Hello America and curling fans from Canada and New Finland this is your host Ryan Olsen bringing you the championship game from the 20124 Mopac mixed playdowns as the uh dra challenges completes uh the uh ice tats are finishing cleaning up the ice and we are about ready to get underway between the
Undefeated top seed team Murray of Coyote’s curing Club taking on the defending champs and number two seed uh Team sigin of coyotes Denver curling and San Francisco Bay Area curling we’ve got uh the top two teams in the field facing off for the championship the winner punches their
Ticket to the national championships and a chance to advance to Worlds if they win so there’s a lot on the line uh please uh buckle up we’re going to have a great time as the uh lead for team Murray Kimber morone gets set to throw the first
Stone has been curling for six years and uh they were undefeated through pool play and the semifinal game that was held this morning uh where they faced off against the uh Team Maxi that actually won this event two years ago so uh some top caliber teams in this event
And uh going against each other head-to-head and uh this is the uh the cream of the crop it’s uh floated to the top as it were uh to uh steal a phrase from Kevin Martin I’m sure Kevin Martin didn’t coin the phrase he uh just uses it a
Lot as we see uh Brianna Welden throw her first rock as uh Murray’s first stone went into the top of the house going to hit and roll to the wing uh looks to be in the the back eight foot and it looks like uh skip Sean Murray is
Asking H Kim Kimber to uh take that on GNA do some over theh shoulder view here looks like it’s uh curling up okay going to hit and roll out but it does accomplish the Miss mission of clearing that sign Stone so I think just looking for a draw from Brianna second
Here as I can hear her sliding down the ice Brianna so team sign they do fun facts and there fun facts were uh sandwich based this time and so her fun fact was that she doesn’t like sandwiches and will only eat a Subway in Wall South Dakota out of desperation so
I’m going to guess that wall doesn’t have too many eateries to uh Chow Down at as that is a uh Rock that’s about the at the T line as the uh second for maray Brandon Ellison makes his way down the Ice uh Brandon has been curing for six
Years I think Murray wants them to sweep weep and also for people on the broadcast can you hear that because if you can’t hear that we uh maybe need to adjust a setting so uh hits and rolls out after a lot of screaming and shouting as it were uh we see uh Sean
Frainy do the uh clockwise turn uh looking to draw to the uh right side of the sheet Sean eats one to two Subway Club Foot Longs per visit and I kind of said before I can understand the one foot long but the second foot long
Uh that might be a foot two far for me so Brandon’s throwing his net shot looking for another takeout it is sign that has the hammer not quite sure if they did the draw shot to measure to see who is going to be uh hammer uh sometimes in the
Playoffs they have the top SE have the choice of uh rocks and Hammer so this is going to be another takeout from Sean looking for some up weights just like the Disney Pixar movie Ratatouille eclips it uh the shooter is going to roll to the back 12 is it going to stick
Around it does not it sits in the uh back line it’s still in play but it is not scoring uh that is a one of the kind of variations of the rule uh when it comes to uh curling where uh Stone has to fully cross over the the thick blue
Line that’s towards the front of the screen and also fully cross the uh back line uh in order to you know establish it’s whether it’s in or out as we now look at the Rock coming from Steph lson uh who’s been curling for either 20 or 30 years the world may never
Know uh choosing to ignore that rock that’s not in the house this is is a bit on the heavy side and uh Mike sigs is going to escort it from the premises out out darn Stone ye the heck I don’t know uh I don’t know what I was do there for
I don’t know where I was going with that as we see uh Claire blasty uh throw the stone her uh fun fact about Subway is that she likes Subway this is a I think a draw I think they were hoping to sit in front of that
Yellow in the back of of plain sheets uh to provide some backing as it is it uh settles in just about the T line as we see uh Steph’s second shot throwing some upweight here got about eight n 8.9 seconds gets the One S yellow that was in the house
Out uh does not jam on the one in the back so now uh sigs is asking blasty to take it on fl’s throwing as a lefty that’s really close hits and rolls towards the center I say close in terms of the potential of jamming in the back there and uh shot was
Made so now uh Shan Murray makes his way to the pack the delivery side of the sheet and uh just looking for another hit and probably stick as Shawn Murray’s been currently for 22 years years he has a pretty impressive resume of accomplishments uh definitely one of the
Top teams from coyotes and also obviously the top team in this field this year we’ll see if it is enough to help him win his way to the National Championship great hits and roll to the wing out of play that was about a 96 in terms of the uh seconds 9.6
Seconds between the uh blue hog lines and uh one of the fun facts about curling that I teach during the learn to curl what it involves uh the hog line is that it’s an ancient Scottish farming term that refers to the uh the runs of the litter or the animals that would
Otherwise be cull by the farmers and I say that’s apt because that is where Stones go to die and the people that that curl know that the stones uh if they’re short of the hog line they’re out they’re dead and if they um when you’re delivering
The rock you have to let go of the rock before it touches the hog line or else the rock is dead so uh I think looking to draw here this is Mike Sig’s first I see this is going to be a pretty straightforward draw so this will be a
Good chance to see how uh quick the ice is measuring the uh hog to hog about 15 seconds this looks pretty good it settles in right on the eight foot circle so 15 seconds so I think you’re looking maybe about 14 and a half uh for
Uh tline weight maybe just a little less so that is uh I think at the club’s preferred speed for uh tline weight and so now Murray is going to hit and roll and uh this is a this is a blank that shaping up by the way
Guys um as a Murray gets set going to hit and hopefully stick it’s going to hits and then it’s going to roll to the wing out of play and so now sign is GNA find a place anywhere on the sheet that he thinks might make it hard for Murray
To hit him out but definitely certainly the lank is on here in this first end uh something that you might expect against uh when you see top teams uh face off against each other uh the first end is usually kind of running the stones uh
Down the sheet toh get a sense for the ice and uh kind of see the the caliber of the uh competition this actually is a little oh it sign this tone this is it’s the last Rock to the end it’s a blank all he had to do is

