CJ Stroud and Lamar Jackson are facing off in the Divisional Round but what do Colin & Nick have to say about them? Will Jalen Hurts ever be the QB he was last year or was the Super Bowl run an outlier? If the Dallas Cowboys fire Mike McCarthy, should Bill Belichick take the job?

Welcome to the official YouTube channel for the Colin coward podcast go on hit the Subscribe button there you go right down there if you want to be among the first to hear my weekly takes NFL college football more right there all right Nick Wright we try to
Bring him on as often as we can so I’m gonna start with something that um I think you’ll like okay that’s a great place to start yeah I mean why opposed to starting with something that really pisses you off yeah exact I mean yeah let’s start off on a good foot by the
Way I’ve decided this podcast I’m drinking wine I’ve decided to go classy I figure you’re going some this hard liquor by the end you’re gonna be slurring I’m going wine I’m going Diet Coke so oh I’m drinking alone oh that was not part of the deal now you’re
Really gonna have the the upper hand by the end of this thing but go ahead so um I’ve kind of stayed out of all Aaron Rogers political opinions and vaccine I can disagree with stuff but I also believe Aaron has a right to an opinion I can disagree desting opinion I
Don’t really care but I think there is a personality trait a couple of them with Aaron that are fairly obvious number one he doesn’t like Authority he struggled with his parents his brother uh Green Bay’s front office he he pushes back on the media the government that’s okay I
Mean I when I was a kid growing up that was known as a liberal a hippie in the 60s right so I’m I’m okay with that the other one is Aaron is absolutely sure he’s the smartest guy in the room and and it comes across in every interview
Think about this forget all the government vaccine stuff Robert Kennedy conspiracy theories look at his football decision he chose an offense a defensive coach not a successful offensive coach because he wanted the Jets he liked the Jets they have one player Garrett Wilson that could start for the Packers one Green
Bay has the friendliest offensive salary cap for the next five years they’re not paying either tight end five receivers the offensive line all five start over the Jets even Aaron Jones to me is a bigger stronger version of Bree Hall so his football decisions stink that he really really
Believed Jets is going to be a great fit they have one player if Garrett Wilson twists his ankle they don’t have a player that can start for the Packers when you watch Green Bay beat Dallas if you don’t believe it’s a fluke and you believe it’s players that game wasn’t
Competitive Green Bay is stacked with Talent well there C so there’s a lot of Green Bay angles here to go to there’s a fun remind me once we get on with the Roger stuff to ask you a Jordan love question that I was asked today so all
Right you sat on the front end don’t care about Aaron roders you know political opinion stances vaccine status I I don’t either and he in my opinion uses that as a shield meaning any criticism of him he’s like oh you don’t like me he is using the fact that some
People criticized him about being unvaccinated I think more people criticized him about lying about it and then any negative attention he gets he can be like oh that’s not because you’re actually engaging with what I’ve done you hate me for this reason which is just nonsense because Lamar Jackson’s
Never been more popular I don’t think he was vaccinated Kurt Cousins is one of the most well-liked post quarterback series for the quarterbacks in the league I know he’s not vaccinated so it’s not about that but it is this is someone who’s you know in your life or
Someone that you know a family member who’s like yeah nobody invites me around anymore CU they don’t want to hear the truth and it’s like no it’s because you’re an like it’s it’s not it’s not our failing it’s yours so so that stuff does irritate me I’m not
Going to act like it doesn’t but as you cannot in modern America not have people in your life that you love care about and spend time with that have different opinions on be it covid the upcoming election a lot of things like you nobody
Is that in a bubble so we all know how to deal with people we disagree some of the people we love and care about the most so that’s not it now you mentioned the football thing so I think that was ego I don’t think it was purely I think the Jets are better
Than the Packers I think it was he probably underrated what the Packers could be because they were mediocre last year with him and he doesn’t have the self-awareness to be like well I was mediocre last year like you weren’t getting a plus Aaron Rodgers last year
And in fact there was a great moment when he was on McAfee last season when I think it was after the first Lions game or something when the Packers were before they had started winning those games where he just kind of says out of nowhere he’s like yeah and you know my
Coach said that was my highest graded Game of the Year and a lost and it’s like oh this guy just can’t acknowledge that he might be part of their team struggling so I think that’s the first part of it and the second part of it is
I think he thought okay well it doesn’t matter what the Jets have once they have me they’ll be awesome and I think that’s one thing for Aaron to be that and by the way that might have been true a decade ago it’s not true at 39 in the
AFC in that com you know what I mean that division but uh it’s another thing for the Jets a year into the experience now they are not getting the Aaron Rodgers they thought they were getting whatever they thought they were they’re getting a player a year older off in Achilles a
Year more removed from football from good football I mean that game Jordan love played was the best quarterbacks best quarterback play the Packers have gotten in a playoff game in seven years yeah look it up that was the and now he played phenomenally so that would it’s a
High bar so I think it is ego and being delusional like I I know this probably makes you a little uncomfortable because I often use you when I’m talking to you in analogies but I think you know you made a decision in your career almost a decade ago to go
From a more stable place to not quite a startup whatever it is I would I would argue that would be maybe a poor decision for 70-year-old Colin coward to make right to be like you know what I’m you know I can carry and build this new thing Aaron’s 70 in football years to
Think I can you know go LeBron the Cavs the second time around this for the Jets no you can’t and so I just yeah I think that I think the Jets are I looked around the league Mike Vel been to an AFC title game gotten the one seed with
Tennessee couple down years not good enough we got to move on Bill bellich obviously won six Super Bowls went to nine also went to the playoffs with M Jones two down years not good enough gotta move on uh the other coach that was just fired after two bad years I’ll
Remember it it was doesn’t matter but we’re talking about you know all these coaches moving on and then you look at the Jets who it’s like well our coach wins 30% of his games has two career wins against the division has been there three years good enough let’s stay there
You look at these coaches where it wasn’t good enough and then you look at Bob Salah who they’re like yeah let’s run that back and it’s because that’s what Aaron wants and so then you do have to ask yourself the question it is what Aaron wants right now the best chance at
Win winning or the most power possible do I want the best coach I can get or do I want a coach who knows the reason he has the job is thanks to me and therefore I run the whole operation yeah I always feel in sports and in our business it’s wins like in
Our business I don’t care about anything other than in radio my revenue is great right now highest ad rates I’ve ever had and in TV my ratings are my highest the volume were crushing like to me it’s not about me it’s about the unit if the unit’s good that exerts pressure on
Everybody around you because nobody wants to break up winning right if you’re winning and and and your show by the way is doing great nobody wants to screw that up right they want to extend it so to Aaron it’s it’s it’s really crazy did he have the forethought with
