Tiger Woods splits with Nike in an interesting development as Matt Adams talks about the new 2024 PGA Tour season and explains how the Signature events are going to work plus we are joined by PGA Tour winner Billy Kratzert to discuss the state of golf.

Um that is possible as well but I still think I’d like it I still think I would like it yeah um all right so you got me Andrew you got me I’m screwed for the playoffs the Rams were playing the Lions right out of the gate I was kind of hoping that’d be

This morning which I think you guys are going to find of interest and it shows you how much the World of Golf has changed now you could take that time period and saying a year and I’m comparing it to the majors you’ll see where I’m going on

This this a year ago who won the Masters John Rah very much could win The Masters again but when you look at in the context of I was just talking about DP World Tour and talking about PGA Tour John RS would live the PGA Championship this year will be at

The PGA tour to give us some insight into what’s happening in the world of golf from that perspective and then I thought you’d have some fun with since I’m going down the road of some history I thought you’d have some fun with some other anniversaries that have taken

Place either yesterday or coming up this week on Monday in 1962 Jack Nicholas cashed his first ever professional check $33.33 for tying for 50th at the Los Angeles open I love this one too this was also from Monday the anniversary of of the same 1993 Raymond Floyd who was then 50 years

Old teed off in the tournament of champion events on both the PGA and the champions tour at the same time the tournaments were held simultaneously at lacasta in carlb California both age groups used the same tease Floyd who won on both tours in 1992 finished tied for

22 and tied for 70th or tied for seventh I big a pardon respectively today in 1811 is the anniversary of the first recorded golf tournament for women that is reported to have been held at mberg in Scotland the winner received a fishing Basket in 2022 anniversary is today I knew you’d

Like that fishing basket part Cameron Smith shot a 34 underpar 250 to win the century he broke the PGA to a record for the lowest score in relation to par in a 72 whole event remember that was only 2022 and here’s one for you Dom you’re

Dom you’re a pajama guy right you like your PJs that’s I I I’m I think I’m a little offended right now why what are you offended about I like my PJs does it look like I’m wearing PJs come on no but I’ve se you have though don’t deny it

Don’t deny it you’ve come downstairs wearing I will not say I will not say I love my PJs what I will go on record saying is I’m not not a fan of sweatpants right right yes I know where you’re going with that you wear them forever all right so on Wednesday in

1949 Lloyd mangram earned the first of four wins in the tours Los Angeles event he later credited the victory to the lucky pajamas he wore under his clothing during during the unseasonably cold final day in 1999 on Wednesday anniversary David DW won the first century to be

Held at the plantation course at Kapalua Resort in Hawaii in 1970 on Thursday Billy Casper wins in Los Angeles becomes a second player in PGA tour history to earn over a million dollars in his career the other two have accomplished it by that point anyone Arnold

Palmer all there was a couple more here that I thought were absolutely classic let me see if I can find it on Saturday the 13th in 1933 Augusta National Golf Club formally opens in austa Georgia same day in 1991 amateur Phil Mickelson earned his first PGA Tour

Victory at the Tucson open through 2021 he remains the most recent amateur to win on the PGA tour and in 1951 this is some Sunday will be the anniversary of which five years after retiring for from professional golf Byron Nelson earns the 52nd and final win of his PGA Tour

Career at the AT&T Pebble Beach proam as it is now called Isn’t that cool a little bit of history as we cruise on down this road as I mentioned the golf that’s coming up this week just to get you guys let me know what I have the air times in

Here get you guys up to speed on what’s going on and we can get it because it’s going to be Prime Time Golf once again on the PGA tour for the Sony Open the coverage on Thursday and Friday will be starting at 700 PM respectively each

Day a Saturday at well that’s all Golf Channel Golf Channel Golf Channel on Sunday it’s split between Golf Channel and NBC at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. much like it was uh last week a PGA Tour live starts at noon the first three days starts at 3:30 on Sunday and the radio

Coverage is at 5:00 P p.m. the first three days and 3m. on Sunday the Dubai event is starting at 2:30 a.m. so it’s actually if you if your a person that stays up late it’s going to be tomorrow night stay up late and it’s going to