Time as uh Brianna Welden makes her delivery uh she is the vice of the squad throwing first uh her favorite Oakland Zoo animal is the playful and curious California condor which uh I don’t know how playful the Cal California condor is but uh good to know uh doesn’t make the contact and uh
Is now sitting shot in the eight foot ring so Kimber was the 2020 five and under National Championship C event winner also reached the five and under national championship in 2023 uh I think by virtue of winning the Pacific Northwest region at the 5 and under and also scored an eight Ender in
H 2019 which is a a pretty solid accomplishment and that is a center guard on the center line which means that for until after the fifth Rock to the end that rock cannot be moved off of the center line by the opposed in team that the opposing team Nots that
Guard off the center line the uh original stone is put back in place and the offending stone is yed from Play It’s called The no tick Rule and so it appears that uh sigin is asking Brianna to draw around the guard and come into the house and and that’s
Kind of one of the reasons why the rle was put into effect was to to generate some offense uh put more rocks into play uh that was just a little too heavy by about a foot at least out of play and we’re game on so sign is sitting shot right now and
Murray wants to take it on lots of weight there got it hits uh the shot stone is gone and the shooter rolls to the sign from this view it is not in play from this view I mean it’s in play it’s not scoring I need to be precise it is not
In the house it is not scoring and so now Sean frainy is going to uh deliver I think just looking to peel the guard here lots of Weights we saw some missiles from the signant team in the semifinal definitely gets the guard going and the shooter itself rolls to a
Corner guard and so uh Murray is going to ask his second Brandon to draw around and Brandon’s uh was also at those five n events that that Kimber was at he doesn’t have the eight on the eight Ender on his resume so I I wonder if that was done with a different
Team this looks like it could be a little light uh got 143 so uh sweeping with the sweepers they are probably going to get it there and and indeed it’s uh pretty close in terms of the weights in terms of the line not so much I
Think as uh it looks like sigin has a hidden roll under the cover of the center guard a Sean’s favorite Oakland Zoo animal is the Asian forest scorpion also uh the bio included a scorpion emoji blasty is really sweeping that rock to go down the Ice uh needs to hold the
Line it looks like it’s there it does uh clip the red and the shooter will roll but uh I think past the cover of the center guard exposed and so now I think Murray is going to try to do a hit and roll from the other side uh that yellow is behind
The sea line uh so it’s not quite as ideal as some of those other rocks as we see Steph Larson make her way down the sheets uh Steph was at the uh 2015 MST National Championship ah this is really taking off on them but does H clip it and the shooter
Itself will roll through the house out of play so we’re seeing a situation similar to the first end where uh teams are training to hit back and forth and leaving a mostly blank sheet uh setting up a possible blank for the San Squad as we see uh Claire blasty deliver
Here uh her favorite Oakland Zoo animal is the gray wool and so it’s going to be around the guard and where is it going to end up undercover so that’s like a really shot solid shot there dramatic zooms as we see the N Stone coming from
Step uh she was also at the 2010 Olympic team trial she’s kind of doing a force Power move I guess like whoa looking toh sit on top of that siging stone needs to come over a bunch and it’s not there it’s it’s a bit too
Heavy uh it’s going to go to the back eight it looks like and it does indeed come to a rest in front of the word matter and the phrase black lives matter so I think San is going to kind of load the box as it were and put in
Another stone with Claire’s last here in this uh second end and looking at the overhead looks like it might be curling into the guard so this could uh perhaps create an opportunity for Murray here in the second end um it does create more of an offset cluster of guards but there still
Is a draw to the button and that does seem to be what uh Murray is going for John Murray was the 2022 men’s club National Champion also has made 11 appearances at the midst National Championship I would assume most of those are for our region Mopac the mountain Pacific curling Association or
Mo no one has ever said it that way before and I don’t don’t think anyone will ever say it that way again uh he’s he’s been to midst Nationals 11 times reaching the semi-finals nine times uh finishing with a bronze medal four times and then claiming the silver
Twice and also won an outright men’s national championship in 2013 so looking for a draw here supers are really digging in this side don’t know if it has the distance it’s a guard not a bad shot can kind of see how those guards uh stack up against each other so for
Cidan the broom is down he’s gon to try to take on that draw San’s favorite Oakland Zoo animal is the jaguar 100% Beauty and Power and let’s see looks like it’s around the guard really easily but where is it going to sit down I think it’s going to
Go to the back 12 although rocks do dig in when they slow here this ice this weekend and it does slow to the back eight line the back eight Circle so now Murray is going to uh kind of follow sigon down uh the situation looks like it is uh sigan sitting first
And third shot Murray is sitting two the second shot uh you guys can see the digital clocks in the background uh each team has 30 minutes to play eight ends of Regulation uh and that’s thinking time so that is the uh time between when they get control of the ice to when they
Begin their delivery so the clock will stop right now as uh sha marray delivers his last Rock to the end looking to get around the guards and sits I think ideally on the side of the button uh this is around the guard very easily it’s going to settle in the back
Of the for foot for second shot but it is uh pretty well protected there’s some backing so uh Sig I don’t think it would be slightly tricky for Sig to get it out but I think there might be a shot there although from this angle it looks
A little tricky but basically he just needs to tap that uh red back for two and I think that is shot that uh Mike sigin is uh looking for here right goodness it shots away a heavy draw I think backline weights is the uh the weight that’s needed here says lines getting better
And it was a draw ends up a draw for one so uh blanking the first end hoping for a multiple Point second end did not pan out for Sig but he’s on the board and holds a one Z lead as so we’re going to take a pause for a minute when we come

To the back fall off the back of the sheets so as uh sean gets his uh shot set here uh just to maybe take a look at uh how we got here as uh Kimber second shot is away I’m I think looking for another
