The early 1900s Sports went in and out of fashion just like clothes do for example in the 1860s croquet was really popular in the 1880s somebody invented a new kind of rubber that made tennis balls way bouncier so tennis became super fashionable in the 1890s it was the bicycle when was roller skating

Super trendy I want to say that that was the early 1900s that one got super popular because it was public enough to be socially acceptable but private enough to have like an actual conversation just before 1910 it was golf that was having a moment all of these things were leisure activities for

People who could afford to participate in them so each different sport required its own special outfit no matter how inconvenient it was all of these things still adhere to the fashionable silhouette of the day even if that meant bustles pett coats and yes sometimes even high heels and here’s the finished

Look this is a ladies golf suit from about 1908 it’s based on one owned by the Victorian Albert Museum as you can see there are a lot of men’s wear influences in this outfit which were really popular in sports wear as well as women’s work wear of the period

  1. Only one problem…that tweed was apt to be wool! Would have you keeling over from heatstroke in the southern USA states! That said- really sharp looking outfit! 🎉🎉🎉

  2. I swore this said golf for literally a full minute so I was listening contently to a full thing about old sports and had no questions about how it related to goth clothes but yet you’re so entertaining I didn’t care
