I’m challenging myself to playing the long tees to try to IMPROVE my disc golf game (New Series)

In order to try to improve my distance and overall disc golf game, I’ve decided to spend 2024 tackling the long tees from our local courses, including Chattahoochee Pointe Park, my most played course. I am planning on recording a video here once a month for a year to see if I can shoot under par by the end of the year.

Hey everybody welcome back to PG disc golf Happy New Year to you all in today’s video we’re going to be starting off a new monthly series that we’re going to be doing here on the channel where I try to break even here at the long teas of chattah huchi Point Park

Let’s get this party started shall We all right obviously I’m stealing this idea from Foundation disc golf they did a series on their channel the break 68 Series where they’re trying a break even at New London Tech a very very difficult course we’re not going so extreme here chatt Point Park is not known to be the

Check them out by following that link down in the description I would really appreciate that but I really wanted to get this series started where I try to shoot under par here at chattah huchi Point long teas if you’re familiar with our Channel you know chattah huchi Point

Park is probably the course that I play the most I do most of our videos here and lately I felt like I’ve been in sort of a slump because I just haven’t felt myself getting that much extra distance I haven’t really been playing much better than I have been for the past

Year or so and I thought maybe I need to challenge myself and maybe play these long te’s to push myself to throw further and I think that might help my game also fun fact Sandra sent me a post last year letting me know that the panone of the year for 2024 is peach

Fuzz so it’s peachy’s year 2024 we’re making changes we’re gonna try to play better yeah we’re going to do this series once a month come out here to the long teas at chattah huchi Point Park see if we can beat par let’s give it a shot see what our Baseline is today

Kicking things off here at hole one 300 ft par three the basket is going to be off on the right side here so you can either go straight at it down the right side or you can go with a forehand or a turnover down the left Gap and Let It

Fade in in obviously this is a significantly easier hole from the short T because you’re right at the mouth of those two openings now both of those gaps are much smaller I’m going to be going with a Servo here this is a Servo I got from buoy after I lost my crave I

Was talking to him and he’s like you should try the servo out because this Servo is extremely Flippy and I did throw it and I was like wow this does seem to fly just like my crave did and I actually have a Crave in the bag that is

Even more overstable than this so I sort of took my old Servo out of the bag put this one in as my crave replacement for now and then I have a overstable Crave in I’m using as sort of a Servo kind of weird but I’ve been enjoying this so

We’re going to be aiming down the right Gap and try to just get it close I just want to stay in the Fairway not too far off to the right or left I don’t expect to get a birdie here but this is one of the holes I do expect at some point that

I may be able to birdie oh way too low and down the right Gap that was terrible this is going to be a rough one it’s been really cold a little bit of rain intermittent as well so I haven’t gotten to throw regularly I’ve just played like one day here and there

But off to a bad start I got a couple of trees just sort of right in my way I could go heer but I think this tree sort of on the right is sort of in the area where I would want to throw my Hiser so

I think I’m going to go with a more of a gentle turnover on the left side of these trees and I’m going to do that with my glitch okay should be a 10-footer okay I left this way short wow that was really bad we’re like 20 25 ft

Here woo let’s go nice save the par hole two 570 ft par 4 just have to make it through this initial tight Gap and then hopefully land somewhere around the short te which you might be able to just sort of see in that right Gap there pretty open shot

After that but getting through this Gap is definitely the trickiest part I’m going to try try to throw something a little on anheiser to go a little to the right so I’m going to go with my wave here oh not enough turn going to be off on the left there

That’s not bad though at least it’s open got okay distance but like I said EV it on the left it would have been better being in the actual Fairway just got to try to bomb something as far as I can so going with my lightweight X3 oh I threw it right into the

Tree and it didn’t come down oh yeah did I’m so bad right now this is going to be a pretty tough save from got a stand still here going with the Crave just throwing it off to the right hopefully but I don’t I don’t think I’m going to get the

Distance yeah pretty short I could make that but I don’t know if I’m going to edge of circle look here not bad but footing on the hill as well a little awkward let’s go this is a hole I won’t be burning anytime soon hole three is

380 ft it’s a par three basket is Straight Ahead just got to make it through the uh significantly smaller Gap from back here but just got to make it through the Gap land in the opening I actually don’t even know if I can make it to the Gap honestly just want to get

Into the mouth of the opening to have an easy approach so I’m going to try that lightweight X3 again we do have a little bit of a headwind though so I am going to sort of aim it towards the left side of the opening oh nice right in the Gap let’s

Go we’re going to go with the proxy that’s been I replaced a couple of Putters put some MVP stuff back in that should settle nice yeah okay another part hole four is the longest hole in the course I fully anticipate bogeying or Worse on this hole we’ve been throwing

Not amazing but we’ve been surviving whole four is 970 ft it’s a par five really my goal is just to sort of get up to the short te honestly and then from there make it through the two sets of gaps if I had a really good throw I’d

Be very happy to make it through and past that first tree line but I don’t expect that to happen there’s a pretty strong headwind here I’m going to be going with an X3 again this time I’m going with my 500 Spectrum though add a little bit more stability no

Flip oh that’s way left that’s a that’s death I hit the trees okay so I’m in the ditch down here so I’m not going to be able to run up I do have an opening though so I’m going with something overstable going with the bear trying to