Come on the air at 2:30 a.m. I love it because we’re we’re going to be sandwiched between when you get up in the morning you’re going to have live golf coming from Dubai and when you put your head down at night you’re going to have live golf featured from Hawaii in

The First full field event on the PGA tour of 2024 uh and I think that’s very cool I think it’s uh the the fact that everything kicks off in January now on the PJ tour for the first time in many years that this is the start of it all

We are just getting started here on the fairways of Life show today because we’re super excited about the guests that we have coming up to kind of share a vision of what’s going on in the world of golf and asking all I mean I know the questions that I’m I’m interested in I

Am very interested from a veteran Tour player in a multiple time winner on the PGA tour what’s the what’s the temperature what’s the perception of John ROM going to live in terms of what does it mean what is its significance right I don’t think it can be brushed

Away I don’t think it’s a situation where someone go like oh you know we’ll be fine we’ll be fine no I think it’s significant I’m just I’m curious what that perspective is Dom did you decide on your question of the day so far today I sure did uh we’re going to talk

About it a little bit later on in the show because tiger released a statement but for those of you who don’t know tiger is Tiger Woods is splitting up with Nike they were together for almost 30 years and so my question was do you

Care about this I said yes I care no I don’t care or I gave a third option which just happens to be where I stand which is I don’t care what players are wearing for the life of they’ll never understand why watching X player on the

On TV you’re like wow I really like that guy’s shirt I must have it I don’t it just it just never hit me like that I don’t care anyway I don’t know if it’s just shocking or not shocking Matt 71% don’t care they’re like no I I don’t

Care about him splitting and the other 29% I don’t even care what the players are wearing not one person yet has said not one person yet and said yes I really care about this news see that that was like when we were looking through the rundown and you and

I kind of argued about that this morning because my feeling on it was I think the media at large is making way too much of this split with Tiger Woods I get the Nostalgia don’t get me wrong I get that I understand that because that’s the way that that

Everybody and it’s mostly media bent uh people are responding to say through social media and Twitter you know with with the commercial of tiger in 2005 at Augusta with it just rolling over the edge with the Nike logo but tiger is still going to presume be wearing Sunday

Red because that’s him that that was that had nothing to do with with Nike just happened to be a Nike shirt he’s still he still can wear a red shirt so I don’t know I just I think from a Nike perspective somebody somewhere is crunch numbers on the massive amount of media

Exposure that they’re getting just by splitting with Tiger Woods like worth many many many millions of dollars I’m sure and I’m looking at that going you know what with all due respect again I get the Nostalgia I understand however no weepy Nostalgia is going to change the fact that what tiger

Did Tiger did it wasn’t his apparel that did it so I don’t know I just I thought that was interesting but we’ll get to it his statement later on because tiger did make a statement and he said cnla which I think was the most significant part of

The statement that he made so more of the fairways of Life show coming up right afterwards stay with us relax easy now find your happy place happy place the PGA TOUR Superstore it’s all in the hips where every swing is possible just tap it in yes find all the latest gear apparel and

Golf.com hey I’m Matt Adams with the fairways of Life show you know with the New Year comes new goals new things that you hope to accomplish for me I definitely wanted to work on my golf game I definitely want to work on my fitness but I wasn’t even sure where to

Start so when I was introduced to G forever and then they subsequently became a part of the fairways of Life family I finally found a way that I could achieve both goals and bring you guys along for the ride and look if it’s good enough for Scotty shefer then

Certainly it’s a good enough for me too so first thing I did I headed to the gym for my first workout with golf forever and it was nothing like I expected getting started is actually pretty simple first of all head over to golf forever.com you get your swing trainer

And once you have all your gear all you need to do is download the app it’s that easy I answered a few basic questions I set my goals and then went through the assessment so go forever could set the right Baseline then I did some push-ups

A few lunges a little bit of balance work and boom done now was time to start my workout so much of golf obviously is about flexibility right and that was one of the things that I really want to focus on this year so I found myself doing all kinds of stretches basic

Movements but they were really effective I was twisting I was bending even incorporating the swing trainer to help loosen up my body I wasn’t great at it but I was just getting started it was the absolute perfect way to get my feet wet that was a lot harder than I thought

It was going to be you know that was day one for me so I realized this is just the tip of the iceberg and I can tell you I am feeling it in different parts of my body I wasn’t sure what to expect from golf forever I know what I was