Draw so we had uh as you can see from these playoff standings we had three pools of uh two pools had five teams each in one pool had four teams the top two teams from each field Advanced to the playoffs and then the top two seeds
Got a buy to the semi-finals um and so Murray got the one seed by nature of going undefeated 4 and0 in his pool then and then sigan is the two seed as you can see uh he went three and one won I believe in his pool uh those definitely
Were the top two teams in the field and then the semifinals sorry the quarterfinals included team Felman of one country taking on Maxi of one country uh matxi won that contest uh fairly strongly and then uh Team lir of coyote has took on team palay of oval
Kurling of Utah and Dallas Fortworth and again that was a super close game until lir really opened it up that was last night this morning we had the semi-finals between Murray and Maxi uh Murray and Maxi that was a pretty close contest but Murray pulled away and then
Sigin versus lir Sig just put on a clinic to punch his team’s ticket to the finals which you are watching right now so just uh now you guys know in knowledge’s power as looks like Brandon is being asked toh hit the uh single yellow shot Stone in the
House this is going to hit and roll and as as Kimberly noted in the YouTube chat I said coyotes a lot um there are there were four coyotes based teams in the semifinals and uh this final is is between team Murray which is solely from Team coyotes and uh team cians which
They all have ties to coyotes uh sigan himself is from coyotes CLA Blas you was at coyotes until she uh went to uh University in the Bay Area is now curling out of San Francisco and then also uh Brianna and Sean I do believe curled out of coyotes at one point
Uh although they’re now both currently out of Denver so lots of coyotes connections as it were which is also the title of my unofficial uh Curling Club newsletter out of Tempe so I’ve only been sued for uh copyright infringement a couple times but coyotes connections pick it up at your new stand
Today Sean says the line’s pretty good looks like it might be over curling they held the line really well uh Marie wanted the rock brought right to that yellow and it did tapped a little bit so create some separation that signes could use uh he can maybe
Attack it from the outside and uh kind of uh bump the red through the center of the house out of play and that does to be the broom that’s been called for uh Claire’s first shot here without the hammer this look’s pretty close oh it gets both the rocks in the
House uh it’s not a bad outcome uh it’s just the red jammed on the yellow both of those Rost out moving and there’s one s yellow in the house and it sounds like Sean wants to try that draw again with a Steph lson doing the honors sweepers are just walking with it uh
Means it’s probably a little hot and it I I got a 16 sorry I got a 136 on that 136 that would be a back eight weight and indeed it does uh kick that yellow to the back 12 I believe it’s out especially when you look at this
Overhead view uh the red shooter is now shot Stone exposed and uh Mike s’s wasted no time laying the broom next to it asking for Claire blasty to blast it out asking for some curl from Sean frainy and does get the red out just call it vizine because it gets the red
Out and the shooter rolls to the back 12 area so this is uh a situation where Murray has a couple options and the shot that was chosen was to draw around that red guard wrong one and that looks like it uh just a little heavy and it’s in about
The same position as the yellow which is uh kind of a Schrodinger’s uh counter as it were uh you know following the uh scientific uh theorem of Schrodinger’s cats where uh an unobserved cat uh I guess trapped in a box of radiation is either alive or dead Dead uh and I just
Depending on the OB like it’s not the the result is not known or observed until the Box is open so schrodingers schinger counters so Mike sing’s uh first rock is away Brianna is uh the vice skip of the squad pridans throwing lead rocks but holding the broom for the skip
Stones you know this is a look like to a draw to sit in front of that red rock so if we’re we’re doing schinger counters uh I definitely think that the uh the red is not not much of an example there it’s it’s a dead parrot as it were the yellow
Is more of a case but I think that is also out however there are two Sig stones that are definitely counting and it looks like um Murray is going to take on the one on the top uh from this view or uh the left from this
View bit of a tricky situation of play has been drawn to the wings into the back of the house so there’s there’s places for Murray to go sweepers are digging in and this uh looks really close I think they wanted to kind of lock it on uh now
This is something that signs could uh chip out as Brianna puts the broom for uh you know taking that stone out to the uh the side and that seems to be the call as uh sign makes his way down the ice Murray is sitting shot right now and Sig
Is looking to um deny Murray that stone this is the last Rock for cyan without the hammer here in the third end look like uh pack weights looks like it’s curling up really nicely uh just looking to uh oh goodness okay so watching the overhead view okay
It finishes pretty well but it’s going to oh it Wicks off of the red I didn’t think it was going to get back enough however it hits the red and rolls somewhat open and so now if Murray noses that last yellow which is shot right now if he noses that yellow and
Sticks Murray gets a deuce to take a 2-1 lead into the fourth end so uh just a lot of great strategy in this game a lot of uh top teams are really uh exploring the ice looking for potential weaknesses to exploit from the other team looking to take the advantage
And right now just a slight Miss by Mike sidan has opened up the door for Shawn Murray to score two here’s a shot Brandon digs in now both sweepers are digging in really need to try and hold the line is it there looks like it’s going to hit the out oh
Goodness it hit the red first then and reflected back onto the yellow so it’s just a single point and just like that what once was an opportunity turns into just a single point uh settings will have the hammer when we come back to the 2024 mopat Ms playdowns brought

Think definitely setting the high bar that we’ve come to expect or meeting the high bar and surpassing it as the draw for a guard uh looks to be made is it going to sit on the center line uh looks like it may have have just uh curled past it uh
Let’s shift the uh overhead camera looks like it is not directly on the center line which means it could be ticked if uh Sans wanted to take it on but it looks like he’s asking Welden to draw around bry’s hat says turned up he’s he’s more different hats on different
Days as far as I can tell and this looks like it is going to go around the guard and settle in to the uh right in front of the pin that was a great draw there from Brianna and Murray is going to follow it down on the uh opposite