All these super young players for Green Bay he saw them he saw dobs and Christian Watson he knew they were talented did he not think Jesus if I hang around here for three years you don’t have to pay him these are tremendous players I mean Aaron has to have some like in the
Easier conference and and and and a lot of a lot of factors there and so I I don’t think that I don’t think he thought those guys were that good because they didn’t succeed last year and he can’t I don’t think he has the self-awareness to be like how much of
That was on me if you operate from a place of I am always excellent I am always producing excellence and the results aren’t excellent then I think you’re like well this place sucks listen if Brady was in New England and they would have had dos Christian wat
Watson Jen Reed this year I know Aaron didn’t have but yeah but go ahead Tom wouldn’t have left Tom was too smart Tom left I remember specifically on the sidelines during a New England game when he yelled at the receivers just open yeah his problem was New England’s
Last seven drafts with belich two pro bowlers W’s a punter yeah Tom would have stayed he was frustrated I was told he was frustrated for three years before he left the idea and by the way where did Tom choose Mike Evans Chris Godwin Bruce arens where did Stafford choose McVey
Cooper cup Andrew Whitworth Aaron literally left this Bevy of super super talented kids saw them Knew by the way in the in the following draft they were going to go heavy tied end and it was all you had to do was go to one mock draft it was the best tight end class
When he was leaving like and Green Bay they drafted two I think but in the second round or third so the takeaway is did Aaron ever get out of himself and go this is all about having the right pieces when PT Manning chose Denver go look at their pieces their o line their
Receiver their tight end it is remarkable that he didn’t look at all that Green Bay talent that was on display Sunday now some of it hadn’t been drafted yet and go God look how good they are now what are they going to be in a year hi everybody game time is

With my son and he about six weeks ago so we watched obviously the Packers game on Thanksgiving together and then I was shortly after Thanksgiving I was in LA and he and I watched Packers Chiefs together and after that Packers Chiefs game he said to me he’s like I’m going
To be a Jordan love guy I’m like really he’s like I he’s like I think he can be awesome and this was before he really got super RedHot and I was like all he’s like he’s gonna be my guy he’s like I’m gonna plant my flag that that guy’s
Going to be awesome I like him so right now he feels like the smartest guy in the world he’s like I feel like I was the first one on it so he asked me this question he said where does Jordan love fall in the NFC quarterback hierarchy going into next year
And I was like oh man I was like now you and I like Stafford and I Stafford I think armed Talent outside of momes he may be the best armed talent in the league and he’s godamn he’s tough and he there’s the and so I so I said I don’t
Care that he lost that playoff game I thought he played really well in it I would say Stafford is one okay after that and I don’t you have I I think Jordan Love Again people are allowed new information to change their opinion new information if his sample size is is
Doubled from the Midway point of the season to now you can change in yes 64 athletic Big Arm backf foot thrower with ease erratic but so is Stafford out like burrow is rare most guys it can be IR most guys throw a lot of picks the and
So I think number two is in play it’s in play it’s not a guarantee it’s in play go ahead okay I love Kyler Murray but I have to acknowledge he’s 5’11 but I I’m a huge Kyler Murray fan I think he’s an I think he’s a better version of Russell
Wilson in his time yeah with maybe yeah maybe not as good study habits and maybe a little more polarizing at times but sure you like Kyler but the point is Dak had a legitimate MVP gase this year and now that works against him because when
You play that well it’s like embiid to a degree embiid being this good in the regular season then being so one different in the playoffs consistently all of a sudden it’s almost you’d be better off if you weren’t quite as good in the regular season because then you
Would you feel like the moment gets home so Dak stock takes a massive hit Jaylen Herz is worth a real discussion now as far as who is he so did I do when I talked to you today did I do the pton Manning thing with you no no okay all right so
People think I’m being UNF I think people believe I’m being unfair to jayen but I’m gonna talk about pton Manning for a second pton Manning was the best player was looked at as a no doubt NFL franchise quarterback in high school one the Gatorade player of the year every
Step of the way at Tennessee they’re like that guy is going to be the number one pick that guy’s a franchise quarterback as a rookie even though he threw damn near 30 picks everyone was like yep he’s got it second year he was 13 and three franchise quarterback third
Year led the league in touchdowns and uh yards franchise quarterback fourth year was the playoffs playoffs he’s six and 10 touchdowns are down interceptions way back up did anyone in that moment say to themselves oh I think he’s that guy versus who he’d been every step of the
Way up to it no everyone’s like ah weird year but I’m sure he’ll be okay right that was what people maybe they questioned him in the playoffs or whatever I don’t even think that had really started yet they were like that guy is a franchise quarterback okay
What’s the opposite of that a guy who was a tweener coming out of high school it’s like ah we’ll see at college is he a yeah I we’ll see at a second college and when we’re talking about is he a franchise quarterback ah we’ll see in the draft second third rounder as a
Rookie nah kind of a tweener as a secondy year player ah kind of a tweener third year holy this guy’s awesome he’s in the Super Bowl dropping dimes as a fourth year player H I don’t know well so now now it’s like okay if when a guy has a body of work of
Seven years of amateur and pro ball of being a clearcut gonna be a franchise quarterback in one bad year we don’t say He’s the bad version of himself if the guy got six years of body of work of I’m not sure if that’s an NFL quarterback
And one year where you know he is does that then make you pause for a moment it does for me it it does for me a little bit and so I don’t it’s not that I think Jaylen is like a bad player or was the biggest problem with Philly but I do
Think there’s it is fair to question will we look at 10 years into his career as last season as not only the best season he ever had but an outlier as a year that he was not able to recapture and if you’re an Eagles fan that’s scary
Because they paid him based on that’s going to be the standard not the Super Bowl every year but that’s going to be the standard yeah I mean it’s I wonder sometimes if we don’t give so Marino had schula Brady mostly had Josh McDaniels McDaniels yep um be it quarter back or
Offensive coordinator there’s two things you have to get right in the NFL Pittsburgh can’t get either right and they have a good head coach quarterback and OC um because most offensive coaches don’t call their own plays so Pittsburgh can’t get either of those right they get everything else on the roster right the
Culture the toughness the pass R everything quarterback o they haven’t had a good OC since arens in 2011 and a good quarterback OC combined since that year so do we ever consider we know quarterbacks are more important than coaches and coordinators but it is interesting when you start inspecting
The great quarterbacks like the great actors they mostly work with the same writer or director Bradley Cooper Leonardo decaprio Tom Hanks they’re like yeah I’m gonna stick with that guy sure you start looking at Aman you start looking at Fouts you start looking I mean I’m talking Legends you start going
