Brilliant now you look like a golfer sounded like it as well it did didn’t it so can I ask a question because abolutely I’ve had it quite a lot on a golf course where I know there’s better golfers than me behind me yeah so I feel
A bit of pressure not just that they’re watching my shot just a speed of play everything that we’re doing here has got a process to it and it’s well I don’t know if it is but it feels like a bit timely so if I’m putting my golf club
Down and then I’m reshuffling my feet and then making sure I’m doing everything takes a little bit of time uh how do I kind of like overcome the the kind of eyes and the pressure so there’s two answers to that question the first one is if you have to take three shots
To get the ball on the green or one which takes longer yeah okay I get that yeah so if we’ve if we do this well and the outcome is what we want it to be we’re getting there quicker but also there is pressure when people are behind
You and sometimes we have to focus on something different so the process that you’re going through may feel really timely but if you could do that process and starting to maybe concentrate on the on your breathing relaxing your breathing or we focus on a spot that’s
Just in front of the golf ball then we tend not to have to worry too much about them because you’re just now getting everything correct you’re in your Zone and then you’re in your Zone yeah and that probably takes between five and 10 seconds that’s all it needs to take uh
So although it feels a long time if you’re kind of going through the routine this becomes the norm and then you’re just concentrating on staying relaxed or hitting it over a Target in front then you’re going to almost not ignore them but they don’t become a
Distraction you tend to get on with it better I think yeah if I’m making one shot on the green rather than the three as well they they’re going to be irrelevant but yeah the whole process good cuz I don’t want to skip points correct to then let it affect my game in
A negative way yeah all right so I’ll do one more Yep so before you hit the shot can you just do a practice ring for me yeah so think of the shape of the golf swing in your mind yeah so if we can almost like a
Video playe in your brain that’s it and just imagine so the body turns the club goes over your shoulder that’s it down super can you just do that again for me and if you can hold your finish okay yeah okay so now just relax your shoulders
Hey how long could you hold that for now a bit longer hey just fill a little bit of a twinge in my back okay cool just come out of it that’s it sounds dangerous so what what I see golfers often do and people say I’ve topped the
Golf ball you’ve lifted up I actually see people tighten up in the golf swing so we we stick an object in the way and it becomes our instinct to hit yeah so creating this awareness of the shoulders feeling really comfortable and throughout the swing they still feel
Comfortable that helps the flow of the golf swing okay yeah so trying to remain comfortable right until the end Hold the End okay should I go for the ball now or put it in the way okay okay so the body turns right turns left Club just throw it over your
Shoulder so surprising how far I naturally stand away from the ball good have to myself so important there you are done that’s all done check oh wow wa hello somebody moved the ball what was going on in your mind then I can almost see the cogs turning I
Don’t know I don’t know what I was thinking just said blah blah blah blah so let’s have a practice swing yeah I’ve got B here that’s it okay done I think I was thinking more about the actual swing than the shot that was in my mind was too busy on the things
Exactly that so and I could almost sense that okay uh and that’s because it’s very new to you they’ve done this a few times you know once you get into this you you tend not to have to think about it so much but we we’re not getting any
Into any of the what we call the nitty-gritty at the moment we’re just trying to get a shape of golf swing so the more even at home no golf ball you start to get this motion from here you’d be amazed how quick that starts to feel
More natural and all of a sudden if you stopped it here and here that would feel terrible yeah yeah well that’s the aim isn’t it to make it feel like you don’t have to think about it as much as I was that’s a great Point yeah we almost
Needs to become automated yeah so just to break this back down into something that’s tangible so if you just pop your Club across your shoulders that’s it and you’re just going to do a couple of swings turn right turn left so into your golfing posture that’s it just turn
Right and turn left uh and there that’s it and again we’re just simply turning and turning okay one more let’s see if we can make that as smooth as possible so we just turn and turn there you go good turn left there you go so now it’s
Starting to blend into so it’s nearly right I’ve been very very picky now when I say this okay I actually just want the body to just turn that’s it what you’re tending to do is go over here AIT yeah that’s it so we just ideally if we could