Side as the room down for Kimber Justin uh noted that uh the Hat might be turned up for the finals Sunday so the very true so it does get around the center guard and does Corner freeze on top of the sign shot stone that looks like another great shot so these teams uh
We’ve discussed it before on previous broadcasts not necessarily at this tournament but um curling draws a lot of comparisons to golf where you know we talked about reading the ice like you would read the greens when you’re putting but also curling is like golfing in terms of the
Club selection uh just as you might have a golf bag with a Putter and a driver some irons and woods like the number of clubs in your bag does affect the number of uh shot options you might have and it’s kind of the same thing for curling
Where you can have a great draw weight but then you need to have additional golf clubs in your bag the ability to do like a good y weight or uh various levels of takeout weights and stuff and so this what we’re seeing at this event after this long analogy uh both teams
Seem to be fully loaded in their golf bags uh a full set of clubs uh to uh make as many of the shots as possible I mentioned that because the first couple ends we definitely we saw a lot of takeouts hit and rolls and now we’ve got
Into a draw game in this end this this the dynamic the the complexx of the game has changed in the past end and a half and so this shot from Murray is going to unlock the C yellows now has San sitting two with a Murray with shots three and four so
I think the Angels slightly favor Murray and I do believe that’s why uh s is going to take it on now with h Shan Fry’s first shot I believe yes it is his first so this is going to I think chip the red to the the wing oh it runs the red back
Onto the yellows moves things around so sign is still sitting one two but uh there’s a couple options now for Murray and also unlocks the red so uh sigin could punch it out in the subsequent shots so it looks like uh Murray is going to try to do the uh double
Takeout with uh Brandon’s second get one and then the uh yellow that gets run back uh is swept to the edge of the 8ot Ring I think a pretty good shot there uh definitely changes the end around again as sign is shot still but uh Murray appears to be definitely second shot maybe
Third and there’s that yellow that is uh could be third or fourth we have another set of schinger stones I need to do some reading on the schinger cat Theory because I believe that the theory was the cat is uh simultaneously both dead or alive as
Long as the box is closed and we don’t know the outcome however however I think because the cat is trapped in a box with radioactive material that when the Box is open the cat is dead almost in every case there’s some variations I believe o and the double takeout is H close to

Uh Murray we have two Sha’s in this uh contest so I I need to be probably more careful who I say is Whom uh we have not Sean Seth Larson throwing some peel weight here I think looking to get rid of those yellow Stones it’s going to get one and that’s all so just as we had two Sig Stones counting right now it’s just a single Sig Stone exposed uh just on the edge of
The for foot surrounded by a bevy of Murray Reds a ring of Murray Reds so this net shot coming from Claire blasy I think it’s a draw and I time I’m timing it looks like maybe a it’s a draw I forgot to stop timing it is a draw that would have been
A really good uh one to time as it settles in at the top foref foot so Murray is looking over the options I think hitting the uh I think hitting the top yellow and maybe redirecting onto the uh yellow would be a good call or hitting and rolling which
Seems to be what he’s going for it’d be kind of a I think it’ be hard to do a slash you can’t do a slash double so it looks like he’s going to hit and roll is the call for uh Larson that looks to be a control way
There calling for the oh this took off on them look like’s going to curl into the guard I think I heard Maria say that it was a a good line just uh or it was a good shot just uh not the right room and so now uh
This has been a fun to watch this end it’s great to watch these top caliber teams face off against each other as uh the door seems to be opening for team Sig here in this fourth end for a multiple Point score multiple Point end as CL shot is away I think just
Looking to uh pull one in the top not the top of the house I think they want to be either a tight guard or just touching the house they don’t want to go any deeper than that although this is going to go a little deeper than that uh so this could be a
Freeze and turns into a uh gentle tap which is my sequel to the movie Gentle Ben which I’ve uh not seen so I do not know the story of I assume it deals with uh Uncle Ben from Spider-Man perhaps so with those two rocks uh lined

Doesn’t finish it finishes pretty good that is uh that is a corner freeze maybe not as quite locked on as they may have hoped but a pretty solid shot there from Mike sigs and so it looks like Murray is g to take out one of the yellows uh I think maybe considering
That there is a high possibility of a team SE dece uh I think looking to hit and maybe roll under cover just to narrow the scoring Circle ever so slightly but well played End by signant especially after Murray did a lot of work to clear some of the signant stones from the
House this is last Rock for sha Murray without the hammer here in the fourth end sweepers digging in and it does curl it hits the yellow it looks like it jammed in the back uh but uh does not look like sings will be able to bring
That yellow in the back into play and so uh Sans uh is going to uh tap that red out and score two here if the shot is made uh nothing that’s guaranteed in curling there’s always the uh odd happen stance but this is a a uh takeout or two by

Welcome back to our continuing coverage of the championship game from the 2024 Mopac M playdowns uh presented by double takeout.com it’s been a great game so far uh teams have had some opportunities and haven’t punched their tickets uh this could be the end for team Murray who uh has the hammer this end
We’re seeing the second Stone coming from the s Lead Rihanna and does punch out that Murray stone that was put there by Kimber Moroni and it looks like Murray is choosing to ignore that stone and uh puts up a corner guard uh someone in the chat just asked can we
Assume both teams are going to Nationals regardless and our our view and I say this unofficially is that the odds are pretty good but it’s not definitive um the scenario is uh every region can send a representative to Nationals and then there’s enough space for another team
And they’ll be chosen based on the number of injuries and so things are looking really good for us we had 14 teams in our field uh and So based on that you know if entries close today I believe we would get that second birth however registration is not closed
