happen on the 72nd hole didn’t leave anything in the locker with that t-shot but a concerned look and

Cries of four tell the story that one well off line at the closing hole the momentum the advantage and the lead very much with Sharif fudin arifin coming up the par 48 and the t-shot has been safely negotiated for Shari foodin anything just right of this pin he’ll take it

Don’t bring that water up the left into play oh that’s nice that’s very nice inching his way closer to what would be a very popular homeown win here in Malaysia this to end it off in style a birdie look to finish the week at 10 under not going to be the grand stand

Finish but a two part par we’ll get the job done Lloyd for third place on his own that’s kind of been the story of his day really one step forward one step back it’s going to be a drop shot at the last it’s going to be a share of third

Place with Danny J 6 underp total for Lloyd Jefferson go another good week on the Asian development tour now this a bogey put for Den wit it’s really been a nightmare back nine of sorts for the tie but he’ll be back he’s got too much quality to not win on

The Asian development maybe even the Asian T but a one over pass 72 for Buri buub and a solo second place finish but it’s all about this man Sharif fudin arifin for a two- shot win and it’s a HomeTown victory for the Malaysian who picks up the pkns Sango

Masters trophy a terrific performance a wonderful week and a two- shot margin of victory for Shari foodin arifin who lifts ADT silverware for the first time in 2022 I feel so much great right now and since I 208 my last champion in ADT right now is

2022 I become the champion again so I’m very very happy and then my goal is to go to Asian tour and that privilege of teeing it up on the Asian tour in 2023 will go to the top 10 on the order of Merit AR fins Victory now moves him into third on that

Money list narji still hanging on to the 10th and final spot congratulations shariin arifin your champion this week at the pkns Sango Masters see you next time on the Asian development Tour
