WOW! What a comparison to yesterday’s driver…. FOR ME!
Today I go through the TaylorMade Qi10 Core model driver. The middle option when it comes to spin and launch conditions. I discuss the type of player this is for and demonstrate what I would prioritize if this driver model was something I wanted to test and purchase.
The launch as a direct comparison is significant which results in a totally different look at address in terms of lie and face angle. Follow along as I decide if I need to adjust the loft by confirming all launch conditions with the Full Swing Kit monitor.
Each technical aspect of the club is explained in detail but as always if this leaves you with questions then be sure to comment and I’ll assist where I can.
Stay tuned as tomorrow is the turn of the Qi10 LS that has immediately gone into the bags of Tiger Woods, Tommy Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy.
Certainly one you will not want to miss.

You know by now how I like to do these videos let’s start out with the player’s look I’ve got both of these drivers I’m holding them in one hand for you so you can see it from the address position the top one is the max the bottom one is the
QI 10 why is this so important because it’s footprint I want you to see it from here I want you to see what I’m looking at what we’re viewing as a player as you get closer to it you can see that there’s actually carbon lines across this the detail is fantastic the
Reflection and the look of it as player even in the sun they absolutely nailed it that’s why T acceptance of this driver happened pre the launch whenever that happens you know tailor made are onto a ripper trust me it makes life on tour so much easier when the guys put it
In before launch date the blue carbon faces much like the max in the brand new Qi 10 and put this aside for now which is the max in the QI 10 it’s a new redesigned carbon face but the housing literally where my fingers are has changed it helps with energy transfer it
Means you’re not going to lose speed on those off-center strikes that’s right you heard it we might now be talking to a slightly better player that doesn’t want the max but even you guys out there you do miss the face every now and again the best players in the world are we all
Are so it’s about making these drivers more forgiving keeping them straighter which we talked a lot about in the QI 10 Max there’s also a high moment of inertia in this qi1 standard driver standard core model whatever you want to call it it’s that getting closer to that
10,000 number on the moment of inertia that is the story moment of inertia off center strikes reduction to twist I’ve not actually hit this model yet so I’m going to be interested to see it other things when you read about it the CG is projected to go through the face at a
Different position than the other two driver models what does that mean it means when you set up to it and you create as a player a number on the delivery on the attack angle which will either be down level or positive it means you’re going to get a different
Relationship from this head versus the other two which in turn is going to give you a different launch and a different spin rate players often React to what they can see when they look down you can see as we look at this the blue face the blue carbon face now isn’t so
Contrasting versus the prior model as you have literally this Infinity carbon Crown it’s 97% the golf club is carbon now as you have that Infinity carbon Crown the blue gives you the subtle difference so that you can see the Leading Edge which is why it’s then got
This white or gray line so futuristic going across the top so that if you do change face angle or if you do need to see Loft now that’s in there you can only get that if you put it down yourself and have a good look at it it
Really does require you to just just sit that behind the golf ball pay attention to that and see what’s going on other great things that won’t be listed by any normal retailer when you look to do this you’ve got the decal of the qi1 at the back and how it’s framed it’s slightly
Towards the heel which then helps with a t-bug that is slightly towards the heel so when you put that down and you set the LI angle of the golf club we’ll do that now now that Tab buug and that qi1 everything is aligning up so that you
Find the center of the golf a bit more so I’m going to start with this one in standard obviously Loft sleeve I can move that around this one is a 1.5 Loft sleeve I think if you buy it at retail it could be 2° a large weight at the
Back not as deep as the qi1 max but the weight is at the back there as you place it down slightly different shape again I’ve got the max just here so I can put them next to each other again not as long a bit more compact looks like
Plenty of Loft why I love it it doesn’t look too upright I’ve struggled sometimes with drivers that are too upright they just feel like they want to go left what does that mean it means the toe of the golf club is pointing towards you this one is not the case I can see