Across the country there’s some regions that still have open registration and so until that registration is closed we don’t know for sure I hope that helps so the corner guard was put up and sigin is going to try to take advantage of that does settle in somewhat
Protected although if you look at it from the head-on view it’s it’s pretty exposed if uh Murray chose to take it on and that seems to be the case looking to draw on top of it kind of drawing the play to the wings to try to generate some offense here in
This fifth end of a potential eights and the play regulation I apology apologies uh if the score is tied after eight there H can be an extra end oh and this was just a smidge heavy uh does crash on the yellow and the shooter rolls to the back 12 for third
Shot so just a little Miss there uh creating a bit of an opportunity for Sans and also that uh Yellowstone to the wings is now fully buried as Shan frany gets set and just looking to hit that red out just so uh Murray can’t use it later in the
End and uh shot made mission accomplished cidan is sitting three so Murray again trying to um gener Genera multiple points also uh trying to avoid giving up a criced number uh I was looking to draw around that corner guard again uh was also maybe looking at hitting and rolling on the yellow that’s
Towards the bottom of the screen from this view uh and has opted for that uh draw around the corner guard Let’s uh give your time on this between the blue lines I got 154 that time so that would be uh top eight I believe especially as the
Sweepers are really digging in here uh and they don’t quite wrap it around the corner guard but it is good for second shots uh but it is open and uh Sig is looking at uh plucking that out does run the potential risk of jamming which might be a concern but he could uh
Curl to the face of the red and just kind of hit it nose hit it on the nose it seems to be what the shot is as Sig puts the room down for clear blasty so sweepers are on it around the guard hits the red on the schnaz and SS is now sitting
Four and the Murray isn’t a bit of a jam he’s in a bind and looking for a deal we’ll see if he can rosin up his bow and play his fiddle hard he has the broom down basically gonna kind try to do the same shot that Claire just threw
As Steph Larson makes her way down the ice looks pretty good need need to maybe curl up a little bit more it looks like it’s there it’s going to roll uh under slightly under the cover so I don’t think signs can try that shot again uh marray does does cut the uh scoring
Potential down to one right now and now s is just going to ask blasty to uh clip it out just like a coupon in the Penny Saver remember the Penny Saver Guys pepp Farm remembers so just to clip it out the shooter is going to roll through the
House out of play and so now Sig is down to three that corner guard is still up and Sig Murray is back to trying to draw around that corner guard as uh we are at the last of the third Stones yes uh Brett noted in the uh
YouTube chat that uh mopat has had a very favorable situation of sending teams to Nationals uh the past couple years as uh sigin won this event but the runnerup team McDonald was able to uh go to the uh midst Nationals uh that were held in Denver and I do believe they’re
Going to be in Denver again this year so uh it’s definitely a uh West Coast uh championship in terms of location and I think that’s fair favorable to uh our teams who are traveling any friends and family that want to go watch uh that draw I think they may have want may have
Wanted it to be a stone higher because if it was a stone higher than Sans would have a harder time plucking it out uh as it sits right now uh Sig can do the patented nose hits I don’t know who patented it but it’s p patented coined and
Minted looking for a nose hit to punch that red out also if it Clips the yellow on the way that’s not the end of the world for team s they’re sitting two or three right now I think two actually s is sitting just the one
So this is going to be a key shot coming down from Mike siggins looks like it’s really close and it will clip the red out the shooters going to roll to the back 12 and just like that sings is sitting four Once More a quote Lenor as we broadcast by the
Seashore there’s a there is a shore of Swords uh we are uh near the airport which is on the shore of the San Francisco Bay just Bay Shore is a thing so uh Murray is facing a challenging situation um looking to I think I think being forced to one
Would not be a bad outcome in this end uh because there’s four citings rocked in the house there’s not any way for Murray to get rid of all of them and he has two rocks to go so they were looking at um hitting that bottom yellow and rolling
Towards the center uh and then they’ve chosen to uh I think draw into those yellows in the back uh and that would be potentially shot or second depending on where the yellow where sorry where the Murray red comes to rest because if if he freezes on top of that
Yellow right on the center that would be second shots so again uh some clutch shots are needed by Sha Murray here in the fifth 141 which looks pretty good for weight looks like it’s going to tap the uh yellow back they don’t want too much separation uh and just a gentle tap I
Believe as we look at the situation on the overhead camera the uh button cam brought to you by Levis uh not the jeans Levis butttons and it looks like just based on where the broom is and the weight they would need I think they’re going to throw hack weights at
That red just to push it further back um and then really Force Murray to a single shot a single point pardon me so after staring at that shot for a long time he’s changed the broom as you can see uh ranna’s put the broom right next
That red stone and uh the sweepers have changed positions I think to um determine the optimal position I think uh putting Fry on the other side to hold the line as the shots away Fran is going to dig in they want to uh just uh pick out that red and it does it
Gets two of the yellows moving but uh that’s there’s still more than enough sitting stones to uh Force Murray to a single here if Murray makes the shot um there could be a crazy crous double uh that would be n to impossible to make uh
And Murray is not going to take it on and risk giving up two at this point as the broom is down looking for a draw about 14 and a half seconds to the four foot this is the last shot coming from Shawn Murray here in the fifth well 149 so the weights really
Good uh they they could probably be off as it needs to sit and it does uh in the back for foot so that’s good for a single and uh just seeing that end unfold I think uh Murray is going to be pretty happy to escape that end with a

That so sitting to sitting shot with the Hammer as uh Murray puts up two Center guards as Brianna throws her second Stone here in this sixth end I think looking to draw into the house maybe a little upweight although I heard maybe 14 one and that will settle in the uh the
Back four foots touching that four foot ring and Murray is opting to draw on top of that sing stone with a Brandon Ellison’s first here both teams are doing really well on time so I I know uh in the earlier game people really liked really liked us