Through all these quarterbacks Mahomes has always had Reed that’s his Guru that’s his Muse you start looking at Jaylen Herz and it’s like well Lincoln Riley and Shane styken briefly outside of that like we even the great ones even momes without Andy Reid if if if he had
A defensive like right now CJ Stout’s tearing it up but he has a very good he’s and that guy’s Gonna Leave right and you make worried it do no no I’m not and I think CJ throws a beautiful effortless Ball but it is interesting that we all know we give quarterback
7030 Edge over Coach but I think if you went back and traced the top 30 quarterbacks of all time and mostly now they generally have a muse they have a singular guy that sees the world like they do and obviously probably the most famous Montana and Walsh and this is
Sneaky an argument of that the Best Is Yet To Come for Josh Allen because he had it briefly in dable yeah and you saw the best of him and then dble left and now and even right now it kind of feels like they’re just having Josh Allen run with a governor on
Him it’s like we don’t know how to get the the 300 yard passing game without the turnovers so we’re asking for 200 yards passing 75 yards you kicking every body’s ass running and just don’t turn the ball over it’s a weird and that’s go ahead his weapons are better this year I
Mean James Cook the kid from boisey state two years ago so to your point it is less about Allen now but some of that’s stable I am not saying it’s like I’ve had I’ve had 20 producers in my life radio and TV but I have probably my
Best one ever now my Show’s always been better when I have my best one but I’ve had you know I’ve had a fine career and they’re like you wilds and brussard it’s just Perfect Chemistry if one left the show would still succeed but there is a time in everyone’s life when you
Have the perfect team perfect team and you can feel it and so and there’s you can feel it and and so th this is this is like sneaky an argument that is kind of an argument as to why it’s so tough for defensive coaches to be the best hire you can make
Because like demo I think looks awesome and I think that was a great hire I think it’s inarguable but then what happens is and we’ve talked of this before your quarterback is g to be on an offensive coordinator conveyor belt because if you get a great one he eventually leaves you
Yeah if you get the wrong one you have to replace him like I forgot o Seth Payne who you played in the NFL for the Jags and the Texans does radio in Houston he tweeted not that long ago because he because he still covers the Texans now about everyone in Houston sad
Bobby slowick might get a job and he’s like the dream is that your offensive coordinator that is great with your quarterback gets a job if he gets a job that he Flames out so spectacularly back never and he can never get another one because that’s Josh McDaniels Josh
McDaniels thing in Denver was so bad Brady got him for another decade before the Raider took a chance on him in a in a weird way that’s kind of what’s happened with spags on the defensive side in Kan city that’s right spags tenure as a head coach was so
Unfortunate that it’s like okay I’m a lifetime D coordinator and and he’s like yep I’m never gonna have to worry about that side of the ball and so it’s uh so but because you’re trying to like nurture these quarterbacks like Joe burrow they’re talking about the
Callahan Guy Brian C I forget what’s his first name is Bill b well bill I don’t know if it’s Bill or Brian one was a father one’s a son I assume everyone in the NFL is related the old guy the old line Brian’s the Y yeah um that he’s
Getting head coaching jobs so is Joe burrow gonna have to learn either a new system or is it going to be so that’s tough even when you have the offensive coach like when bemy left City there’s been some growing pains for Patrick Yeah ideally you want an offensive coach you
Can win with a defensive coach but you’re going to go through offensive coordinators regularly so ideal demo is winning but they’re going to have to hire a new OC within a year what you want is McVey who has the ability as he changes an OC to kind of step in and
Kind of tweak it very quickly because these defensive coaches belich Brady laughed at belich he doesn’t even know the language of off and he’s been a football guy for 50 years so it is I think Houston’s fine and I think CJ strad will be fine but I said that how
About this I’ll throw this out there you’ll think it’s crazy I said the comp for CJ strad was Jared gof and I had said on the air multiple times nobody will acknowledge this that’s a good comp I I don’t see juice with either but I’ve always LED goof you’ve heard me I love
Goff I think he’s a top 10 guy but Goff inherited a disaster by the second year he had McVey and Whitworth a left tackle Stroud got the good coach initially and the good left tackle if you go to golf second-year numbers they’re Stroud’s rookie numbers oh that’s interesting yeah see
So I don’t the the comp there is tough for me just because strout is so much more juice in his arm than gof does and so like to me the upside for Stroud is higher than goff’s ever was but um that was Lance zerine a Houston guy that made
The comp and and he said listen after the Georgia game when CJ Stroud ran it’s like there’s your juice like Herbert and the Rose Bowl oh he can run too but the comp is really good pocket throwers really accurate better in the pocket than moving though they can move but it
Is interesting gf’s second year coach left tackle and a couple weapons they’re the same numbers actually I think he has a few more touchdowns golf second year but it’s just golf inherited nonsense and I did and I said gol’s not good enough to overcome nonsense and I said
With with with with Stout he’s not good enough to overcome nonsense he didn’t inherit nonsense great OC Great left tackle good weapons good coach so we still don’t know the truth of that it’s easy to say well st’s amazing but demo Ryan was so I remember talking to
Somebody inside the Niners they’re like we made this guy like defensive controller by the next year like should we make him coordinator he was there for like an hour and a half like Deo was a rock listen I was I was in Houston covering the Texans when he was a player
When he was a player people said he’s going to be a head coach yeah like the and I’ll get another I forget who tweeted it but somebody tweeted I think if I owned an NFL team and I was interviewing for head coaches I would only interview nerds or linebackers it’s
Like the it’s like the the player like people love Antonio Pierce rael’s been good deo’s been awesome and then like there’s the Mike McDaniel Kyle Shanahan Sean F like I’m a genius at 28 years old I can figure it out he’s like those are the two lanes either a linebacker and
Dan Campbell’s not a linebacker he’s tight end but he’s kind of a linebacker at Heart Like a linebacker mentality or a nerd I loved it you know um one of the things that I uh and I think we both like this sort of the theories of sports I I I
Um I find Lamar Jackson fascinating and there’s there’s so many comps with Lamar but I think what I like most about Lamar Lamar is that your opinion of Lamar will tell me everything about you the person because in order to love Lamar you can’t be rigid you have to
Accept initial opinions are wrong including your own because Lamar is now an elite pocket passer Lamar wins 80% of his games Lamar and Josh Allen Mahomes is maybe the more refined quarterback Lamar and Josh are the hardest players to frankly defend because when they want to run it’s kind of you can’t do
Anything about it they’re bigger faster stronger than other people and that what’s fascinating about Lamar when people tell me they don’t like Lamar it doesn’t tell me anything about Lamar it tells me about the person that you struggle with change that you struggle with things that aren’t conforming to
Your initial view if you go into Lamar this this whole thing about the pocket quarterback if you watch football you can’t tell me he can’t throw from the pocket he doesn’t have a top tight end it’s obj a rookie to a rookie in a second-year guy he literally is so dangerous that
San Francisco’s Warners and boses and Chase Youngs are afraid to rush him is that Lamar is a classic it’s it’s it’s like if you tell me you vote for Trump I don’t need to know I can kind of frame who you are and what matters to you if