Hoping to accomplish with picking up with these guys and that is I’m looking for more Mobility I’m looking for more flexibility I’m looking for more speed ultimately in my golf swing what I didn’t expect was even today when I was doing my assessment and then doing some

Of the different exercises was how much I was feeling it different parts of my body that I don’t feel when I’m working out in the gym so I know it’s going to work I’m super excited about where this pathway takes me I’m super excited about sharing it with you guys too because I

Know you have goals with your Fitness and with your health and certainly with your golf game and it’s something that we can share Together welcome back to the fairways of live show pleasure to have your company folks uh Billy katzer is a voice that we have become familiar with for his work on TV that has extended over many years his playing credentials are also equally as Stout he’s won multiple times on the

PGA tour he played in 481 PGA Tour starts eight times he was runner up he had 29 top five finish 59 top 10 finishes he tied for fifth at the 1978 Masters he tied for sixth at the 1978 US Open I’m going to stay with 1978

For a second because it has a connection to this week he lost in a playoff at the 1978 Hawaii open uh now where called the Sony of course uh to Hubert green at that time and it’s always a pleasure to catch up with Billy and get his

Perspectives on all things gol Billy how are you how have you been I’m doing well Matt how are you well thank you very much hey did you get a chance to catch uh any of Kevin Kisner’s debut uh doing the analyst on TV I’m curious what your

Thoughts are I did and um the fearful part of of everyone um certainly was there uh even kiz was mentioning it but I thought did a great job he you know he has a personal relationship with these guys he’s he’s he’s current with these guys um he knows everything about him he

You know he took some you know some little shots when he had the opportunity I guess the one that’s being most noted is the one with Jordan spe but I thought kid did a great job and um you know I think you know as I look at it uh kind of a

Rotational type team you know could be pretty good in my opinion I mean you’ve done that so many times everyone that comes in for their at least their first few times doing it when the media asks them they go you know it’s a lot harder

Than people think it is how hard is it Billy when you’re trying to come up with a thought or an Insight that’s going to provide context or depth when there’s all kinds of other noise going on in in your earpiece or or in your head well I think I think the the hard

Part Matt is that you wanted try to be too perfect early um in your career or your career change uh or maybe something that you’re going to pursue later down the road in in K’s uh deal but I just think that kiz was just he was just

Natural he you know he didn’t try too hard we say it all the time you know the harder you try the harder the game is well the harder you try at this but you have to do your homework you have to know each and everything about the players and and what their Tendencies

Are what their Tendencies are not what they like what they dislike um but I thought he did a great job of being himself and and I think that’s the key but um he did say that the preparation uh when he was talking to Tommy Roy and and Tom Randolph and and

The team getting ready he did say hey if this has to go on every single week I’m out and uh so so so so but kids did a great job and uh I was happy for him and U you know he he brought he brought a lot of levity to

The broadcast I thought it was good awesome the the event the senty at at the Sony of course produced incredible scoring 29 underpar for Chris Kirk I I know that you’re familiar with the venue and the event from what they were saying it there was not a lot of wind

Throughout the course of the week so it was an opportunity for these guys just to eat it up from a from a birdie perspective I’m of the mindset where I like that kind of flow and ab in the game of golf I like events where uh

Scoring to par is difficult and I also like high-scoring games where we see a lot of birdies what’s your reaction to what you saw yeah I you know I don’t mind the mix I mean we had it earlier um or late last year um in Mexico I mean

When tiger built that golf course in 2014 he and anticipated a lot of win nor did was he expecting to have a PGA Tour event there but golf courses are built with the anticipation of how it’s going to play most of the year and when you

Look at St Andrews the year that uh Louis us him won well Roy shoots 63 but then he gets caught in the wind and then he shoots 80 I mean you’re going to get these years where you can just go ahead and Blitz it and uh when Cameron Smith

Won he you know he shoots what 34 under and you know he made comment at the beginning of the week you know I’m going to have to shoot a bunch more of these 800 Pars in order to win because they weren’t expecting win and um when you

Get that hey you know go out there hey I puted for you know 18 b or 16 birdies and two Eagles and I just thought that uh the scoring you know the pushing you know and Chris Kirk at 29 under and and then 28 27 26 you know everyone was

