ABOUT ME
I’m Andrew Jensen, a former full time touring professional that played on PGA TOUR Canada, Latinoamerica and almost every North American based mini tour since 2008. I want to use my playing experience to inspire golfers to improve their own game and have more fun with this amazing game we play!

So I’ve retired a lot of wedges over my playing career and in the last 6 months I’ve tested even more for the channel but in my hand right here I think I have the best wedge that I’ve probably ever used and it’s a golf club that I guarantee you you’ve probably never even

Heard about so these are the surgeon wedges from Gabe golf Gabriel head former PGA Tour player PGA Tour winner turned coach short game Guru wizard he works with a lot of PJ tour players he was part of the team that Revitalize and Rev Victor hin short game and I don’t

Know if you recall last year his short game was phenomenal and he won the FedEx Cup did a lot of great things with the wedges and around the greens Gabe is an absolute wizard short game mind and Coach and he’s transitioned into making wedges to kind of marry with all that

Short game knowledge you maybe remember me mentioning him in in previous videos this is the Gabe golf swing trainer I made a video about it when I made a kind of training aid video but I’ve been using his training aid his his swing trainer since like 2015 been

Following him for for all of that time never really had any communication with him but he saw the video and he was like Andrew thank you so much for the video do you want some wedges I want to get these wedges in some good players hands

And I was like uh yes I do yes I Do so a little bit about the wedges I’ve got two here these are the two he makes the 5612 and the 6109 that’s Loft and bounce a little bit different I’ve never used a 61° wedge but hey if a short game Guru if one of the best short game lines

In the game makes a 61 degree wedge uh I’m definitely going to try it mil face the grooves look like so good there’re just like they look and they are they’re so sharp but really nice looking mil face pretty straight Leading Edge you know if you’ve watched my videos my

Wedge reviews I love a straighter Leading Edge little bit of heel relief which instantly when I first looked at it I didn’t love it but when when I got it out on the golf course I don’t really see it so it doesn’t uh you know doesn’t

Bother my eye and as I’ve played with them I understand why there’s a little bit of relief here in the heel because it just allows better playability and better performance but it’s the grind the grind of these things is is special I mean if a PGA Tour winner player coach

Makes his own grind in a wedge obviously there’s going to be high high high performance there’s going to be a lot you can do with it and having followed him on Instagram for as long as I have and seeing when he makes little videos just with little tips or he talks about

Things he’s doing with his players out on tour these wedges marry what he’s teaching and doing so well this sorry the grind in particular cuz one thing you may or may not know on the PJ tour players go into the tour trucks and they their grind of their wedge is very

Important to them and it’s not going to necessarily be an off- the rack grind they’re going to do things given course condition I conditions and situations and and shots they’re working on to kind of work on the heel relief the toe relief the flange the Leading Edge all

Those things but this grind is a special grind and the 56 it’s still there too there’s a lot of thought and a lot of attention a lot of care into the grind just giving you a little bit of bounce on that Leading Edge for a bit of

Forgiveness but you can you can lay these things wide open and it doesn’t seem scary like literally this I can lay this like this and it looks like I can still slide under under it and believe me I’ve tried it I’ve got this out there and I’m just like what how does this

Even happen like on the driving range just a tough tight lie just throw the ball down and look can just lay it completely flat pop this thing straight up in the air the performance of that grind is remarkable before I was testing them or really diving into the numbers

Of them heck before I did anything with them I just put them in the bag and I went and play and I played a shorter course that day I hit a lot of wedges and and uh yeah what a great way to test these out and out on the golf course I

Mean I played great I I don’t play a lot of golf anymore and I certainly don’t practice as much as I used to and to put new wedges in the bag can be a bit daunting because you’re like uh if I don’t do what I’m supposed to do this

Could be pretty embarrassing I could I could hit some really bad shots around the greens or with my wedges and there was a couple bad ones I thinned a couple but I mean I was able to flight these things and spin them and stop them on a

Dime I hit one shot not on camera that was like a 60 yard kind of on a hanging line my ball back in the stance and it just floated in there low stopped a foot short of the hole and it was like a tap in birdie and then I had a couple little

Shorter shots and it was like wow the performance was so stinking good I was I was so impressed and then I had to take them into the studio and just see if the numbers match the performance out there to fully warrant putting these in the golf bed you heard me reference I don’t

Play a lot of golf anymore it’s an unfortunate truth but it’s where I’m at in my life right now but I still still care very deeply about my body and my performance on the golf course and that’s why since about February of last year I’ve been using the pliability app

Noticing huge huge gains uh just with my overall flexibility range of motion and Mobility my golf swing is legitimately longer and more flexible at 39 years old than it’s ever been and that’s due in large part to the app they’re focusing heavily on Golf and there’s a whole golf