You tell me you don’t like Lamar it’s like they used to joke every sport writer ever loves spring team right I think they yeah it’s a profile for it and so it is funny with Lamar when I watch him play I can’t imagine not saying oh that’s one of the top three
Three guys in the league but it is amazing how many people still struggle with him well I think it’s two things one is I think you’re right like there is a level of uh either rigidity or I’m convinced the it’s not the same but it’s people
Who even you know two MVPs and a championship in were like ah not sure about Steph Curry not sure if that can win in the NBA it’s like oh that couldn’t win in the NBA that you that used to exist and that maybe you wish
Came back but in today’s NBA that can be one of the three best players in the league that style that Pro that that thing and you just want to accept that the world or the game has changed the Lamar thing is almost has felt for his whole career a little more nefarious
There’s almost a level of it’s not just that he’s black but it’s that the way he carries himself and that he is so unashamedly himself that some people have been like I I don’t want that guy to be the best play the best quarterback
In the league or the MVP in a level that other black quarterbacks didn’t threaten them the same way like momes or other guys that there were like okay no no no yeah that’s that’s more okay so there was to me always a level of that but
Then there also is the level of people have a really hard time doing what I think you do really well and some for somehow people give you for it which is hey guess what changed my mind like hey I thought this I watched more games I saw more things and I’ve changed
My mind on something and so I think there were a lot of people that planted their flag this guy is just an athlete not a quarterback and then any Evolution he makes they won’t give him credit for or won’t want to now I want to be clear
Like I thought I was skeptical that the offensive coordinator change was going to work I thought in the loaded AFC the Ravens could miss the playoffs it’s not like I’ve been like oh my God he’s going to have this monster year but as he was
Having it I was not in denial that it was happening I wasn’t like no I mean you know what I think it’s Isaiah likely carrying him it’s like I watch the games like there is I because there’s another quarterback that I think is almost the inverse which
Is I think that people deep down don’t think is good but are either afraid of going against the numbers or they think it’s mean and so they lie to themselves and that’s Tua I think that there is a level of if you watch a lot of football you’re like well he’s a small
Doesn’t have a big arm is not if he is athletic or he’s not it doesn’t really matter because unfortunately he can’t really run because he can’t get hit because of the concussion stuff um and he needs everything perfect for it to work perfect the everything
People it was I I’ve never heard such a thing in the NFL where people just basically and I think they were serious were like yeah I know the Chiefs beat an 11- win team by 19 points but you got to almost put an asterisk on it because it
Was cold and they’re like and we all know Miami can’t deal with that like they came from Venus and it’s like like it’s like oh this is not fair this is not their climate it’s professional football players but they by the way not wrong it’s like you’re correct can’t deal with
It so all these things but there was to me a push especially about Midway through this year where folks in our profession would do almost this rhetorical thing well what more do you want him to do leads the league in passer rating leads the league in this
Stat what more does he have to do to convince you and I would listen to this and I’d be like okay either one of two things either you’re just doing uh you know a captain easy stance like this will be a popular opinion Miami fans
Will be happy for me or you I feel have a fundamental misunderstanding of how football works because what I want him to do is something I think he’s physically incapable of doing incapable of doing which is be one of the 8 to 10 human beings alive that when is bad
And you have to just make it happen you can yeah and we know he can’t right and so they it’s like what can he do unfortunately the answer is nothing like nothing like there is not and people would try to be like oh you’re underrating the what he does with his
Eyes and how he moves Defenders and I’m like you’re just bullshitting like you’re just saying all these things because you agree with me that if a game comes down to can you make the throws you don’t have the guy and so and then after this playoff loss and this is what
Would just kill me if I were Mike McDaniel after the playoff loss some of the narrative switched to okay guys I know he’s smart I know he gives good quotes but how much blame should Mike McDaniel get here and my response would be if I’m him like okay so now because I
Have gotten the absolute most anyone could ever get out of this quarterback now it has turned into it’s my fault we didn’t go further because you’ve tricked yourself into thinking we have someone we don’t have at quarterback like why do they fall apart once the weather changes and the
Teams get better because our quarterback can’t throw at 30 yards in a stiff wind right and everyone knows it everyone knows it no it is the media can be protective on that I mean it it’s it’s kind of what the media does like I John Stewart said this years ago uh just
Enough conservatives are just enough right when they say the media is in the bag for the left there’s just enough examples where you’re like yeah well you kind of it’s like they the media oversteps places that it shouldn’t you know overstep and I think sometimes the media is protective and they choose and
I think two is one of those everybody feels bad about the concussions he’s a kid of Faith he’s a nice I he’s a really nice kid he’s an easy easy guy to root for and he’s not the problem with the it’s not like I’m saying this guy’s a
Bum this guy shouldn’t be in the league but it I had a real problem just reconciling with people that I like and respect their opinion were like I think he’s the NFL’s MVP it’s like what do you you if if there was an anonymous team
Vote you think that he has 10 guys on that team that vote for not for the league MVP for dolphins MVP that vote for him over Tyreek Hill like no you don’t and it’s not even that you can’t win with him it’s that everything has to
Be perfect and the guys that it’s not a l long list of guys that things don’t have to be perfect for but those are the guys that have not all the value but a wildly disproportionate amount of the value when it comes to who can win this
Time of year uh in the NFL especially right now in the AFC where weird things going on where in the NFC you don’t really have to deal with bad weather because it’s domes and warm weather cities it’s La San Francisco Detroit Dallas Tampa I guess domes or
Warm weather the only good outdoor teams are Philly and Green Bay and they didn’t have home field this year in the AFC the only good dome team is Houston and Miami I Miami’s warm weather but then it’s Cincinnati Buffalo Cleveland Kansas City Baltimore so if you’re going to try to
Win in the playoffs and you’re in the AFC you sure better be able to go out in the cold outdoors in January and in the NFC you can build a track team be like we’re probably going to be indoors the whole way anyway that’s right draft King sports book an official sports

C L I N and the crown is yours you know I was thinking about this we JM and I got into this discussion the other day and so you know I don’t um speak you know once a year I’ll go speak to a college class I’m doing a USC USC thing
Here in February and I I do high school things I’ll speak maybe three times a year and you know one of the things I always say you know it’s kind of the same speech over and over right and one of the things I always tell young people
I may have told you don’t chase money there’s a SE of it if you’re talented Chase good management because there’s not a c yeah we’ve talked about that yeah and I I said to jmac the other day is the cowboy job a good job so you have