Pushing each other I kind of like that I I mean it’s it’s a Memory you know it’s it’s like okay morawa last year through I’m going to say all but maybe 30 holes 31 holes he was Bo or 70 or he was bogey free is what I’m trying

To say 68 holes and and then all of a sudden it jumped up and got him I mean the scoring was equally as good but I just think I just think that you know you need that break you need that you need that differentiation from going out

There and and getting beat up on a golf course I mean they’re going to go to Farmers if they don’t have decent weather at the farmers that’s going to be a tough venue it’s a big golf course and and they’re going to struggle but I’m like you Matt you know I like the

Memories of you know what a guy did he made six birdies in a row then he pared then he made an eagle and and you know guys get on runs like that I I think it’s great yeah the the just the finishing rounds Chris Kirk are winner

With a 65 theala with a 63 spe with a 65 those are just the top three and that was just the final day now Billy I want to ask you this $3.6 million for Chris Kirk last week 3.6 million is there any part of Billy crater that kicks a cat

Out of the way thinking about the amount of money that players are getting today no I mean you know when you go back and and certainly when I started um you know we were playing for more money than what Arnold and Jack started at I mean it’s

Just been a progression now was the progression that we saw different in the last couple of years absolutely we kind of saw it when when tiger came out and then the new negotiations took place and that elevated but you know for necessary reasons everything’s been pushed did I think we

Would see this no but um am I jealous no I think these kids they get out there they’ve worked hard you go back in just a few years and you look at Chris Kirk at the Sony Open he had to come through in a big way to continue his exemp

Exempt status on the PGA tour uh you know it’s it’s well documented fighting the alcoholism and and coming back and he had the medical and he came back and he was able to secure his PL Privileges and and now he wins in South Florida last year now he wins again he wins a

Signature event I mean everything has just you know been uplifting for Chris Kirk and uh he’s worked hard to get there I mean it it’s been a tough journey and when you’re trying to overcome something outside the ropes then when you get in and then you

Perform I think I just think it makes it that much better so these guys getting out there getting after it and uh they make a bunch of money um hey I like it uh you know I kind of like looking at it and seeing what they make and you know

You can go out there and finish third and and um you know make over a million three so I’m okay with it it’s amazing absolutely amazing plus dude when you think about your career you played during a time that I call when when Giants roed you look at the amount of

Hall of Famers that played right in the heart of when you were playing and you were still teeing it up at a time with when you talked about Arnold Palmer or the Billy katzer they’re all still playing it was it’s incredible when you think about your era now you mention him

So I’m gonna I’m going to ask you the question uh speaking about another goat Tiger Woods tiger said that he’s going to try to play once a month how excited are you from a fans perspective if you please but at least from A Game’s perspective how important is it that

Tiger is still out there from a fan perspective I am totally elited I I mean I couldn’t be happier um you know to watch him swing the golf club um I’m I’m just ecstatic but um from from the game of golf um right now professional golf um he may be he may be

That that kind of that one guy that can can kind of bring professional golf into a calmer State than what it is um right now we get all the players uh four times a year at the major championships uh you know tiger I think or at least his hope

And wish is that he plays all four majors and I and I just think I think he is the one guy that that can kind of bring calm to the whole situation and and hopefully everything gets done pretty soon but he’s an important part of professional golf right now and and

We need him uh we need his Insight um we need we need a bunch of his time which he’s willing to give uh and he’s giv back um and and that’s what I love about where he is uh with his golf with his private life with everything going

Forward uh but I’m excited about seeing him play uh he’s having to do it a different way you can see that um he’s worked out a lot um maybe that’s one of your goals Maddie you know try to get up there and I saw the you’re starting to

Uh maybe stretch a little bit and work some different muscles so can you get can you get to where tiger is or maybe not but uh I he’s going to have to do it a different way but he understands it I mean he knows more about every little thing he needs

To do in order to compete that any player I’ve ever seen and he he leaves nothing unturned and you know I look forward to watching him play but I do think he is a massive part of getting professional golf back to where it needs to be you know morawa he made the

Statement I’m tired of all the fluff uh Xander schofl I’m just going to go bury my head in the sand I’m you know I’m just going to keep going forward you have guys that want some answers professional golf wants some answers and right now um they’re trying