Plenty of Loft so I don’t feel as a golfer like I have to help it in the air I like it when that happens a lot of good players will like that for that reason it’s got a port here that isn’t as far in the heel as the qy1 max which
Makes me think it might not be as draw bias again I like that and as I look at inertia generator behind which is this Arrow shape and I compare it it’s not quite as heel by us so I feel like it’s not going to draw as much albeit I did
Not draw the qi1 max too much which you can check out in yesterday’s video be sure to find that one so looking down at this nice looking driver I’m expecting to see bit of spin out of this maybe slightly improved speed I’ve hit a few
More balls now let’s get into it see our Target not mess around round and let’s do some proper driver testing on this one so try and stay forward on it for me that’s the thought at the moment you’re always working on something right and just give it a
Blast so a little bit lower in the blade that’s how I started with the qi1 max it’s hung in there we’ve got our alignment down to the flag it’s come out with the 3,000 spin on it much like the max if I look at the club delivery again
It was the same swing almost that I started the life testing with the max with just a little bit steep speed was similar but Club speed is getting better so I think there’s more in the tank again here let’s try and draw one get that feel if we
Can better again little bit lower in the blade speed’s gone up still 3,000 before I adjust it and I would push you guys as you work on this give yourself a a chance to get used to the golf club we can see that I’m hitting down on it a
Little bit ball position up maybe see if we can get one more the sound is nice that’s one thing that strikes me it’s a it’s a nice sound you can definitely feel off the blade and it’s hard to explain there’s a speed pocket on here
As I look at it so for these low strikes I don’t feel like I’m losing energy that if that’s a feeling that translates I’ve hit two golf shots both of them a little low in the blade I don’t feel like I’m losing any power with this it looks
Amazing that’s going to be what I think strikes people for sure is just the look of it almost looks all black which I know guys like then it’s got the little gray decal all right let’s see if we can get one more before I think about adjusting
This that one was definitely coming out a bit hotter wow that was a long carry it was hotter it was hit higher on the blade again I’m not going to change so that was 2100 on the spin rate 305 total so gained a lot of yardage versus the prior
Video so you can tell this is a better driver for me the attack angle was 2.6 up though which is much better for me as a golfer that was a much better pass but still there’s more in it cuz the smash Factor was 1.46 what do all these
Numbers mean smash factor is how efficient the driver is off the face I can tell when I hit them if it was a great hit or not I mean now after doing this for so many years I know straight away as soon as I hit it but what that
Got for me is it was probably a little bit higher in the blade and it’s Testament to the twist face that it hung in there but it also came out with good numbers what you’re looking for when you do your driver fitting is efficient numbers for you that’s why there are
Three heads in this Qi 10 lineup you need to find the one when you work with your fitter that’s right for your game yes you can manipulate them all but you might get more speed out of another one based on how you deliver the Golf Club
So that was close that 2100 2,100 spin means that it’s nice and knuckly which gives me the yardage that I like so just one more again here see if I can just turn a bit better before I decide if I want to change maybe try and feel the release a bit
More it’s good a different start line maybe slight Healy slightly pulled you can see the launch again down at 8.4 so for me and you’ve seen me do this in videos before I’m going to put another one of my tour aim sticks as we’re here I want to get the maximum out
Of this I desperately want to feel a draw so I’m going to get the full benefit start it right at that turn it over I don’t think I want to adjust Loft sleeve you might be there with your fitter and you might start to turn that
Loft sleeve down to get the spin down but look at the launch look at the club delivery any Fitters out there that are tuning into this think about the player in front of you if they don’t quite know what they’re trying to feel the speed is
Good but the launch is only 8.4 it’s more of a swing from the club here more of the player than it is the driver so really try and start one right that’s pretty good there interesting fact about this and you should do this when you test that flew a
Long way spin was good hit High out the blade speed was good launch was okay club path on that one out to the right so you’re gaining yardage all the time this is definitely a driver that I could work with but the noticeable thing for