An owner who does radio hits and post game comments you have to answer to constantly um he thinks he’s a deao GM his son is the GM he also thinks Dak is great and should be paid in an elite class so the starting point of the job forget everything else medling
Owner and as you’ve noted there’s only one way not to win a Super Bowl average Quarterback paid like a great one you can go cheap quarterback Superstar wealthy one and my takeaway is I I don’t think the Cowboys is a great job I think the perception right now the Lakers it’s not
A great job LeBron’s run through like eight coaches Anthony Davis is inconsistent offensively so at the end of games until was LeBron in his 21st year uh it’s a mom and pop operation the Lakers have one of the poorest ownership groups in the league Steve Balmer is
Worth more than 28 of the NBA owners he could buy and sell the bus family 35 times over the Lakers is viewed as a great ch job they have no young Stars the the Cowboys is viewed as a good job and it goes back to is that
Good management is that a good job so I think it is not a great job but a good job for a few years if I were Mike Vel or Jim Harbaugh I wouldn’t want it if I were bellich and I’m like I’m really only trying to do this for three or four more
Years I would I would strongly consider it because if it’s we are all in right now you can mitigate some of the cap stuff with Dak by doing what the Saints did at the end with Breeze which is like we will deal with that in 2027 we’re doing
All you know we’re pushing it all down the road and you do have listen I think CD lamb is great I think michah Parsons is great I think Diggs is very good in coming back from an injury I I think you do have you know what I mean some good
Pieces so I don’t think it’s a great job but I don’t think great jobs are open and if you’re if you’re if people are talking about belich going to Atlanta that’s a project you know what I mean that is it might have better you you you might have more autonomy all
These things but as he knows if you don’t if if you don’t have the Bas level quarterback your DOA you know what I mean from the beginning so if I’m Bill in its short term I think I don’t think Dallas is a bad job if I’m someone who’s
Like I want a job for 10 years that’s I don’t think it’d be the right move like I but I look around and I say what job that could be open or is open is better than that one I mean I if we’re Bill I’m sure I shouldn’t say I’m
Sure but if I were bill I would have been rooting like hell for the Steelers last night because the bills is a would be a great job like you know what I mean like you go Coach Josh Allen their Cap’s not a mess you have some Talent like there are
Some better Parts there but that job’s not coming open I think Philly is about to feel some pain now Jason Kelce leaving whatever the hell is going on I’ve never seen a team treat the first quarter of a playoff game like game 17 for a four- win team they were like we
Don’t want to be here so you know that’s uh and that job’s not open yet obviously but I don’t know like if you were advising bellich of any of the jobs open or jobs that could be open where would you tell them to go I would say listen Bill you’ve shown an
Ability to win rings with an elite quarterback and no ability to win with an average Quarterback one job has a really talented quarterback the Chargers the Chargers Jaylen Herz is good maybe a bit overstated due to the shyen Shane Shane and Lincoln Riley connection that would be second but there is no
Disputing bill has shown no proclivity no ability to draft and develop well or win without a quarterback so there’s no reason to believe he can address that if you don’t have it so that’s why I wouldn’t go to Atlanta that’s why I think the Atlanta thing’s crazy or
People have talked about Washington now I understand Washington is the number two pick but that player’s got to get developed like that’s why now the other thing is this that I find interesting and people think it’s unfair but I don’t think it’s unfair and maybe Bill
Wouldn’t do this this is really just a thought exercise which is you look around the league and and I like like I’m wondering what team what teams would fire their coach if Bill called him and said that’s the job I I want to go to your team I
Know you you have like so that you know right now technically Philly as a coach I I don’t know if they will much longer I certainly if I were Jeffrey Lorry and I knew belich will take this job yeah yeah I will fire Nick serani but that’s
Almost too easy because he’s on the hot seat either way you know not as many as you think because I I have believed this for a long time um less than half of the owners want to win first less than half it may be less than a third what they
Want is profits and control the Spanos families had opportunities including this year to secede some control to Jim Harbo he the best candidate easily yeah it’s not I’m told in the building unanimous so you know in the league top 10 quarterback Elite coach you get to conference championships you’ve got one
The other wants the job yes so the only reason not to choose that would be profits and control bellich will force you and Harbaugh to have less control and these owners that is number one billionaires control people their families their businesses their employees they don’t like loss of
Control it’s like Wall Street Wall Street is is not just about earnings Wall Street is about the unknown it plummets on unknowns often a company will come out and say we are chopping 10,000 jobs the stock goes up sure okay they’re gonna have a tighter right
That’s bad news no it’s great news it’s known owners do not relinquish power there’s only a handful that would go okay I’ll relinquish power Jerry won’t Jerry had Jimmy and Bill he let them both run so so I’m gonna this is on your the on your TV show today I made up a
Fake trade essentially I’m now doing the coaching version of it which is there’s two AFC jobs that came to mind that I think are intriguing if Bill bich agent called up the owner of the Bengals and said bill you know would take that job if it were offered to
Him would you if you were the owner of the Bengals fire Zack Taylor to hire Bill Bell no no all right second one bill B’s agent calls up shod Khan says bill bellich would like to coach Trevor Lawrence would you fire Doug Peterson to hire Bill bellich i’ think about that
One because I thought this year was weird I can’t figure out why you get bad and it’s not Personnel I think I’d probably make the move there it was a weird year for that Talent team that and listen the the easy answer is Trevor got hurt but you still shouldn’t go from
Eight and three to out of the playoffs entirely um that so I’m not like advocating belich go like you know that would be a good revenge for that Eagles Super Bowl like hey dougy guess what I’m sniping your job but yeah if I were Bill
My my jobs list would be I would go down I would make my own list of who are the best quarterbacks in the NFL and i’ be like okay Mahomes won well that job’s no you know they’re not firing Andy Reid that’s not available and go down and
Then see obviously the open one is Justin Herbert but it doesn’t seem like that’s gonna happen so then I would try to find a spot where either and I don’t think it’s a weird thing because nobody thinks this is like unfair with players so like if you have
A good NBA player who’s been a you know you have no reason to trade or whatever and then a star is like I want to go to that team then that guy gets traded and nobody’s like oh that that’s rid that’s unfair maybe it’s because it’s firing
But I wouldn’t think it was outrageous for a coach who had no reason to fire their their own coach fire their coach because Bill bellich became available and they thought they were better like I think that happens in life it’s like your job was safe but this Su this
Supernova Talent came into the world into our orbit and so your job is no longer safe listen we know Jimmy sexon controls college football fans have the overwhelming number of fans have no idea so I’ll give you an example um so kayin dbor got hired by from Washington you somehow knew Jed