To get those answers but there aren’t any right now you know the extension of of um the deal with the PGA Tour and um PF I you know I just hope it it gets done I hope everything uh there’s some sensibility to it and it gets done and

But I think Tigers is a big part of this whole thing well if tiger is the key to the Zen golf we’re going to go down that road in just a second not So Much from the tiger perspective or if Billy wants to weave that in but I do want to talk

To Billy about the state of golf that he’s starting to touch on and where we stand in 2024 moving forward as to the fitness stuff that Billy was talking about I’ll tell you one thing that’s going to hurt my fitness goals is when we go out Billy is excellent at picking

Out wine really really super good so if I had have to give that one up they’re going to have to pry it from my cold dead hands more of the fairways of Life show coming up after this I guess hello world huh and with one subtle hello tiger began an amazing and Unthinkable

[Applause] career I’ve done it for 20 years now with with Bridgestone allows me to play an aggressive style around the greens and it’s led me to win a lot for Bridgestone Golf proud to be part of your journey Bo golf provides the Ultimate worldclass Golf destination with 10 Championship caliber courses spanning

Why they struggle to play golf is their body doesn’t move properly for them to be able to hit a golf ball and when you’re training for golf it’s a little bit different because you’re focused more on flexibility and mobility and being uh strong in motion when you’re

Able to kind of have a warm-up and have a workout routine and kind of gradually ually build up to where you’re training your body to move properly yeah you’re going to get a lot of big dividends on the golf course relax easy now find your happy place happy place

Of our friend Billy katzer on this day and and in the last segment we were there’s Billy right there classic I’ll tell you what he still got that move Billy how about your year in 1978 it was it was crazy good yeah it it was a fun year and um you

Know coming off a win at hardford uh the year before and then you know having a chance to win and then my good friend Hubert uh got me in a playoff but uh you know I it was it was a nice run that I had till 86 and like you were talking

About earlier you know the ability to be able to play with Arnold Jack trino Floyd Weiss I I mean I could just go down the list and uh you know I’ve lost a couple of close friends you know Hubert green Tom Weiss cof and um but it

Was a great era to play in and I enjoyed it uh you know playing college golf with kensaw Bill Rogers Bruce litzky Craig Stadler Gary KO I you know you just go on down the list and uh it was quite a special time Maddie what’ you think

About Raymond Floyd did you play with him much played a lot with Raymond in fact there was there was I I continue to tell this story there was there was a kind of a nine-week period and prior to the sophisticated way that they do the pairings now it was just all index cards

So each week you know you go in there and boom boom boom they shuffle them and sometimes they stick together and sometimes they don’t well there’s a nwe period I played with Raymond Floyd Lee Travino or both nine straight weeks and every single round that they played now

This is nine weeks every single round they played or I played with them one of them chipped in I mean I you don’t expect me to be surprised to hear that well rayen was the master at the four iron off The Fringe and just kind of use it like a

Putter I mean he he’d make one around no problem so that’s classic what did what did leino say or call you he he’s got something on everybody you know what he just he just called me katsy you know and that’s you know he he kind of has a nickname for

Everybody it’s kind of like tiger really you know Tiger has a nickname for everyone and and uh but apparently katsy just kind of fits because that’s what tiger says too so they’re kind of on the same page so far as nicknames but but Lee I mean he you know he was always he

Was always that guy that when you were paired with him you knew you were going to enjoy it one you were going to see a great ball Striker uh maybe one of the top three um you were going to witness that the ability that he had to to get to a whole

Location you know he didn’t have to land it up there he can make one of those Bala balls just crawl right up the slope he could put so much spit on it and that I mean it was amazing to play with these guys and the Chi-Chi rodriges uh George nuds and

These these ball Strikers it was just fabulous that’s what I mean about playing during a time when Giants roam now it when we’re talking about 2024 I think just looking at the four majors of this year tells a lot of where we’re at the Masters our defending

Champion is John Rah he went to live we’re at Valhalla the last to win at Valhalla of course was Rory mroy in 2014 we’re going back to Pinehurst for and that was for the PGA Championship we’re going back to Pinehurst for the US Open Martin kimer won there in 14 he’s he’s

