Have ping done it again and made the driver of the year today we’re going to find out before we get stuck into this review though guys make sure that you hit the Subscribe button down below so you don’t miss any of the future videos that we got coming to help you spend
Your money wisely and improve your game so ping have a brand new driver and it’s an addition to a lineup that we already know it is the g430 lineup and it is now the g430 10K Max that we are seeing being introduced and the 10K the number that is the significant Improvement in
This driver is something that we’ve seen from one of the other driver manufacturers recently that has just been released not too long ago on this channel in fact and for me before we even get stuck in to the tech how it performs out on the golf course when I
Heard there was a driver coming from ping and it was going to be more forgiving it was going to be as goodlooking as the past one I already had this thing down as don’t sign me up and if you’ve seen other reviews that I’ve done on the ping
You will know that I am a fan of them and I think that they make a driver that is by far the easiest to use straight off the rack if like a lot of golfers you’re someone who doesn’t go and get your clubs fit you just go in buy what
You’ve generally always used at 10 degree regular it would be one that when my friends have asked me I’ve pushed them down that route I would always recommend a fitting but ping are going to pretty much be the ones that you can rely on to make sure you’ve got that
Straightness that stability is that the case though with this new model we’re going to find out so the g430 10K joins the other lineup the other lineup is not going anywhere at the moment we see that the standard version is going to be staying the ls Tech version and the SF
Tech is also staying so it’s just an addit to this one as we look at it and it’s the 10K number which is the important bit about this new ping g430 model because the 10K is all about the moment of inertia for those of you watching who don’t know what moment of
Inertia simply put it’s about how much the club face twists during impact on our off-centered hits toe heel top bottom if it’s struck there the club will actually start to twist offline a little bit because the mass is going to move around where that ball is so what
We’re trying to do is try and keep it as stable as possible to make it as forgiving as possible and this is measured in thousands now previously we’ve not seen a driver get up to this 10,000 number but with what Ping have done inside this club head they’re now
Able to push this moment of inertia up to that 10,000 Mark thus resulting hopefully in a more stable Club head straighter more forgiving drives while still being able to maintain some speed off the phas through other advancements in the head and those advancements come in how the structure of the head is
Actually built firstly we see the carbon fly wrap on top of this driver now that isn’t currently in the g430 model it is in the ls Tech model so if you’ve seen those you almost see a noticeable line on top of the driver where we have the
Titanium and then we have the carbon Crown the reason for this it allows less weight to be placed up on top of the crown which then can be redistributed throughout the driver towards the bottom and towards the back which is where ping have put now a 28 G fixed weight again
Something that we don’t see in the other models we see that you’re able to move the weight in the other models is where this one now stays fixed through through that weight saving as well what they’re able to do is stretch the shape of the driver it Still Remains at 460 CC’s but
It has a bigger profile so when you put this down actually next to the 430 next to the LST Tech it’s apparent it just looks a little bit bigger and the other drivers that we’ve reviewed recently you see that in all of them you see the more forgiving model looking a lot bigger
Still Remains in that 460cc but it’s how they’ve stretched it they’ve made the the sort of bottom the shallow part of the driver closer together to be able to push the footprint wider but one of the things that we don’t want to do is lose distance when we try and enhance
Forgiveness and we want to make a stable driver it sort of doesn’t make sense that you would then have a speedier driver but through variable face thickness now actually making the face a little bit thinner in certain places heel toe they’re actually a able to maintain that distance so with the
Weight loss and then being able to redistribute that round the face and around the head of the driver they’re actually able to marry distance and forgiveness together and I must say I like the look of this driver I play the g430 already but having that little bit
Of the ls Tech in here on a forgiving driver I like that’s being able to see the carbon Crown it looks very much like all the four 30 models as we go through them it’s got the sort of etching in there in the silver and that lime greeny
Yellow color keeps the turbulators in there the bottom of the club looks very similar by that fixed weight position but overall it looks pretty good so we know about the tech in the driver we know that this thing should be forgiving and I’m expecting to see quite a lot of
Straight ball flights from this driver knowing that ping already make great drivers that are so easy to use if they’ve increased this moment of inertia this thing should surely be the easiest driver to hit out on the market well I headed down to the golf course to give
It a test and actually find out how it would perform we hit some shots at the range and we hit some shots out on the course spending a bit of time to actually see how it felt see what it looked like behind the golf ball and