Having the clocks on the entire game and we definitely had them on because with the overhead views the clocks aren’t visible however I kind of like uh just only showing the clock sparingly because you know timing timing is important but it shouldn’t be the end all and be all
Um which might be an old FY way of viewing things um there’s not a shot clock in curling yet there’s an overall thinking clock but not every shot is timed to the uh you know the nanc so with Murray sitting second shot uh sting is opting to clear the guards
With uh Shan Fry’s first and it clears one of the guards with a a with a with a punch but no Judy just punch each uh Team uh speaking of the clock uh does have one twom minute timeout uh the timeouts are usually a little shorter but uh we Grant additional time for
Coaches and when we grant that time for the coach we Grant it for uh all teams as well so it’s a two-minute timeout one during regulation and uh should the game reach extra end and extra end there is one one additional timeout not total or not you can’t add the timeouts it’s just
One timeout either in regulation or extra end so that does tap the sitting Stone back and the uh 8 foot ring and so now Maria is sitting two uh those rocks are a little open but there’s there’s a little little bit of coverage which is why sens is opting to uh clear this
Remaining guard uh perhaps get two out of this and we’ll clip one and that’s all as the shooter rolls to the side out of play uh Dan in the chat was saying that we could time to the fto second which I would worry about our poor
Volunteers at that point they had to do that so with two in the house counting right now I think um Marie’s opting to ask Steph Larson to put the guard back up with her first here and the line has got to be the most important part here as it is a
165 hog to hog and uh as it finishes it about half covers the uh the top red and also a kind of sort of blocks the back red and Sans took no time at all to put the broom down asking Clare blasty to clear that guard
Again and gets one and clips the red in the back oh but that red in the back jamed on the yellow so it clears one of the yellows in the house moves the Reds around kind of improves the situation for sigin a bit uh Murray is sitting two
There’s one sitting Stone on the edge of the 12 foot and it looks like Murray wants to put the guard back up not too bad of a call I think essentially trying to force sigs to draw the forefoot for a single point as the end continues to unfold heard the line is
Tight so it just kind of took off on them and so it’s going to over curl that was a 178 by the way so that was more than a second slower and that ended about uh eight feet maybe 10 feet shorter than where uh kimber’s first shot was ended over
Curled but also as John Murray was saying it was tight uh pretty much out of hand so now uh cidan has a chance to uh you know clear some of these Reds in the house so sweepers are really trying to hold the line it’s around both of the
Guards it’s going to knows the uh red tap it to the back of the 12 foots where it sits and looking at the overhead cam now it appears that Murray is still shots and fourth Stone but Sid is two and three so uh Murray might be facing a little bit
Of danger depending on how he uh calls his n shots he’s looking to perhaps draw to get to the forefoot in the button area first uh possibly sending up a Rays the other thing that Murray could do is it just hits the yellow out now that’s touching the uh the 8 foot rain
The uh the top of the uh yellow rainbow in Black lives matter and you know get rid of one of the potential sign counters also uh maybe you’re looking to hit the outside yellow and roll in but the draws the more simple shots but uh you know these teams
Like I said earlier have a lot of clubs in their golf bag and so uh which one is going to be the uh the seven iron of curling shots so opting for the draw here uh looking to I believe be full four foot maybe touching the edge of the
Button so I think looking for at least three feet of curl as uh Shan Murray makes his way to the hack this is also a side of the ice they haven’t been on lately so I wonder if it might be running a little slower we will definitely have toh see what happens
Here weight looks pretty good out of hand if I were to judge it and it can be kind of tricky to judge uh how deliveries look from this video screen this might be over curling on them sweepers are really digging in is it around the guard it’s around
The guard now they’re digging in to see how far they can get it and is it going to get there it gets there for second shot what an excellent sweeping job there so now I think uh sing is going to take on that rig that was a wellplayed team shot I got 15
Seconds hog to hog or 1497 so that’s about at least a half second off of what would be a solid taline weight so now might say San is going to look to raise his Yellow Stone of the house to the button with his first here in the sixth
End so say they say it needs to curl a little bit as uh the sweepers are now off of it looks like it does need the curl just a smidge more it’s pretty close though and it does tap and raise that sit’s yellow to the top of the
Lid again we’re seeing great shots from the people throwing the rots but also good sweeping and uh you know um Judgment of the shot as it travels down the ice by the skiping the vice skips so again I think these teams are showing why they made the finals here
So now Murray doesn’t have the hammer and with that sitting Stone on the button talking about what to do here let’s see if we can hear all right the Brew is down and uh we mentioned the inof being a possibility before that is now the shot for Murray
If it’s made it would deflect the red Murray Stone onto the yellow on the button and be sitting three uh Marie I think is concerned about giving up two in the situation uh but is also playing a pretty highrisk high reward shot here with an inof sit shot here in the SA
Stand he’s going to be throwing a pistol at this oh I think it hit it a little thin if I were to judge the where it hit the where the Murray Stone hit the sing Stone if it hit it just a little if it hit it just a little
Thicker I think the shot would have been made oh goodness that was super close and so now uh Mike S has a draw for two uh it’s not a gimme by any means it needs to be full eight foot to really uh get that second Point uh but
This is going to be the uh the first multiple Point end possibly in this game and one of the advantages for syens is what this is very similar to what they just threw need to uh get a piece of the uh 4f foot really to score two and a mission

All right the uh end break is winding down and we are going to get back to the action and I do have to say there has been a lot of action here as uh we see uh Welden throw the first rock here I think looking to I would look for a center
Guard but these skips are not me so they could be doing something I may not anticipate and this is going to slip into the house settling in on on the top button and Murray looking to generate some offense puts the broom down for a corner guard with the shot coming now from