Program on the app with Pathways your golf swing golf longevity recovery golf armor specifically targetting for a golfer to warm up with or to cool down with take a Mobility test when you download the app I actually never did I totally kind of overlooked it and just

Dove straight in I did a Mobility test this past week but I definitely have limitations so I’m going to Target those limitations so that I can improve my overall Mobility you just have a longer golf career so download the app down below 7-Day free trial I have a really

Good feeling that it’ll help your golf swing and your golf game and liability thank you so much for all you do for me and for my channel a little bit of context when it comes to numbers for me personally I’ve traditionally been a high launch low spin wedge player which

Is not good that’s not good you want to be able to kind of control your launch launch it lower spin it a lot because that allows you to control the height the flight the distance everything especially in windier conditions and me over the years because that was kind of

A struggle of mine my wedge play was very inconsistent um to bad and that’s why my professional career was inconsistent to bad because if you can’t control your wedges you’re getting lapped by the feel you need to capitalize when you have wedges in your hands give yourself you

Know good looks at birdie you need to be able to kind of control that flight for those pitches and those 50 yard 60 yard shots and that’s just something that I was super inconsistent with but I’ve been working really hard as I’ve educated myself on what needs to get

Better with my wedges so what am I looking for in these numbers I’m looking for controlled launch enough spin Great Peak height and good angle of descent because if it’s launching low and you can flight it low but it’s Landing tooo low that’s not that’s not good the

Number that I kind of test with is a 90 yard shot with the 60° and 105 yard shot with the 56° because both of those are like my 3/4 flighted tight yardages with those clubs those are the yardages that I want because it’s the yardage that I

Can best control flight and distance and those are the yardages that I would lay up to because I want to be able to try to have the best chance at making a birdie here we go 89.7 and carry boss Club speeds really good but look at that spin

10,667 that’s a lot of spin but that’s either really concerning or really good when you look at the launch you look at the peak height you look at the angle of descent it’s good it’s really really good like I was I cool the performance that I saw out on the golf course at

Like 60 70 yards I was able to translate into 90 yards to controlling the height still having it spin a lot but not detrimental then if we look at the 105 yard 56 degree yardage is great Club speed ball speed that’s all good spin is still really good like over 10,000 Peak

Height really good angle of descent really really good launch 28.2 de so it’s like if you can if you can launch your wedges 27 28 29 Dees you’re really doing yourself a great service in becoming a great wedge player when I was playing I was launching my wedges

Probably more than like 32 to 33 degrees and I was struggling to get 10,000 RPM so that’s why it was harder to be a consistent and to strong wedge player like if you go watch a PJ Tour event you be blown away at How Low tour players

Hit their wedges when we you’re learning the game you think the most LOF they go really high that’s how they land soft well no they land soft because they’re hitting a great height with a lot of Spin and it it’s just it’s really really fun to watch tour players hit wedges low

Like that was one of the things when I was playing on the Canadian tour I’d watch the guys Le leading every week after I missed a cut and it’s like they’re keeping their wedges kind of like under the tree line if you will and I I wasn’t it’s a bit of technique it’s

A little bit of equipment I’ve worked on all of those things but I feel like I found the wedge that allows me to do exactly that the numbers are just like they’re perfect the look of them is so good the grind the so the performance the playability there’s just like

Nothing they can’t do I mean going back to the spin like this is the ball that I I tested I tested with like look at it it’s destroyed they’re just they’re surgeons like they’re just so good they live up to the name it’s destroyed the golf ball like that’s a lot of wedges

But that just speaks to how much spin you’re generating with those shots and I’ve seen it on the golf course it’s it’s Gabe these are remarkable and I would imagine there’s a lot of players especially gab’s players whatever their Club contracts are that have probably

Just said hey copy this head in my wedge because the grind the face all all of it is so stinking good I mean the training aid is remarkable but now when one of the best short game coaches in the game is making wedges I think they’d be

Really worth your time and money if you’re a player that’s you know a better player that wants to be able to do more with wedges from the Fairway rough and around the greens can’t can’t say enough good things about these wedges and that’s why it’s like it’s unequivocally

Earned a spot in my bag these These are really stinking good

  1. Great find! I felt the same way when I put my Artisan wedges in the bag. I don't really think myself a good wedge player but I was pulling off some crazy shots that I'd never dreamed of before.

  2. I put new vokeys in the bag at the end of 2022. I didn't play much last year so they are in great shape yet. I'll give these a look anyway. Sooner or later I'll need freshies. I'm in the same boat high launch lower spin. The ball floats or flutters a bit so the carry distances become inconsistent. By the end of 2023 it was more consistent on the launch angle and the spin went up. I don't know about you, but I found really working on launching them lower helped a ton. Played really well at the end of last year because of it.
