We’ll go over why Norman believes this to be true, the possibility of it happening, and what this means on the professional golf scene as a whole.
Norman stated, “To have Jon Rahm on board was critically important to our next steps into the future and what we want to do; it will create a domino effect, there will be more apples falling from the tree – there’s no question about it, because LIV continues to grow and develop.”

The professional golf landscape saw a lot of major changes over the past year with the potential merger of the PGA and Liv being the most significant one however this merger has yet to be finalized with talks being extended to 2024 many people are now questioning whether or not this is going to fall
Through one thing is for sure though Greg Norman is embedding on it ever since Liv’s Inception he’s been poaching some of the best players from the PGA Tour to make a name for Liv recently he got a hold of the current world number three and 2023 Masters champion John
Rong the best part he’s made the Bold claim that several players are going to follow suit today on good bokei golf we’re going to be discussing Greg Norman’s take on expecting more golfers to switch to live following rah’s move we’ll go over why Norman believes this to be true the possibility of it
Happening and what this means on the professional golf scene as a whole so without further Ado let’s Dive Right In First we can’t talk about this story without talking about John ROM rah’s move to live from the PGA Tour took many by surprise but both professionals and
Fans alike early in 2022 ROM expressed disinterest in lives format saying that it wasn’t for him that he would rather play in a format that’s been going on for decades and against the best players in the world fast forward to the end of 20123 and now he’s Dawning a live jacket
And praising it for being Innovative sounds familiar well it is he’s not the first player to switch over to the league and change his stance on the rules others like Phil Mickelson Taylor gu and Brooks Kea are just a few who shared similar stories so why did John
ROM and so many others change their mind outside of the fact that money talks and Saudis are sitting on mountains of green the PJ hasn’t done much to try to keep the players until recently this was evident in rah’s shift of tone in 2023 rumors initially circulated around ROM
Being displeased with the direction of the PGA and their rules while he initially shot down any stories about his displeasure signs were pointing that he was about to take the plunge into live this was even more obvious once the live mpga tour emerger was announced mid 2023 as many players felt betrayed by
Their loyalty to the PGA ROM included but the final piece fell when Rah pulled out of Tiger Woods and macroy igl indoor Le League explaining that he wouldn’t be able to commit despite it being a great opportunity eventually the news would break that Rah would sign with Liv for a
Deal rumored to be worth anywhere between 300 to $600 million us much to the pga’s dismay but hey if they’re going to merge eventually might as well take the opportunity now to make the most well you can like the saying goes if you can’t beat them join them but the
Story gets more interesting when we take a look at the person behind the scenes working this deal Greg Norman the Liv golf CEO recently made a bold claim for the future of Liv for 2024 in an interview with BBC’s World Business Report Norman stated to have John ROM on
Board was critically important to our next steps into the future and what we want to do it will create a domino effect there will be more apples falling from the tree there’s no question about it because Liv continues to grow and develop why was he so confident in the
Same interview Norman revealed that since ROM’s move he has been in contact with about 8 to 12 players who are interested in coming on board as well with there being only two to three spots open it looks like Liv will be able to complete their roster thanks to ROM and
The chances are they’re going to poach the best of the rest great for Liv bad for PGA Norman later added it tells you the value of what our platform is where these PGA Tour players see the opportunity that Liv offers all the guys that play on live are just so happy
About the decision that they’ve made Liv is a different platform to the DP World Tour or the PGA Tour and the players want to do both quite honestly so we’ve created something special it’s a franchise it’s a team model and they have embraced it 100% there’s no denying
There is a seismic shift going on in the world of golf the dominant League that used to be is slowly losing its talent pool and may even lose the top spot of being the best golf league in the future while the live tour has always been a controversial topic among golf
Professionals and fans rah’s move and the recent talks the PGA live merger thrust live back in the spotlight once again raising questions regarding its true intentions or so to speak many have criticized the public investment fund of Saudi Arabia for using the live golf tour as a means of sports washing or
Using sports leagues to clean their name to the public eye players signed to the live tour are looked down upon for enabling such action hence why rah’s move was a hot and controversial one in fact Rah took it upon himself to lay low and avoid media and public events for the time being
After switching to live when asked whether he would give interviews Rah said I under very strict instructions not to do public events which I have imposed on myself a little bit for myself and for the change I have given to the World of Golf in the last week meanwhile Saudi Arabia’s Sports Minister
Described the claims of sports washing through the live as very shallow Norman would then double down on this take and state that Saudi Arabia genuinely cares about Golf and that the negative reception that the tour has been getting has been disappointing if you see the way they’re embracing the game of golf
They’re investing in the game of golf in their country for their people into the future Norman said when asked about the possibility of the PGA live merger Norman clarified that he has no involvement with the framework agreement and his only job is to look after live and make sure it is running well
According to an interview with ESPN while no final decision is yet to be made regarding the merger Norman sees the PGA live as a good thing as it’s great to see private Equity coming into the game of golf and investing in the game of golf regardless of whether the
Merger takes place or not Norman clarifies that Liv golf will remain a standalone entity the talks regarding the PGA live merger have been extended to 2024 indefinitely with uncertainty still present in the professional league with ROM’s move to live golf complete and Greg Norman confirming more players
Have reached out to him there is a sense that we will see several Pros switch sides in the coming weeks the big question is who exactly could we see another top 10 player leave the PGA tour with the roster continuously expanding and the deals looking more mouthwatering
It seems that Norman has already proved that a domino effect is underway the live tour is undeniably becoming more tempting unfortunately for PGA supporters with the current Trend it seems only fitting to brace for more jumps from professional to the Rival league for live supporters though the

I think this is healthy. The PGA has had a monopoly on the sport for too long. And as a guy who lives in Australia, it is quite tiring having the worlds best always skip Australian PGA events as they aren’t as lucrative as other tournaments.