Also get a gauge on what it was like before we actually get some data on this driver as I said earlier I expected this to be a Shore shoeing for being the best driver of the year and I don’t know whether it’s because I whole ping drivers in such high esteem knowing that
They are the ones that you can just rely on if you’re not going to get a fitting I always say to my friends if they’re not going to bother with that I would probably just sway towards ping because you know what you’re going to get and
That may have left me a little bit underwhelmed with this driver it was good I was seeing elements of this forgiveness I was seeing that on the toe the heel strikes I was still getting away with a bit I tended to have a little bit more fade than I normally
Would which is a shot that I generally play it wasn’t a slice or anything like that I was just having a little bit left to right and it was pretty consistent in that shape I didn’t really lose anything left but I didn’t expect what I expected to see probably an overe expectation on
My behalf because it wasn’t massively different to where I am with my g430 that I currently have in the B now it was pretty consistent in terms of its curvature its forgiv toe heel top bottom I wasn’t seeing real dodgy ones dropping out of the air really big carves but I
Wasn’t overwhelmed or Blown Away by how straight I was hitting it if you would have told me it was a g430 I probably would have just said yeah okay no problem obviously the only difference with it being looking different from the top one thing that was interesting though it felt slightly
Longer on some of the shots as I was hitting it at the range and out on the course I felt like it was a little bit longer in terms of the carry it felt like it was just staying in the air just maybe five or 10 yards longer when I was
Um doing that initial testing but we’ll find out if that’s true when we get to some data in a moment but the initial feedback is probably where I expect it to be it’s a good solid driver it looks great I prefer the look of having the
Carbon fly wrap on top and it does what it does I maybe would have expected a little bit more straightness from it but initially pretty good before we get the data though let’s talk price now if I have a little Google at the moment before these drivers come out what I
Would see is that generally the g430 lineup is coming in at £499 which is around about $550 now this one the g430 10K Max has an RRP of £599 which is going to be just into that $600 Mark and this being part of the current lineup the other ones are still
Current drivers I would maybe expect it to be a little bit lower I don’t think it’ll go into stores at 599 maybe 550 and I’d expect it almost to fall in line with the current models the LST te the sfte the g430 but it’ll be interesting to see if
That is the case when it actually hits stores in the coming weeks but 599 it’s round about where the majority of the big 4r at the moment so could it be cheaper maybe but we’re yet to see that so it’s time to get some data and
See how the g430 10K Stacks up when it’s actually put under a little bit of scrutiny is it just the same as my g430 or is it actually going to be more forgiving and Longer well after hitting numerous amounts of shots in the studio and actually get get into grips with the driver and actually as I spent more and more time with this driver I think my expectations were actually starting to be met because the spin number to start
Off with was round about where I would want it it was that mid 2,000 number and in terms of consistency what I was seeing was from my warmup to actually getting into hitting them it straightened out more and more as I got used to the driver as I was getting the
Feel of as I was getting my eye in with my golf swing I found that I was getting straighter and straighter and straighter and overall I started to feel like it was one of the straighter drivers that I was hitting then we actually take a look
At the distance this one the g43 10K was actually carrying 292 yards now my swings improved a little bit and I did feel like I say I was getting more and more out of this and really getting into my rhythm but overall for something that’s promising a
Little bit of forgiveness and then to have that distance with it I think is exactly where I want it to be if we can marry distance and forgiveness together that is a great thing for every golfer out there playing is it another knockout of the park is it another best driver of
The Year from ping I don’t think it is but I think it’s exactly what I would expect from ping something that is reliable it does exactly what it says on the tin there’s not loads of claims loads of whoa about it but it’s a good solid performing
Driver and for me it’s going to be one of them that I think I’m going to have to consider for 2024 because like I say distance and forgiveness getting those in one package is a big big tick just the one thing that might stop it going in other
People’s bag is how good the g430 already performs and that little price Gap let me know if that would be something that might hold you back from going on this driver but overall another good driver from ping I hope you’ve enjoyed this review but as always leave

Another great review Mat as always but for me I'll be sticking with the G430 max doesn't really warrant another big money splash out for me
G400 Max was 10k too
Thanks
My only issue is timing. I special ordered a G430 LST this past summer. Waited for 2 months to get it. I've had it in the bag and actually playing with it for about 3 months. It was a huge upgrade from my G400 LST. I wish I would have known about this driver before. I probably would have waited for it. I absolutely love my lst but if I could keep the spin down and get a little more forgiveness, i would have taken it.