Now with Liv Michelle wean on the women’s side if you remember back to back she’s retired at the open our defending champion of course is Brian Harmon but the last time we were at Royal trun Henrik Stenson won in that epic battle with Phil Mickelson both

Would live I mean it’s a microcosm to picked those four events and talk about the balance of power in the game of golf but I I would leave it and that broad brush to you to react if if I may Billy in terms of where we’re at heading into 24 in the

Game well um I think we’re positioned to where if we can somehow get an agreement to where you can have the top players in the world play against each other more uh you know what that solution might be I don’t know certainly it’s it’s much more difficult than just saying that

We’re going to do it um otherwise it would have already been done I just think that um in order to have the game the professional game where it needs to be you need to figure that out um I thought it’s interesting that you brought that up that you have Rah kimer uh

Stenson so you have those guys um they’re over at live now uh that have won those championships in tournaments so I guess I really never thought of it that way but I think that kind of shows you exactly where we are right now but where we need to be for the betterment

Of the game I think you know how do we put everything aside uh I mean even Rory has said hey I was a little too hard in my comments in my statements uh about the guys that jumped over to live um there there’s a softening there um so I think I think

Amongst the players there’s more of a a softer approach is is what I’m hearing and and maybe that’s going to be what was necessary to make all this work um I just think it a hard stance at the beginning uh was certainly the wrong method um at least it’s proven to be the

Wrong method and and now if we can get the the the best players in the world together because you want to be able to say uh like the TPC used to uh this the players used to always say the best field in golf well the best fields in

Golf now are the ones with the major championships uh so um hope hopefully it can get resolved I I don’t know how they’re going to you know eventually come to that but if it’s if it’s 10 or 12 times a year uh I think that would be

Great uh but there are some stumbling blocks that everyone needs to get over and and right now no one knows what those those stumbling blocks are but apparently they’re in place otherwise the deal would have been done Billy when you look at and you again you take this any way you want to

Go down the direction you want is there a risk for the game of golf in the discussions and and the current of in the flow of events happening around it right now I you know what I think I think as we talk about the game of golf and and where it is if

We talk about it professionally then we’re going to talk about where you play what when you play uh how much you’re paid whatever uh if you go down the other path and and then you want to talk about what they’re doing with the game and the equipment and everything well that’s a

That’s that affects more people so I guess Matt I I guess my biggest concern uh with this with the game of golf and where we are right now is what makes most sense uh um you know if if Rory even said it you know we have the the player you know incentive

Package that you know they had 100 million in there Roy even said it hey if you want to give back to the game if you want to grow the game then then go ahead and take that money and then put it towards something whether usj an RNA split it whatever whatever organization but

You know do that and and and you know create more Goodwill that way and you know because the guys the guys will give back but you know how do they grow the game well they give back but you can grow the game if you can you know do the

Funding with the usj and the RNA and and whatever so I guess my my biggest outlook on on golf right now Matt is we have to once again get the people to where they’re they’re happy with professional golf and uh especially on the men’s side you know we need to get

It to where people are more accepting and they’re not doing a lot of arguing and trying to figure out stuff uh Billy I think you and I share a a common mindset from the perspective that I do believe that the game of golf will always Prevail and part of the

Reason it will prevail is because of the heroes that we love to watch play uh but also because of the young people that are continuing to feed into the system like this week at the Sony once again we’re going to get a chance to watch

Ludvig Oar uh it out in Dubai it’s got a great field in the DP World Tour we’re going to get a chance to watch Rory and and a bunch of great players out there as well but oar is one where from the performance that he had not only in his

Own individual ual right but also with what he did at the Ryder Cup uh again and I’m not taking away from his an individual because it’s really exciting but I think he represents a whole class of young players that are emerging on the game that one day will inherit the

Mantle of it but it’s very exciting to to to watch it because it speaks to that hope agreed and and when you look at the PGA Tour and what they’ve done and the the way you perform in in College in the way that you can jump to the PGA Tour

Like Oar did and then all of a sudden you have the success that Oar has had up to this point uh that’s Sensational and and I’ve always said you’re always going to create the stars on the PGA tour the PGA Tour is where you want to be this is

