Yeah all right Tyler welcome back what’s up Happy New Year happy New Year good to see you guys good to see you how’s it feel to be back it feels great it’s um you know teeing it up on the first te it’s been a while doing that um but all

Good feelings coming back uh it’s been quite the journey to get here so very happy to be on uh Hawaiian Turf and kind of speaking of the journey could you kind of go through you know it was I think the players in 2022 where you withdrew and you haven’t played since

Then so kind of what was the injury and then just the timeline of what got you back to here yeah I had some shoulder uh shoulder issues that I’ve had for a long time um address them again for a second surgery um put some anchors in my laum

Um and then I had my my hip as well so a labor repair posterior label repair a few anchors in there as well so that whole that whole left side needed some love um so I had to do it but uh yeah that’s kind of what I’ve been up to the last

The last year and a half what was like in terms of thinking you might need to shut it down and like did you play through it for like how long did you kind of play through it feeling pain I guess um yeah so I I had already had a a

Prior shoulder surgery um so I was pretty familiar with the the shoulder instability I guess you could call it um and I would say I was playing kind of battling it you know the the pain getting it um trying to manage the pain uh and instability

But it’s just not not a good feeling when you’re at you know in your back swing and your shoulder doesn’t feel like it’s in its socket um so obviously it needed to be addressed um and yeah it it was is that the typical length of

Time to deal with that injury no no it’s normally about a year for a shoulder but I had my hip Labor uh laboral repair four anchors in my posterior hip six months ago so that that’s uh that’s normally about a year or two but I’m I’m back early so

And how come you didn’t do them at the same could you have done it at the same time or I that’s it’s pretty tough um to answer your question I didn’t I wasn’t quite aware I needed that yet so I got it done um afterwards but

Yeah how have you spent how you spent that time are you uh you waned to play the guitar or you got any new hobbies I wish I was not that productive um I learned a lot of a lot about Anatomy honestly I know parts of my body that I

Didn’t uh never even heard the words before um there was a little bit of Art in there uh spending quality time with friends and family a lot of healing um you know there’s obviously a lot of downtime post bigger operations like that you know so I’d haven’t tallied the time but you

Know a lot of time spent kind of just up in bed um and then recovering and obviously like your your question earlier could I’ve done them at the same time I kind of went through it twice so I was I was up back at it tried to push

Through back you know with my feet up uh so kind of went through it two times you know were they um the injuries tied together at all or were they um yeah i’ would say if you’re looking at it from like a kinematic sequence aspect um

Ground up uh yeah I think the the hip you know has a has a great effect on the on the shoulder if you’re working up the chain um which came first I don’t know but um yeah both definitely needed addressing what was the first time you

Had it when did that like when did your shoulder first start bothering you um in like 16117 so pretty much in my entire like professional career um you know when I was started playing the volume of play went way up you know as you segue from college to professional golf um so

I had that surgery at the end of 17 um yeah so kind of from forever it’s nice not to worry about it anymore and then the surgery after like in 22 when how long after you kind of stepped away was that surgery um I tried to sort of get it as

Strongest I mean obviously I wanted to avoid surgery that was the goal so did the rehabilitation um strengthening you know the the injections we’re allowed to do and stuff PRP whatever it was um you know to try to get that shoulder as healthy as possible but when it comes to

To um you know the ligaments the laams like they can only do so much without uh you know that invasion of surgery so so it was like fall 2022 is or um it was the end of the summer yeah it was like uh July 1st I think into of June yeah

Okay what sort of competitive golf have you played leading up to this I played a bow Tour event um a month ago and had a what’s up G I learned from the the best um I had a played a bow Tour event um out in your

Palm Springs uh you know it was three rounds um it was my first time teeing up I was super nervous on the First Tee um carried my bag walked 54 holes and that was kind of my test to see where my body was at kind of where my mind was at

Obviously as well um I I felt pretty pretty solid um you know post playing I I feel like I’m you know definitely coming in with uh you working out some Kinks I have a really good team uh back home and out here so um yeah felt like I was ready so figured

I’d start in one of my favorite spots in the world was there any um like wondering in your mind if you would ever come back like did those thoughts ever come in your mind during the process or did you always have faith that you would be back

Here me you’re asking me the Deep ones man trying to get me to choke up over here no uh I I mean you go I feel like I went through the whole Gambit of emotions you know like obviously those are two major surgeries there’s a lot of

Unknown um I’ve always sort of had belief in myself uh definitely had belief in myself as a player so I knew it wasn’t going to be from a lack of effort um and belief but there are new you know new joints new C new stuff I’m

Dealing with in my body and I didn’t know that process so um that’s a little scary um but like I said I have a really good team and I trusted them what’s Mark’s involvement in your game these days yeah we talk all the time um you

Know we’ve spent a lot of time on kind of not really in the same city over the last cuz I had surgeries in Colorado and did a lot of PT out there but um yeah we talked quite a bit about course management and um you know dealing with

Sort of the the stress and head space and uh preparation through these surgeries and um you know he had a a little bit of time off with a shoulder surgery but um he you know he was pretty fortunate for the most part played most

Years so um the two years off we kind of had to figure that one out on our own thanks so much yeah thank you guys