Nice review Matt. The 10k sounds like a lot of marketing hogwash to me. I wonder what the numbers are on their existing drivers? Hopefully, this will drive the prices of the existing G430 range downwards thereby making a great driver more affordable.
The g425 is 10k 👍😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks Matt , again honest review of Ping’s latest offering, think they may have missed a trick with their pricing though , especially with the new Taylor made one . I’ll go hit em both to see for myself . Keep up the great work and I will obviously STAY subscribed.
Im sure its a great driver but why are they shouting about 10k moi when they even say in the latest marketing that 10k was suppassed by the G400 5years ago "eclipsing the 10,000 g-cm2 combined moment of inertia threshold first surpassed by the G400 MAX five years earlier"
looks great, sounds like crap
these need testing with a good ball striker off about 13. that's surly where these are aimed.
Ping drivers sound horrendous which stops me from buying. The costs are getting ridiculous, elitist crap! Its the nob on the other end that is the problem 99% of the time, this is not the holy grail, learn how to hit a ball!
My comment is it's very pricey.
Good review Matt
Which metric shows how far off target each drive is?
Great review Matt. Slightly more forgiveness and distance vs the G430 Max is a pretty big deal. I suspect for the vast majority of players and subscribers there may be bigger gains given we’re not as long nor as accurate with strike as you. Given the spins stays low and you haven’t lost distance it feels like it’s worth a try! I swing quite quick (117) but am still a bit shotgun with where on the face, and struggle with higher spin numbers – this could be for me, although I’ll be getting a fitting😅
love the reviews as always Matt, but I gotta say I for once don't agree with you on the price in store point. I've been in a number of local golf stores and pga shops recently and found prices of even the older stock is absurdly high before all this new stuff comes out. I don't know if it's a last minute boost in price before everything goes down for the new stuff, but I somehow don't see stores reducing their prices from the rrp by much if at all. They haven't in the past, and most certainly won't now in an age where nobody cares about the public's pockets
I think I may be sold and may look into this later this year. I was fit for a G425 LST two years ago as a beginner. The fitter was an absolute tool and now I know it to have been a catastrophic mistake. I've tried the g430 max and it was definitely more forgiving but on the good hits I'm giving up 20 yards. This is a fascinating proposition to potentially keep the distance but not be punished as much when I toe it. Which let's face it, it half of my drives I hit off the toe.
Ping have already made a driver with 10K MOI. It was the G400 Max
Again, Ping takes first place for the ugliest driver ever made.
MATT NO. My golf mate has one ping driver and last year 2023 he started hitting it 20 yards further , I am not sure of model other than ping and its 15 years if not older , I bought one last year but so called fitters stuck a woman's shaft in it , it was terrible, it was like trying to hit a golfball with a fish holding its tail .yes alive , I currently have the ROGUE D but now I've know which is the best driver for me only lasted a year but MAVRIK SUB ZERO 9° D super driver it fit me like a glove but a crack in shaft under grip and delay inside the head so it seemed , well 210 rounds last year with it.
I never can afford a brand new driver so maybe in 5 years this will hit my bag. Looks like a solid performance from @pinggolf
Enjoy your content Matt. Any thoughts on a podcast? Your stand ins on Ricks were great and been enjoying P Finch’s too
Perfect review, Matt. I don't think the Ping is for me with how busy the crown is. Excited to see your review after the IG live.
where did you get the frames for the flags in the background? they look stunning.
Hey Matt. Would you stay with the original G430 or the new one?
Love my Ping G425 10deg Driver,,,,cost are way out of my league, for this new technology inwhich
By July of ‘24 Ping will have another driver with MOI of 15 or 20,,,,,it all good thanks,,,
Are you planning on trying out the new PXG driver?
According to your review of the ping 10000 and the taylormade qi 10 max the ping is way better.
I liked the way you explained the 10k moi I like my older g400 not sure I would pay $600+ for the newest model
