Two of golf’s biggest brands have created drivers they say are the most forgiving in the world tailor made and ping have both broken the 10K barrier with these clubs but what does that mean and should you be bothered the short answer is yes absolutely yes so firstly we have to

Break down a little math but don’t click away it’ll take 30 seconds and it’s imperative to understanding these clubs when a driver is struck especially from the heel the toe the top or the bottom the club will twist moment of inertia Ori is measured in grams per cm squared

And shows how much resistance the club head has to twisting the more resistance the club has the higher the Moi reading both the tailor made qi1 Max and the Ping g430 Max 10K have reached the 10,000 G per CM squar Mark more than 2,000 G per CM squar higher on average

Than the other drivers out there now the reason that I’m excited about these drivers is usually to create this amount of forgiveness things have to be sacrificed and one of those things is ball speed that doesn’t appear to be the case here but there are some issues that you need to be aware

Of the qi1 range has three drivers the aforementioned Max the standard and the ls both the standard qi1 and the ls are nowhere near that 10K Mark now I might put these other tailor made drivers to the test in future video but for this test I’m just going to be focusing on

The qi1 max as that is the most interesting story Within These releases so the Ping g430 Max 10K that is uh quite the assortment and jumble of words and when I look down on this driver that’s what I think as well so we’ve got here a combination of

A partial carbon crown that was introduced firstly last year and the continuation of the turbulators to my eyes when it’s behind the ball it just looks cluttered it looks a little bit distracting but ping have also made another huge claim with this driver so apparently during testing there’s actually quite a few tour

Players who are switching into this driver because as well as having that extra level of forgiveness apparently is also quite low spinning now this is strange because a lot of the things that you do to make a driver more forgiving such as pushing the weight further back and deeper into

The head that should increase backs spin what’s also weird is where this drive is going to sit so the g430 range from ping that is going to continue now they already have three drivers within this driver family and this is meant to be the most forgiving but it’s also low

Spinning it’s a it’s an odd one I’m not entirely sure where it’s going to sit amongst these other drivers now I’ve already mentioned about how I’m not entirely sure about the look on top of this driver I don’t know if it’s more of a mental thing but every time I pick up

A ping driver it’s the head just seems to feel really heavy I’m sure it’s not in relation to other drivers out there but the size of it and everything that’s on top just maybe slightly Cumbersome but having said all of that this driver feels really solid like really solid wow you know I have hit how many drivers I’ve hit in this studio I mean well this is the new studio so not that many but with the quad and with the

Software I’ve hit so many drivers and to see such a forgiving club actually fly like a low spinning is driver D it is interesting wow um okay before draw any real conclusions with this let’s let’s have a hit of the qi1 max now in comparison to the Ping the qi1 max

Actually looks quite Sleek it looks a little bit more refined and also very futuristic with these silver sweeps and the carbon Crown now covers 97% of the area on the top of the club and that’s allowed tlor May to redistribute weight around the head and actually make the

Head massive I mean the head is at 460c it’s at the legal limit but it’s got the footprint of don’t know like an elephant tailor made have made a couple of refinements to the club face but it’s practically the same as what it was in previous models apart from you know this

Completely different color I would say say I’m probably more of a fan of the blue than the red I think this looks really nice actually now before we do this I’ve been digging through the historical records and there is actually one other driver that has broken this

10K barrier before now that is the Ping g400 Max so if you do see one of those drivers knocking around it might be an idea to snap it up and for that bit of customer information please give me a subscribe to the channel we’re almost at

Up the tailor maid now one of the biggest issues since tailor made have switched to the carbon face is out of the toe they’ve been a bit rubbish and generally the carbon faces lacked a level of forgiveness and some of the ball flights which have produced are

Just a bit odd the qi1 max is so much better honestly it makes me want to weep just how much better this driver is compared to the other carbon face models now both these drivers that we tested were at 8° using the same shaft and using the Pro V1 now that’s important as

We move forward with this data so the qi1 Max from across the face just felt so so good probably low heel was the funky area that I found which could still do with a little bit of work but generally compared to the other carbon Faces by far the best I’ve hit the spin

Rates on the qi1 max for me were a little bit higher than I wanted to see swinging at my testing speed this year of 115 mph however this driver isn’t specifically designed for me and that swing speed maybe because of the extra Back Spin I saw an absolutely lovely

Dispersion pattern when I was testing on the GC quad and I’ll throw up the carry and the total distances of the QI 10 like I said with a slightly lower spin rate I could have got a little bit more distance but maybe accuracy would have suffered on a normal day I would be

Carrying the qi1 max down the street people would be rushing out of their homes to welcome it to their neighborhood and just feel so blessed to have it nearby however I’ve not showed you the Ping results yet now remember one of the issues I said about pushing a driver

Towards that 10K Mark that there is ways that you can lose distance and that usually happens by an increase in ball spin the Ping g430 Max 10K has somehow managed to control that so have a look at this comparison between the data of the two drivers now as mentioned I

Obviously really like the qi1 max but the swings that I was putting on both these drivers during testing were pretty much identical for speed for path for angle of attack I’ve actually this is probably the best set of data that I’ve managed to achieve as far as consistency

Of swings go very proud of myself and as you can see despite everything being practically the same the spin rates on the Ping were remarkably lower I I I don’t really know how they managed to do this I can safely say that from across the face it was just as forgiving as the

Tailor made super forgiving it felt fantastic from toe from heel from Top from bottom distance didn’t seem to be effective so I can be quietly confident in saying this is the best ping driver that I’ve ever tested for the tailor made especially I was actually quite interested in what this would be like

For your average golfer the golfer that this driver is more aimed at so I got some of the team in a range of handicaps to bash away with these two clubs and they pretty much confirmed what I thought about the tailor made model it’s just a marked improvement on previous

Carbon faces the Ping is slightly tricky cuz as mentioned where does this sit within the lineup the g430 lineup it’s so forgiving and yet I feel it can be used by a majority of golfers so in conclusion two absolutely unbelievable drivers which I’m really really impressed with to check out the new