Fish was going to get the job well I knew Jed fish was getting Washington in fact I yeah I knew Saturday night but to protect Jed because it wasn’t finalized and protect my source I couldn’t report it so I’d rather have Bruce Feldman and those guy I don’t make my money on
Breaking college football reporting yeah kayin dbor uh I’ve known Jed for a while I’m not going to screw up his contract and you know had he told Arizona stuff oh I didn’t know that part of it okay gotcha so kayin dbor I was told basically said
Okay Jimmy ston I’ll let you be my agent but I want the Bama job and Jimmy seon’s like I’ll get you in the top two and so he knew Kalin D’Or was going to be so kin D’Or I knew on Wednesday was going to be a top two candidate he didn’t
Guarantee him the job but in order to rep him he was gonna get and Sark Alabama knew Greg burn knew that Sark wasn’t gonna take the job Sark loves his wife loves Austin they weren’t leaving they called Sark is almost a perun professional thank you for what you’ve given us yeah
And get him a a raise at Texas that Alabama job coming open was great for a lot of people’s economies everybody was out here getting races right right right so it was one of these sort of um we’re GNA call Sar but it wasn’t he was never
Ever they never thought they were going to get Sark so you know it was a prime example of so to your point is that this Jimmy tton is operating on multiple levels he is promising interviews and opportunities he didn’t say kayin you’re going to get
The Bama job he goes I’m going to get you in the running for it and so this idea that he was the fourth guy no no no no no Kaya deor signed with Jimmy I want to be in the running for that and so the idea that agents don’t do that I’ve had
An agent forever you have we’re we’re talking 18 months out so this kind of St bellich che’s agent is calling and doing that calling and seeing what jobs would come over if you knew he wanted the job yeah I mean Brady did the same Brady picked his team Bill
Probably has three teams he’s interested in so yeah and by the way I don’t May listen maybe he’ll go to Atlanta and it’ll it’ll be weird maybe that’ll happen I thought it was really odd Atlanta tweeting out we’ve just finished our interview with Bill bich it just I
Don’t know Bill bich but that seems like the type of thing that would make him not want to coach your team yeah I almost wondered if Bill’s agent asked for that I’m not saying it oh for hey could you make sure Bill wants it out there that people are interested right sure
That makes more sense yeah because because if he did if he did I would almost because what I thought was that it was a stress test for the organization like I’ll go meet with you guys because I maybe I am interested and I want to see if it leaks and you know
What I mean and and then saw that it was everywhere what you’re saying actually makes probably more sense Bill wants to be viewed as viable when you get to be 70 Pete Carroll when he stepped to the podium losing the Seattle job he was like my Energy’s great he was talking to
Every other GM in the league every other owner hey it’s not my energy I’m going a thousand M he started talking really fast he was selling himself Bill wants it to be known I’m interested and teams are interested in me and his agent wants that out there there
Yeah no that that makes sense so if you had to BET right now where would you say and maybe you don’t want to say where do you think he goes I think um Philadelphia and Washington he’s got a big he’s got multiple homes in nck he’s
Got a big spread so he wants to be a private jet flight there you know he doesn’t Bill’s not going to go he’s going to do Washington or Philadelphia he not going west that it just doesn’t he doesn’t have any connections there and you know by the way if he brings
Josh McDaniel Josh McDaniel’s Northeast Josh has had no success out west Vegas Denver he’s gonna come back East I think Philadelphia is the answer yeah I think Philadelphia is the answer you stay in the Northeast you stay in a prime media Market you have a talented roster it’s
Listen I think the talent on the roster is a little overrated but what’s not overrated is the dline talent so be you know bellich can coach up secondary he can create a secondary if there’s anything out of thin air and even if Jaylen is you know a flawed quarterback
He’s the best quarterback that belich had in a half decade you know what I mean like you go from yeah M Jones and bayy zappy to jayen Herz you feel like you’re playing a different sport so the there is real There’s real value there okay five minute NBA
Topic so this is a classic example is I brought my baggage to the Clippers when Harden signed and I didn’t really consider an obvious thing and I’ve watched the Clippers twice in the last two weeks and it hit me oh they didn’t have a real point guard for two years they finally have
One and now Paul George and kawhai can just go be Wing great Wing players and I watched them twice and I’m like what my take was Harden was taking shots from embiid and Maxie but you were taking the ball to Maxi’s hands the truth is the
Clippers have about a hole for two years they don’t have a point guard right which is why they actually looked good with Russ at the end of last year before kawhai got hurt because they had version of Russ so I watched him the other night again and I’m like oh this is a
Real offense I mean when Harden’s on the floor with Karan Paul it is a seamless All-Star level offense it’s like they like passing they I mean James can distribute that’s that’s never been an issue he’s really become a very strong distributor and it’s one of those I
Looked at and I thought oh I I hate this Westbrook was a grown-up so I’ll go to the bench and then Harden the missing piece and I missed it and I was so caught up here’s the thing the Philly Brooklyn Harden yeah guess what you’re gonna get that same guy soon
Enough James Harden plays nice for a few months I’m gonna be the point guard I’m gonna lead the league and assist I’m gonna do all this and then he wants to cook and right around the time he wants to cook Ka Paul George is gonna have
Something in a little you know going to be out a few weeks Harden’s going to get to cook so you the they do look great right now I have not bought in five years one share of clipper stock and I’m not starting today I and so uh I listen
They’re like 21 and six or 22 and six over the I understand all of that I don’t trust I it’s sad but it’s reality I don’t trust kawai’s Health Paul George is not quite as big of a health risk but is and I do not trust Jame James Harden
If you listen to Doc Rivers James Harden everything was all good then he didn’t make the allstar team last year and he was so pissed it wrecked his whole mentality in their season and so I don’t I I don’t buy it I do not buy it now the
The answer is right now in my opinion out west you have the obvious favorite in Denver yeah and they deserve the right to be that and they are are then then you have two maybe a year too early but can’t throw you know can’t discount them young
Teams in OKC and Minnesota because those are well-built deep teams yeah and barring a seismic trade I don’t think there’s another team in the room in the Western Conference the Eastern Conference on the other hand to me has four viable contenders I think that obviously Boston is at the top of the
Line Philly is really damn good Jo 35 points a game oh by the way I watch a lot of Sixers because I get on the treadmill yeah so I get a lot of the Eastern starts I’ve I’ve said this J mck and I have argued Tobias Harris the
Other night had 37 in the fourth Harris is a great three embiid Maxi I watch their ball movement now they’re really good that’s they’re really good Milwaukee can’t guard anybody but you have Giannis and Dame and you hope the coach gets better and then lurking is a team that can
Never be discounted the team that’s been to the finals two of the last four years the Miami Heat and so it just or yeah two the last four years so to me the East has four I I would almost go like 30 25 2520 as far as percentages you know
What I mean like four almost pick thems and in the west which right now has Denver OKC and Minnesota you don’t like Phoenix at all no I don’t I don’t like Phoenix at all and I the I don’t think Kevin Durant likes Phoenix I you know I
