Tommy Fleetwood spoke to the media in advance of the Dubai Invitational on the DP World Tour, just days after competing on the PGA Tour’s Sentry Tournament in Hawaii.
Yeah I feel I feel fine actually was up early this morning um just get straight back uh into the swing of things it’s uh part of uh part of the job is the travel and everything um last week was an event that I’ve always wanted to play um you
Know being uh such well it’s been an event for such a long time Capo was so significant so that was great to get the chance to play that and now uh back home in Dubai and uh off we go again it can it can go it can go either way I think
Um I’ve started see Seasons well and I’ve started Seasons poorly um I think I suppose with the way the World of Golf is every tournament is important um but at the same time you know when when come last come middle of the pack I don’t think you uh you know whatever you
Do in those events you’ve still got to carry on the next week and the week after that and keep going for the rest of the season so it’s um you know take confidence if you do start well and if you don’t don’t worry too much about it
Just keep working your way into the season so I try not to uh try not to like put too much significance on the start of the year but still um it’s always better to start good than than bad yeah I played I played really well last year um particularly from
Like early summer onwards uh late spring I think my consistency levels were great I um like most people in the world of golf I don’t win anywhere near as much as I would like so you’re always looking for that little missing piece that will lead you to uh to more victories but
Overall in terms of the the dep to my performances throughout the year I was very very pleased and to um and yeah to finish the world ranking in you know in in a hive place again and knocking on the door of that top 10 and hopefully
Going further um feels great and just uh carry on carry on with that consistency doing the right things and um try and kick on it’s been a nice break um and but obviously one of the issues with that is when you have so much momentum
And you stop uh you don’t want to stop there’s times when you do want to stop and times when you don’t but I’m happy to get going again