Just turn rot yeah feel it so turns this way and then up onto your toe boom that’s it good turn CU what we don’t want to do now is is build in a fault yeah or a habit so we’re just trying to get rid of that now be picky tell me so
If you if you if you just watch mine so what I’m trying to get away from is is going over here it just so the sensation I like to feel is that my right hip my right shoulder just moves moves behind me that’s it okay I I automatically know
Exactly what you mean because I felt me doing it so you told me don’t do that fine great because that could lead into another fault and it stops weight transfer on the way through so we’re just trying that’s it there and then go through brilliant okay okay so can you
Just do that once more just bring the feet slightly closer together okay and if you can hold your finish yep okay so you’re just going to turn right just hold your finish hold your finish right now where you looking straight ahead that’s what I want so what I’ve seen you
Do sometimes look at the carpet down here okay so as long as we’re looking that way we’re good to go okay that is normally where I’m looking on the driving range is that where the ball’s gotone yeah that’s where the ball’s got so if you keep hold of it again just keep hold
Of the club yep and just throw it over your right shoulder oh yeah okay bring this back in so so we just get that nice motion so there’s a in and un cocking that’s it there you go that’s it so so once we’ve turned to the side we just throw
It over your okay okay brilliant now you look like a golfer sounded like it as well it did didn’t it made a who didn’t yeah okay got you say Bol than for that okay right let’s see if this transfers into a so again don’t worry about the outcome this is just about put
In a nice shape of Swing on on the ball you say B oh okay so I actually did okay cool um but that’s more the distance of what the other one was orbe it not yeah not straight there’s still more to come yet cool uh go again yeah
It’s very it’s very easy to be seduced by yardage isn’t it it’s like oh that one’s better than the ones before so you’re already 50 yards up on some of the shots that you hitting uh in our very first session together but let’s just keep let’s keep the flow of it and
Distance is going to come as a consequence to doing these things right it’s good that you’re like draw me back in because I’m as amateur as amate could be I will look at those numbers and be like Wicked class I’m doing better than I was there’s so much more information
We can get from using the system but if I start to dig into the technicalities of what you’re doing your attention goes on to that and it stops this bit Yeah so this is why getting the shape right is more important than actual and that’s back to building your house stage that’s
Back to building the house and Foundations We’ll add that later yeah we don’t want to furnish it yet okay got you okay great so just look a little close to it there just nudge your feet back slightly there you go okay oh good that’s better great you saying Bol go again
Okay so if you look at your right foot now what do you see what’s it done it didn’t move off the ground didn’t move off the ground yeah so where’s it going to finish on this next one the ball or my foot foot oh yeah it needs to be like
That there you go so then that directly correlates to the fact that I lost distance lost distance which I’m not focusing on I promise good good you same Bol so what’s it doing have a look at it it was off the ground but it didn’t there
You go TST okay so what what actually happens when we do that is because the body’s not the weight’s not moving forward the bottom of your golf swing is slightly before the golf ball so if you on the golf course on hitting off real grass you would either hit the ground
Before the ball or top the ball right and if you topped it your friends would say you’ve lifted your head up you haven’t you haven’t transferred your weight ah so what’s happened is it’s gone here and then there slightly yeah but so if I can hit one yeah hit two
I’ll hit two you’re exactly right it’s the automatic oh you lifted your head up thanks so I don’t know any bad shoting golf that’s not blamed on lifting your head up yeah which is just the worst piece of advice ever so we’re into that good posture so I’ll hit this badly I’m
Going to keep my weight on my back foot okay okay so I am here so although my ankle lifted my weight is still very much on my right fo I mean the St just overall looks like one of those Stickman pictures where you’ve caused an injury like it doesn’t
Look and it does you know you get you get the the knee issues from there definitely pinches into your lower back nightmare is that why it look like that’s where we get a lot of injuries from from that and keeping your head down if we’ve got this thing going at 60
70 M hour and everything stops that can cause real issues in golf okay so this is the good one so this will be better better I never say good in case WR that’s the art of the one of the benefits of being a coach it doesn’t