Don’t think that’s gonna work I the Clippers I don’t believe in you know I want to believe in the Lakers but I you’d be a fool right now like I said a seismic trade and even that you’re once again the Lakers have once again put themselves in a position where they’re
Going to have to expend all their energy just to get into the goddamn playoffs that by the time the playoffs start like so there’s yeah I mean I don’t the Warriors are done I think just like done you lose to the Grizzlies with their g-league rust or they’re done um is
There anyone I I’m just going to glance I feel like there’s one obvious team that I’m just not even mentioning because been so NFL Centric let me no no no no no that oh I’m leaving out my beloved oh I was going to say I’m leaving out my beloved Kings but the
That’s not it because they’re they’re fun but they’re not the team the other one that is lurking and they’re not trustworthy but they have a guy who even in a series against joic can be the best player on the court is Dallas and Dallas right now staying
Afloat when Luca’s when Luca missed some time I don’t trust him because of Kyrie there’s a lot of there’s a lot of things there I don’t think Dallas can win four rounds but Dallas can beat anybody in a round because Luca has proven in the playoffs he’s as good as anybody in the
League on offense and Kyrie’s been unbelievable for a couple weeks but like that’s those that’s not a real Contender that’s just like a fun scary team again unless they make a major trade and then and that’s the other thing with Philly Philly I think is going and Daryl sharp
Philly is going to make a move Miami could still make a move like that’s where it is GNA be really interesting to see like who stands Pat who makes a move and what happens like Milwaukee’s made their move Boston has probably made their move and feels really good about
Where they’re at I’m really curious where you know where everyone else lands Nick Wright uh first things first he’s got to go pick up his wife this was a great hour buddy I appreciate it I just finished my diet coke I went um I’m gonna go have I’ve been battling a cold
I’m gonna go have a beer with a buddy tonight in a hamburger so I wanted to go you know what you know what um beer right here is great what uh her draic her dra that’s what I was gonna say I forgot I was going to say what’s it
Called I see it’s at restaurants and everything now this is unbelievable yeah it’s in our all Gelson’s it’s going to be Albertson’s it’s in the Delta Lounge it is um in the Buffalo Wild Delta Lounge in the Buffalo Wild Wings how many flavors do you have or like
Variations I have a hazy IPA and then a logger logger um or pilsner or pilsner won the bruski for the best newbi in America that is unbelievable are you going to come out because here’s the reason I asked it’s of course selfish reasons if you’re going to come
Out with a third variation I might license my name for free just to just to be able to say just I’m never going to have my own beer line just to be like the the what’s right pilsner or something I don’t know if I don’t make a
Penny on it I love our pilsner and I I I’ll go have one of mine tonight so at the club I go to the 900 Club he put a keg in he put it in and I said you don’t you don’t need to do this but um I’m so
Proud of it because when we made it I said listen I it’s not about a Prof thing it’s got to be a good beer I don’t want to be do a celebrity shitty vodka beer wine like let’s do it right let’s not worry about profit our guys have
Worked so hard our brew master I think the I think the pilsner is my favorite pilsner that’s awesome that’s awesome well I’m glad we’ll go enjoy the beer I’m gonna go pick up my wife from the airport and I’ll talk to you soon all right Buddy

I used to diss like Nick Wright but putting my personal love for my 49ers on the side i understand some of the things he says
Wait a minute. How the hell you questioning Hurts and not Burrows. Hurts is better than Burrows. Stats, wins, and durability and versatility says this is a fact.
It’s insane to me how differently Dak and Tua get talked about. They are the same QB and even their teams are the same. Both are solid, neither are great.
With excellent players around them and everything going right both QBs and teams look great. Once things go off script and you ask the QB to carry the team it’s a disaster. Yet Dak is somehow a top 5-7 QB and Tua is nowhere near there. It makes no sense to me.
I get the size and concussion issues with Tua. But listen to anyone rip on Tua and it is word for word the same description you can apply to Dak
DS analysis.
Can sports announcers talk with out cursing.
Love these conversations. Been listening to Nick since the 610 KC days, but my man needs to upgrade from the webcam to a real camera.
These guys have great chemistry in a time of constant negativity. Say that 3 times fast. 😊 What a great job this would be I hope they know how lucky they are. I'm sure they do. 💯🔥🔥🇺🇸
I love how wholesome Colin's comment section generally is
If Jalen Hurts has peaked then so has Herbert🤷🏽♂️
yall claim you don't want to hear about rodgers but then can't stop talking about him. Nobody wants to hear about him
Aside from Colin being over dramatic at times he’s spot on with his takes!
Idk lol let's allow Tua to make plays outside the pocket. Tua just like Lamar, is judged through different skin. When Lamar loses on Sundau, you'll see.
Tua ain't the issue. I mean, didn't we see him run multiple times for first down in the cold? He's super coach able and doesn't go rogue. Next year you'll see Tua improvise better.
I remember twitter calling for LeFleur’s heading. And now he’s an excellent coach again. I think the 3 years sitting under the same coach is so underrated and wish more teams did so but you have to be good immediately in today’s nfl.
Not sure Reed is anyone’s muse 😂
My issue with Colin
Jordan love is not it, he's not good.
New evidence.
Jordan love is Amazing franchise QB I've been saying this about Jordan love .
Clown
He won 2 MVPs in his last 3 years with the Packers and they didn't do anything. They were 100% getting A+ Rodgers.
The packers need to start love before his rookie contract was up. You can’t extend love without knowing what you have in him. Rodgers didn’t want out of the packers, the packers wanted Aaron out.
First of all it’s Rodgers HIPAA rights that the nutty media thinks they can drag across their screens theoretically Rodgers could sue the liberal industrial complex for treading on his rights! The media is reckless and have a group think blood in the water mob mentality with a zero moral compass!!
Imagine voting for Biden 😂 holy shit that’s embarrassing
Massive LJ fan I think he is the best – but you don’t need to knock Tua to build up Lamar. Also we were talking about Lamar and then spend an equal amount knocking tua ..
Lamar has the same amount or less of playoff wins as Baker Mayfield as of right now. Don't pretend to move your goal posts just so ppl won't say you're racist.
Again!!! So soon I love it
Lamar Jackson is a (souped-up) version of Stetson Bennett! Hence the Monken hire was genius
I love these episodes with Nick. Keep doing them!
I love these discussions on quarterbacks.I wish this had been around when Eli was with the Giants, Peyton vs Brady arguments, Cutler is the "franchise" QB and Favre driving fans crazy with his interceptions and is it time for Rodgers. Man, that would have been a lively discussion…….Love when you guys are drinking and gabbing……….
Jordan love didn’t play that good against the cowboys, his Receivers were running wide open, I don’t care about the numbers or the media I’m taking 49ers plus -9.5 the plays won’t work on 49ers they invented the west coast offense
Okay, enough of this. Now we are going to rewrite history? Now the media didn't say the Jets weren't a QB away from being a contender BEFORE Rodgers signed there? And when he did go there the media didn't say thry were a contender? But now he made a bad CHOICE going to the Jets because they dodnt have a worthwhile team? Im not a fan of any of these groups but come on, stop lying and trying to change history.