Go through the main gap on the second trees and there’s some Thorns right here that sucks just try to make it through oh too straight oh no it’s fine okay that works out okay this definitely could have been way worse uh I just need to get past

This set of trees here on the left here still a pretty strong headwind so I’m going to go with something overstable I could go with that X3 again I’m going to go with my Photon though I put this back in the bag recently very similar hand

Feel to the wave just a bit more overstable at the end little nose up there but that should be past the trees I think just barely not bad all right so far we’re making good progress down the Fairway if I get a good throw here we could even get a par

Which I did not expect to happen 280 I think from the pin I have no clue I’m going to go Fairway we’re going to go with the resistor here over stable oh way too direct but I put anheiser on it but it’s way short nope

It’s skipping right up to it God how did that work that should not be anywhere close to the basket that was crazy lucky I don’t know what it is my resistor I I do know compared to other people’s that I’ve thrown is definitely less overstable than most I think my crave

Even might be more overstable that I have very strange I am so excited to get a par here though that’s awesome so I do know that I can get it hole 5 is 225 ft par three we have a very narrow tunnel shot with the basket straight

Ahead I had a really good throw from the long te using a pyro on forehand and I do bag a pyro again after that actually I put it back in the bag but I’m not going to go with that I’ve been going I’m going to be going with a disc that

I’ve been loving lately The Detour I have a couple of videos out about it right now you can check those out if you want but I have been loving this laser beam of a disc try to get it nice and straight down the Fairway let’s see how it

Goes oh too high and too right oh it’s fighting through though I think I’m pin High I think I’m pin high I might have a putt you know sometimes it’s just better to be lucky than good if I make this uh if I make this we

Could do it today series over we got a 15t putt here uphill danger behind so oh man the putter is on right now okay we’re under par already just got to keep it we do have a lot of scary holes though coming up where I can lose

It very quickly hole six is 335 ft par three the basket you might be able to see in that left Gap and obviously from the te we got two options we can go with the wider slightly more open open opening and have something fade in or we

Can go a little more straight out the basket through the narrow opening honestly I just need to make it past the trees and from there it’s a very manageable approach I’m going to go with overstable bear here on the right side try to Let It Fade back a little bit

Hopefully we make it through this Gap oh there we go perfect it’s short but that’s a chip approach to get a par there we’re going to go with my 400 plastic pa3 try to get this right under the Basket okay hole 7 I think might be one of the hardest holes here on the course it’s 390 ft Par 3 we have two very skinny gaps to make it through before we get to the open part of the Fairway from the short te this hole is so much easier

You’re right at the mouth of that second opening from the long here this is going to be tricky if I can make it past both sets of trees I will be so happy that is like my main objective but it is going to be very tricky honestly I will be

Lucky if I make it past the first Gap I’m going to be going with my resistor doesn’t really have much flip but it doesn’t have much fade either so we’re going to just try to lace it through as far as we can that got so lucky I made it through both gaps but

Not because I laced them I went just to the right of that second tree and there are some bushes there that it could have very easily gotten Tangled Up In so here you can see just how lucky that drive was I made it between those two trees on

The right which is absolutely crazy this approach is still not a gimme but I’m very happy to be here we got to make the most out of it this is still not a gimme approach by any means there is still a bit of a wind I’m going to be going with

My 300 plastic A5 throw it a little off to the right just got to get this distance correct oh I threw that way too wide luckily I put it on enough Hiser that’s so short oh and it’s a headwind putt o okay we’ve been making these similar distance to

The putts we’ve made so far oh my god let’s go my putter is on today whole eight is 295 ft par three this should be the last hole where we’re throwing into the sun except maybe hole 18 we just have this one little Gap to make

It through but the basket is off to the right so the best play would be a forehand if you have a 300t forehand which I don’t um and I do not trust my forehand to make it through the Gap even so we’re going to go with a slight

Turnover backhand I’m going with the servo just want to make it through the Gap again a lot of these shots off long T if you make it through the Gap it’s just a very open approach so just got to make it through the Gap from there we

Should have a manageable approach to the basket oh no oh it made it through wow I’m I’m just blessed today I guess basket is right there but unfortunately this tree in front of the basket is sort of in my normal heer line there is are some like low hanging

Branches so you don’t want to throw too high if you’re going to go with a forehand or a turnover approach which is probably the smarter play but I don’t trust my forehanded enough and I’m going to be going with a backand here with my A3 around the right side of the tree on

Heiser we just got to judge this distance correctly Here did I juice it no it’s perfect okay I did juice it a little bit but it’s still only 10 ft whole 9 is 305 feet par three this is definitely one of the holes at some point I imagine I’ll be able to birdie maybe we can get close obviously though

The biggest Hazard is this extremely low hanging Branch going to go with my lightweight X3 here we have a tail wind coming back this way so oh man that was bad okay we’re not in the trees we are just shy of pin high so I can definitely get a birdie on this

Hole in future videos unfortunately though I’m outside ccle two with a very obstructed putt you can see got to go to a knee here but I could give this a little run no good run attempt but just getting a par oh my God the nerves are getting to

Me just snuck that in there we’re one under through the front nine so this could be it I don’t want to get my hopes up because hole 12 is going to be a tough one hole 16 there are some pretty tricky holes still coming up but we’ve