Really matter if you do it wrong you can blag it okay there so you see how now my body’s moving oop probably slightly overit that that’s going the wrong green um so that one’s gone a nice distance I’ve got a little bit more Club than you did it
Look like there was a lot of effort to achieve it seamless and also your foot moved and did that but like it wasn’t rushed it almost did it like post it as like it was going through with it brilliant so shall I do that again I’ll do it you
Noology can I have a lesson okay so I’m going to do this slower so you can see how it’s all starting to look more fluid the exact same same thing so if I could do it you could do it okay you’re an athlete in theory maybe a tired
Athlete yeah great so one one practice S without the ball so I want it to feel like mine locked if that makes sense okay smoother even smoother yeah lovely so I don’t care if it goes shter distance I want that smoothness yeah let’s do it I want this to look good on camera
Okay okay so do I Julian I mean there’s a bit of pressure on you doing this but fair play you’re doing brilliant soften that’s it so keep it as smooth as you can make it okay what felt different the foot concentrated on the foot the foot did
Come off and through so now you’re Center of gravity or your center of mass is your belly button now that’s moving forward yeah that’s what we want that’s going to help us strike the golf ball and then a bit of ground after it but if I’m back here that’s that becomes a
Problem so from your point of view how did that look million times better yeah okay I’m not even going to look at what that says because if you say that then I’m happy let’s do that one more and then then we’re going to reel back a little bit and just take you back
To where you would have been before okay okay so again still we’re still just thinking of shape not outcome so sometimes what we need is a bit of a confidence boost and I want you to realize how far you’ve come in a very short space of time okay so I want you
To widen your stance and I want you to hit this golf ball with a short golf swing so how I was yeah so it’s a bit more that way not necessarily getting into the old bad posture but so it’s a wi stance so it’s becomes more restricted there you go and let’s try
This with a very short back swing follow through okay your follow through got longer there how did it physically feel just really restricted yeah like I’ve got like a box round and I can’t actually go further well a great description yeah and that so you know
You’ve hit a nice golf shot but again it’s not probably gone where you are but it probably didn’t feel very nice yeah okay so so that’s how it was before and that was better than it was at the very start yeah already CU was different the
First one of the first questions like or things that I said is I want to enjoy it with the golf swing that you’re teaching it’s an enjoyable flow of movement brilliant what I’m what I did before was just not so you know you played football yeah how could you relate that as in
Terms of a a shot or a kick something that was a really enjoyable uh maybe it’s a long Cross or something is that something yeah like a Crossfield pass I guess you you know the connection’s right and you got the right amount of Back Spin and height and distance and
When you hit it you just know but then if you don’t it’s gone a bit right or it’s not gone as high as you expected to like just it’s really disappointing it just feels um and it only yeah when you get kind of what was happening yeah with the
With the old swing yeah so let’s put that nice new one on it again so ball hit the ball with the new swing yeah definitely or your swing the Julian you swing okay that’s it you own it there you go great that’s it brilliant who’s say
B so is that any more enjoyable than the one before yeah it was the way that um I think I got a bit of vibration on the club cuz I think I might loosen my hands a little bit okay as I hit the ball yeah that that can happen it was something
Else your left hand wasn’t quite in the right place so what had happened on your left hand is it just gone slightly up here rather than in in the F so that’s why that that will feel a slight bit of pain on that like a vibration it
Naturally moves in your hand so I just you know my job is to just keep checking these things so this is why I like to get that bit of feedback so we know okay where it’s coming from that’s it and then that thumb just goes slight there
You go perfect there you go right but I have to say you’re doing fantastic in you know in in very short space of time you’ve now got a golf swing yeah too too bent there you go brilliant so there’s you know there’s going to be people watching that’s right there’s going to
Be people watching this in the same position as you so new to go golf like to play with friends things like that yeah what might you say to them in terms of the experience of this so far you know we’re only two bits in so far yeah well to come to you firstly