Also, "just enough examples of the media being leftist"? Is that a joke? Dude, all of the media is openly left leaning and openly proclaims thry support one party. Stop. 🙄
I’m probably too late to this upload for it to matter, but as a non religious man I pray we get a Colin and Nick show in the foreseeable future 🙏
Nicks point about Lamar is spot on. It’s beyond race but like a deeper level of racism/ colorism or classism maybe? Because the masses have loved other black qbs like Hurts or Mahomes stroud love etc at face value but Lamar it’s just always felt that the criticism was really also he’s just too much too ghetto too black too something etc. it’s okay for him not to be your favorite qb obviously that has nothing to do with any of this point, but the weird hate he’s gotten moreso in the media than I ever heard irl has def had a more negative connotation like Nick mentioned.
I love this medium
Where else you gonna get nick dropping f bombs. It's awesome
This episode was fire i love seeing all thses on there own platforms
As a Packers fan who has been there since Brett , I do think The Packers were to blame for not putting the best team around your highest paid player . Also what is being forgotten is that The Packers would have moved on from Rodgers if he didn't win those MVPS , as a fan I would have understood , just saying that also soured things . As far as Talent ,I wasn't sure either , Watson is hurt like ever other game and still drops easy catches sometimes ,Doubs as worked out and Rodgers threw to him a good amount , The TE's they just got this year After moving off Tonyan who looked like he was going to maybe be a top TE but was never the same after injury. They were a bad running team as well last year.
I wanted to move off Rodgers a few seasons ago to get a haul back after it was clear The Packers were not going to go "All-in" and didn't think Rodgers was the issue last year , yes he had some bad games but nothing was working right , then this season , the first half they looked like the same team as last year. Love hopefully unlocked his greatness and isn't just on a heater and I think what happened is he started playing better making teams to fear passing just enough to open up the run game again and then getting teams on play action.
In short I get Rodgers side of it and do mostly blame The Packers but if Love turns out to be this good then of course the Front office was right. Also kind of unfair with Rodgers getting hurt like 30 seconds into the season , what if he did carry The Jets to the post season , then who would have been right?
Lets just hope the NFL's protected clickbait unicorn can at least look as good as Baker has this postseason playing QB, so these NFL propaganda agents can then be assinged another fake victim to protect for a few years with their guilt tripping race card nonsense. It has only been five years of complete playoff incompetence and theres not enough MVP's you can hand over that will help keep fans tuned into a product you continue pushing as one thing by any means necessary, when their eyes tell them otherwise. The word Nationally is that the Ravens are going to choke. The word Nationally is that Lamar is a choke artist who sucks in the playoffs and cant really pass and is booted once their run is shut down and he is forced to move the ball primarily via the arm. I guess we will all see and it is paramount for LJ to perform much better in the playoffs this year. If LJ does not, and he gets beat by a rookie, the NFL should arrange a trade for him out of Baltimore, because he will be considered by many in Baltimore afterwards as nothing more than a creation of the NFL hype machine.
Need this weekly guys
Story out there Belichick waiting to see if Andy Reid retires? Too many cheeseburgers?
What bothers Nick isn't that Rodgers isn't vaccinated. It's that Rodgers is speaking out about it, that's what drives Nick bananas.
The MSM was practically begging him to go to NYC and he did. Now he's a punching bag because he couldn't deliver and probably won't when he heals up. The Packers are in an excellent position with all that young talent but Rodgers couldn't have known that such an amazing influx of ready-to-contribute talent was on the horizon and even if he were aware, it might not have worked because he was having trouble relating to guys who are 17 to 18 years younger than him. It's tough to be friends with guys who are so much younger than you, he's old enough to be their father. His leaving was for the best and I hope he finds some success elsewhere.
I like Cowherd and Wright, but frankly it’s a terrible take that Lamar and Allen are the “hardest to defend.”
First, what does that even mean? Because they run? Does that mean Brady wasn’t hard to defend because he wasn’t mobile? Mahomes isn’t as hard to defend because he’s not as fast or agile as Lamar? Using the phrase “hard to defend” as a way of elevating QBs as best in the league without championships is intellectually dishonest and a bad choice of phraseology.
So, gentlemen, let me ask you: The game is on the line and you gotta have points. Who do you want? Brady or Mahomes…or Lamar or Allen because they can run? Being hard to defend means you can’t stop the other QB. Granted being a talented runner makes it difficult on defenses in ways that Brady could not. But Brady was more difficult to defend because he didn’t have to run. He knew exactly where to throw the ball, exactly what play to run, what mismatches to exploit and how to lead his team.
Not saying Lamar and Allen aren’t good leaders or great QBs but gimme a freaking break with the “most difficult to defend” nonsense. No one is taking Lamar over Mahomes if you need 7 in a championship game. I’ve seen Lamar shut down on numerous occasions. I’ve almost never seen Mahomes shut down.
Also, we watch the game too. Lamar has become a much better QB. He’s clearly top 5 in the league. But it’s pretty insulting to suggest that if someone is still skeptical about his passing that they are either pridefully rigid or a closet racist. Lamar is a phenomenal passer in between the hashes. However his balls outside the hashes and deep down field are often not great. He reminds me of Alex Smith with much better legs. He’s amazing on crossing routes, seams and short passes and can take off at any given moment. But he’s not very accurate down the field outside the hashes…period. He was middle of the pack in passing and passing touchdowns this year…WITH a dynamic rush game. People criticized Tannehill’s passing ability saying that the threat of the run opened things up for him in ways other QBs couldn’t benefit from. But suddenly it’s racist or rigid to suggest that the eye test and average passing numbers when you have an amazing rushing attack suggests there’s a lot of room for growth in his passing. Gimme a break gentlemen. Lamar is great, but he’s not more difficult to defend than PM15 and he’s not a greatly accurate downfield thrower…especially given the looks defenses have to give him because of his speed and agility.
Rodgers vaxx status is a private medical decision he made for himself. It's no one's business. He has flaws like we all do. Still one of the greatest QBs ever.
Nick was cooking. He was saying basically that excuses get made for Tua because he looks like a respectable Black man whereas Lamar looks like a less respectable Black man. Colorism, racism, classism, all kinds of isms. Lamar does a lot with a little and he is an unscripted master. Tua needs everything perfect. Tue gets credit for accomplishing what he should with all that he has. Lamar gets no credit for consistently helping his team outperform the actual talent they have on the roster. Put some respect on the young Black man with the Fla accent, the nappy black hair, the hip hop attire, the family man, the community lion, the respectful and professional, law abiding, quality character Man.