Where you want to start you can you can certainly make a name for yourself um that’s the PGA tool that’s you’re going to you’re you’re going to see stars every year on the other hand the live U they’re utilizing those stars and you see that with the cam Smith the kka and

You can just go down the list now you have John ROM and so that’s why I’m saying you need to blend it together but the the Stars today the these young guys they had the qualifier down uh in Pon ofro it’s ress Country Club and the valley course and

To go out there and watch these kids play Under the toughest conditions and shoot some of the scores they shot they were amazingly good and and there’s a lot of talent a lot of young players out there uh but I love the fact that you can jump from college you get in there

You’re a senior you can continue on uh you can benefit from that it’s a it’s a plus plus for for that person so the game of golf so far as the younger players are concerned they’re in a good spot I mean they really are I mean the

Tour has really done a nice job in getting that out there and allowing these players to have access to the BGA tour through playing well in college it’s great and it’s you know the the interesting thing Billy is it’s not just the young players go out folks if you

Had a chance and watch a qualifier for a PJ tour Champions event if you don’t shoot south of 65 you’re not getting in it is that good the buffet that is golf Billy I’m sure you and I will be working together up at NBC in the months that lie ahead but

Here so speaking of equipment in this case Peril yeah that story of Tiger Woods after 27 plus years he has split with Nike it it caused quite a bit of news at the very least uh he he’s quoted as saying from this statement that he released over 27 years ago I was

Fortunate to start a partnership with one of the most iconic brands in the world the days since have been filled with so many amazing moments and memories if I started naming them I could go on forever Phil Knight’s passion and vision brought this Nike and Nike golf partnership together and I

Want to personally thank him along with the Nike employees and the incredible athletes I have had the pleasure of working with along the way people will ask if there is another chapter yes there will certainly be another chapter see you in La close quote so there’s a

Lot to take from that for me the most important part was Tiger saying see you in La so I hoping that means that Tiger’s planning on teeing it up at the Genesis but you know I I do I do have this feeling when I know the reaction was was Heavy

Social media media in general golf related media but part of me almost feels like it was a little bit out of balance to to be fair and to be honest because I get again that there’s Nostalgia associated with this you know tiger and his Sunday red

With the with the the Nike swish logo I get that I understand that but it wasn’t the clothing that made Tiger Woods Tiger Woods that was only part of who Tiger Woods was at the height of his prowess so I mean for example I think Tiger’s

Still G to be wearing Sunday red it just won’t have that logo on it so I don’t know there’s part of me that kind of feels like from a from a Nike perspective they’ve got to be sitting back rolling one hand over the other going this is great because we’ve gotten

Millions and millions of dollars of as they measure Impressions because of this news of of splitting with Tiger Woods I think the bigger question is is what does from a business standpoint what does this mean in terms of Nike’s relationship with the game of golf is

This a sign of things to come of where they feel feel if they’re already out of the equipment the hard good side that was a few years on now so what does it mean for the bigger picture uh and obviously Tiger has other plans in mind

Too because I think that’s what he was referring to when he was saying yes there certainly will be another chapter I have a feeling that will be on the apparel side uh Dom I know that you uh intended on putting forth your your message today the question of the day uh

With is surrounding with Tiger but I’m curious what the reaction has been what the voting has been so far if you’d share it with us yeah I I pulled the audience to to see what this meant do people care about this do you care about Tiger Woods

Splitting with Nike yes or no and then I gave a third option which was I don’t really care what the players were at all in general only 6% said yes speaking to what you were just talking about 71% said no I don’t care about this at

All so and 23% don’t care what any of the players are wearing it in general so it didn’t you know I think that your your your gut feeling was correct man so that that just to quickly to the math there 93% either by your definition don’t 94%

Is it yeah either don’t care at all about the about this story or don’t care what the player anything about the apparel that the players wear 94% wow that that really that does surprise I have to tell you that surprises me but it but my you’re right that was my

Instinct was I didn’t think it was going to be that heavy that I’m I’m in Earnest when I say that surprises me but my instinct was that I just thought that too much was being put into this particular storyline because ultimately it is business and in this case I don’t know I

Think Tiger Woods is going to be fine thank you so much for your today folks always an absolute Delight to spend it with you don’t forget you can find us on our YouTube channel on any time any day and we will share the experience with you until we are together again goodbye for