Um the so in my position it would be don’t just trudge around golf courses thinking that what you’re doing getting the ball 100 yards is necessarily the right thing um to yeah I know peel everything back from what you think you know and go to Someone Like You who is not just looking
After your golf swing today it’s the golf swing for 20 30 years if you enjoy want to enjoy the game that much so that’s that’s what I’d say but like I said the lads that I play I want to play with they’ve had golf lessons and stuff
So to them I might say something different so I can’t teach them to suck X because they’re obviously at a different level to me yeah but it would be you’ve got a different way of teaching what they might have learned definitely and from my friend who’s had
A couple of injuries from it maybe it’s worth you looking at these to support that I I do hear that often but what do you think your friends will say when they see this nice new golf swing when you take it to go go what do you think
They’ll say you’ve had lessons do you think what they’ll say yeah cool yeah because I want pi I wouldn’t have picked that up naturally myself but um yeah they’ probably be fairly impressed to think okay you’ve actually got a goal swing now you even if every shot doesn’t come off
Yeah you at least look like you know what you’re doing yeah so something complimentary hopefully I think they’ll say now you look like a golfer instead of somebody who’s been trying to hit the golf ball yeah and and that’s a complement in itself and there’s still
Much more to come yeah uh but the important thing is we’re really starting to get things in the right place now that I know very quickly with a bit of practice you’ll be able to get on that golf course and start playing the best golf that you’ve ever played so far in
In a very short space of time yeah well I guess what I’ve learned from well it means that I don’t I can stop thinking I need to buy golf clothing to dress like a golfer to look good yeah I can actually start singing it but um I guess
From what this session this this section that I’ve learned is is the full range of movement with the whole swing so that’s what I feel like I’ve learned with this one uh which is a nice build from the setup because that quite clearly is step one we’re putting the
Walls on now yeah and now I’ve got okay know the range of motion so it’s keeping those habits the process the breae in you same Bol if that helps me and really starting to kind of make sure that that foot is doing that consistently so as we
Go on to the next one yeah um it a little bit more yeah so can we just hit one more hold your finish for me yep uh I just want to highlight some things so that you can remember these when you’re practicing and then you can tell me what we’re
Going to do next time because I’m feeling good soften you say B hold it so how’s your balance pretty good where are you facing forward what’s your right foot do everything it should be up on your toe yeah where’s the club finished like where it should be yeah
And how did you physically feel like a golfer like a golfer relaxed yeah no relax yeah now imagine if you can hit shots in Balance like that and then you know I start to show you where we put the speed in how much better that’s
Going to be and by the way you just hit the most perfect draw shot which is the Holy Grail everybody’s after that little draw shot uh so there’s some great numbers on there and I think next time what we’ll do is we’ll we’ll dig into those numbers a bit more we’ll show you
A bit more information um on on screen of of what you the angle that you’re hitting it from the club face but if I if I dig into those two early you forget about the fundamentals of what we’ve done so like I said that your P clay we’ve got a shape now then
We can start to polish things we can start to improve little things that will make quite a big difference but I feel confident now that you can repeat this if I’m not here brilliant yeah what’s a draw shot by the way a draw shot is a
Shot that starts to the right of Target and comes back to T is the most natural go shot that we can hit so fade shot would start left Target if you’re right golf Fade to the right yeah well that one started right and come back to
Target which is a beautiful shot to see on a golf course but it’s actually a very natural thing which we’ll we’ll show in the future ones yeah enjoyed it yeah loved it you’re doing brilliant absolutely brilliant welcome Do [Applause] wow so the difference from where you were at the very start of these sessions to where you are now is completely different

Loving the series of videos with Luke, great teacher pupil relationship, its great the way that Luke takes instruction and soaks up new information like a sponge . Luke has improved a lot in a short space of time and I love his enthusiasm to learn. It's a great series of video's not only for beginners but for golfers of all standards . As you know Julian I have been practicing the easiest swing and following you for around 4 years and you have been producing some great teaching videos, but this series has been so rewarding to watch , well done to you and of coarse Luke and it will be great to see him make further improvement in the video's to come.