Me which I want you to be aware of as your test drivers I’m trying to draw these now based on the way I’m delivering the golf club today and they’re not drawing which for a good golfer for a good player they will love that the fact that I can’t turn this
Driver over in this initial testing will be a great thing most good players right-handers hate missing it left this definitely feels to me like it stays straight which is a fantastic thing it really is that’s a a positive comment about the driver I can’t seem to hit it
Offline and if I do it’s just with the slight baby cut yeah same deal it’s good really good and it’s efficient and the speed’s going up all the time I probably let’s try it let’s go one click lower just see what it just see if I can still launch the
Golf club I’m going to remove this for now let’s just get in this Loft sleeve shimmy one click towards lower this is the first time I’ve tested this driver you’re literally doing it with me I didn’t have this one at the shoot so let’s see if I can still get the
Launch out of this and get a slightly more efficient spin oh it looks good now Angry meaning it looks strong look at that that’s thumped that’s good so the longest line up the left one bounce that’s a 20 thou 2,000 spin ball speed’s jumped up 167
298 that was very good that deserves one more hit straight away less l means more speed 167 ball speed you don’t want to sleep on that it’s good real good coming out flatter for sure but I’ve got the speed I think there needs to be some delivery changes for my golf
Swing but you can see even by going one towards lower one towards standard I’m still getting some efficient numbers and a straight ball flight this is a great looking driver it’s something that will be appealing to a lot of people like as you do do your fitting I wouldn’t rush
In to making decisions on the first setting you get try to play around with different settings try to create different shots if you’re hitting at a certain pattern on a certain day think about what you have to do to change that try to keep this in to give you the
Orientation of the target line so you don’t sleep on that but that is the qi1 that is the second model tomorrow we’re bringing one more to you that I think is my favorite so be sure to come back for that one great driver there is a third tomorrow

Loving thee we reviews on these Qi10 drivers !! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
This is def the one ill be buying! Great upgrade from my old old Burner
The name is awful.
Taylormade is wasted on golf equipment. They should be selling snake oil.
Thanks Trottie You are the best. Great info
Same great presentation same results with every oem driver every year.
The only thing I disagree with is that we should get the same club as the pros do, and why do we ask? It is simple, really. If it was not for us, the consumers' manufacturers would not be able to afford to sponsor these pros. The pro is not the money. We, the everyday golfer, are. The quality control and higher spec clubs they get, we should also get off the shelf without having to go to a special fitting and paying a premium. Manufacturers advertise that we get the same driver they play with, but this is not true. Other than that, I like this driver.
Not sure if this will be a 100% unbiased review or not……😅.
I'm still using my old trusty Taylor Made Burner Bubble from mid 90s, I'm hitting it about 250 yards so after looking at every Taylor Made release since that claims an extra 5 to 10 yards on each release, I'm expecting to hit this Qi10 about 500 yards easy…..😂😂😂😂
Right now I play a 9* turned to 8 bc I like to open the face alittle .. what’s is the benefits if I went with 10.5 turned to 9.5, any more forgiving ?.. I swing about 115 mph
I’m waiting for the driver that guarantees face alignment through the hitting zone. Mine does everything else to the max. Stealth plus with velocore tr blue shaft.
After watching several reviews, the hosel is shorter than the previous models (Stealths, Sims, Ms, etc). How does it change total playing length with the shorter hosel? I play at 45” (Stealth 2+) so my shafts are 44” tip to butt. What would my 44” shaft play as if put into the Qi10?
These look so good. I’m still using a mizuno stz 220 and was about to get a stealth 7 wood but I think I’m going to wait on these and get a new driver and 7 wood. Can’t wait to see the qi10 fairway woods
YouTube ran PXG ads during this video 😂
I just watched your micah vid. Thanks for the videos. Golf Clap!
Thanks Trottie – looking forward to the LS review
Lol only trottie would be hitting blocks and telling us it’s great to not be able to hit the shot I’m trying to hit and make it sound marketable. Applause but yeah, TM driver are notorious for being hard to turn over.
What shaft is that ?
great content as always
What's the equivalent MOI figure on this core model (I understand 10K only holds for the MAX)?
I will be playing this Driver instead of Qi10LS
Can’t wait to see a qi10 player go back to an og sim
Only have ever gamed a Callaway driver but fitting scheduled for Qi10