this weight looks to be a little up the sweepers are just escorting it I say it looks up looks like it’s sticking in now as it settles in in a a pretty optimal position for the Murray rink so it looks like sign is going to ask for a very similar shot from
Welen this is going to be the corner guard that I was thinking about although this is also going to go into the house so my Spider Sense is off this end uh we’re already in the seventh end of eight ends of Regulation Murray is down two and it’s been a very hardfought
Game and uh Maria is now opting to uh play into the house looking for a potential double takeout from Timber need a little bit more curl it it’s one and the shooters going to roll to the wing under that corner guard when you look at it from the uh head on view it is open on the outside so uh stings could make a play on
It or I could opt to uh put up the uh the Center Rock again and that is what they’ve chosen to do they have chosen to take on the uh red Murray Stone in the house from the outside with the shot coming from Sean frany as for bumper is going to I think
Clip the red and the red is going to go through through the Rings out of play and the shooter is going to go out of play as well out the side and so now uh sittings is sitting one and Murray is trying to generate the multiple Point ends asking for
The uh draw around the corner guard as we see Brandon Stone made his way down the ice this weight looks pretty up it could be spot on though and uh as we cut to the overhead it is a little heavy is it going to stick around and it’s going to go through the
House but stay in play on the back Edge there uh which is as someone who steps a not very very fun position to put a rock uh because it is a tripping Hazard there uh with the five guard rule over uh Sid is going to be asking Sean frany to take out the
Um the Red Guard really open up the uh the field here and it does clip that red out the shoot also rolls away and so now Murray is opting to put up the um Corner guard again as someone in the chat noted um blasty appears to be uh resting on the
Boards at points during the game uh do not know about her condition but hopefully all as well and this shot here uh looks to be a high corner guard so I wonder if Murray would have liked that to be a little closer to the Rings but as it is uh cidan is putting
The broom down for uh blasty to uh throw a takeout to peel it so the peel is made and the shooter is going to roll to theh side there uh so it sets up a corner on the other side and definitely looks like Murray is going to take that on uh looking for
About three feet of curl uh just kind kind of judging where the broom is on the ice so this is really taking off on them and got 174 so that was uh in terms of Weights that is where 174 should be ending up in the uh the middle guard Zone
Um for Murray’s last shot that was a different path of the ice and it may have been a bit slower than they were expecting and so now uh sidan is going to uh pluck out that red in the back that’s not scoring but could be brought into play later as as a back
Stop I think Sig is kind of happy with the setup uh through the rest of the house and we’ll clip the red and have the shooter roll uh out of play so Murray is starting to try that draw again uh I think definitely needs a smidge more weight from
Lson so calling for line here it looks like it’s G to go going into the guard so it looks pretty close okay it’s around the guard where do oh it Clips the guard so now where does it end up uh it finishes in the front of the house
Near the center line and it gives uh sidon’s an opportunity to draw and part another yellow in the front of the house so just a couple close Stones there the uh the weight was better that second shot but then it was just tight and crashed on the guards so four
Sig looking to perhaps draw around the red I wonder if they would maybe want to just get rid of the red and um take away an opportunity for Murray to split the or spill those two spill that rock into uh the house for potential multiple points sidian drops his sweeping broom
As he uh goes down the Ice uh you will see him pick up a uh red white and blue uh broom it is a wrapped corn broom that has a metal slider uh by his hand um it’s not allowed for sweeping but uh as many curlers have a favorite delivery
Device they were allowed to keep uh these older brooms for delivery purposes but they cannot Sweep with it at all if if they try to sweep with that broom which I wouldn’t recommend it’s wrapped with tape uh I think it leads to a disqualification so I can’t remember if
It’s happened I think it may have happened once by accident uh not at a Mopac events as uh we see sigin not drawing around he’s going to uh take out that red rock that I thought could have been used by Murray later in the ends and uh you know he’s all Visine
Getting the red out and Murray is now going to draw on top of the yellow uh to put the rock into place that cidan can’t hit it out necess neily but it’s going to be very tricky for muray to get multiple points here barring an error by signs or
Luck you can’t discount the ability of luck or the importance of luck in curling I guess it’s like golf in that regard so looking to put it right on top of the yellow it is going to be a little short so now uh Sans could uh do a a
Similar shot to what he just threw again just clip the red out if he makes the yellow go away it’s not the end of the world it it would give uh Murray a chance to Blink the end and carry the hammer to the uh eight end of
Regulation so a very a very similar shot here here uh normal takeout weights pretty close to peel from my sigin this is his last without the hammer here in the seventh oh my goodness so the warm room let out uh some Shock ooze uh as I mentioned uh
Barring a uh an eror or some luck so that takeout by Sig runs the red onto the yellow shot Stone and Murray you know facing a pretty tough situation now has a draw number two here so that’s turling [Laughter] folks this is Shawn Murray down two
Uh sitting shot with a chance for two with his last here in the seventh need to did there it’s uh some of these shots have been coming up lights uh this one looks like it’s pretty close they need to make sure it finishes and it will it will settle in uh on the
Button uh almost to the pin before they kick the rocks that is a score of two uh for team Murray to tie things up uh it’s tie game coming home in the eighth end it’s anyone’s game as we’ve seen here and you’re you’re going to be

Bust open the multiple Point ends apologies for not remembering sign storing 2 just two ends ago but the story is now all square at four uh sigin has the hammer and a chance to close out the game and punch his team’s ticket to the mixed Nationals as we see Brianna throw her
First uh looks like a little upweight I think they did uh see that that red rock is touching the Rings and so they’re going to pluck that out and that makes the uh red go away the shooter rolls to the wing and appears to be a very very tight
