Many of you guys that have been with me for years and for many of you guys that have actually backed golfers for lots of and lots of years this is the old Bob Hope classic the Bob Hope Lottery as it’s called they play the American

Express which I’ve got to say has got an excellent field this year I mean a few years ago there was pretty much drw turning up but this year depth of field and a quality field we are playing the American Express we are playing a three course rotation as always here at PGA

West in linta California basically Silicon Valley over in the United States the host course so that’s 36 holes is PGA West Stadium Course that is a 7,200 yard par 722 um designed by our old friend Pete Dy famous for TPC Sor grass amongst others they also play the tour course on

The PJ West Resort that’s a Jack Nicholas design and then they have to make a 5em drive down the road to laint Country Club for the other round it’s a proam as well very very slow to watch on the coverage up until Sunday but you have got three rounds across the

Stadium course linta and also the tournament course and then they take forward the players uh I think it’s top 65 in cuts that then go on and play the final round back at the PJ West Stadium Course now I’m not going to go into Infinite detail around these golf

Courses because firstly it’s easy they are all desert golf courses naturally so off of the fairways plenty of water um in fact if you actually look at the stadium course there’s seven holes with water in play but on top of that you miss Fairways you’re starting to get into all manner of cacti

Rocks you name it it’s out there plenty of sand as well um it’s categorized as a short Golf Course these are sub 7,200 yard par 72s and Resort level scoring so as I often say here if you go to this week’s predictor model for the American Express

Players that go well on the lowest scoring courses over the last 5 years is on the PJ tour have a look at those names some of them will be at the top of the leaderboard this week I absolutely guarantee it along with players you probably never heard of from the corn

Fery tour it’s that kind of event now it’s quite tight The Stadium Course the host course for 36 holes but the main thing that we need to work with this week is that we’ve got Bermudagrass Greens on all three courses but they are all overseeded with po trivialis

Overseed now if you want some courses that link into that um we have got Phoenix where they play TPC Scottdale in a few weeks time those are Bermudagrass greens overseeded with poet trivialist as are the greens that we see every single year at TPC s grass in Florida as

Are the greens we see every single year at Copperhead inisbrook where they played the V bar up at Tampa Bay in Florida also the Valero Texas open at TPC San Antonio and also the RBC Heritage played of course at Hilton Head in Carolina you can also add to the mix

Quail Hollow and you can also add to the mix that funky zich classic event they play play at TP Louisiana in pairs all of those greens are Bermuda grass overseeded with poet trivialis which basically means these greens are very very true not a lot of grain fantastic for putting

Now that’s the same for all three courses I think one of the courses has got Tiff Eagle Bermuda grass overseed with poet Tris but it means little tiff dwarf overseeded with PO trivialist on both uh laint and also on the Pete dice Stadium Course that other tournament course is Tiff

Noticeable thing I did take account of was Sunday it looks a little bit colder but in the main it’s all going to be 20° Celsius so nice and warm warm enough uh it drops to about 16 on the Sunday but um yeah we’re ready to go this week for

Ired this week of note though this is only relevant to uh 36 of the 72 holes they only take Strokes gained data of course on The Stadium Course Strokes going off The t18 Strokes going on approach 15th Strokes going around the green 37th Strokes G te green 15th Strokes game patting

22nd those are ranks of the Champions worked through going back to Jason dner it doesn’t really mean a lot it’s pretty meaningless because we’re only seeing 36 holes of the of the action John Ram last year won this he was 61st for strokes game pting I think he lost

1.1 Strokes per round with a putter but those are the only the two rounds that we see at the stadium course you might find that he gained seven strokes putting at the tournament course and linta so it’s all pretty meaningless in terms of traditional statistics and this

Again is going back to Jason Duff now we do get to see all the data for all 72 holes driving distance 25th so if we’re you using that in comparison um with last week that is a stronger driving distance performance this week I do think it helps if you can

Get some total drivers some off the te drivers that can keep the ball relatively straight this week so driving distance 25th in the field driving accuracy 23rd in the field it does help if you find far Fairways unless you are long enough like a John Ram or Hudson

Swafford where you can get the ball a long way further down the Fairway and be in the lighter cutter rough that works as well Greens in regulation 14th proximity to hold 28th not important scrambling 19th putting average eth yes it’s a putting contest low and behold

On um Jason day this week he ranks in the top 20 for off the te and approach the top 10 for putting and the top six for both te to green and strokes gained current form I’m all over Jason d 33 to1 and finally this one won’t surprise you