Guard uh that could be brought into play later in the end so that was a a tough uh conclusion to The End by team Sig and uh you know they’ve been playing really well and I think they’re going to be able to shake it off and uh finish strongly as uh Team Murray
Appears to be putting up a center guard and this is going to be a center guard on the center line which uh does mean that the no tick Center Line rule is in effects and I was just looking online on USA curling.in sh M Nationals is going to be
At Denver Curling Club uh October 10th through 14th so that’s a fun club uh it’s also the home club for two of uh Team c as members and lookss like sidan is opting to draw around that Center guard that was just put up asking Brianna Welden for the
Honors going out really wide it’s gonna be interesting to see oh I hope Sean’s okay just a bit of a slip there the rock is burned uh that means the rock is taken out of play uh sigan had a bit of a smile uh I think just kind of
Uh helping the team regroup after that uh incident there uh it does give Murray a chance to um kind of further secure control of the center of the house as uh he has his room down for another uh Center guard so I wonder like sometimes like
When you go out to the edges edges of the sheet they’re not quite as worn as the Center PATH so like maybe he just found a fresh patch of Ice uh definitely hope Sean’s okay though Sean Franny and uh the the center guard is made uh but it is
The fifth Rock to the end so we’re now to the sixth Rock and uh Mike SS is asking Sean frany to uh start peeling those guards because again s has the hammer so Murray would need to find a chance to steal here gets both of those uh Reds
Moving they go through the house out of play and the shooters also uh lost so there’s one rocking player right now it is a tight a tight Corner Guard from team sigin which uh could come into play later in this end as we see uh Brendan deliver his second
Stone looking for another corner a center guard Center guard so the center guard is made however it is uh after the free guard Zone rule so it is another rock that uh fry can make a play on and it does look like that shot is made that red goes zooming through the
House and the shooter rolls wide and out of play so again uh we’re back to uh where we were two stones ago and it looks like uh Murray is going To I don’t know if he exactly wants to put up the center guard again or just have uh a rock settle into the top top of the house Murray waves the sweepers off as we see it go down the way curling up really nicely ly uh it is a cornerish
Guard kind of in between well it’s more of a center guard uh it’s a slightly different path uh but it I don’t think it should be any problem for a CLA blasty to take out and the shot is made the shooter is going to roll again to the wing out of
Play and so we are coming to the last of the third Stones here in a tie game and Murray is again going to put up another Stone either a tight guard or a top of the house sounds like the line is tight again Murray a waves the sweepers off I got 16
Seconds uh and that does look like a very 16 secondy shot it’s a mid Center guard on the ice uh as you can see from this overhead view and uh again last he is going to be asked to take it out it Clips it and it jams on the uh yellow Corner
Guard uh but then the shooter sticks around to be a new Corner guard so doesn’t change the situation too much although I think the new Corner guard is a little further out out uh providing less of a area to uh draw behind as uh Shan Murray makes his way
Down the ice just another uh I want to take another opportunity toh say thank you uh very much on behalf of our regional Association Mopac for uh to the San Francisco Bay area at Curling Club for hosting this event uh the volunteers from both the club and the uh participating teams for providing
Support throughout this event including uh the ice crew uh Who provided such a great uh surface of play uh the timers who have been keeping track of the time throughout this entire event on multiple sheets uh Tony who helped provide the video support and a whole bunch more
It’s uh it definitely helps exemplify the spirit of curling and I am deeply appreciative of everything that everyone does to make this weekend and all the weekends that we have for work thank you so hoping to draw around that corner guard uh this is going to be very
Close and it gets a oh it just kisses that yellow stone so they needed to be a little deeper some of these draws been coming up lights it’s hard to say uh they they haven’t been consistently light I don’t believe so there’s a wide open house I think they’re looking to
Draw it’s just kind of funny that that thud you may have heard uh was uh sidan uh basically kind of discarding the broom uh towards the uh the wooden uh boards that uh provide this a central walkway so I think they’re trying to draw to the other side of the
Sheets and I think that would uh maybe force Murray to try to draw okay I’m wrong uh no let’s see this release here okay so he is drawing the other side of the sheet hoping for some curl I think this is the side that really digs
In and this rock is sailing is it g to sit down in time I see it hit the brds right there and it’s going to uh settle down in the uh the back 12 foot ring so um Murray is calling his time out as the teams make their way down the
Sheet uh let’s uh take a look at the situation and see if we can listen in so the shots made or the shot the decisions been made the shot has not yet been made um as Sha Murray makes his way down the ice and um still has plenty of time on his
Clock for a a single a final shot I think they just wanted to take a pause to uh you know consider their options and they’ve opted to uh draw uh to the San’s shot Stone this is the last Rock uh so the um Kim was asking if they
Could have drawn around the um Corner guards and still be shot and I think it’s possible but I think what uh Murray wants to do just based on the conversation was to uh kind of make Sig make the draw for the win uh as uh Sean
Murray’s final stone is away uh this is his last Stone needs to be shot to um keep the game going and we’re GNA see where it ends up and this is a little heavy it’s gonna kiss the yellow and push it back and so now uh SS has two
Options as we uh look to the overhead here and um there’s two options for stings to get to the stone or to get to shots uh basically if he hits the inside of the of the red and makes the red go away uh he wins because there’s another yellow
There um although the r could jam and uh the r could jam and but the yellow would roll towards the center and be shot that way uh and so uh as as uh Kimberly noted uh it’s likely both of these teams will be going to Nationals

As they Embrace uh this is their U third trip I believe to uh MST Nationals in the past three years uh they won last year and I think they were the second team two years ago I’d have to double check that um but still what a great game all around uh congratulations
